I am Canadian-born to Jamaican parents and yes I have been saying this since 2020 I really want to leave so bad this is not the place for me anymore it's not giving. After reading the comments it's funny how people still thinks where you are born or your country origin is home. Imagine thinking that's the definition of home to begin with, sometimes I Just shake my head when I see people using such content to define home. Home dosen't necessarily have to be your country origin or whatsoever. I personally would define home as anywhere with the best of contents I seek along with my Characteristics being blended. \nAlso I don't get why people are criticizing those who said they won't come back, they have there various reasons for moving abroad, it might be for a better life, academic, security and lots other stuffs. If they wanna go back to there home country then good and fine but if they wanna stay and migrate, it's also Good. Migration has always been a thing right from the time of Abraham so in essence allow those who wants to migrate to migrate, they are not the cause of your problems or to why your home country has bad governance. If you don't like the fact that they are migrating or not wanting to go back to there home town then simply ignore them, no need to act bitchy about it, Gosh!

Hello, I have a doubt which I want to clear.. I did my 12th in Non medical in 2014 and in 2015 ,I joined Merchant navy for which I had studied and sailed as well till December 2019 after that due to covid I was at home and was helping my father in his store plus I had my online exams for promotion for the merchant navy as well… now some visa consultants said to me that u are not eligible for going to canada… so will you please tell me that are they saying right or not.? And please can you help me in showing right path so that I can go as well to canada.. please.!

My friend called me yesterday. He said there is something important I want to ask you, but I can't talk over the phone. Let's meet at a coffee shop. I said ok, then we met and he told me he had just met a guy who runs an English school. He asked him for 1200 CAD for the complete package, which includes English level 4 and the Canadian citizenship test. Note (my friends don't speak English), so my friend accepted and left a deposit and was told he has to attend an English school for only 15 days and he will receive a level 4 English efficiency. THAT'S UNFAIR. I HAVE SPENT HOURS LEARNING ENGLISH AND STUDYING FOR THE TEST!!!!! Anyone has an idea how to stop these people??????? Who should I contact???? I live in Ottawa.

You both make valid points about Canada. I am 2nd generation Canadian. I do feel like its expensive here and Even I have a hard time landing a job. (Recently got laid off from my career job, they said I didn't have enough experience to work there). My friends who aren't single and live with their partner, have an easier time living here compared to people who are single & living by themselves. \n\nNight life is boring here. However, daytime life specially in the summer is better. I feel like Canada is more for an outdoor person. Depending where you live, there are beaches, mountains, trails, & lakes to explore. Some parts of Canada even look tropical! We have hot springs here as well!\n\nFor the leisure & work life balance, I feel like that depends on the person. I used to work 2 jobs (not because I was bored or needed the money at the time), I just wanted to save more money & help my friend out with his business. I felt like I had good balance of work & leisure. I hanged out with my friends on Friday & Saturdays then I had my 'me' days on Sundays.\n\nIf you are going to move here, do your research, also I don't think people consider their countries dollar into the equation, what I mean is, if you want to convert your money to Canadian... you might have less money then you have. Example, at this moment, 1 Mexican Peso is 0.066 Canadian dollars, therefor people coming from Mexico might have a hard time afford things in Canada compared to a person who is moving from USA. (1 USA Dollar = 1.31 Canadian Dollar).\n\n\nO btw, I love both you hair!!~

Why are Nigerians not interested in returning home? I really want to travel out but this aspect of not considering returning gives me concern. I have always said if I travel out, I'd like to come back. It's like once they leave, they never want to return.

Everything you have said resonates with a lot of people who live in many different countries around the world. That's because your observations make sense. Only thing, though, is that your reflections harken back to the beginning of time. People have always struggled to survive regardless of where they happened to live on planet earth. Life is tough. I do not mean to dismiss your concerns, but let's think about how our ancestors lived two, three, or more generations ago (or even centuries ago). We probably have it much better than they did. As you know, there isn't a perfect place to live. But, yes, by all means look for places where you'll likely find the lifestyle you want. Absolutely! What I have found is that you'll experience a lot of trade offs. For instance, instead of having to deal with cold, rainy weather, you can find a warm and sunny place, but there will be a constant threat of earthquakes or wild fires. Again, keep looking for that special place, and maybe that process, the process of dreaming and seeking, will be a way of experiencing your paradise (vicariously) -- as dreams can provide things that we can only hope for in reality. In any case, I wish you well!

