I live in the US and it's no Paradise it may be a little better than Canada in some ways financially but the US and Canada basically have the same economic and employment system I would like to move to a country like Rwanda or the Philippines ultimately with my savings stable countries with low cost of living

I remember a time when the cost of living in Canada was much more affordable. I also remember a time when we didn't wait so long to get our free healthcare. The healthcare issue started many years ago when some old Conservative dude was in charge and he decided the best way for us to save money was to take it out of the healthcare funds. And then everything went ?with our healthcare. The cost of living was always high but it was balanced with our incomes. But it just absolutely ridiculous since Covid! I have to take on part time work on top of my full-time job now just to afford my increased cost of living!!

You want more exciting things to do yet you say you have no way to save. If you really dislike Canada so bad, why are you here ? I don't think we force people to stay.

Hello everyone...I've been to Canada,  and back in South Africa,  a failed immigrant,I'm a finance professional.  The country is inviting thousands especially from the subcontinent so they bring and burn all their savings in Canada.  Its not about how hard it is or how quickly you can get into Canada. Its about what you will do there. There are simply not enough jobs for skilled educated workers  , its ok for meat cutters and other blue collar jobs who have nothing to lose,but not for qualified professionals.  It's a harsh,  unwelcoming country where Ex professionals from India end up driving taxis. My advice...if you are a professional degreed worker in India,  Please do NOT move to Canada unless you have a confirmed job offer or have done your research.  Do your math about salary vs. Living expenses. Good luck. Don't jump into a lake if you can't swim...

This is such bullshit. nothing you say makes sense . All countries have the ups and downs . There's no reason why you can't save money in Canada maybe you should read the book The Wealthy Barber and you should learn more about money. I am near retirement and it is such a treat not to have to worry about paying for anything and having a guaranteed income when I re— . Embrace the climate and learn to do things that are compatible with the climate if you need to play overseas for short periods of time to get extra warmth in the winter if you need it . this constant bitching is not helpful to anyone . Even in the United States the wait times could be 8 hours in emergency . I am a surgeon so I know. What you doing have is your private insurance company denying you coverage and you have to refer to them every time when you need a particular blood test done. I can have my patients have MRIs or CT scans within 2 days if they need is there a giant . What you need is Doctor Patient Advocates. If your doctor cares he can pull the strings to get you earlier appointments if needs be . there is nothing about this video that makes sense and I would not trade this country for the world Allen speaking from the point of view that I have lived in the Prairies where it gets to minus 30 degrees Centigrade interior with muggy in the summer Newfoundland where did the fog is so thick you can cut it with a knife and I know live in Vancouver an embrace the rain when it comes I don't even notice it . Learn to live and learn the ins-and-outs of monies and you'll be much happier you are way too frivolous about this this country I consider to be if not the best country on Earth pretty close to it and we do not have the reason that you have in the United States . Canada's Cost of living is Joke compares to here in Sri lanka an Average Srilankan Salary is 200$ per month but 1 liter petrol cost more than 1$ imagine how hard it is live here in Sri lanka not only that we import 90% things foreign Countries so Food,Electronics, etc are unimaginably Expensive for example our Government is adding 300% Tax for Vehicles .even though I'm earning 6000$ per month its still not enough for my needs I have to pay like 60000$ to get Canadian Visa But I don't wanna disrespected by some Racist scumbags I'll do anything against people who disrespected me untill they say sorry to me because to me Respect is Everything in My country we Respect Every one we still have Scumbag Human being they are like less than 1% . your Information is very useful for me I'll never come to Canada I was ready to get the Canadian Visa thank you for saving me

Very good video. I am an Australian citizen, and I share your views. Also I want to add another reason why I prefer Canada than Australia. Being originally from Peru, I currently live in Peru, my wife is also Peruvian and a baby with 5 month at the time of writing, however there is no family reunion visa to take my whole family (only my baby who will hold Australian citizenship but not my wife) so I cannot take them both, because migrations force my wife to apply to the Partner Visa, that cost AU$7850 (US$5,600) plus agent fees, documents, ticket price, and other cost. Also the waiting period is about 24 to 28 months. So if I return to Australia, I first need to find a job, then save the $5,600, send and amount of money to Peru during my absence, then wait about 2 years and spend about $10,000 to $15,000 extra to bring my family to Australia. The cost of waiting carries a lot of anxiety, health issued due to the uncertainty and may damage my marriage, And if I get to my wife a Visitor visa, she is not allowed to work and study, and I must pay private insurance, and for experience, private insurance policies and gap costs are very high. Of course visiting my family every 6 months is costly and timely prohibited, an economic flight from Australia to Peru costs about US$2,500 and takes about 1 day or 38 hours, add also the jet lag and day difference.\nIn contrast, Canada allows me to take my whole family in just 3 months, my wife can get a working visa, and if we decided to reunite in 6 o 9 month, I can go to Peru every long weekend to visit my family, a flight from Toronto to Lima is about $500 return and only 8 hours so I can go to Peru and come back to Canada in a long weeked, a luxury imposible to do if I lived in Australia. \nWhen my father passed away here in Lima, I was in Australia at university, and due to cost and time, I couldn't go to give him a farewell and to his funeral, a issue that regretted; for that reason, my mother-in-law, who needs care and being my wife, her only child, after facing my own experience, we decided that Canada and not Australia, is a better choice, if something happens with my in-law, from Canada my wife can see her quickly.\nThank you for sharing in this video

