A refugee here. Through my job as an engineer, I'm probably giving back more than what half Canadian born do. Many Canadians just live off of interest in money they inhereted while we work to uplift the economy. Refugees would still rather go back to their countries as soon as the war is over. We're not here to steal your money or anything. I bet the guys with negative comments never had to know a refugee in person. Shame.

It’s sad too see all this negatives comments y’all don’t know how hard it is for immigrants Unless you are one you can never relate the presidents thinks we are all rapist killers and bad people but that’s not the case yes there might be some bad people but I guarantee most of us are good people who come here too work really hard so our family’s and children can have a better life I don’t understand why we get so much hate all we come too do here is work hard and also we do jobs that no other people will do let’s put an example I don’t see any white American or black African American working in construction yes there might be some but most don’t like working outside in the heat because it’s hot and because it’s a hard job look at el Paso shootings you tell me who did that shooting ? It’s really sad too what this country has become too and the president is very wrong too and if your with the president you’ll should be ashamed of yourself.

I am shocked at the fact there are more dislikes than likes when the CBC provides facts and so many people say they are lies, and others agree! The negative sentiments about refugees and immigrants are getting louder and people are happy to call fellow human beings “them”. They insinuate this is a huge burden, when the fact is we benefit from migration. It seems people think Canada will be over run by people from a foreign land, take all the resources and eliminate people born here, but that’s only happened once, when the British and the French arrived 400 years ago.

Absolutely nothing has changed much over the past twenty years, except that people are not doing the racism denial thing.. not as widespread as ten years ago anyway. Since the past two years, no one denies that it is happening. And that alone makes things clearer for everyone. Nothing worse than wondering if it is your hair color, your negativity, your lack of smile or outgoing behavior.

Moving to Vancouver was a great experience tbh, I'm of nigerian heritage but was born in Finchley, North London...\nCanadians are friendly and extremely welcoming ( Coming from the UK i found this so off-putting ) lol. Ironically its non-white Canadians i had funny experiences with.... from dating to renting its weird\n\n\nAsians under 27 always asking some crazy questions ( Are you an NBA player ) lol it's cute at first but after a while when little koreans walk up to me talking about ( You look like will smith ) it makes you think... To be fair these are not inherent negatives, But asian canadians alone did treat me weird i found, Indian girls i met all wanted to be with me but where also very ashamed to say so or let their family know, but thats a cultural thing so i understood.\n\n\n Of all the demographics White canadian and native men where the most welcoming and open to me, in my experience.. White women of-course where cool too but that does not really count, especially as a good looking black guy with an accent LOOL you know how that goes!! My Tinder and Bumble were obscene LMAO\n\nRenting from asians while black and Male!? is almost impossible!!! Except they think you have rich parents!! Its impossible in Van unless you are an Arab exchange student lol \nArab and Persian students studying english have no issues renting in Vancouver, for some reason!!\n\nI lived out the St. Regis downtown for a month, Looking for places to rent, i had seen so many places online and filled out applications but never got call backs, asides from 2 group showings i went to, i could not even set up a viewing with the apartment building i wanted... \n\nTill i met an african girl in school, and she told me something i found completely crazy.\nShe told me to make a new e-mail addy and to use my English name when i e-mail, then set up a viewing but to show up with a white friend preferably a girl and that if the owner is asian, i should look around, and offer to pay 6months upfront before they get a chance to ask what i did for work or whether i was a student or not LOL. Needless to say, i did what she said and It worked the asian lady asked me to come get the keys later that day. Its just life, as a property owner they really just wanna size you up, not fair and kind of pathetic but its not inherently evil...

Unfortunately there is always going to be racism. The media play it up by always showing knife crime, drug dealing, mugging, terrorism etc by non whites. They don't show the accomplishments, all negative. So when a snap decision of trust/safety needs to be made by a white person they will recall the good, not the bad. Time is the great healer. More interracial marriages will educate the future generations not to believe the negative stereotypes.

Anyone that makes anyone guilty before proof should be lein charge period.not ok to let natural people feel any ways that's negative it will affect the entire world.peace

My family and I experience this a lot. My daughter was told she has a bomb in her school bag by children at her school. It hurts, but I handle it meek and peaceful as possible. Ahlaha do not allow us to be negative or bias. Shlama

I just ignore it or confront the person if I sense that someone is being prejudice towards me. Otherwise, MOST people are NOT prejudice! So QUIT focusing the negative aspect of human frailties and focus on the good side! It seems like if one person is one bad apple, media likes to focus on that one bad apple and forgot to focus that the rest of the apples are still good and healthy!

White people do get discrimated also. Unfortunately it might not occur as often as other race's get discrimated against, but it definitely happens. But I just think it's not really reported as often even though it should be. Regardless of the race no one deserve to be treated negatively just because of their race & skin complexion.

This video is misleading with much information..What many do not know and even homeowners..that their Property Taxes do go for the schooling and HUD assisstance is shared with illegals...just like visas that are overstayed..On the surface we are taught there is not corruption in the system..BS ..Sanctuary cities and much more BS negates this whole video..this sounds like Obama Rhetoric not Trump...Remember the system is still corrupt and California Governors have been Jesuit controlled for decades..

