At least from what I have seen in Ghana, people are starting businesses.\n\nI am going to say something I observed about Ghana. I found out that women, as usual, are more hard-working. I realised that the men don't have work because they are lazy or have too much pride. I have watched so many videos where so many business owners complain about the ineffectiveness and inefficiencies of the workers. They are not dedicated when they work for other people. I watched these business owners whose workers in the farms are mostly women, and they were very happy that women are easier to control and have good work ethics as opposed to men. The men prefer jobs where they don't use their energies such as Yahoo Yahoo boys, selling in shops where they don't touch anything or lift a finger.\n\nGrowing up, we knew that men were supposed to do the hard-working jobs in society. But these days, men like to idle around and touch nothing. The reasons being that the African culture teaches us that men are not supposed to do anything at home. They are supposed to be served by women. Then, instead of the men going out there to do the hard work and make the money, they wait around expecting cushy jobs that don't make them lift a finger.\n\nLook at China that you mentioned. These boys work absolutely hard. Even in the villages. Look at Muslim countries. You will never see women working on the streets. The men are even the ones who cook the food on the streets and sell. Check countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. In Africa, most things are done by women.\n\nAll this japa that people are fighting for. Have we ever thought of the agenda of these people needing free and cheap labour? I came to realise that we stupid Africans don't yet understand. Our children eventually become strangers, and we remain just surrogate parents. Most of our children are never going back to Africa, and when they get to an age, they become like strangers to us. Whatever we say, they look at us like archaic. What then makes them Africans anyway. We have seen so many of them who barely know their countries of origin and have never ever been there. They do not know their relations. In fifty years' time, that generation has lost their roots, and was that our intentions initially? This all dawned on me recently with my children, and I feel absolutely dejected because they are not interested in our country. All my hard work is gone down the drain, and all that can happen is for us to leave our children behind and live like people who never had children in the first place. For now, most people see it like something to be proud of, and are happy to say ( my children live abroad). Africans are the most stupid people I know, and that is why we are always used for slave labour. Why are they all approving all these visas and allowing all these people to drown at sea? \n\nThese countries allow these fake visas deliberately because they drain African countries to enrich their own since they can't get the minerals easily these days.

Lol all of Canada has turned into a shithole. Canada is less of a country and more of an economic zone. Being born in Canada means nothing anymore you’re likely to have a shittier standard of living as an adult then what you had growing up. Canada is a dead nation.

Not only in Canada dear brothers and sisters, here in the Netherlands housing prices and living costs are at least to say expensive. My luck is that I bought my house 10 years ago for a very good price ( 160.000 Euro's with a current mortgage of 519,00 Euro per month as the interest rate is 1,3% almost hilarious for Dutch standards today ) for a normal house with 3 bedrooms, attic, normal sized bathroom, garden, driveway for 1 car and on one side separated from my neighbor because there is a shed in between. Nothing special but now people will fight each other to get a house like mine. So conclusion: I can save some money to plan a trip to Canada next year or 2025, no delay anymore! Targeting BC and Alberta ( mountains!!!) is the plan for this trip as your country is huge at least to say. I like your vids Alina, really useful information and your relaxed style of presenting. In this case, I have very little sympathy for Venezuelan migrants. From what I've read, these are the same people who supported Maduro and his corrupt government. They wanted free $h1+ and got nothing more than corruption. Now too many of them want to come to the U.S. not to earn their way like many other groups that came before them... but to look for more free stuff. Look that the experience that other countries have had with many of them and they too are dismayed by their sense of entitlement.

I was doing a job in a major city in North America where I would come into contact with some frequency with small business owners from Europe. It would be revealed in conversation they are extremely reluctant to hire men ( not the women ) from places like Africa, The Middle East and South Asia because those individuals are accustomed to passing the day doing next to nothing, letting women do most the work, are difficult to train and become combative when asked to work with the intensity of local norms. That is not racist. Racist would be wishing those groups harm, thwarting their progress, etc. But facts are facts. Certain groups are socialized to do the bare minimum in life in settings where it is not necessary to work hard enough to sustain infrastructure and personal resources for very cold winters and a decent, not unsanitary standard of living. If anyone accuses that of being racist they have never ran a business with balanced books in an industrialized Nation. It has nothing to do with genetics. It has to do with how people are socialized. Traveling on Saudia the Male flight attendants do next to nothing, tend to be rude and let the Women do most the work. Why? Because they can get away with it.