Thank God for the internet, it allows us to hear the thoughts and feelings of others, especially the young people. Everything you've said is true but the other side of the story is why many people decide to live here. Maybe you should do a piece on why people want to live in Canada. I am here 40 yrs now and i still love this country. If you stay long enough you will get to love it too. differences spark excitement.

I think relocating to Canada and subsequently leaving is a product of not having proper information or having a misconception about a western country before moving there in the first place. There's an emphasis of 'you really have to work hard' for new immigrants which they generally take for granted. Quite frankly, only sincere people empathize on hardwork. I find that most people seeking suggestion/advice always want to start from the top to bottom rather than bottom to top. Every society has it's own challenges. New immigrants who have just been in Canada for only 3years get frustrated while comparing themselves with people who have lived in Canada for 15 years. Growth is a gradually process, when it's automatic it's too good to be true!! All these similar countries run the say type of system, you gotta love where you chose to live. With that being said, we will continue to welcome new immigrants who re willing to start from the beginning to grow their dreams and wave goodbye to people who came and decided to leave. I love Canada ??

Bad things about Saskatchewan:\n-A LOT of snow, A LOT\n- negative 30c is the norm in winter, summer usually plus 25c (It's COLD)\n-housing prices aren't as cheap as the video says... sure you can buy a place for $280,000 :) ...an apartment. \nA new family house made in 2012 costs $550,000, an old one made in 1980 costs $330,000.\n- Not a lot of bang for your buck. Yes, there are jobs in the major cities but the pay isn't so great unless you are a nurse or work in health care. (Best province for upcoming nurses btw) Minimum wage for the win! \n-As I said previously, minimum wage for the win! There are jobs but you don't get paid enough to live without a roommate or almost be constantly broke.\n-Rent is okay. If you DO manage to get a decent paying job, like a teacher, plumber, doctor, etc, rent is cheap.\n-Expensive retirement. Thinking the healthcare is great for seniors? It is. But, get ready to give every last penny to your senior home. A neighbour got a quote from a local seniors home for him and his wife, $65,000 per year (MINIMUM) for the 2 of them. That's how much the old folks home costed.\n-You need a car. If you want to visit outside the major cities, you need a car. In the cities you can survive traffick by bus, but it is better with a car.\n-You can't see northern lights a lot. Not from the cities. You have to go north, north, north, out in the middle of nowhere.\n\nGood things about Saskatchewan: \n-No cougars. Bears and wolves live here, mainly in the north.\n-People are friendly. Good place to raise a family.\n-Great healthcare. Has most covered in universal healthcare I think out of every province. Seniors like to move to Saskatchewan for retirement. It's cheaper than Vancouver or Toronto.\n-Food prices are alright. Not good, not bad, just okay. Even a poor single mother can buy some food I think.\n-Lots of land. There is lots of flat land here. When I was a little girl growing up in Belize I ONLY wanted to come to America to be with my mother.. she brought me to America when I was 11 years old by the time I was 14 years old I had so much anger I ask my self, why would she bring me to America? I wanted to know why didn't she just leave me in Belize and take care of me from there. I hate it here, who would do this to their children? why would you take me from Paradise and bring me to hell... I know my mother wanted a better life for me but all I saw was loneliness anger family separated the food is not healthy the air is not healthy the education I care nothing for Meaning what I was being taught in school would not prepare me for the real world... with that being said I truly truly appreciate all the sacrifice that my mother did I love and appreciate America but I can't wait to move back home. ? The U.S. is very large, and there are many different types of people and many different types of neighborhoods, cities, and communities. I have lived where neighbors knew one another very well, and their kids would play ball in the street or play baseball at the local park or playground. I have lived where there are walking trails where you would see the same familar faces time and again. I have lived where there were many community activities. There are places where you can find farmer's markets and where churches are large and hold events. Our town has many groups that you can join, and there is a local theater. There are cities of course, where you can find all sorts of things to do. People do have a tendency in many places to have their spaces, and as most people do have what they need within those spaces...and many are spending more and more time on computers and watching televisions, we are becoming more estranged than we once were. We have come to value privacy. But, again, there are many many people with many different lifestyles. Today I went to shop at two different stores and ended up in conversations with several people. One man invited me to visit his farm. One woman told me all about her home and garden. Another lady told me about her daughter and what was going on with their family. I did not feel like a stranger, and the people I saw working in different businesses today were talkative and interacting with many other people, including friends and neighbors and other familiar faces. it just takes a little effort to smile and to speak. That being done, I was very happy to return to my home and have my own space again, where I knew I could take a nap without anyone knocking unexpectedly on my door. So....it depends on what you want. I would hesitate to paint the U.S. with a very broad brush. \nThat being said, it is very difficult to leave your home behind. It can be very difficult to stop seeing differences because you did love so many things about where you grew up, though you might not realize how much you will miss them until you've gone. I feel that in myself, and I have to be very careful not to miss the potential and possibilities where I am, because I am always thinking about how I miss where I once was.