You both make valid points about Canada. I am 2nd generation Canadian. I do feel like its expensive here and Even I have a hard time landing a job. (Recently got laid off from my career job, they said I didn't have enough experience to work there). My friends who aren't single and live with their partner, have an easier time living here compared to people who are single & living by themselves. \n\nNight life is boring here. However, daytime life specially in the summer is better. I feel like Canada is more for an outdoor person. Depending where you live, there are beaches, mountains, trails, & lakes to explore. Some parts of Canada even look tropical! We have hot springs here as well!\n\nFor the leisure & work life balance, I feel like that depends on the person. I used to work 2 jobs (not because I was bored or needed the money at the time), I just wanted to save more money & help my friend out with his business. I felt like I had good balance of work & leisure. I hanged out with my friends on Friday & Saturdays then I had my 'me' days on Sundays.\n\nIf you are going to move here, do your research, also I don't think people consider their countries dollar into the equation, what I mean is, if you want to convert your money to Canadian... you might have less money then you have. Example, at this moment, 1 Mexican Peso is 0.066 Canadian dollars, therefor people coming from Mexico might have a hard time afford things in Canada compared to a person who is moving from USA. Canada has sky high immigration because it is a failed state, the population was declining. Immigration is basically all that is keeping the country from imploding. They will let in anyone because they are desperate to keep the tax base growing. The landmass itself is gorgeous, but the quality of life continues to deteriorate by the day. The country is run the by Royal Family, Trudeau is just a stooge people elect to grovel to the Queen and her son, he has no power. They are confused environmentalists, they want to grow their tax base and keep the country from imploding, meanwhile they want to use as little land as possible to do it. So you get stacked and packed into a condo and get worked nonstop and taxed so hard you can never accumulate enough savings to stop working. The whole country is a slave colony really. I'm leaving Canada shortly, I don't recommend it as a long term place to live, no one is really happy here.

Don't come to USA its the same way but worse. The rent is very high. I can save you a trip. I was born and raised here in USA. Texas and Las Vegas would be good for you two. But people work like dogs with no benefits in Vegas. Only a few Jobs have benefits. I lived there. Also do your research here. Food prices, gas, housing is expensive. . People work paycheck to paycheck. It sounds like the healthcare is still the same since 2008 in Canada. They came here to get a procedure because Canada took to long. You tww are young and buetiful. My sister who works as an RN in Los Angeles told me that she has worked alongside Canadian, British, Aussie nurses in hospitals. California has the highest salaries for nurses in the US if not the entire world. At the height of the pandemic it wasn't unheard of for some of them to make $100/hour. Canada has been losing a lot of experienced healthcare workers to the US and this is partly the reason why their system is at a breaking point. It seems to me that Canada even with it's high cost of living and taxes is still attractive to folks coming from developing countries coz a single person who saves an average of $500/month is still better off than living in their home countries. But there've been thousands of cases of folks coming from Europe, Oceania and well-off countries in Asia who surrendered their PR cards at Pearson and other ports of entry.

I live in the UK which is 6 hours to Ivory Coast. I fell very homesick. We all face the same cost of living and practically impossible to save. I can hardly cope living in Canada which twice the distance of travelling from here to Abidjan. Do not forget the high cost of getting a ticket to travel. I think many people have been trapped and feel disillusioned in Canada, impossible to get out.

