Canada already taxes US imports at an average of 25%, so these US tariffs only balance the playing field. All that said, like Zelensky, Trudeau seems to forget that Canada needs the US, but the US doesn't need Canada. He says that it is going to be tough in Canada; true. On the other hand, the average American probably won't even notice a difference. But the neverending, desperate anti-Trump narrative twisting is all CNN knows.

Trump must be impeached—he must leave his post. Vance must go as well. These people have no place in the American government. I think it was Margaret Thatcher during the Reagan administration the one who said, Americans are notorious about choosing stupid presidents. So, what to say about that? What I've heard from some of my friends is that they don't care if democracy is gone as long as their taxes go down. They want a lower income tax bracket. They're very single minded about issues. We'll see how we fair once you have to pay more at the pump, when the price of electronics go up, when produce and beef, pork, and chicken become unaffordable. Yes, the middle and upper middle class probably don't care, but the lower classes and the already poor are not going to be happy. Once people are hungry, then you'll see people on the street. Once the farmers start losing their farms and small businesses start losing their investments, you'll see people on the streets. Americans are not hungry enough yet. Just wait.

I have always felt emence pride to be an American. We truly were a land of opportunity and freedom for all. Respected by others because we respected others. How did we go from protecting those in need to exploiting the weak?

I'm Canadian - never been a fan of JT. But hearing him speak today made me proud. He's right - Canadians are polite easy going, but if you push us too far, we will retaliate. I hate this - I love America and have American friends. This sucks for both countries.
