I think all things are possible when you are young and healthy. As someone with an unexpected chronic disease that showed up in my 40s I'm on immunosuppressants that are very costly. Thank God the gov't here covers them. With treatments every 6 weeks I have no freedom to leave. While that's taken care of, access to a family doctor or emergency care is horrible. Waiting a month for a doctors appt or having to spend 10 hours in emergency is not okay in a developed country.\n As a citizen you have Canada as a safety net, so its no big deal if you move and don't like it. I'm not sure where is safe in the world right now. A lot of people moved to Equador, and then boom the violence got out of control. Just my thoughts on things.

We are in the process of leaving Canada as well. Possibly permanent. We have come to Canada 22 years ago. We can live a good life with even one minimum wage when we first arrived Canada. It was a dream land for everybody. Today, we are double income professionals in Saskatchewan and still feel living standard is poor. Grocery price is 5 or 10 times as when we first come to Canada. However, salary of average family barely increase. The spending of government is just out of control and make everybody poor. Canada is on a rapid downhill path since Justin Trudeau become Premier Minister, I can't see this trend can be turned back in a short time.

People here are complaining about the need to communicate in German even when they are high skilled professionals who speak good or excellent English (?). Just wonder how it is the other way round: is it possible for an innovator/highly professional worker to find a well paid job in the USA or Canada just with weak or mediocre language skill in English but with excellent/good skills in some other languages? Are other languages appreciated in English speaking countries when it comes to salary or position?\nSomehow I doubt it.\nYet there are highly paid special workers in the industry (mining, building) that actually do not have so good language skills but can their job.

It's almost like our standards are more closely reflecting to the destabilized countries we provide immigration to. Who could have possibly foreseen this?

One thing about language skills is Germany needs people but they make it so hard to learn language here. Is it by Design? Or they are just ignorant because of their stringentness? Either you can work (that is temporary) and make a minimum living or stay on the road and learn language (which is also not possible withoutmoney). It is not very accomodating in that sense.

The Century Initiative demands that Canada reach a population of 100 million by 2100. That’s roughly a new Winnipeg every year for eighty years just to reach a completely arbitrary number with no infrastructure in place to do so. Hey! I live in Edmonton Alberta Canada,population around 1.2 million. We have a huge awesome river and river valley that is utilized year round. There are non stop festivals, right now we have the Cari West the largest Caribbean festival in western Canada. Our tap water is amazing, my daughter rents the main floor of a renovated house that includes a garage for 1,400 a month. Gorgeous south side neighbourhood within walking distance to anything. Lots of imperfections as it is a big city and yes there is crime but it does not define what I do and where I go except possibly late at night. The cold in the winter is tolerable for the most part but that doesn’t stop any one from outdoor activities. Just put your warm clothes on and just get out there. I get fed up with winter when it drags on but all of a sudden we’ve been having record breaking heat this summer so I am looking forward to Autumn. We’re 4 hours from the fabulous Rocky Mountains and the wonderful city of Calgary is about an hour 1/2 from there. Alberta is my province and Edmonton is my home. The rest of Canada varies from one province to another. PS. We’ve travelled to various locations in the U.S. and were always treated well and enjoyed our visits, just sayin!

They can pass close enough apparently for Latin folks or Basques. \n \nAfter the Brits took the Americas they gaslit their Ashkenazi cousins (who DO have European blood) into taking territory in Turkey and Syria and pushed them into Europe creating the conflicts that created WW1 and WW2. \n \nThese folks are extremely anti-European. We see them impersonating Spanish in South America. They are impersonating French Canadians in Canada trying to push for separatism from Europeans. They are in Russia causing racial conflicts in Russia possibly as Ingush and Dagestan peoples. It is very likely these are the folks that are attacking us all for racial hatred. Its clear they don't like Africa. Its clear they don't like Europe. Immigration is a privilege, not a right. It’s their country, their rules. \n\nI’m an international student too, and I’ve worked in the U.S. for 3 years on post-graduate work VISA on a high-skilled engineering position. But I failed to get my U.S. work visa since it’s a lottery process. Despite wanting to stay, I have no grudges against possibly leaving. It’s their house, it’s their rules.

Canada is already harbouring Indian separatists for political and diplomatic gain. Indian govt have already warned of such consequences in future. Because separatists has a mindset to create a new nation for their community wherever possible.

People complain about doctors leaving to the States for more money. But reality is, there is no job opening for new specialists finishing up fellowship. So they are pushed around diff hospital as part timer and they end up leaving. Family doctors are also pushed to become a hospitalists or to just become surgery assistant to avoid paperworks and fees that follow being family doctors. Our healthcare is becoming useless because our government is not grasping the reality.\n\nWe need more highways, a real metro system for to support its growing population with integrated infrastructure. If we need to construct more housing, make it possible for architects to build faster and make it easier to become an architect here too. What is wrong with our roads? As a permanent resident who immigrated from Eastern Europe, passed all the stages of the official immigration program (skilled worker) I'm just shocked what is happening in Canada. Canada is lost, the problem is much deeper than you think. The main problem is not low wages, high property prices, etc, the root cause is that native Canadians are too tolerate, too kind, too polite and can't just say (and act) - get fucking out of my country, all those illegal indian students and temporary workers. \nI believe cultural damage being done to this country is much more dangerous than any possible economic benefits from mass immigration. My purpose was to immigrate to Canada not to India, luckily I have a backup plan to return to Eastern Europe but I'm really sorry for the Canadian natives who are losing their country.