As an Indian living in Australia , I can relate with every single word said here. Australia like most western countries, is good if you wish to make some money but not so good if you want to have an active social life. its cold and desolate most times of the year. Hardly any sun in the south eastern states. People keep to themselves and indoors most of the time. .Social life is almost non existent which can cause serious psychological issues., Depression being very common. Kids here develop serious mental issues right from a young age . If you are a single man its even worse. If you want happy healthy active social life, avoid going to western countries.

Sir I have shifted to UK ..around 5 months ago...I spent around 12 years in Saudi arabia before.\nThe main difference between our country and this country is the PEOPLE.\nIts not the prices..the money etc that makes you feel better. I was earning good in saudia as well but here...its the people..that make you feel better.\nWe booked a hotel here for quarantine and the Pakistani agent who paid for us by a credit card used a fake card number or what. We received a letter from the govt about 2285 pounds due to be paid. Of course thats alot of money for new comers...and as you said there was no payment plan or anything discussed in the letter.I called them back and the first thing they asked me was Are you alright right now? Do you need anything from us? And that was...an experience I never had before in my life. Then they discussed the way outs for the dues.\nSame goes for the jobs..the positions..the hiring...not the SAUDI/AJNABI shit going on at all ! Or the bribes we have to pay in Pakistan to get a basic job !\nThe difference in HUMANITY is big sir...among our countries and these. This is just un doable now. Honestly, as a Canadian living in Vancouver which is the most expensive city in Canada, I can barely afford to pay for my monthly home mortgage in addition to the monthly condo fee, buy my weekly groceries, put gas in my vehicle at this time of hyper-inflation. I really don't want my income tax, consumption taxes (GST and PST which is a tax on tax), carbon tax, and property tax collected by the various levels of governments from me so that my hard earned money would be squandered on these Uranian refugees. I don't owe any of them a living. The news media said there would be tens of thousands of them wanting to settle in Vancouver. If these refugees are entitled to government benefits after they arrive, then so should I! Where are we housing these refugees when we can't even house the homeless people in East Hastings?

The problem with Canada is that it is a giant, socialized mafia-ran ponzi scheme. There is so much red tape around EVERYTHING, all by design in order to expand bureaucracy. The immigrants that are allowed here are just tax slaves harvested as Canada has some of the highest taxes in the world. Want to get a job? 3 references, so much years experience blah blah. Want to become a trades person? 5 years with poor pay and schooling. Want to build a house? Good luck. 10 years for zoning. The list goes on and on. Born and raised here, and someone said it the best in the comments that Canada is basically a tax haven for real estate. It's a money laundering paradise. Stay as far away as you can from this country, it is a welfare deathtrap.

We want him taking college in Vancouver, we both have a job here in Chile, and it would be a real challenge, I think as you said, the key is to be flexible and open-mind. I want to take a degree while my kids take the college or even high school, I have a lot to think about yet, difficult decision.