The main problem in Canada is you keep toiling year after year but you cannot really see you achieve a life where you are secure that you have made it. Cold weather, there are many cold countries like Scandinavian countries etc. but even migrants stay put because one's life improved. Canada just wanted to extract money from foreigners like international students, migrants without or even PRs but the promised benefits are in fact also gotten from them due to the many stiff taxes, & not really from the gov't. My nephews & niece supposedly given education but those are loans that must be paid after graduation. But the problem is there are no jobs even if they graduated with flying colors and nice courses. It was said work is easier if already citizens and studied there but no use. If there are jobs, so many asked like work history, credit background how can they have it when they just graduated so accepted jobs for undergraduates like mopping floors, fastfood crew & entailed years, so how can the payback be with just minimal earnings? Canada just make slaves of migrants with nothing done in their lives but work, work, work no spare time to rest then taxes, taxes, taxes. No savings even if very thrifty. Everything has tax - Exorbitant income taxes, home tax, rent tax, car tax, insurance tax, bank account tax, electricity tax, internet tax, cellphone tax, and many more. Slaves because you only live to sustain the government BUT YOU CANNOT RECEIVE THE PROMPT AND COMPLETE SERVICES promoted. So people got depressed and unhappy especially with the gloomy cold weather. It's not like jobs in other countries or even in one's home country where even if you toiled hard and made sacrifices, you moved forward by assets acquired like lots, houses, big bank account balances but no, in Canada you can't, it must all go to the Govt. It's like Communism.

Canada is nothing but a frozen hell on earth. Very hard to find a job even if you studied and graduated from a Canadian uni, Low wages that don't match with the expensive accommodation, Awful weather, Quality of life is zero, And finally it's not really safe like how people think it's you would see crimes occrue during the day time not just in the evening. \nBasically you cannot find anything to credit this country for.

Our country COULD take care of the people IF the top dogs would pour some of their wealth down to the people. All their profits made off us. And for those people coming in, let them in. Hahahah! In Canada, they give you a job, they expect you to do your job while you’re on the clock. In Nigeria you are working and having fun. That’s why one country is developed and the other is not. The one has functional institutions, nothing works in the other. It’s no wonder why anyone migrating from a country like Nigeria would have problems initially getting used to a system like Canada or the US where productivity is of the utmost importance. Also the “big man” syndrome often common in most developing countries does not exist in most of these developed nations. It takes some Nigerian professionals a little while to get off the high horse of their “bigmanism” and get used to the near egalitarian state of these societies. Plus, you have to go through a process of licensure before the degrees you brought with you are worth anything. Before then you have to endure with odd jobs and answer to your superiors at work. \n\nIt’s a process, and all those who migrate to Canada and the US have to go through it. The reward? You have the opportunity to give you and your kids a better life.

Hello brothers and sisters I’m seeing a problem here. The interest rate in the late 1970s and early 1980s interest rate was 12-18%. People\nComing now are in MUCH better financial condition then people who came then with nothing. The difference is two main things: many new immigrants don’t have the same drive and motivation that previous immigrants in terms of sacrifices such as not driving a mustang, but they also didn’t just settle for labour jobs, they used their brains and began business along side labour. Second thing is, the immigrant wants to see the result before putting in the work. If after getting out of the horrible conditions of India and coming to Canada, a country loaded with opportunities, you still have difficulties then you need to change your expectations and work ethic to match, if they don’t then don’t complain. Cost of living is not the issue, it is the false expectation that they give themselves. To be quite honest with you it takes most immigrants one generation not 5-10 years, so either start working smarter or wait to have this reflection of what Canada is like until you have lived here for 50 years.

