As someone from Canada, I will say Alberta is 'Trump' republican county of Canada, with lots of redneck white supremacists. They behave exactly like Trump supporters there, with lots of Trump supporters. Edmonton is a city in Alberta, so there you go!

Lots of gun toting militias out in Alberta and western Canada. I would have to agree that racism is prevalent in this country in a more subtle way.

Hello black women living in Leduc Alberta for over 20 year's . I'm from Toronto born in Jamaica . Now look nowhere is perfect there is racism everywhere, i found more in Toronto then Alberta. In Alberta the most problems i have is with dating but work wise i don't get the racism, its opposite. I get jobs because of my skin. I haven't been called the N word in Alberta to my face anyways and in Toronto too many times to count. I personally love Alberta and will probably retire here. I treat everyone i meet with respect and I've been given the same. I really wish that everyone could just get along and stop with the colors of skin BS and just be kind to each other.

Hold on now I will agree white Canadians are passive aggressive (sneaky) she called it but as a black American who has lived and worked for 28 plus years in Canada (Ontario) Alberta is the Texas of Canada so hill Billys rednecks not the most sophisticated people in the country I’ve never felt discriminated against and have always found great employment here . As a person of Colour in a mostly white country it’s not realistic to not expect some bigoted white peoples it’s just not, their the majority so their always going to be that way. But overall I never feel unsafe here in Ontario very diverse area lots of Muslims, asians, native Americans Africans and tons of Carribeans from all over the West Indies . It’s a problem white people struggle with but compared to my home country I prefer Canada, here you’ve got a chance where back in the states it’s literally dangerous to be too dark of different, sorry for her experience leave Alberta come to Ontario, you’ve got a safe home here.

Alberta is known as the Texas of Canada.

Why would anyone invest in a business with hostile governments everywhere and Trudeau in league with the NDP? Maybe in Alberta, but their premier seems equally deranged.

I am a black south african and live In Edmonton Alberta since 2010 I worked hard and built a life for my self and my family I have never gone through any racism in Edmonton Alberta Canada I have white black and native American friends if anyone should be complaining about racism in Canada it's the native American people let's not talk about how us as black people treat eachother that comes from different African countries we have no love for one another

Alberta is our alabama. You'll find the biggest concentration of redneck bigots and canadian trump retards in alberta. Its also the most americanised province.

Go to Vancouver or Victoria. They treat us much better there!!✌? Get out of Alberta!!

The problem is the USA gets to tell other countries how to be. Toronto has a carding process, Alberta, Saskatchewan, manitoba are all like Texas, can't say what is going on in Quebec because they see everyone as a enemy to their culture. You also have large Asian groups hating on Black and Brown people here. BC is better for blacks in the north but really sucks for natives. But it keeps getting worse when you see the influence those moving here from the US bring.

There are racists every where in the world its a sad but true fact. Western Canada in particularly has this problem within Canada. Alberta where she is located has a significant MAGA type presence of ignorant white supremacist and separatist types. They don't even like other white Canadians from other parts of the country. Canada as a whole though is far better than the US when it comes to acceptance of other cultures. As a Canadian I am sorry for this woman's familys experience, ignorance is not an exclusively American thing.

Yes bro this is the truth and nothing but the truth what this sister is saying I live in Alberta as well 11 minutes west of Edmonton. the stuff I have been through with these demonic soldiers it is unbelievable.
2023-05-15 5
The best province in Canada :is Ontario : lots of thinks to do and see and you can always find a job if you are not lazy. ..\nSecond is BC (accept the housing and hotel prices) and the third Alberta if you have a job and that means that oil industry is going ... - if not just go to Ontario.
2023-05-15 0
yea canada has become evil and difficult to live ..you have to be supper strong to live specially in alberta !
2023-05-15 0
They aren’t just in Edmonton, Alberta the ws are in Toronto, Ontario as well & heavy in Montreal, Quebec
2023-05-15 1
Canada and USA are just foreign occupied corporate colonial nation states in North America\nCanada has covert racism while USA is overt. Imo Alberta is the Alabama of the North.
2023-05-15 0
alberta is red neck country they vote conservatives ,,coinservatives are raciat
2023-05-15 0
She should just relocate her life will be better. Alberta is generally western and backward like some old Alabama. Even the Cree natives face the same treatment. Most people are ignorant. There’s a reason blacks naturally settled in the better province of Ontario, Quebec if you’re French speaker and British Columbia. Also New Brunswick Nova Scotia is still better than that cold Calgary.
2023-05-15 0
Actually, Edmonton Alberta is one of the most staunch conservative ( republican) parts of Canada. I have lived in a neighboring province for more than 60 years now and have observed them vote in conservative governments for all but about 10 of those years.
2023-05-15 0
It is also interesting that Alberta the the Province ie State that the sister is taking about also have the largest American born and American descended population in Canada. Attracted no doubt by the robust oil industry