I'm all respect to any religion that lives in harmony with other religions, be it anywhere in the world. But if one steps on others toes, obviously others will get upset & there will be negative sentiment. This aberration needs correction.

The well known hatred of the muslim for the western society is simply reflected back at them. With such hate and non integration, ask yourself, why are they here? They deserve nothing more than negative sentiment and more by their actions.  Their theology fails four major tests that any religion should fulfill. 1. Adherence to a religion must be a personal choice. 2. No religion should demand that those who leave it should be killed, this makes it a totalitarian ideology rather than a religion. 3. No religion should ever mandate the subjugation of those who do not belong to it. 4. A religion should be in accord with basic human rights.

So much negative this world is for everybody to live. We brought nothing in and we take nothing out even bill gates with all that billions.

I used to live in Brampton and this is the city where I first landed. No hatred for the city but people have ruined it. I'm a brown guy myself so I can't be racist against my own people and tbh, some of the best people I know in Canada are Sikhs but even they accept the fact that there is a large number of bad apples in their community. Sikhs have played a major part in both positive and negative way, to make and break this city.\n\nInsurance scams in Brampton cost their citizens to pay one of the highest premiums in the country. Generally, drivers in Brampton have no fuckin' idea how to drive because the licences were literally bought. \n\nA large number of people of our brown community always hell bent on abusing the system, wherever they go. We bring the same back home mindset here in Canada rather follow the system. \n\nThe only thing mostly brown community is focused on is how to make money and that's all. Don't try to learn the language, don't like to mix with people, don't care about the laws or anything. They only like to have nice big houses, show off their leased fancy cars and that's all.\n\nI left this city for good and don't regret my decision at all when I see numerous videos about the bad situation in Brampton. I'd love to move back to Ontario but cannot live in this city anymore. One thing really pissed me off when I was there that most people expect every brown person to speak Punjabi and when I used to tell them that I don't speak or understand Punjabi, you could see the surprized looks on their face.

Let’s not forget MANY OF US wouldn’t be here if our parents/ancestors wouldn’t of immigrated (Yes Im one of them) let’s not be hypocrites now “oh go back” we all do what’s best for our family to give them a better future this man paid with his hard earned money his own lawyers. I respect all peoples...but I once went into an Asian owned store, and was followed around, and spoked about in their native tongue negatively (I understood what they said) and I asked them why they were speaking about me this way... they were shocked. And they didn’t bother me again for the rest of my shopping experience.

There are many negative comments here. I think in future, Canadians will treat them very bad if they feel their demographic is changing, like how Muslim are treated in western world. Hope this will not true.

South Asians are not the only community in the west, if you are not going to complain about Chinatowns or ghettos; please show us the same respect. Because, we are a harmless, distinct and hardworking community; should not make us the perfect targets all the time.

Name me one plus having these people and their religion in any western country. They teach hate about everything you are and your country.Just look at the nightmare of the UK and Europe where I lived and have seen the negative changes costing countries billions with over 60% of over 50 million in Europe living off benefits. It will cost Germany alone over 22 billion Euros a year to keep their migrant/refugees. The moderate holds you down while the extremist cuts your head off.

People judge based on skin color because of patterns of behavior. Blacks and Hispanics are more likely to be gang associated then a white or Asian. If you want to fix racism, then get rid of the negative behaviors in your race.

its funny the cbc disables the comments section on all their videos that white conservatives are likely to respond negatively to. but when its the reverse , boom. ill tell you a little story about racism . 35 yrs. ago i worked demolition and one day i notice these new guys just standing around. a couple of other guys come over to me and point out that those three guys just standing around would be fired at the end of the day, when i asked why they told me it was because they werent doing any work becuase no one would show then what to do becuase they were black they used different words. so i went over to these three guys and told them if they didnt work they would be fired at the end of the day. they said no one would show them which i thought was pretty lame since the job was to pick up the demolition garbage and pill it like every one else, so i showd them and save their jobs.

It's Islamists that are a blood stain on this country where thousands upon thousands of men and women gave their lives for our freedoms and rights but now look at what these people have brought to this beautiful country. I agree that racism exists in Canada in a subtle form. In my experience people would have more discrimination towards minority with foreign accents. I have heard from other people commenting immigrants 'this person has accent' and to me, it can be perceived negatively. Sometimes I feel I am treated differently because I have accent, especially at working environment. Few years ago I worked in school and my white boss put this on my yearly performance: Your 'emerging' English skills can have negative impact to children's language development. I didn't tell this to anyone but was very disappointed as we are a diversified country with so many immigrants, and this should not come out from an educator's mouth.

Being a Black Lady in America has not affected me negatively. I believe that is some white women especially don't like me because I walk with my head up. I give off an aura that they cannot stand. This might be similar, but a little different. I've been language profiled before, just for speaking my mother tongue. I'm bilingual, english is a second language to me but welsh is my first and primary language. There's a notion that that some languages are redundant, not even worth speaking or learning. \n\nSometimes being different is a good thing, but why do people mock us for being ourselves?\n\nIt's not how a person looks that counts it's the who they are as an individual that counts. \n\nQ: Get rid of the label that you pin on someone, what else do you have left?\n A: a human being, who has more in common with us than we thought.
