Im white I grew up in a town thats mostly black .you want to know about racism its on both sides no one called me by name its that white boy or you look good for a white boy and if i was in a store and 4or5 people asked if i needed help i would think they are doing there job or just wanted to be helpful but thats not the same thing as being followed racism is mostly a male thing from my experience

I seen one like this where the black guy was claiming racism because the store didnt ask him if he needed any help and they asked the white guy. If you look for racism you will find racism whether legit or not

Speak English. Even if we ask please or suggest instead of hammering it or shouting it. Us Americans will be seen as racist or unsympathetic.. no matter if we're black or white. This is outrageous. there are dozens of flaws in Canada's immigration system. I am surprised to see that a person who has not spent a single minute in Canada enters the country as a permanent resident . has not paid a single dollar in taxes enters as a permanent resident. has not played his part in Canada's society and doesn't know fuck about Canada enters as a permanent resident of Canada. it does not surprise me to see people commenting about residents living in Canada do not speak English. \n \nI will give an example of the UK here which is far more developed than Canada and have very high standards. first of all, no one can enter the UK as a permanent resident of the UK. even if their partner is British, they will still come to the UK on a visa. depending on how much their British partner earns, it will take 5 to 10 years for them to settle in the UK, provided they pass the residency test in the UK(which Canada does not ask for whether you are in Canada applying for a PNP or PR or you come directly from another part of the world). a person who gets in the UK as a student spends minimum 7 years, if he is not married to a British /EU national to get a PR, most spend 10 for a UK PR(known as ILR in the UK) provided they pass the test for English and life in the UK (citizenship test). in return, the UK offers to its residents what no other nation offers. canada is giving away residencies as if its a leaflet. it's easier to get a Canadian residency than it is to extend a skilled visa in the UK. I have lived in Canada and felt that standard of living in canada is not very high as compared to the UK. so if Canada offers easy residency to people, it is only because they also know they are not giving away something precious :)

One time I called a Mexican store (I’m Mexican) for prices of some seafood and the guy didn’t want to give me prices told me to come in twice so I got so mad and I called my husband (who’s white) to call them and ask the same and watched them give him the prices!!! I was like wowww I wanted to go in the next day and tell them why was I getting bad customer service and he got what he wanted cause he is white.

I use to work at grocery store or a supermarket my manager was Mexican but the owner is white and every time we clock in our manager would tell us “ look at everyone the same” some one that works with me in the store asked him what does that mean he responded with “ it means treat every one they way you wanna be treated”

Not all white store workers who ask you if you need help are doing so because they think you will steal. Yes, I believe you! I know it happens, but I am a cashier, and sometimes I work on self scan. During very slow times, I will see confused customers looking around, so I ask if they need help. I do that with black, white or Hispanic people. I ONLY do it if they look confused. I enjoy helping people, so for me, it's altruistic. Please don't assume all are suspicious of you. Try and know the difference between the suspicious ones vs the ones who truly care.

Best buy trains there employees to always ask if you need help with anything.... my store they are up your as s non stop they get paid sales commissions so they are like valtures you don't dare look at a tv or a computer or they will swarm you trying to talk you into the one they get the commission on and telling you why it's better then the one your looking at ..... it's ridiculous \n\nBest buy isn't a good example for this video.....

I'll lay it out for you: Me: typical middle of the road liberal oriented Canadian. Non white, immigrant (I wasnt born here) I worked in a Refugee housing for over 4 years in Ontario. Most were not war areas refugees (Yes I know there are other types of refugees). I only encountered few refugees from war areas. ONLY 1 person from Iraq, about 2 families were from Afghanistan, 1 couple from Pakistan(I doubt they were real refugees they spoke fluent English, maybe political refugee), and a most from African countries. Its too far for real refugees to get here. Its Easier for them to go to other countries nearby or Europe. MOST SEEM TO BE ECONOMIC REFUGEES. Most were coming from Africa. Some are coming from Latin America, which shouldn't be happening. Once they showed up at our doorstep and we processed them into the system, they were immediately in the same class as a Canadian resident homeless person if they were making a refugee claim. We get money to house and feed them (from the government), and they are given a stipend for basics from the government processed through the Social Assistance/ Welfare system (they get less than a resident/citizen I think.). They then have to get their case processed by the refugee board, and most seem to get in. I've only heard of few getting sent back. One person I know at our facility, was given a subsided social housing apartment after a year in our facility. So they went straight from a shelter to a government/city owned subsidized apartment. (Didn't seem like it was a issue for the housing worker...they didn't report it (if they were not the ones that helped the person to get it), they were white, the housed person was Latin. This refugee claimant, and then month or two new Canadian resident person was given an apartment in a prime area of the city, instead of the 1000's of Canadians, those who came before them, and born Canadian citizens on an extremely long waiting list. How this was allowed to happen I don't know. The person was probably sucking on someone's straw. I'm just trying to think the barriers these people have to go through to get a job here. We are far removed from the time of the 80's and 90's., and housing and jobs are so hard to get. Lol the "Canadian government asks them to repay the traveling cost to Canada if they are sent back"....I wonder how much the government recoups?.....more like 0 probably. What a bunch of crap. How do you demand someone to repay their flight cost when they get back to their country?

