Want to charge 5 times,6times more to foreign students and why these foreign students pay such huge money bcoz they want a better life than india if canadians expect that they should leave after studies then its hypocritical bcoz its always give and take they spend such huge sum for better life if canadians dont want that ,thats fine its their country,there rules but they should implement harsh rules and tell at first itself while visa is granted for studenr that he/she will have to leave canada after studies and lets see how many students will come here to pay such huge amounts for studies and that will be an eye opener for both indians and canadians

Applying asylum on a student visa after entering canada is first huge violation of study permit.

This is very telling and confims what we already knew. Many students are NOT here to study. Most are not. Asylum? is their home country an active war zone? And is the war cause by Canada? If Canadians are struggling to make a living and to afford an apartment, let alone a house, then what do they think it would be better for them? And why does the government not take care of their own citizens first?

This has led to concerns about why Canada has become a hub for such activities and whether it is compromising its reputation as a developed country. There is no real shortage of labor in Canada; rather, it is the greed of some employers, often first-generation immigrants from poorer countries, who exploit cheap foreign labor and are not willing to pay fair pay to Canadian labor. These employers, along with immigration consultants, homeowners, and small business owners, perpetuate the narrative of a labor shortage to justify continued immigration for their profits but that immigration is tearing the values of our society apart. I fear, soon Canadian passports on the international airports will be treated like a third world country passport. This situation raises questions about the true necessity of immigration in Canada, especially when other countries do not seem to have the same demand. The influx of older international students, particularly from India, taking jobs that could go to Canadian youth, further fuels the debate.

International students have no rights to protest other than study, which is why they come in the first place. Canada or US didn’t go to india and say please come. I think Canada should stop taking students through consultants in India. It is in India that people are selling false info and the students are blaming Canadian government. Even India has immigration rules and they are also strict in enforcing. Plus international students have to pay 10x more in Indian top colleges than local Indian. Rules are rules and should be followed or don’t come.

I have lived in the USA all my life. First in New York then in California. Now I am a writer and book illustrator. I enjoyed visiting Canada but as I am a senior I am not welcome to move and live there from more then six months at a time.

2 days ago, a CBC report mentioned most of these illegal crossings are happening from Quebec and being done by nationals from India and Bangladesh who first enter Canada on student or visitor visa.

I'll tell you about prices in Canada. (please fact check me fellow Canadians, I wrote this in a rage. Also, most of this is from Ontario cause I live there) The monopolies here are insane. Highways that were built using tax payer money were sold to companies and now Canadians need to pay to us it. Most grocery stores are owned by a few major companies and I see butter prices rising every few months. A 1L carton of cream at my local store is $8! I won't talk too much about housing cause it's obviously sh**. I will say a couple of years ago the Premier of Ontario, Doug Ford (my greatest enemy), was releasing the protection of the green belt, a protect part of Ontario used for agriculture. He said he would use it to build new homes, great right? NOPE. First of all, the green belt is used for food to reduce prices for Canadians cause its local. He has stated he would move it to another location but that land there is less fertile. The worst thing is, the reason he is saying he would use the green belt to build houses is because the land there is very valuable. And guess who owns that land? His BUDDIES! That means he would sell that land to developers and his buddies would get all the profit cause the money developers use to buy the land will directly be put on the buyer. Not to mention, Doug Ford, the same person, since his instatement as premier, has cut the Ontario education budget by 50%. 50%!!!! ABSOLUTELY UNREAL. Can't even afford air conditioning in schools where the weather is so extreme. Rogers? The largest internet provider in Canada? Absolutely cr*p. So many complaints about bad connection and cutoffs which I also experienced when my mom bought one of their products and my internet was sh** for a couple of months. The ONLY, and I mean only, good major thing Trudeau has done is legalize marijuana. Another thing I forgot to mention is that our government is made up of criminals. Doug Ford, he and his family use to partake in drug dealing. Another major complaint is the ttc which is public transportation costing so damn much! As a student, it costs me over $1000 a year to get to school using the ttc. The times aren't even that great either as even on a major road, I had to wait 25 minutes to get a bus. Thats my rant.