You started the video with an opinion not a fact. You can In fact gain wealth here. You have access to RRSPs and tax Free Savings accounts to help with Taxea for people earning over 6 figures. No one has tries to take your money, the policies are clear as day. You also have access to the Canadian stock market where they will allow you to keep 50% of your excess and tax the other 50%. Your statement needs way more context and a broader discussion. Stil love the video but we need to state all the facts. Also the mentality of me paying taxes and taking care of people is what causes my home country on Jamaica to be in trouble. Your little tax money ain't taking care of anyone. There are over 23 million people here trust me we are giving cents to initiatives in Canada. Quality of life, Security, Health Care, Children Support, Old Age Pension, access to great jobs if you are will to put in the work and start over. Again we can't come here and expect to just fall in. You just joined a line of thousands of people in your career field who have been fighting to get great job opportunities. You have to fight and you will be okay. ALL TRUE. I left Canada for the States in 2021. Single RN no dependents here, no chronic disease. There was no sweet spot for me back home. Working extra shift or working according to my FTE has always been a dilemma. Coz the more money you make the more you are being taxed. At some point, it felt like I was just working for my bills and for other peoples’ social benefits/health care. I wasn’t saving up more. I wasn’t building wealth. Definitely the safest and one of the best BUT that’s if you are WILLING to pay the price. Here in the States, I can pay my US and Canada bills at the same time. Can’t do that back home ??. Sad but TRUE.

Well said I understand that my Brother whole family migrated to Canada and I observed their lifestyle all debt and I hardly see if they have enough savings sad to say. At any rate would rather stay in village and tend my own vegetable farm with livestock than living a stress life on city. That's my childhood dream to work in US or Canada but when I became professional and started earning travelling most of the time domestic and international routes I realised that I will be on my own rather than slave or employee for the rest of my life. I don't know why people complain about taxes and all these deductions on incomre....every country has taxes. It's just that it's easy to avoid taxes in some countries than it is in Canada. So you never feel the bite.. In my country, we pay 30% income tax, 18% VAT, 5% NSSF(The rest is paid by the employer), 12% internet duties etc etc..... I can list a lot. ...What saves us in my country is that food is relatively cheap, otherwise taxes are everywhere

I left Canada for Southeast Asia in 2019, and I'm not going back. The career opportunities and savings are much greater in other countries. My phone bill, internet bill, healthcare, etc. is much better in Asia. Plus I don't need a car here. The savings on that alone are nuts.

I was in Canada for 10 years which I considered lost years. Many of my friends also are in the same situation, we all lose our health, saving, confidence and many other aspects of our own personality. We can not blame Canada though as it is the same everywhere in the world. If you do not have to then do not move to Canada. People leave Canada,no jobs discriminations all levels, harsh 6 months winter, auto - home insurance very high basic foods like milk cheese gas , cheap in USA than Canada , house prices and taxes higher than USA , better medical treatments, you pay insurance and get better service, you will save money to buy insurance , cars , gas, insurance prices lower than Canada In Canada nothing is free you. Pay in taxes and worst service you getting, try to move to South sunny weather choose smaller or medium size city , lots of jobs ,lower prices house and taxes , you will have more savings in your account .

Facts are in 2021 Canada welcomed over 400 thousand new permanent residents. We printed over 400 billion dollars in the last two years. The average time for a permit to build a new house is over 6 months. What I don’t understand is that we welcomed all the new immigrants while in a housing crisis if a hotel is full do they still keep renting rooms? We printed 400 billion dollars to pay for Covid where if we would have just used masks and washed our hands we could have saved 400 billion dollars. With Canada having one of the world’s lowest population to land mass and tons of natural resources I can’t understand how we can’t cut costs shorten wait times on permits.

I'm not 100% regretful living in Canada. I managed to get a full time job even without going to College or University. The more money you make, the more taxes you are going to pay. You have many opportunities if you are not lazy. Prayers work all the time. Just enjoy what you have and not be so materialistic, you will survive if you have faith in yourself. Spend less and save for rainy days.

Canada is very immigrant friendly in terms of accepting immigrant to come yes but why ? well because immigration is a big business for this country who has not much technology export and in the same time is second biggest country in the world with population less then California alone . Canada is a land with great resources, great opportunity and potential, but for a place with so much supposedly smart people they do alot of dumb things. Been here 7 years now and I have seen so many issues that have obvious solutions but because of some weird culture or heritage or whatever they just keep doing the same thing until it hurts them. The real estate market is an absolute MESS and everybody knows. Money laundering, realtors colluding to set prices, blind auctions etc you name it. But they are just gonna keep doing the same thing until the country is in a major recession. Then everybody is going to be crying for bailouts. The health system is a MESS. Trying to find a doctor is like finding a needle in a haystack. They have them driving taxis instead, claiming that their qualifications arent as good. Yet they dont have enough doctors or nurses to support anything. Coworkers whose spouses work in those industries let me know they have to be working ridiculous shifts because there are not enough people. The taxes are ridiculous. I work in I.T. and taxes are like roughly half my salary. Many coworkers have told me all the illegal stuff they do to get around the taxes. Which I don't do because I wasn't raised like that. But people get taxed so much everyone is doing some thing to try to bypass it. And if you dont know the tricks or dont want to do them, you just get screwed. People don't talk about real issues here. There is alot of fake positivity and optimism because they dont want people to get sad and suicidal from the really long and harsh winter. I used to wonder why there were so many train delays until some one explained to me that many people commit suicides in winter by stepping in front of the trains. The only thing propping up this country is the constant influx of immigrant slave labour through the college system, (Like a ponzi scheme). But the immigrants are going to stop coming here if they cant even afford to live at all. Even the regular citizens cant afford it. So what will the country do after that, since there is an elderly population and not enough people to support the industries? Right now most of the immigrants come here and save up there money to go somewhere else or back home after they realize what a shitshow it is. I even have coworkers born and raised in Canada who are telling me they want to leave. Canada needs to stop patting itself on the back for doing stupid apologies and stuff like that, and actually do economically sound things to stop digging themselves into this hole. Great potential for this country but I don't know if it will ever be realized.