Many leave their own country, and come to Canada BECAUSE of their dislikes; extremism, culture, religion, laws, identity and in some cases backwards thinking; attempt to turn what we in society would consider as sexist, and discriminatory in some examples….\n\n…however when those same individuals finally achieve citizenship, or in some cases this starts (attempt to change Canadian law(s)) before obtaining citizenship, making moves to force the above, everything they despised, hated or disliked about their own country, into this new country ? I moved to Canada about 17 years ago and yes it is an absolute pain to jump through all the hoops they want you to go through. I was only here a few days and I came from Ireland as a brick and stone mason they recruited me from Ireland and wanted me to come out. Within three days on the job I learned I would be getting less wages than the other bricklayers. I packed up my tools and walked off the job I notified the employer and the union by emails and told him I’d be flying back home in a few days. Well the union and the employers came running straight away to get me to stay. Trying to explain that after a couple of months I’d be on the same money as the rest of the guys. This is where I explain to them that taking home C$1100 was already a pay cut a massive pay cut as are used to take home 2500 to 2200 Euros living in Ireland. I moved to Canada for a change of lifestyle but that doesn’t mean I was going to be taken advantage of. And that’s when they said they would pay me the same as everybody else. Sometimes you just have to stand up for yourself and be willing to follow through. They even reimbursed me for the airline ticket I bought to go back. Some skill sets they really need in this country in addition Canadians population growth is absolutely dependent upon immigration as the family sizes and birth rates are critically to lol to sustained a country. As I’ve said I’ve been living here 17 years now and I am a Canadian citizen I guess that makes me an Irish Canadian now.

when it comes to cultural differences, what you said there is a huge huge generalization. Why? Some preferred cultural behavior might be true for tiny nations (or small geographic areas). That is because of rather reasonable distances, habits could spread all over that area within past centuries (that is how all that is made). But talking even about Russians is a heavy stereotype. By best guess your Russians from around Moscow area and those close to eastern Chinese borders would differ more than those groups of of Chinese (or Mongolian if Mongolia is also close by), that are right on the other side of that eastern border with their Russian counterparts. And of course by Russians I mean here citizens of Russia and not their ethnicity. \nSo Saying how Europeans are all reserved (which funny enough if you mean Europe geographically would include Moscow), is just a huge misstep. It is like calling all USA citizens to be same way (something you might really want to avoid doing if ever you visit USA).\nAlso Climate. First of all Ontario is not the other name for Toronto or GTA area. It is rather big province. So that weather heavily depends if you are sitting in Toronto, Ottawa, North Bay or Windsor. That humid weather as you stated is only truth for the parts that are closer to those big lakes.\nAnd for the love of god. Canada DOES NOT have a paid insurance. Each province has its own paid insurance. So while certain things might be free in one province (like emergency ambulance), it is partially paid in other province.

Quebec if you want to freeze your ass off in Winter and boil in Summer because of the humidity. Montreal is a great cosmopolitan, diverse city. But as the man said, better learn the Quebec version of the french language. It is a very sensative subject.

I agree with everything you have said in this video. I've lived in Canada for over 10 years and must admit, i don't feel at home here at all. I feel Canada is overrated for no reason. House prices are insane, it's almost impossible to buy housing in any big city in Canada anymore. I agree with a lot ppl, the healthcare system here is poorly managed, with long waiting hours if you have an emergency (personal experience). As someone living in a big city in Ontario, it feels like everyone is just busy chasing money. Nobody has time for friends, chilling, etc...Sometimes i feel i have to book an appointment with my own friends if i want them to hang out with them. As an immigrant myself, i must say I hate the mass-immigrant policy that the government is pushing. The neighbourhood i live in, has changed face/demographics so many times... Every group sticks to their own and it feels you'll never be able to adapt as it keeps changing so fast... I also don't like how Canada is pushing their far left agenda down the throat of everyone, with being Politically Correct, promoting LGBQT to underage kids (i don't have any issue with what ppl do in their bedroom, i just have issue with the promotion of it), minority this & that (even though im considered a minority myself). If you come from a middle income country, you'd soon realise Canada ain't so much better than where you come from esp if you have education, healthcare and jobs available. I'm only waiting to win that lotto max now, so i can just return back home and live a quiet peaceful life.

That’s the biggest thing, if you want to be a American or Canadian then learn the language. \n\nI’m Latin and my father n uncles hated going places in the US and another Latin would speak Spanish to them. Even though they could speak Spanish they said this is America speak English. \n\nNot all minorities like seeing people coming into the country illegally or by trying to use asylum when they have no claim. If it’s hard in your country don’t have kids, try to immigrate legally to a country!