I went and viewed 3 vacant apartment in a building. Available immediately. I was ready to take one. I noticed, as we went to each apartment that they were all inhabited by Polish people. The Superintendent and the Property Manager, also Polish. I am guessing the owner was too.\nI am a single, middle aged, clean and healthy, responsible white woman. NOT polish though. After submitting my application and deposit I waited. 5 days later called and left a message, 2 days after, called again. No answer. Then, called from a Private number and they answered right away. I asked them the status of my application. We are sorry ... all three apartments taken. \nI believe I was discriminated against because I am not Polish. Oh well ... I've moved on. Found a great apartment up the street for less rent, free parking and a very welcoming atmosphere.\nLife goes on.

Shopper Drug mart in TD Square-Downtown Calgary. I get racially profiled there all the time. It was busy one night while I was trying to buy something and I saw two people steal items right under the nose of the cashier. Since I get racially profiled there all the time I just watched the whole thing play out and laughed. Now I just bug the heck of the people following me: I ask them to look for stuff for me all the time. I don’t like the attention but I’ll make them work. And the people who do the racial profile are often people of colour, smdh! And the owners of most of these shoppers drug mart in Calgary are Chinese.

its funny the cbc disables the comments section on all their videos that white conservatives are likely to respond negatively to. but when its the reverse , boom. ill tell you a little story about racism . 35 yrs. ago i worked demolition and one day i notice these new guys just standing around. a couple of other guys come over to me and point out that those three guys just standing around would be fired at the end of the day, when i asked why they told me it was because they werent doing any work becuase no one would show then what to do becuase they were black they used different words. so i went over to these three guys and told them if they didnt work they would be fired at the end of the day. they said no one would show them which i thought was pretty lame since the job was to pick up the demolition garbage and pill it like every one else, so i showd them and save their jobs.

I guarantee he won't get good offers in those apartment buildings, if he gets any offers at all.\n\nA friend once told me a story about a friend of his who was very well off. This man went into an exclusive car dealership to look at a car on display. He didn't like to appear as well of as he was, so often wore simple jeans and t-shirt. growing up in canada, i felt left out in the blk community b/c i am a 5th generation blk cdn on mom's side and 3rd on my dad's - when other black ppl not canadian born met me - i tell them i'm cdn, but i always used to get the question - where are you really from - they were looking for me to say the islands - when i told them my paternal grandma was born in 1901 in canada - that's when the questions stopped. i've been told that b/c i wasn't from the islands, i had no culture in college, but a mbr of the black student society put him in his place i heard he got into a lot of trouble. i was asked what do we eat as in food as canadians what kind of music do we listen to - at our blk canadian weddings, the only carribean song played was hot hot hot by arrow - we played straight up r and b and motown. i hv been rejected by other blk men b/c i'm not west indian enough...it was hurtful. even with 'friends' they made of my cdn heritage but i used to think, why are you making fun of me knowing that my family and ancestors were in canada first - they were 1st generation - i live in the usa now and i'm with an african american man - he has never treated me as if i were different and he loves going w/me to canada. my parents told me it was jealousy on those ppl's parts - one guy i used to be friends with in college, when i went to his house, his mom was from the islands, when she met me - she said, 'you cdn ppl are loud' and that did it for me - i didn't date her son but when he met my parents, they never said any of that crap to him. in the usa, the african americans don't treat differently at all - my ex mom in law thought we were american but decided to live in canada - b/c she was surprised that blacks do live in canada. her other daughter in law's family were from the islands - but she gravitated more to my family and felt comfortable around them more than her family and this ex sis in law would brag about the islands this and that and she would make comments about my looks being skinny and such but it was jealousy - i didn't care much for her b/c she was very insecure. i felt once again, i was a young girl in college again - being around island ppl....i would love to meet drake and ask him did he feel left out and isolated because he wasn't from the islands - he makes me very proud being a blk canadian - his dad is african american and his mom is jewish. i still hv dealt w/racism not much with wht ppl, but with my own ppl - which is quite sad and on top of it-colorism, that also played a part from my family - being called pygmy, chocolate dip, nappy hair - it hurt but these so called relatives, they aren't all that anymore, they had hard lives as children...when ppl see something in you that is special and they don't have, that's when their ugliness shows -

What a waste of time and energy. Maybe they should do the same test with animals. Ask the gazelles and zebras why they act differently when they see a lion, or when they see a giraffe. One of those has a history of causing bad outcomes. I want to ask one question from my christian and jewish brothers that why they don't ban jews and christians when their ladaies wear hijab ? Why only muslims ??