I’m contemplating leaving after 16 years here in Canada. I’m finding it impossible to save money here. The pension provision in my home country is far superior to Canada. I see Canadian seniors living in poverty every day in my work. I interact mostly with seniors in my professional life, I have not seen people in my home my country struggle to make ends meet as I do here. It’s not the future I plan for myself.

Great video, balanced opinions! One more reason immigrants leave after many years in Canada is not enough savings / years of work for retirement. In their home countries their pensions and savings last much longer. That being said, Canada is a great country to live in.

The single biggest reason not to come to Canada or even stay here as an immigrant is HOUSING. Immigrant destination cities like Vancouver and Toronto have house prices over $1.2m which basically means it will take you 30 years to save for a downpayment and 100 years to pay off a house. Yes, 100 years on an average pay. Rents are insane as well so unless you want you and your future generations to slave away, don't come to Canada. The only affordable major city for immigrants in Canada is Calgary but good luck finding any non oil related there and living at -20C for half the year. In short, HOUSING alone is a good enough reason NOT TO MOVE OR STAY in canada.

okay, i'm gonna play the devil's advocate.... based on my experience of living and working in 2 cities of the East - Dubai and Delhi, i can say for sure that Canada is light years better than these cities ..... if ur worried about high costs in Canada, Dubai will scare the living daylights out of you. Dubai has a very unstable economy, absolutely no chance of saving, and no free government services. So in case you are diagnosed with a serious medical conditions may god be with you. I loved staying in Delhi while growing up, got some valuable life lessons, but for a working class person Delhi is nothing short of hell.

Many people leave Canada after having success for a number of years and return to their native countries at the time of retirement. Many immigrants acquired their citizenship, found good jobs, built savings and purchased homes. When they sell their home and consolidate their savings and investments, they return to their native countries with Canadian pensions and live like kings.

Everyone hires their own . Got my degrees from Canada and US , not jobs , the job market is struggling in both Canada and US. The opportunities now in Asia, better pay and more savings

I'm part of that statistic. I moved after 12 years in Canada. I moved to Asia with a one way ticket and have never looked back. One reason why I never thought about returning - one year where I live in Asia is equal to five years in Canada savings wise. Like that old joke back in the 80s, Canadians work for the Government for free six months of the year

Blonde Russian gal is super cute. And yes taxes are excessive in Canada but you'll be surprised to know that taxes in Scandinavian countries are even higher. Invest if you wanna save on taxes. I've done that in the US, UK and pretty much everywhere I've lived till date.

I have lived in Canada for 30 years. Things back then in 1989 were almost perfect. Housing, cost, jobs, healthcare. It's now getting worse and worse and no positive signs ahead. In the last 10 years until now, if you're sick ending up in hospital, be prepared to wait for a whole day for your turn. There were cases people waited too long to be treated and died (true story). Gasoline price now is $1.34/litre, the highest price in 30 years. Buses don't have transfer ticket like before. Everytime you change the bus to reach your destination you have to pay. Bus ticket costs $3.50 each. Food price is skyrocketing. Internet, cellphone plan cost you at least $60 per month. Salary doesn't increase high enough to cover higher cost of living. I can't wait to leave Canada. Hopefully I save enough money in 5 years.

You guys need to explain why Canada's waiting line is so long. Canada prioritizes the patients into the worst conditions first like cancer over a broken leg. Canada wants to save everyone and not leave any canadians behind, america is all about leaving americans behind to die to cant afford healthcare and to not being able to make a decent living. America is all about letting their own die. It wont change. Selfishness is america.

He is not talking about absolutely harsh weather…where you can not leave door without fully packed thats not 4 months or less you are talking about 8 months in canada…extreme weather, bad food, tasteless fruits and vegetables, no family support, kids living without cousins and relatives, if you want your children to be raised muslim you have to find good muslim school. A small house in canada would cost you a million which is about 12 cror that loan you will be paying for the rest of your life.