Before moving to Canada I hired an English profesor for private classes. On the last class he gave two pieces of advice for when I arrive:\n\n1- Get on the line\n2- Act like the monkeys\n\nThe first means to wait for your opportunity not rushing to conclusions on why you are not getting what you believe you deserve. \n\nThe second, instead of trying to do things your way, look at what others do and imitate them. \n\nIf you are not willing to do these, you better stay home.

If you go to Delhi on a visitor visa, why would the Indian government approve you of a post-graduation work permit or permanent residency? This is because India is not a country who have policies or programs for student visas or permanent residency for immigrants. Yes, indeed, they should not demand permanent residency, but it is not the students who make these immigration programs including student visas or temporary work permits or pr, it's the Canadian government who introduced all these policies, and if somebody is applying for student visa and spending $50000 for studies, they are applying because they see potential for permanent residency and that's how immigration websites do the marketing for attracting the international students. If they had known that work permits or pr is not possible through any programs, they would not have applied at the first point. It's the government's responsibility to make it clear on their policies or on immigration websites. Now they started making it strict by closing those programs but it's too late, what about the people who are already here invested their money. They did not enter Canada by just waking up one day and thought lets go Canada. The government welcomed them and they approved them. The argument of the reporter is totally wrong because they did not know that they would face hatred or racism when they applied for student visas. Now they saw a large population and started hating.

I'm sure this is hilarious for Canada's First Nations population to watch.

Frankly why has Canada allowed in SO MANY people from a few specific countries under the pretense of studying if the gvt knows so well that is not what many if not most intend to do in the first place? Thank you for sharing! I had to leave Canada after a short stint due to personal reasons. I really enjoyed the work culture there and my salary was definitely way better than the one I used to make in Italy. Having an internationally recognised MSc, I felt valued for the first time ever and did not have any issues securing a job. However, the housing crisis was something I was not ready for. Never struggled so much to find a place to rent (and it was not even a big city). Grocery prices were also pretty scary. Canadian taxes were not a problem as Italy has a notoriously high taxation.

Don't blame the people... and blame your government policy. Government should brings those people who can help shape a better country instead of those refugees. The problem that I have seen is that - We accepted far more refugees than the genuine individuals. We chased investors/skills people away and we pay for those refugees with no background check and they lived on our finance system. Canada should look after their citizen first before dumping money into warfare(F35), Ukraine (a war can't never be won)...more dialogue instead of sanctions, lower the taxes so we all can live and pay affordable taxes. Better health care system where one don't have to put on a waiting list for a family doctor, waiting 8 mos or 3 years for a specialist. The system now is broken and will take years to be fixed.

First of all, taxes are not what you say they are. Yes it depends on your income and age. If you're telling me you earn 50K and 40 to 50% of that goes to federal and provincial taxes I'd say ...not so fast. That said why are you not putting this so called forced tax acquisition into RSP's during the year? Yes Vancouver changed significantly after EXPO 86. I also remember being able to walk the alleyways in the dt east side back then with minimal fear for my safety. Certainly wouldn't do that today. As for moving away from Canada. Go if that's what works. If the country doesn't suit your personality, sort it out. Ayn Rand's Atlas shrugged seems a real option to consider today. The problem is you'll never find any country of substance that doesn't take your taxes by force.

Firstly your country has a very stupid policy on international students. All most all of them come there for economic reasons. They enroll in stupid courses which in any case will not contribute to your country. Why can’t you have a system where their attendance in classrooms is kept a track of and any one having less than say 75% is warned and after three warnings sent home. Once they successfully complete their course, they are given six months to stay and then sent back. Keep only the ones who can be of asset to Canada. Else your country will soon become another country like the UK is now.

This is very true. Most no frills are now owned by Indians and they only hire people from India that don’t speak any English. Immigrants used to come to Canada and learn English right away but looks like Canadians will have to learn Punjabi first WTF
