I hope you are happy moving to a Muslim country. Canada will get worse. Get your children out of there!!!

Hope you get your home in an Islamic country in the middle east. I really do not like the mixing of different cultures and more when Islamic people are so fundamentalist in their belief and lack tolerance to other people freedom. Hope all Islamic people live Happy in the Middle East instead of Europe or the Americas.

We live in Houston, Texas, where the culture is more conservative. Parents are not told how to raise their children, cost of living is still relatively good, and being Muslim (wife wears hijab) hasn't been as challenging as other places. \n\nPlenty of Muslims from all over, mosques, Islamic schools, halal food, etc too. \n\nMy parents moved my siblings and I from Los Angeles to Karachi, when I was 12. Not so much for religious reasons, more homesickness. After a miserable 15 yrs, I moved back to the US. \n\nI'm not trying to dissuade you guys. Wanted to share a few key things to help your transition:\n1. Pilot it out. Move to Istanbul for 6 months, then maybe Kuala Lumpur for another 6 months, etc. Test out each location. Inflation is everywhere. Not all Islamic countries are Islamic. But you have to experience it first hand. \n2. Take LOTS of money. A decent life outside the first world means you're loaded. \n3. Build connections where ever you go. The things we take for granted are luxuries elsewhere. Water, electricity, gas. Connections help you get what you need, sometimes for a price. \n4. Schools will be underwhelming. If you can homeschool, cool. \n5. If you start a business, go solo. Don't partner up with others. \n\nIn any case, hope it works out inshaAllah. Who knows, we may be neighbors!

Im a syrian , my country originaly is one of the best places which you can enjoy literally 4 seasons , mild winter and mild summer compared to other countries in the middle east , sytia also has a lot of natural and archaeological sites to whom is interested ..however two major factors are making me think of moving to another country -mainly are the wars inforced on syria to capture the rich mineral sources we have .\n-the inflation caused by the war , made it uncomfortable struggling to keep a least standard of living which becoming impossible to retain .\nTherefore , im also thinking of hijra ,hopefully to a country where ill feel safe and confortable to retire there..\nTop country id like to live in is malaysia , but im not sure how are the laws regarding foreigners getting residency etc..\nMay Allah help you and family , me and family getting the best as HE almighty knows what n where ..

Most of these students just use the student visa in hopes of getting permanent residency that will eventually lead to citizenship. Anyone wants a G7 passport and Canada is the easiest to get in terms of time you need to spend. \n\nAs for Canada its all numbers. International students equals free money. Money to schools to subsidize local students (foreign students pay way more) and of course while they are staying in Canada they need to spend but they don't get government benefits unless they are already a PR or a citizen.

I hope it worked out for you man… as a Canadian, I can say that as much as Canadians love to pretend like we’re super open and welcoming, that’s largely not the case. I’ve witnessed some really disgusting treatment of immigrants first hand, and I have a lot of friends/ coworkers who are immigrants from Latin America and the Middle East, and I’ve heard a lot from them about the micro aggressions that they get from Canadians everyday, the dirty looks they get when speaking their native languages in public, and the immense pressure to assimilate. What you were saying about feeling like you’re always reminded that you’re an outsider in Australia, I also hear that a lot from immigrants here in Canada… I hope that Canada can be a better place for you, and you can feel more at home here, but the u fortunate truth is that the idea that Canadians just welcome immigrants with open arms and that everyone is welcome here is largely a myth… a lot of Canadians unfortunately are just xenophobic, racist, nationalistic dickheads and they’re not shy about it

The best approach is to become wealthy and move somewhere with tropical weather. ❤ I get harassed by minorities everywhere I go. They bring their uncivilized attitude here thinking they can treat women like garbage and get away with it. ? I'm tired of fighting with foreign men not to harass me. Hopefully, climate change will make Canada tropical weather. ?

I have lived in ME, visited far east.. these countries have issues. Yes you hear the Azan 5 times, if you pray in North America facing hurdles, you get ajar, lets not forget this. Children who live here are taught how to live like a Muslim in North America and build on it. That is thrown away and you live in a country where you are judged by the color of your skin, your race etc

Muslims that come here don't want to assimilate. Canada has always been on the map and it will forever be a Christian nation. Don't kid yourselves. They rather bring their 3rd world problems here. It's obvious that you have never lived outside of Canada. Canada is probably one of the last countries in the world that accepts people for who they are and has a decent level of respect for belief systems. I get that you want to raise your children in a better environment, but trust me when I tell you this... you are walking into a world of disappointment. Canada itself is about 15 years behind other countries when it comes to this downwards spiral you are speaking of. Sadly, you will find out soon enough that this utopia you want to find, simply doesn't exist and you will discover you have left the variable comforts and safety of Canada behind. I'm not trying to burst your bubble, but am simply sharing what I discovered when I searched for the same things. I think L. Frank Baum said it best.... if I ever go looking for my heart's desire again, I won't look any further than my own back yard. If you are lucky in life you will discover that the world doesn't stop turning for you, and that the world that you dream of for your children must be created from within. That being said, it is good to travel and trying different ways of living is a wonderful education for your children. Just remember to shield your hearts and stay positive if things don't turn out the way that you hope they will. Best of luck and stay safe.