when i visited canada and landed in calgary, i went outside the airport and saw an apartment and was mentally disturbed like nothing ever before.. no country can look this way, it looked disgusting, depressed and the most lowest on earth.. then i spoke to the french migrants and noticed a similarity to that building n surroundings in the area.. they were low self esteemed, low, upset always, unhappy, cheats, desperate, aggressive ?, n that’s the first time i knew why the world don’t want french people around

We (Canada) let in 1,200,000 people in the last 12 months and everything is shit here. Indian international students are sleeping in hallways, everything is crushingly expensive, and there is no future here. It feels like being homeless in an airport concourse. Indian airlines should start taking a stricter approach towards such shameless entitled people who know nothing about etiquettes or being considerate towards the surroundings and people around them or even understand how our actions might be causing some discomfort to them. I hate this so much. I know it’s not these peoples fault that their countries aren’t helping them but America isn’t even helping its own people. Imagine how it feels to be from the US struggling and then these people come and somehow our country has the means to help them when they won’t not can’t won’t help their own. What other country do you know of where you can just decide to cross their boarder demand help and say you know what I’m just going to live here illegally now. And if we don’t help them they have all kinds of ways to sue the state and demand help even though they’re not even citizens. That’s what’s crazy to me. They make you do a bunch of stuff before you can travel and some countries won’t even let you visit let alone live there with or without a criminal record but these people can just walk right in. Any countries borders are important they are there for protection. Ours are not being protected which means the country is not protected. This Canadian lived in Orange County CA for 10 years. I took my the 12 year old with me. I had been offered my dream job and was paid enough to have a good standard of living. However, I lived in an immigrant community to save money as I found many of the high schools were horrid compared to Canada. I had not realized the school to school inequality to be so extreme and my kid changed to independent study at home. So with a Canadian elememtary education, they graduated high school a year only while skipping no courses..\n\nMy kid had medical issues and even with good HMO insurance, we could never get a decent diagnosis until it had gotten so bad that their digestive system was so wrecked. I finally sent them back to Canada for the surgery that we could not get in the USA. It seemed the insurance companies kept getting in the way. And in one case a doctor went all religious on us. After 6 years of almost continuous pain they finally got relief for a decade until the prior damage came back to haunt them However, after a year of university ib Canada my kid went to a private university in the eastern USA. They have decided to remain in the USA and now in their mid 30s, they make really good money anf have top line medical insurance which pays for the ongoing care they need because of the damage caused by delays when a teenager. \n\nI found life in the suburbs of Orange County nice but the OC is not a good place to meet people. When after 10 years there, in 2010 I returned to Vancouver to care for my elderly mother. I had been living alone for 6 years by then and was offered the first job in Vancouver anything close to me dream job there. and I returned to Canada at age 59. I had been approved for a green card in 2008 but there was a 6 year wait for it to come through. But I noticed the racism in the USA start breaking out all over the place when Obama got elected. And it has gotten worse and worse every year. Especially with 45 enabling it so much. \n\nMy circle of friends in Southern California are mainly good people and not at all like what we call MAGA-hats now. Except one who thinks 45 was the greatest. Politically, the USA is on the path that Germany was on in 1933 and I fear for the US Democracy if the Orange One gets in again. Even my kid and their spouse have bug out plans to head to Canada just in case. This is why my kid, while having a green card has never taken US citizenship. Besides, being a Canadian has not affected things the two times they got security clearances \n\nWhile most Americans are good people, it seems that about 25% have gone just plain loco and care nothing about democracy. And appear to prefer the USA to be a totalitarian theocracy \n\nI was there long enough, paying the maximum FICA taxes for 10 years to get a small pension from Social Security and I have Medicare Part A. I can afford to buy parts B and D but I see no reason. I have even better coverage in Canada for way less cost. The USA has a nice warm climate in many places and I just loved that. But otherwise y'all have too many people who want to turn the place into an intolerant police state and to return the country to 1950s levels of intolerance, So in my retirement, I will stay here in Canada. Even though I could go and move in with my kid in the USA and get onto US Medicare.

