What’s anti immigration? Is it hatred towards foreigners? Or is it simply limited empathy towards immigrants? Big difference, the former is irrational and most Canadians bear no ill feelings towards immigrants, especially refugees. The latter is about rationality, not letting emotions dictate national policy. No one will argue that unlimited empathy towards your own children is the most desirable practice of parenthood. Then why should a country never even question whether immigration policy is benefiting the society in the name of empathy, compassion???

it’s not anti- immigration. Our country is in horrible shape. No jobs the ages are decreasing people need multiple jobs. We can’t invite more people here until we get a handle on the people that are here.

So I have suggestions for improvement for both India and Canada \nIndia - Population control bill needed now, strict implementation of anti corruption laws on all whether bureaucrats or politicians, improvement in education at all levels (skill enhancement).\nCanada - A better leadership needed. Trudeau failed miserably. Canada needs to start making it's own stuff now i.e. focus on manufacturing industries and increase in exports, can't rely on US for everything. Pvt players to be introduced in healthcare to lessen the burden of public healthcare. Housing needs better regulations now. And immigration should be merit based (current point system is not bad) but don't give it to everybody like they did during Covid time. Everybody was granted PR despite very low CRS score. And avoid more refugees.

1/4 Canadians are in poverty and we’re bringing in more third world people. Housing is up, cost of living is up. We don’t want a forever anti immigrant mindset just temporarily until we get our feet back under us.

I don’t think it is anti immigration in general, it is more anti Indian immigration. Look at Brampton and many other parts of Ontario and BC Almost no diversity in some cities. It doesn’t feel like Canada. Every Tim Hortons, truck drivers, many Indian international students, gas stations. Look at the job fairs, mostly Indians. What happened to diversity.

It's not just housing. People can't find jobs. The CNE job fair had tickets for crying out loud. People can't find doctors. Long lines in ERs. It's not just anti immigration either. When looking for jobs, sometimes, you find yourself in rooms where you're the only one speaking English or French.

Like others have said here, most Canadians are not anti-immigration. Most Canadians grew up proud that we live in such a cosmopolitan country. What people are against is the immigration policies of the current Trudeau government which has led to a degradation in public services and contributed to massively inflated real estate values due to the simple rule of supply and demand. There has been a noticeable and real decline in the quality of life for the average Canadian over the past decade. It is genuinely confounding how anyone can continue to support this government. We are seeing our country go down the drain before our eyes.

In order for there to be an honest and effective conversation about potential solutions, people and the media MUST stop equating anti-immigration with racism or xenophobia. No one is against immigration as long as it is sustainable. 62% of doctors in Canada are immigrants, some 40% nurses are immigrants, lawyers, engineers, etc. However low skill jobs attracting people to be imported is just soo dumb. I came here as a kid with my highly skilled parents and things were very different back then.

i believe this is not Anti-Immigration because every immigrants must bring $$ when they enter in Canada. In some visible minority communities, from CBSA, MPs, immigration consultants,financial institutions (in Canada and abroad), private colleges and private businesses have formed a illegal human trafficking network to smuggle migrants into Canada right under Federal Government eyes. Canada as a whole and Canadian citizens have not been benefited from it. Only people and businesses who are in this network have been profiteering from it. Someone takes bribes, political donations, foreign students related businesses preying on people who want to immigrate to Canada.