This is criminal...two sides of the story here i can assume...but both sides are at fault...the tenant is a criminal and the landlord should have done more...put pressure on the landlord and tenants court...the landlord and tenants organization is a joke...no one takes them serious because they have a huge back load of court cases is not an excuse...the government wants more housing with out properly funding the courts and they are costing owners money 3 fold. It's a systematic virus...these figures these landlords quoted do not even include the damage the location has after the entitled criminal tenant leaves behind. Also this is not a mental heath issue, its just a plain purposely planned out criminal act. If they are criminally charged and convicted i am sure they will be comfortable in a 10 X 8 cell for 2 years with free rent, utilities and 3 square meals a day. Zero-net population growth or very slow growth is desirable for a host of reasons. Immigration is not inherently a virtue. Not inherently a vice either. Its value depends entirely upon the context in which it is taking place. Here are some reasons why Canada should reduce immigration to achieve eventual zero-net population growth.\n\n(1) The ecology: Canada is possibly the world's worst country per capita in producing waste – certainly among the worst. (a) As of now we have a population of 40 million. At its present rate of growth our population will reach 50 million in 2041. This will require a 20% reduction in waste production per capita simply to keep waste production at the present level. This reduction will not happen. (b) In addition, freshwater resources cannot be expanded at all, really (desalinization can only produce a drop in the bucket). Hence, look for shortfalls in water availability. (c) From a global perspective, it is the rich countries, such as Canada, that pollute the most, both absolutely and on a per capita basis. Therefore rich countries should not increase their populations. Immigrants do not come to rich countries to be better ecologists than the citizens of those countries. Immigrants to Canada want to live like Canadians, as Canadians. The problem here is not that they will not assimilate to Canadian ways, but that they will. \n\n(2) Housing: with 500,000 new immigrants a year, housing starts cannot keep pace. The result: ever-inflating housing costs. Rich immigrants compound the problem. \n\n(3) Suburbanization: most of the new housing in Canada is in highway suburbs (over 80%), with their car-driven way of life. Once again, this is bad for the country’s ecological health. In addition, the result will be ever-growing geographies of nowhere. We will not be creating more Victorias or Quebec Cities. We will be creating more Surreys. \n\n(4) Downward pressure on the incomes of most people: the law of supply and demand is very simple: when there is a surplus of any commodity, that commodity becomes cheaper. When a commodity is scarce, its value rises. Labor is a commodity. Workers rightly do not want there to be a surplus of labor. Their livelihoods are threatened. \n\n(5) Future care of the old: the more people we add now, the more people we will have to take care of later, when their working lives are done. Adding immigrants now to pay for the care of the old is therefore a pyramid scheme. Eventually, in a generation or two, the population of the world is set to decline, and the well of immigrants will run dry. Canada should aim for fewer, rather than more, retirees – as preparation for that coming moment.

As a child of minority immigrants, I do believe that the balance has been overstretched. Also, people coming to any country should want to fully integrate as much as possible. I don't see that going well presently either.

Immigration has become an epically pivotal subject globally and yet it’s presented as a source of political ideology oppose to basic human dignity that without the promise of greener pastures where someone can start over and experience what other people experience, their greeted by border barb wire and intolerance, deportation, not to mention the perils of traveling choppy waters on insufficient crafts. The humanity in me says be grateful as a citizen that has been privy to a place where I can be sanctimonious about the possibilities of issues that someone will hypothetically solve.

********Important**********************Since I've been living in Canada for more than two years, the immigration protests you mentioned have occurred. To put it briefly, everyone moves to different provinces for PR, just like I did when I studied in Toronto for two years. The CRS score for PR is significantly higher there, and there aren't as many easy possibilities, therefore students there relocate. The protest is taking place in Prince Edward Island, where I moved a few months ago. They are protesting for the extension of their work permit and the opening of those easy PR draws, which are currently paused. I moved here in order to obtain PR, but I worry that this protest is inappropriate. Because everyone must submit a statement of purpose (SOP) when applying for a visa to Canada, and in that statement you clearly indicate that you will return to your home country after completing your studies and working there. However, if this statement is not clear, the visa officer may reject your application, stating that they believe you will not return home after completing your studies and working there. In order to avoid having our visa applications denied, we always attempt to assure the officer that we will return home. You have no right to request a PR, an extension of your work visa, or anything else if you have made this statement of purpose plain on your own. If you're thinking about moving to Canada, always make sure that the government is in charge. When I planned, getting our PR was simple, and now that they've changed the laws and regulations, they have rights as immigrants, so nobody should fight against getting PR and a work visa, etc.

Me and my family moved to Canada ?? 8 years ago. Today we have our own house, brand new car and some commodities. It has been tough to say the least. Competition with other immigrants on school spots, jobs, promotions, etc. All of us want to succeed, to live the Canadian dream. And to move up is possible but takes time, effort, and a lot of work.

That shouldnt be possible. It should be considered an invasion