Canadian tech salaries are laughable because our tech industry is laughable. No competition, barely any inventions and not as big of an industry as the US; hence lower salaries. Why tech industries don't flourish here is a million reasons and I wish for it to change one day. Our largest companies are all Banks, Monopolies or Oligopolies and its the one thing I dislike about Canada.\n\nOur largest and only (actual) tech company that isn't a consulting firm IS SHOPIFY. WHICH IS A RECENT THING SHOPIFY HASNT BEEN AROUND FOR THAT LONG so you can tell we are nothing like the US with Apple, Google, Facebook, Twitter, Microsoft, all their subsidiaries and the thousand other tech companies and the thousand other subsidiaries of theirs.

Maybe it's just because of the news, but really, the school shootings are TOP of mind for me. Like, how is that even possible, to have that many crazy people who want to murder children, and not only that, but those crazy people have access to guns? \nI don't say anything to my American cousins, as I realize that they have ties, they've married Americans, they've built a life, and there's no sense me freaking out about things that they won't change, and insulting their choices.\nBut... I was SHOCKED that even after they started having children, they still didn't move back to Canada. They can do it, they have dual citizenship! \n???\nIt's like sending your kids to school on a boat in a river full of crocodiles. It's not guaranteed that nothing bad will happen to them, and it's hard to let them go, but you trust and pray and hope for the best.\nAnd then you see your cousin's kids sailing down that same river sitting on a log with their feet dangling into the water! It's horrifying, even if they assure you that usually the crocs don't come to this side of the river, and mostly they're not hungry in the morning anyway. It seems like reckless disregard. And for what? So the parents can make more money? It's not worth it in my opinion.

I think you missed the ball on two points.\n\n1) although Canada has a higher share of current immigrants, 99% of all americans are descended from at least one great grandparent who came from abroad before settling down. America is a nation of immigrants down into its blood, and the current state of affairs is more a reflection of abberation than the norm, even in spite of our history of the Klan and know nothing party.\n\n2) Québec sets its own immigration policy and it is WAAAAAAY stricter, like, they have a french literacy test that a parisian with a PhD in French literature failed, and when this is brought up most Quebecois say this makes sense because *the French* are doing a poor job of preserving frenchness against encroachment from foreign language and culture. Meanwhile L'Acedemie Français is the chief dead horse to beat amongst folks who want to make jokes of linguistic and cultural prescriltivism.

I personally have nothing against the U.S.A. The majority of countries around the world do not like the U.S.A. and would never consider moving there.

What you think is a cheap living in the USA take an entirely different tone when you consider the vast costs of utilities and other necessities like health insurance. Canadians pay more but they get more back. Americans pay less but their get pretty much nothing from the state in terms of protection. And need we get into the healthcare debate especially for families and children?

One thing I would like to note is that Canada is not welcoming in only highly skilled workers. If you can work at a Tim Horton's you qualify. This has lead to a flood of new workers who HAVE to have a job in order to stay at a time where the existing labour pool is refusing work due to pay lagging far behind inflation for two decades. Those salaries discrepancies you listed are not exclusive to the tech sector, they are economy wide. Often you'll here talk of a labour shortage in Canada, but ask for the number of applicants to jobs and you quickly find out the reason no one accepted is because the full-time job offered requires a part-time job to barely make ends meet. \n\nAnother factor is that housing happens to be the bread and butter of ~40% of our MP's. Hell our Minister of Housing himself owns properties that have appreciated massively due to the lack of supply and high demand. He then goes on national TV and says high immigration will solve the housing crisis despite Canada already having over 4% of our entire labour force already in the construction industries (America is a little over 3%) and the men and women who build our houses being unable to afford the homes they build ($22.07/hr CAD average or ~$16.66 USD. compared to $22.29/hr USD). 14% of our national GDP is housing. 14% of our entire economy is just money changing hands internally with nothing of value made. \n\nThen you have the combo of landlords benefiting from the immigration programs who try and evict the tenants on their properties to replace them with immigrant labour. They then take the cost of rent right out of their salaries. The workers can't quit their jobs because if they don't have a job they are at risk of being deported and also loosing their homes so they end up shacking 8 to an apartment to try and make ends meet. This becomes the standard the rest of the economy has to meet. \n\nIt is a rare sight to see someone who is anti-immigrant in Canada, but the majority of people here understand that immigration is a problem the way it is currently run. You have people who come here hoping for a new life being forced to sleep outside under bridges because while they may have a job they don't have a home and the shelters are already 200% capacity. Tent cities are the norm in any major urban centre now. There are crack dens in Toronto that are the same price as Castles in the UK. And this problem is only going to get worse.

