In that case why did the Federal Governments of Canada created a delusion to migrants from around the globe stating that there is an acute labour shortage in certain high demanding job categories, encouraging all such applicants to apply through the Skilled labour Program introduced by the Federal Government of Canada,. as if there are shiploads of opportunities available just for geabs.\nSuch individuals are driven to state of utter despair or forced to get back to their home countries whereas here the federal Government of Canada is granting Asylum to all sorts of unskilled , uneducated and sometimes no literacy nor basic communication skills in English at all at the expense of the taxes and high tuition fees acquired from the student population as well as PR Holders who has incurred massive expenditure through the federal Government's detailed and tough assessment procedures just to gain entry under the stipulated visa categories. When I couldn't even invite close relatives to visit, and with no strong reason for denial but the only supposed trend by other visitors to stay their visit, I felt really disappointed and even wrote the Federal Minister of Immigration back then. Americans only feel the drags of refugees and asylum seekers (even though ethically we need to protect them) and there is no selected immigration to balance that out. Yet this round of Canadian policy change is heading exactly that direction.\n\nIt used to be international students in Canada are not paying a lot more tuition than Canadian students. But Canadian universities saw how much money universities in the US are making so they asked the federal government to change the policy to enable them to charge international students several times the regular tuition (whereas in countries like France, international students actually pay less than citizens). So now Canadian universities rely too much on international students to operate and it becomes an exploitative relationship even before students step foot on the campus. The new PGWP eligibility is awful because students can make contributions in every field. It might (and that's a big if) address the pressing problems, but it won't help Canada grow.\n\nI thought the new language requirement was interesting. Someone should let them know that so called better life is not waiting for them in Canada at least. We have plenty of our own political tensions, we're taxed to death, probably have the worst health care system in the world, extremely high cost of living, everything is expensive, the only jobs available are part time, crappy overpriced food, a housing crisis and brutal winters every single year.. Nothing but pissed off, miserable people here. Many Canadians I know have moved to India and love it. I am an immigrant turned Canadian. I had to score points to come here, and I gave a job interview and cracked it on day 3 after arrival. Paying hefty taxes, integrating with culture, following the law of land just to see this country turning into a mess! Seeing govt favoring frauds, leeches and unproductive foreigners over hard working and honest people.

The Ford EV one of my friends drive was made in Mexico. Another friend told me that her refrigerator and tv was made in Mexico as well. So, I think the general population is (including myself) a little ignorant about where the household items we use everyday come from. It's not just avocados, tomatoes, beer, and tequila and immigrants arriving from the southern border. As for Canada, we import most of our gas from there, as well as, precious metals. I suppose that if we are struggling financially now, what is coming our way might be a little worse for some people. I have friends that say that prices going up does not affect their budget at all. It does affect mine though. That's where we are.