This is a very thoughtful and balanced review. As a retired Canadian who had a good job for most of my life, I'm saddened by the decline in almost all areas of life, lifestyle and and people's aspirations in this country. This decline actually seems quite rapid, I would say from 2015 onwards. Housing in major centres was expensive, but it has skyrocketed in the past decade. There has been a decline in many institutions: 1. health-care, especially noticeable since the pandemic that coincided with many boomer medical staff retiring, but also by our sclerotic institutions refusing to enable foreign-trained doctors to work here. Many foreign-trained doctors in the Vancouver area are doing jobs way below their qualifications while many people cannot even get a family doctor. Crazy. Econonically, there seems to have been no plan at all from the government as we exited the pandemic. At least the US had a plan, to 'build back better'. Our government just floats along as if everything is fine, when the decline is very visible especially to older Canadians. We have admitted 1/2 a million people a year from overseas, so our economy should reflect this and show an upswing. But no, we're in a 'technical recession' as of December and probably a real recession as of last week. I have never voted Conservative in my life, but Trudeau is a flaky dimwit with a famous name who has no clue what he is doing. A fool, in fact. He's mismanaged our foreign relations beyond belief, and nothing has improved domestically. When Pierre Poilievre says 'Canada is broken', I believe it. We deserve much better leadership; in Canada's case, the rot does come from the top. Justin the entitled idiot is much more like his mother than his father.\n\nLong rant. Anyway, I just wanted to praise your balance, and your decision to stay for now. Moving from one country to another is a huge life-change and you have worked hard to be here. For skilled immigrants such as dentists and doctors, if you are doing well where ever you are, don't come to Canada. The roadmap to get your license in Canada is so ridiculous that you will lose your money, time and hope. These are hijacked and controlled professions that are made sure that only a few will succeed every year.

Yep. Agree. As a migrant I need to work non stop to survive. Work life balance? Pft. Healthcare is good if you can wait 12 hours to see a nurse since family doctors are so few. Something is broken. Hoping it gets fixed soon before we drown.

When we compare wealth inequalities Canada looks pretty good on paper. Lookup the data by age and you get a different pictures. Boomers hold all the wealth. Youngs and new immigrants are slaving away their lives for nothing.\n\nCanada was great for boomers. It is now sinking down with no hope in sight.

Canada was not like this 8 years ago. You can thank the current liberal government for ruining this country, but then you likely voted for them! As a native Canadian I totally understand your stand on winter and inflation. As a native Canadian I think we don't inform immigrants and outsiders that winter climate does to alot of people. There is a seasonal affective disorder (very prevelent) in my father's family and even my mother unfailing optimism get's like you fatigue at the very least. Kids love winter but yes as a adult or even a teen many people retreat and feel isolated. As for inflation, I do hope you find a country where the gouvernement(s) aren't denying the insanity that is going on. To be honest, after centuries of being a Quebec native, I have fantasized very heavily about moving myself because even with a good salary things each year since Covid-19 have become just terribly expensive and it affect primarily basic shelter and food needs. It's absurd! Good luck on your way settling where ever you will!

Don’t move to Canada. I’ve lived here all my life and it’s gotten so bad every where you look there’s homeless camps. There’s people living in recreation vehicles on the side of the road. I hope when refugees and immigrants land on Canadian soil they get issued a tent and a hand shake (good luck)