*I'm Canadian, and I attest that if she was in Toronto instead of Edmonton she would not be experiencing this. Toronto is very multi-cultural and diverse. ALBERTA is a different kettle of fish altogether. Not all of Canada is like Edmonton, Alberta*
2023-05-14 0
alberta and the western provinces are all mostly red/conservative, they do not like Aboriginals, Blacks, east or south Asians. If you come to Canada come to southern Ontario, yet, as you know, if you are Black, you will not fully escape racism nearly anywhere.
2023-05-14 0
look bro .. be careful what you air .\n she is SPECIFICALLY talking about employees .\nAlberta is having economic issues and is predominately white . WHY THE HELL AREN'T ALBERTA BLACKS STARTING BUSINESSES ?\nBlack entrepaneurs need to be interviewed . NOT just employees . Of course employers are dicks . Always been that way .
2023-05-14 3
As a black woman who is born and raise in Canada, Quebec (Montréal area), I can confirm what she said. It’s not only in Edmonton, Alberta. It’s all over the country! The only difference between USA and Canada is that Americans recognize there was slavery throughout the history. Canada completely erased the slavery part as if there was no black slaves and etc.
2023-05-14 0
I AM FROM CALGARY ALBERTA AND THE PEOPLE HERE ARE VERY NICE NOW WITH THAT BEING SAID YOU WILL FIND RACISM BUT THEY ARE THE MINORITY HERE IN CALGARY NOW I LIVED IN MONTREAL AND THERE WAS DEFINITELY MORE RACISM THERE ESPECIALLY WITH THE FRENCH SPEAKING
2023-05-14 0
Girl your in Alberta, what did you expect? Everyone knows that a lot of them are racists. You need to come to Ontario or British Columbia where we thrive!
2023-05-14 0
Alberta is the Texas of Canada lol
2023-05-14 0
Alberta is the most conservative part of Canada though, it's not a liberal places .
2023-05-14 0
Alberta is a right wing conservative majority province. My grandmother was a black Jamaican. I have lived in Ontario, Canada for 36 years. And I haven't seen or experienced biting racism. Not all of Canada is f*cked up, just the political right!?
2023-05-14 0
In Edmonton Alberta cause it mostly white people up there black people fight to get through \nI live up there for 5 years \nI have to move back to Toronto ,Ontario \nWhere there most definitely black people here\nI have face racism in Edmonton alberta
2023-05-14 0
it's not just in Edmonton, Alberta; it's all over where there are them folks (white people).
2023-05-14 0
Fyi Alberta is redneck country ?
2023-05-14 0
As a Canadian, she is talking about Alberta, afterall, known as Little USA
2023-05-14 2
I’m a visible minority (East Indian) and lived/worked in Calgary, Alberta for 15 years as an executive in a mining company. I never once felt discriminated against. As a matter of fact, it was a great place to live in that regard. I lived in Quebec City for over 20 years. I can only recall about 1/2 dozen racially related negative events there - but it was also a very long time ago.
2023-05-14 0
Thank you, Sister. Fellow Canadian born national here from Ontario. I am MOST AWARE of what it's like in Calgary, Edmonton. You forgot to mention Quebec and the East Coast provinces. \nWe all know the Province of Alberta is Klan and White Nationalist country !!
2023-05-14 0
I've heard for a while Alberta in Canada was real bad. Real conservative
2023-05-14 2
Why the hell would you like in Alberta? Lol I live in Toronto and we are treated like kings. Out here it’s education status and eco status over race.
2023-05-14 3
I live in Calgary, Alberta 3 hours from Edmonton and what she is saying been a fact. WS especially feel slighted with the heavy immigration yearly as if they are being pushed out or replaced. I mostly do gig work so I don't have to deal with job market as is. They have alot of immigrants with 1 or 2 degrees working security, house cleaning with no way out and paying taxes to sustain their aging Canadian Caucasian population (45-80 year old) . It is in my opinion your typical ponzi scheme type hustle. The good paying jobs are given to them folks while you import highly educated populations from other countries and keep them at dead-end jobs like the US.
2023-05-14 0
What is she doing in Alberta...these negroes are bold nowadays....that's the Alabama of Canada smh.
2023-05-14 0
I've heard about Alberta being this way. Went to Edmonton once and saw a number of POC there. The jobs were well paying too. At a motel I went to I saw an indian at the front desk and was surprised. It is colder there too. One girl I met said discrimination in Edmonton was less, so go figure.
2023-05-14 0
Alberta is more right wing but I gotta say all the Africans I meet there are doing fine (employment wise). There are more POC in Edmonton also. I went to a hotel and surprise and indian was at the desk. I was surprised at how many POC were there.

I wish Canada did more R&D. We have the talent and brains to be innovative, yet so many of us go work in the oil & natural gas sector because it pays handsomely.\nAlso to live in the most scenic provinces like BC and Ontario is crazy expensive. We moved from AB to BC in 2009 which my parents bought their house for $550,000 that's situated 40km East of Vancouver, and today their house is valued at 1.4 million... almost 3 times the original purchase price in just over a decade. Now an adult, my wife and I were forced to move back to Alberta and leave our families because we simply cannot afford to rent there nor ever have an honest shot at saving enough money to buy our own place. It is what it is and I'm sure it's a common theme that's not only exclusive to Canada, but man, it does sucks. I'm happy for any immigrants to move here and call Canada their home too, but many are loaded with money and purchase numerous properties just to then rent it out at an absurd rate because they can. It's fueling the problem worst and making it unfair for the born & raised Canadians.

This hits close to home. I'm just about finished my engineering degree in Canada, where I was born and raised and my family has lived for 400 years. Outside of Alberta and Sask, nothing is affordable. And Sask is to barren to live in. I will almost certainly look South for work as this country continues to make itself completely unaffordable. As much as I hate to see it, I don't think i see Canada surviving in its current configuration for any longer than half a century.
