Hi Tyler from Toronto Canada. I can kinda understand where some of the answers are coming from. Know that we( up north) are watching our brothers down south with the politics. In 2016 when T$__+&$#p had got into power, there was an exodus from the U.S. I know of a few Canadians who go south for the winter ( 6 months). Not too sure about moving to the U.S.A. but I love to visit. \n As I said, most recently it is more of a political thing. ❤❤

The Presidential Pardon... which is a concept that seems designed to facilitate the abuse of power.\n#9. Fox News, and the rest of the deeply manipulative right wing media... which I should have put much higher on this list.\n#10. Military spending... which also should probably be higher on this list.\n#11. The myth of American exceptionalism.\n#12. American ignorance of the rest of the world, in general.\n#13. The Criminal Code including the Death Penalty, which was eliminated in Canada many years ago.\n#14. Education.\n#15. The drastically increased potential for political violence ever since Trump entered the political arena. This one also should be higher on the list. The United States could not even get through a transfer of power without violence. This is beyond pathetic. The peaceful transition of power is the #1 job of first-world democracies.\n#16. Attitudes toward social problems such as poverty and drug addiction. \n\nNotice that #4 - #7 could be subdivided into more than one reason.\nI thought this list was going to have 5 or 6 items on it.

As sad as this is, in America the stats actually proove you wrong , as every single day in America there are now 2 MASS SHOOTINGS ..many times more then 2 a day…it used to be 1 every single day….but now it’s at LEAST 2 MASS SHOOTINGS EVERY DAY IN AMERICA…..many of which as you know are SCHOOL SHOOTINGS.\n\nI was disgusted when it reached 1 Mass shooting everyday a couple of years back….the fact that the stat has only risen and one entire Political party is BEHIND IT…IS REVOLTING…THE AMERICAN PEOPLE NEED TO VOTE THE MAGGAT REPULSIVE PARTY OUT OF POWER FOR GOOD. America could be like Canada if they actually gave the Democrats actual majority power in America and if they stopped the VAST GERRYMANDERING, VOTER SUPPRESSION and FEAR MONGERING of the Repulsive party.

I've noticed that the reason why foreigners wouldn't want to move to the US really just boils down to one word – politics.\n\nI feel like many Canadians would be surprised by the fact that most Americans are actually _in support_ of common-sense gun legislation and free universal healthcare. \n\nAmericans and Canadians want many of the same things – the difference is that Canada doesn't have a poorly structured government that grants way too much power to horrible people so they can do horrible things to their country.

I ‘ve met so many Americans on trips and through living in San Francisco for 3 months for a course. They were very kind, thoughtful and knowledgeable people. I also love many beautiful places in the States. I find though, that the media ignores Canada to a great degree only reporting negative issues . I don’t care for the super nationalism of the government, the gun laws, the many wars they’ve been involved in, nor do I like the racism and the present divisiveness of the country given that a person like Trump could be voted in and have so much power! That is frightening! I could never have afforded my two hip and knee replacements as well as other surgeries and the birth of four children had I lived there consequently, I would make friends with Americans who move here withthe same principles, but no to moving to the United States OF America.I was happy to return to beautiful Vancouver Island, (which was voted one of the top Islands in the world by CNN, Time magazine and Conde Nast, )

The problem with Canada's economy is that it's totally controlled by the .01% elite who couldn't care less for Canadians other than the production they contribute to their agenda. Financial, sexual, surgical, entertainment, land, power. Their religion is to serve Mammon and so the world is in trouble. Lucky for us they will go down hard but not before we all go down. And the only ones getting back up again are those who would not serve and know the one and only true Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. So grateful for His Love.

Canada has ceased to be a confederation and has become a central axis of power in Ontario and Quebec and the remaining provinces treated like colonies. Equalization makes everyone equally poor and destroys initiative. We used to be a rich resource country but now we're trying to compete in technology and manufacturing with an expensive and low productivity workforce. We're becoming another Venezuela.

My brother was murdered in a small town called Kenora in Ontario Canada by a bunch of Caucasian guys. At the end of the day I think Canada and the US share a lot of common ground in a lot of areas. \nThe major difference in my eyes between Canada and the US is the competitiveness of each economy. The US is far more competitive and innovative than Canada. Canadians are more risk averse and seem to want to work for the government or a big company whereas Americans are more confident in themselves and would prefer to work for themselves and try to start a business for themselves - and importantly - want to have it become a large business. \nAs a Canadian I wish I would have moved down to the States and tried it out when I was younger. I'm too old to move there now... \nCanada still isn't a bad place but it is nowhere near as prosperous for the average person, or I should say the average worker, as it used to be. And Canada's economy seems to be deteriorating rapidly and being usurped by newly developing countries whereas the economic future of the US seems brighter due to the powerful innovation in the US. However the social situation in the US seems to be deteriorating more so than in Canada.