Subhanallah. I feel lucky to have been born in Indonesia. Even though there are so many people who live as Islam ID, not practicing Islam as a Muslim should do things like pray and so on. But we have an Islamic environment here, with many mosques (except in Bali, where the majority of the people are Hindus).\nIt's cheap to live here, but not with the education. Even international Islamic boarding schools are so expensive here. If you can get a good job in Jakarta with a good company, you better stay here. \nI'm not sure it's cheap or not, but you can pay min 250 to 430 dollar per month for nanny or helper to clean the house. \nAnd for the weather, we only have two. Summer and rain. Sometimes it rains in the summer. And sometimes it's very hot during the rainy season. Hahahaha. Best wishes for your family.\nOr in Malaysia, they also have a good environment for Muslim children. I have some friends in Malaysia. Food is also cheap and similar to the Middle East. While your reasons for moving are very understandable and commendable, I also get a feeling of hopelessness when I hear that western countries are becoming hostile environments for practicing Muslims. I moved to Europe from Pakistan and I am constantly in a conundrum of whether I would want to settle here permanently. On one hand, the cultural differences here means that I will probably always feel like an outsider in this society and will always have to work harder to be able to practice my religion freely and to find a good community around me. On the other hand, because of Pakistan's economic situation, going back means constantly living under the threat of financial insecurity and a plethora of other problems such as a corrupt justice system, a weak passport etc. Not to even take into account that the average Pakistani society is just Muslim by name and not in actual practice. So it feels like there isn't any clear options and you just have to weigh the pros and cons of each situation. But I would warn you that while it's easy to say that you want to live in a Muslim country, the reality is hardly as idyllic. Its easy to play the azan in a mall but it's difficult to create a society that actually adheres to and values Islamic principles, and in Pakistan's case I don't think such a society exists. You would also find that many Muslim countries' leaderships have supported tyrannical regimes and nobody's hands are actually clean. It's a complicated decision but I hope you find a situation that works for your family.

It's so sad that you even have to consider this, but you need to do what you feel is right for you and your family. Just remember wherever you guys pick make sure that they speak the same dialect that you do otherwise you're going to have that learning curve of learning their dialects. It is different in a lot of places like learning to speak like the yemeni do is different than the Pakistani. So just keep that in mind. My grandfather is from Yemen and his wife who is my grandmother and my dad's side is from sudan. And they used to tell me it took them a while to understand each other. My Syrian grandmother on my mom's side would teach me words and phrases and my grandpa who was from Yemen would always make fun of me because I wasn't saying stuff right. I'm not really good at speaking Arabic but I can get by so just remember when you guys are picking somewhere to pick a place that won't be that hard to understand people. I'm only saying that because with the kids you guys send the kids to school they may learn a different dialect than what you taught at home and it will be a learning curve for them to try to understand. But I'm sure you guys will make the right decision. I just figured I would throw that in there I'm sure you already know that the dialects are a lot different and Arabic is a lot different in different parts of the world. People think Arabic is all the same and it's really different. Just like people who speak Spanish in South America speak different dialects on the Puerto Ricans just like people in Brazil don't speak Spanish they speak portuguese. Just a thing to think about. Egypt seems to be a pretty good place I have family that live in Egypt and they really liked it but I'm sure you guys will pick a place that's wonderful for your family and I can't wait till you guys know when we can see everything that you guys are doing in your new home Korean and I totally understand I am so upset the United States took the stand that they did with the genocide in Gaza and in the occupied West bank. People don't understand exactly what's going on there they don't know if they're not really up on current events and don't have any people in their family who are from a Muslim country they don't really know what's been going on. My husband is from Gaza, all of his extended family was killed and these three months have been the most emotionally depleting, we also found out we are 2 months pregnant alhamdulilah and because we want to make sure the little one gets the islamic education and lives in a safe environment we can't possibly stay in Canada (we live in Vancouver, almost no visible muslims here). I'm a revert from Europe so people get so confused when they see me in hijab, it's uncomfortable and scary. Given the fact that my husband grew up in Gaza, we would like to move somewhere where islamic values are still very strong and people didn't exchange them for Shakira concerts (I think we all know which country i'm talking about) so our safest bet as of now is Kuwait and Qatar. More strongly Kuwait as there's a big Palestinian community. Hope this helps!

I really do wish u all the best, but coming from a Muslim country myself immigrating to Canada recently, I’d say don’t get your hopes up, because so called “Muslim” countries aren’t much different, and having to live in a country where u can hear the athan is nice, but unfortunately is not enough. This is actually my problem with Western Muslims, romantacizing Muslim countries. I literally practiced Islam fully and more freely in Toronto than in Cairo or Dubai. There is no such thing is a “Muslim country” the way you guys having it painted in your minds! People in those countries are as just “people” they sin and as. corrupt as societies in the West but in a different way.