Children getting shot is not a “touchy subject.” It’s an insane problem. And yes, there are children shot daily! Dude, there is no where on the planet where there are children and humans shot on anywhere CLOSE to the scale that it happens in the US.\n\nAnyway, move to the States? Not on your life! I used to like some vacations there, but the current insane right-wing, fascist politics, anti-vax and anti-mask and anti-science entrenched attitudes, and MOSTLY the pervasive threat of gun violence and the manic love affair with guns — UGH - all mean I am not interested in even vacationing there. There is a sane world outside the USA.\n\nNor would I want to live inside such an inward-looking, self-absorbed “we are the centre of the world” culture that truly believes itself superior to all others in the world. The hubris and delusion are very off-putting. \n\nAnd to live in such a broken health care system? Where profits drive it all? Not on your life.\n\nOh, I couldn’t stand the hot weather that so many places have either. No thanks! I’ll take my coldest large city in the world (Winnipeg) any day. \n\nThere is nothing appealing about the prospect of living anywhere in the States, despite WONDERFUL vacations I’ve had there is past decades.

Good video.\nwhile working in Kuwait in a company,my colleague is a Pakistani from Karachi and during working hours ,he used to go to Pakistani Embassy often and curious about his frequent visits to Pakistan Embassy in Kuwait, I asked him why so many visits to their Embassy.\nHe said they are planning to bring their Pastor(my collegue is a chrisitian) from Pakistan to Kuwait on visit visa, unknowingly I asked him what is the problem in getting visit visa and to my surprise he said,Kuwait Governament will not issue Visa to any Pakistani.\n With surprise I asked him why Kuwait govt. will not issue visa to a Pakistani, as both countries are Islamic, then he told me that some Pakistanis bring drugs with them to Kuwait and it has become big issue in Kuwait,then Kuwait govt.decided not to issue any new visas to Pakistanis. I believe even now the Kuwait govt. is not issuing new visas to Pakistanis.\nHe also told me that whenever they want to go to Karachi(as his father works in a govt. Hospital in Kuwait) and once they reach Karachi,their House will be like bhoot bungalow. Nothing is left in that house,even doors,windows and Electricity meter is also stolen and they have to arrange everything new.\nIn my Two and half years stay in Kuwait ,my collegue and his family did not visit Pakistan even once.\nMy question is what Pakistan as an Islamic Country achieved by seperating from India on the basis of a Country for Muslims?.\nOne should aprreciate the couple for boldly accepting lawlessness in Pakistan.

Oh, hell no! And further to that, if I was visiting the US and got sick enough that I might need a hospital, I would do my damnedest to get back to Canada. I have heard Americans say that the healthcare is very good, as long as you have money. But I don’t trust it because Americans have been brainwashed to believe that the US is exceptional in every way (sorry guys, but it’s extremely obvious to the rest of the world), yet I have heard too many stories about things like people picking up C. Diff or other drug-resistant infections in hospitals there.\n\nI spent about two weeks in the hospital in February. You know what it cost me? Absolutely nothing. Well, I did have to pay for taking an ambulance later. But the hospital stay itself cost me nothing. Neither did the food they fed me in there, or the medication they gave me.\n\nMayyyybe if you guys got universal health care (it shouldn’t be tied to your job), and stopped shooting each other so much. You definitely have some better weather. Oh, and if you all toned down the religion a bit. Annnd stopped trying to play world police while simultaneously bombing other countries into oblivion to steal their resources. That’s been going on for far too long, and I don’t think the average American citizen even realizes it.