Government workers get paid way to much in Canada and have to much power.. teachers and fire fighter make 100K with amazing pensions and it’s way harder to do in the private sector.. I know it’s not perfect and things are getting tougher but having been around the world, it is still largely a very peaceful and stable country. I work as an engineer in the nuclear power industry of Ontario and I’m 40 something so I’m stuck here anyway ?

But Canada being your home country, I would like to remind you that you cannot influence the economic and political situation and help to improve it by turning your back on it and leaving the country. First off Canada is not a systemically racist country I’m white I’m also poor and I’ve lived here all my life nearly everyone excluding the native population in a immigrant or a descendant of a immigrant my mom is Portuguese and I also have black family members we are no more racist than anyone else in any other country. I agree, I was born and raised here, unless you speak the language, have a good education, its puts you behind the 8 ball if you want to stay here. Why? Because the cost of living is too high, Why? Because our gov. let foreign powers come into out country and flip our real estate to make fast profits and that drives up the rents and costs of housing to the point that you cannot afford to live here, period. The only way that you can do it is to team up with other families and all live in the same place and slowly build up your education, job skills and income to a point where you can afford to live and get a place of your own, thats the way they did it in my parents time and it seemed to work, but when you have a gov. that all they can think about is their climate control BS and to raise the carbon taxes, interest rates causing inflation, causing prices to go up on everything it becomes a losing battle. So unless you are prepared to work two or three jobs, don't even think about it, because now its next to impossible to do unless you have someone supporting you on your climb to the top. In Canada we need health care workers and that could be nurses, doctors, health care aids, psw's, dsw's and physiotherapists, in some provinces they give free courses to get these jobs and you end up getting good wages like min. 25.00 per hour to start and all the hours you can handle, that means if you work 60 hours a week, you make 1500 a week, now that you can survive on, I know this for a fact because a friend of mine just went through the course and now she is set for life, that was a PSW course, its all up to you, if you want it bad enough, you can have it all. Welcome to Canada.

From my traveling experience… i can tell Americans got more spending power than canadian… most of the time i met canadians at hostels and cheap hotels ? Americans pay with powerful us dollar, tip well, don’t bargain !Canada still good country but don’t compare it to the states … not yet ? !!! The rent in Montreal is not as high relative to major urban cities in America simply because of the demand. People simply do not want to live in Montreal at the same rate that they do for places like San Francisco and New York. Moreover, places like New York and San Francisco, (this can also include Toronto/Vancouver), have rigorous rent controls as well as zone restriction laws that limits the capacity for home builders to produce affordable housing, (especially when compared to Quebec). I live in Canada, but I even I must admit that economic success and freedom is much higher in the U.S. Name me another Western country with more african Billionaires/Millionaires than America? Canada is immensely reliant on Government to regulate trade and commerce and due to our lack of entrepreneurial spirit, I expect that we will remain a commodity-based economy for decades. This is especially a sad reality if interest rates continue to rise, as it will negatively impact the purchasing power of our dollar which is indexed to commodities . \n \nCheers,

Just more than a year living here in Canada realizations:\n\n1. So cold. Not everytime you can be so productive because the weather is a big hindrance\n2. As an immigrant, you will start from scratch. There will be great opportunities, sometimes really fast promotions or salary increase but workplaces are always short staffed that the amount of work is not worth it with how much the salary is. \n3. Some people still have preferences and you will really feel discriminated.\n4. People are polite, I am very impressed but so individualistic, it's sad. Growing in a country with a very collective type of community, you will really fee the void once you try living in Canada. you can't fully relate to everyone, be free to talk to them about everything because you rarely have common ground or understanding. I feel bad for the Canadians, its so hard to build relationships here in this country. Some of them might never experienced living that everyone of their schoolmates understand and laughs at the same meme because all of them have the same backgrounds and can relate.\n5. Housing prices are so high, it is so surprising for a country with big land mass but with very few population. Like how can be the house this expensive when winter is long, houses are wood and not stone and groceries, mall and other recreational areas are far?\n\nOverall, it's like a big scam going here in Canada. The biggest thing positive here is how powerful the currency is and the country being part of G7 and neighbor of US. Also it has very well preserved environment, scenic views. Aside those, others you can live without.

I'm praying that a strong leader like modi or trump comes to power in Canada, Australia and UK to cancel all visa given to such immigrants and kick them back to India.
