I don't find ample attempts by the German government to fill the shortage! India itself has the capacity to fill up the void. But, Germany does not allow freshers or people with 2-3 years experience. Then how is it going to work? I am a Data Scientist, I have passport, I want to learn German language to go there but I do not have that much experience. I do not see the German government bring any opportunity for proactive people like me to go & work there & integrate with the society. Rather, they welcome illegal immigrants !

The western world should be proud of its OWN population. There is NO need to bring in other people.

Isn't it already super restrictive and not easy to get into the country for the immigrants? Only highly educated, young people with rich parents are welcomed lol. They bring people from other countries, because there's not enough people to pay the taxes. The more taxes people pay the better educational and health system become, and overall societal infrastructure. Homeless people here most likely local drug addicts from poor areas of the city, immigrants are usually hard working and dedicated people. On one hand, the declining brith rate means we need immigration if we don't want the economy to crumble. On the other hand, there really isn't any available houses right now and bringing more people sounds like a bad idea at the moment.

We can’t bring in more immigrants. Our government can’t house people we have here now. We have a massive drug problem. We have a massive homelessness problem. We need Doctors NOW!

I think it boils down to the country unable to serve the people already here, so we should bring in more people, who will also be neglected.

Many immigrants have to bring alot of money and skills just to enter the rat race on the lowest level and be ripped off in pay dumping and rent hiking schemes. In the end everyone depending on income and on housing on rent or credit is put against each other while some make a awful lot of money doing nothing.\nAt least it would help if the create a sheme where people have to sign up to staying in places in the West for a couple of years where hands are needed.

Imagine if Canadians went to these people's countries en masse, worked all the jobs for cheaper, formed ethnic enclaves with businesses that didn't even include the host country's official language, refused to integrate into the host country's culture, refused to learn the language, refused to hire the host country's people, attempted to bring over their elderly, sick relatives who provide no economic benefit to strain the host country's social services, demand the host country change to suit Canadians whims, and after having ALL of these demands met, and being welcomed in with open arms, STILL played the victim and acted as if they were being oppressed

How is bringing in tens of thousands of Uber drivers and people with no skills supposed to make Canada prosperous ?? The hard-working taxpayers are supporting these immigrants and we are being drained!

Canada has to start recognising degrees from other countries. Here in B.C. we have emergency rooms closing overnight due to lack of staffing. We need doctors and nurses yet the barriers for those immigrating to get their degrees recognised mean many never qualify.\n\nCanada also needs to look at who we are admitting in and to terminate the family unification policy. When immigration was helping the country grow there was a different demographic coming in. Often it was single men or young married couples. As they came by themselves they assimilated into the mosiac of the country. When you concentrate on immigrants from one country instead of assimilating they setup ethnic communities. \n\nLook into what study groups have said that is contributing to gang violence. It's ethnic groups that have the grandparents, parents and grand kids all living in one home. The grandparents want the grand kids to adhere to their native culture. Unfortunately by time you get to the grand kids they are Canadian. They speak English/French depending where they live with little interest in speaking their ethnic language. There is cultural conflict within the home hence street life is where they find love and caring.\n\nSome cultures are not as community minded. Part of the high cost of renting/housing is based on greed not need. In my own community I know of apartment units now renting at 2,500 - 4,000/month owned by the same people that even five years back you could have rented for 500 - 800. There is no justification for that percentage of increase other than greed.\n\nJob opportunities. Summer employment for school kids is going down yearly. You see local business that use to hire students over the summer month claiming they can't find any workers. They bring in TFW yet Canadian students can't find work. You can tell the owners nationality of a business by the nationality of the workforce. A local store bought by a east Indian two years ago which at the time had a diverse workforce is now entirely staffed by east Indians. Yet who screams racist? \n\nCanada definitely needs to reconsider its immigration policy and bring in major changes.

