Call or write to your various levels of government and let them know that this is wrong and will hurt everyone in the US and Canada. I’m a Canadian and no fan of Prime Minister Trudeau. It’s unfortunate the best speech he ever gave was after he resigned as Prime Minister. What he has said in this speech is absolutely true, despite the fact, I think Trump is doing some good things for the USA. This Terrif war with your neighbour is stupid. Unfortunately for us in Canada our Prime Minister has not given us the tools and freedom to grow economically and prosper the way we should have. Canadians should be living like Kings, but unfortunately are living paycheque to paycheque because of the stranglehold that our Prime Minister has put on businesses and its citizens. As an American, I am embarrassed by our leadership. Presidents like Trudeau and Zelensky are men to look up to. They may not be perfect, but they remain strong and confident in the face of the tyranny of Trump and Putin. I live an hour from the Canadian border, and they have been nothing but kind and amazing every time I've ever visited. My support is with Canada, Mexico and Ukraine. It is a dark and embarrassing time to be an American.

With that said, I would like to see Canada step up to certain obligations, including with NATO, but as far as a trade work goes, this is not good.

Putting tariffs on Canadian (or Mexican) goods is like charging your neighbor to borrow your power drill.

I served alongside Canadian military when I served in the US military. They were very tough, honorable, and outstanding professionals. I have friends and family from Canada, and they love America. This trade war is so sad and so devastating for so many Americans and Canadians. These tariffs are so stupid, it's beyond reason. Trump is treating America's best friends and allies like enemies! This is not only dishonorable behavior by a US president, it is despicable!