If you want a citizenship I don't suggest you go to any gulf countries, of course ignore any war countries, Malaysia and Indonesia have nice people and I think you can get a citizenship there, Jordan might be a good choice you might be able to get a citizenship and there are diverse groups of people but the economy and civil status laws aren't exactly that great, now Egypt is definitely a choice but the country is kinda drifting off of Islam in the recent years, terrible economic conditions and I don't think a citizenship is possible really, I'm not much aware of the Arab west countries but they have their pros and cons definitely, lots of people there speak other languages and there's some beautiful culture and a considerable amount of political safety compared to other countries in the region, other than the occupation Palestine would've been a great choice lots of foreigners live here but I'm not sure what requirements you need for that and I'm pretty sure they probably wouldn't let you do so as Muslims, I have very little knowledge but I wanted to share what I can, I hope it helps.

I am right there with you guys but not for the reason you guys are leaving I hate the fighting. No matter who they are I hate seeing people that are innocent being hurt... Our problem here in America is Donald Trump! I am so fed up with that man and if he wins again I'm definitely moving to a different country but the same reasons you guys are freedom... Because if he gets back in office we will no longer be free unfortunately I have grandchildren and children and I don't know what to do about that, makes my heart so sad that I don't know what to do about them and I can't do anything for them but I try to keep my options opening hope and pray that we don't get him in office again.... That's still hope. I really hope the government makes an effort to push the economy stronger here. Canada has suffered from poor economy for many years and the situation has been getting worse. It results in homeless people (who can't afford to rent a place), low salaries in most jobs, low family income, lacking resources in education, and a high crime rate, ...etc. China was like that decades ago and has completely exited the economy from a third-world level after moving the economy forward.

Live in a small town on the edge of town between Toronto. and. In my teens, early 20s (early 00's) i dreamed of emigrating to Canada and Toronto. It had beautiful nature, was clean, safe, nice people and a great standard of living. But seeing it now especially the big cities is really sad. Many countries have had major turn arounds (Colombia for instance) and hopefully Canada can get back to being a great place again. Love from the UK .

We immigrated to Canada to create a life we would not have been able to have back home. However, not only did we not obtain a better life, we lost the opportunities that we would have had back home if we had stayed there. We came here to be able to buy property, to have secure employment in the fields that we were trained for. We came here to have better medical care. At this point, to see a doctor, we prefer to fly back home and to get diagnosed and treated there because of the long wait times and doctors who are reluctant to prescribe tests and are just passive. They just care about the paperwork they need to complete instead of diagnosing and treating patient. We immigrated to lower our stress levels but they doubled and tripled due to debts, the risk of being laid off or fired so easily . I work 10 hours a day, but I live in conditions that a jobless person is living. The salary I earn does not help me improve my life and to buy a house and to generally improve. The issue is that Canada is being dangerously overrated and is being marketed for what is not true. Hopefully with social media the realities will get out and reach people.

Yes there is still hope. For example by getting Trudeau out in the next election.

My family came to Canada 5 years ago. The main reason was because my dad had been busy setting up a branch of his European company here for two years. He wanted to launch this new branch and then retire early. Canada as he knew it was a good option for him to do this. We even had a house long before we came to Canada. And we now live on the west coast of Canada. \n \nFor us, the transition to feeling at home here wasn't particularly difficult. We also had enough experience of what it was like to live in other countries. Canada actually turned out to be a very easy country to quickly settle in. \n \nI've heard that Canadians can be reserved, but my personal experience is completely different. \n \nNevertheless, I got to know fellow immigrants who didn't find it easy to get started in Canada. In my experience, they were not very or only rudimentarily informed about what to expect in Canada. Their expectations were very high and they failed because of the reality of everyday Canadian life. \n \nOthers had similar experiences, but they persevered and ultimately arrived in Canada. Some of my fellow students are international students who are also considering leaving the country because Canada doesn't offer what they were hoping for as a better life here. \n \nThe reasons are really too individual in nature to really generalize. I think there should be a lot more help given to people who are struggling with their fate in Canada, because there are enough programs that they could take advantage of but that they never hear about. \n \nUltimately, it may help if someone just listens to them and perhaps has some advice, no matter how vague it may be. Those who finally arrive in Canada after years of a long odyssey and find this country something like home are, in my opinion, those who never gave up.

No one blamed the European countries when they didn’t want to take in Jews and just gave them to the Nazis…\nWhy would I as a European blame the Arab countries for not taking in even more refugees, when it just helps Israel to get away with more human rights violations and displacement of people ?\nBut generally I have lost all my fate in western media. That’s the hope from the terrorists, that either they will flee the land and feel the terror message too strongly or that if they don’t get taken in that the Arab world is seen as backstabbers for “turning” them away. Although they back stab for other reasons this ain’t the reason for ‘not taking them in’. It is as he said here it is THEIR land!