I still get followed(STALKED) in stores that I regularly spend a good amount of money in.. I can't stand it.. We had one of the grocery store staff asked by management, to run out and flag my cab because i had looked at a toy but ultimately decided not to buy it.. They assumed i stole that giant toy.. That I totally didn't end up buying with my $220 worth of groceries.. Ridiculous! I regularly spend my fair share!!

I agree with this law. For safety reasons. I have a few muslim women friends including two females family members that are muslim and they dont cover their faces. They also agree with this law. we all have the right to see the face of whom is around us. I also know one woman that is not muslim but dresses and covers her face like one. Why she does that I and my neighbours dont know why. She does not talk to anyone about it and only dresses that way when she goes out of the neighbourhood. What are her intentions to do such thing? She is portuguese does not speak arabic only portuguese and broken inglish. When we ask her why she does that we are told to mind our business. We feel that it is our business because she is very strange and like i said before she only dresses that way when she goes out of the area that she lives in. What is she up too? And like her how many more is out there doing this and why? Whthout any offence to the muslim people SAFETY should come first to everyone.

Such generalizations. After listening for just one minute I conclude that you found out that lumping everybody into the same basket was stupid but it took you 25 years to find that out. Wow! More people are killed or injured traveling in car than in a mountain bike. There are 50 states in the USA so most statements you make may refer to just one or two states. Canada has 10 provinces and the health care is slightly different in each province. Wait until you have lived in any country for a few years before you can talk authoritatively about it. Canada is a good country to live in so is Australia but even better are some or the northern or western countries in Europe where health care is affordable and good and food is affordable and good. The USA has more millionaires and billionaires and a lot of them are in government. Think about that. Lots of guns and judging by the news quite a few racist cops who never get punished. Think about that too. Bad water in many places; also worth thinking about. There are more lobbyists than there are legislators and they all make money; think about that and ask yourself why.

Being a Black Lady in America has not affected me negatively. I believe that is some white women especially don't like me because I walk with my head up. I give off an aura that they cannot stand. After looking at me funny, asking me questions, they stop talking to me. (they did me a favor) Some say, where are you from? Yes I am from JA. Hey! You can't touch this. Black America always talk negatively about one another. I say to some of them, if you guys don't like each other, how do you expect people to like you?

I find it hard to see Islamic belief as a religion. Because you never hear of near death experience! All near death documentation, in both the sciences and secular information. Says that one either goes to hell, or gets to meet a being of light, Jesus . I have searched for years, for this information in my studies. AND IN MY 30YRS OF STUDY HAVE NEVER FOUND ANY, I have asked Moslum friends directly. But they too have never heard of anyone with a different experience then those I've above mentioned. Why is this?

I'd like to address this to the woman who went to one of Trump's rallies dressed as a Moslem with her head covered with a scarf and having a sign that reads, 'I come in peace'. I don't know why she was asked to be escorted out, but by her own words the people in the crowd were throwing questions at her as to whether she had a bomb under her cloak. Well, whether she knew it or not, she provoked the crowd by wearing the mark of a Moslem - her cloak. Also, by going to the rally dressed the way she was, she knew before hand that she'd be treated that way. On her part, I see that as provocation. Had she gone plainly dressed or attired like everybody else, there would have been no adverse reaction toward her. I don't know what she could have said why she was asked to be escorted out, but she fully knows that the whole of America had been given the real and true picture of Islam - one of terror, murder, beheading, bombs, war, and blood. How do Moslems expect the most compassionate, kind, benevolent people in the world to act? So, please, use your common sense and do not see America as the enemy, the aggressor, or the provocateurs. They're not. They are just being vigilant knowing that the enemy could be so sly, cunning and untrustworthy. Islamic people,we welcomed you to our country. Don't think that we are not watching you. The thing is you hear things about ISIS or hamas and you try to separate it and say that it only the extremists, when in fact the moderates still support it. when speaking to a muslim friends of mine i asked her if your book says killing is wrong then why is there so much of it in islam? to my dismay she said that as long as they're killing for her religion its ok and that she supports things like the charlie hebdo shootings. She claims to support freedom of speech, but in reality, only things that are not opposed to islam. tried telling her if you ant talk about something freely then it isn't freedom of speech but she couldnt comprehend that. its disappointing to see that even though they are not the ones directly in the terrorist groups, they still support what they do.

I just wonder why? Why Muslims? I mean every religion has the extremists! I know Muslims has the fair share and maybe more! But so what I am scared... Scared to wear a hijab in public because a person in my class. Someone I thought was a friend asked me what religion I was. I answered Muslim. He critiqued me he swore and called me a terrorist. In front of my best friends face. She didn't do anything... People seem to believe what ever is put on the media. Yeah we have terrorists but who doesn't! So what we have our religion you have one too. So what I just wonder. Why dose it have to be Muslims?