You can't build an economy through population growth when the government decides to bring in 3% of the population per year in low skill, temporary students and workers to help inefficient businesses suppress wages for low skill work.\nYou can't build housing when the fees and taxes on each new build are equivalent to 30 years of property taxes. \nYou can't build housing when zoning only makes highrises with 400-500 sqft units financially viable, which are then bought by wealthy homeowners to rent out for profit. \n\nThese policies are designed to benefit wealthy incumbents (mostly boomers and seniors) and are targeted to transfer labour and income from younger people and new entrants (immigrants) to the wealthiest people at the top. \n\nThe people who benefit represent a large voting bloc and most politicians are from this class of people who are making out like bandits. \n\nThis is why nothing is changing.

Bring back native peoples

Country of 40 Million can't build enough houses for their own population. Government brings in 1 Million more and subsidizes their housing costs. ?Can't figure out why people would be against that.

No wonder places like Vancouver or any of the bigger cities have a lot of homeless. When people can't afford to live in Vancouver or Toronto they bring their problems ? other cities like in places like Calgary.

Immigration is always a short cut to avoid tackling the right problem. Canada is a country of many opportunities. My observation is that people are not making effort to work harder, too many regulations also limit companies to make great innovation that brings wealth here. viscious cycle - canadians can't afford to have children so bring in more people drives up inflation more

The immigrants that are coming here feel scammed, the older citizens have seen our infrastructure crumble, and our country-born youth are watching their hopes at a decent life fall away. Literally everyone is losing when you bring far more people into a country than its infrastructure can support. There is nothing racist or emotionally charged about that statement.

I’m an immigrant we came in 1982 , but the problem now is a lot of people here don’t want to integrate with Canadian society and want instead bring their own beliefs. Part of being an immigrant is to assimilate into the culture and not be an outsider. To me Canada is home , this is where I met my wife and my children are born. But you have to work for it because nothing is free. The key word is to become one of us , to become Canadian ??

The final scene at the new Canadians rally is nice to see. But what you’re not seeing are the THOUSANDS of people who aren’t success stories. People who bring nothing to the party but still need a place to live. I’m fine with immigration, I think Canada is a better place for being diverse. But you can’t just keep the tap on when the glass is already full. We need to turn off the immigration spigot for a while, catch up to get our services and housing to a level that is workable, then look at turning it back on with a smarter outlook on the numbers to bring in.

i just asked a.i why construction costs are through the roof and one of three reasons is increased fuel costs ... and shortage of construction workers ... the real problem is the supply and demand ... if you don't agree people should think about what happens when not enough people are buying something at the retail stores - the thing will go on sale. Man I love reading the comments in this video! We also face a similar challenge in other countries that housing is a crisis and governments keep bringing in all sorts of immigrants, from refugees to highly skilled people (like myself). I have switched 5 cities and the story either gets more worse or less worse. Half a year searching for a decent apartment? Some search for years! It's a full time job. The government gets back to my request after many months! Foreigners offices are packed with applications and citizenship is taking years long now. Getting a doctor appointment (psychological issues) within a year is hard, unless you pay from pocket or are in grave danger. We are being squeezed in here and they started new loose immigration policies to be more attractive to foreigners. Address the quality of life at the same time!

Yall are coming to canada and we are trying to get out. You are not doing yourself a favour by coming here, this is not the same country it was years back. People here have become more american; rude, disrespectful, overly egotistical, our streets arent safe anymore, car thefts at an all time high and no one talks about the amount of random acts of violence coming from the homeless in my area, housing prices surging YoY by atleast 11%/year. Cost of living has increased 4-10x on certain things in the grocery stores. I love how everyone thinks their country is great till it isnt then flood somewhere else and bring all the issues and problems with them

When I came to Canada as student 10 years ago I \n- never planned to work part time when I was in school. I only made the move when I had enough money to live and thrive without off campus jump\n- I am SHOCKED when people say they aren’t prepared. Where is google buddy. \n- I was planned enough to not take up any low skilled jobs. Today I earn in 6 digits. \n- As immigrants we need to also accept Canadian values and not bring our crazy practices from back home. Grow up buddies.

Canada has a massive immigration problem right now. There is a student visa loop hole thats just been fixed where people would get a student visa at some 3rd party “institution” then bring their entire family along with them on open work permits.
