I had the same issues as an expat in other countries and other expats who I talked to too. It's always the same.\n\nLanguage barrier:\nFor day to day activities it's less of a problem in bigger cities. For most jobs you simply need a higher level of a language for team work. If you're motivated I believe you can get to C1 in 6 months, with good learning techniques. That said you're probably not motivated. Learning a new language feels like hard work and you feel awkward speaking it.\n\nHard to meet friends:\nSame for all other countries. Create your own social circles or try sports, similar interests to get to know people. \n\nHow people treat you:\nIf you feel unwelcome, it's probably just all in your head because you're not accustomed to a different culture, so you feel like a foreigner. Got nothing to do with Germany, but with being an expat. \n\nRacism:\nProbably less of a problem in western Germany and bigger cities. Avoid east Germany. Also see previous point.

I think it's good that we run this kind of story. Most landlords especially for condos like this one in Toronto, are owned by regular folks who still work a job and have budgets and families. They aren't greedy, they aren't big corporations; they're just people who bought investment properties and want to rent them out for a price. Canada needs landlords because not every can or even wants to buy real estate.\n\nWhen you see stories like this, which I think are outliers, they're good reminders that being a landlord is risky and income properties don't print money. It's also a reminder to good tenants (which are most tenants) that your landlord isn't being paranoid when they ask for references, proof of income, etc. They would rather scare you off then be saddled with a non-paying, non-leaving tenant (rare as they may be) and they don't know you (and you don't know them).

There is no labor shortage (Fachkräftemangel) in Germany. This is a fairy tale (Märchen) no one believes. They just need more people who don't know the system to feed their low-wage market. Please, don't fall into that trap. Look for better countries.

I mean, you come to a country and you have to adjust and learn the language. Pretty straightforward, and most of us are doing it.\n\nBut when on the other side you have people who do not understand the effort and have no patience for it, it is a frustrating experience. And more and more it seems to me they do not even care (other than the few german friends I have, who always make me second guess my generalisation).

Yes there are a lot of issues that needs to be addressed. However, its immature to blame every problem onto immigration. Most of us dont know enough about how things really works. Its not like if we stop immigration then all these problems would be fixed, in fact i think we need this population growth due to low birth rates and lack of labor etc. In my personal experience i see in real life where immigrants are working and contributing in all kinds of fields, such as construction, health care and elderly care … instead of pointing fingers, first educated ourselves on this topic, and then think about how we can make this work, i think that would be more beneficial for everyone.

It's really sad to see this ..these kids don't come from great financial backgrounds ..and looting them for 20 to 25 lakhs is like a crime. It's like more educated way to loot someone. Canada has to start recognising degrees from other countries. Here in B.C. we have emergency rooms closing overnight due to lack of staffing. We need doctors and nurses yet the barriers for those immigrating to get their degrees recognised mean many never qualify.\n\nCanada also needs to look at who we are admitting in and to terminate the family unification policy. When immigration was helping the country grow there was a different demographic coming in. Often it was single men or young married couples. As they came by themselves they assimilated into the mosiac of the country. When you concentrate on immigrants from one country instead of assimilating they setup ethnic communities. \n\nLook into what study groups have said that is contributing to gang violence. It's ethnic groups that have the grandparents, parents and grand kids all living in one home. The grandparents want the grand kids to adhere to their native culture. Unfortunately by time you get to the grand kids they are Canadian. They speak English/French depending where they live with little interest in speaking their ethnic language. There is cultural conflict within the home hence street life is where they find love and caring.\n\nSome cultures are not as community minded. Part of the high cost of renting/housing is based on greed not need. In my own community I know of apartment units now renting at 2,500 - 4,000/month owned by the same people that even five years back you could have rented for 500 - 800. There is no justification for that percentage of increase other than greed.\n\nJob opportunities. Summer employment for school kids is going down yearly. You see local business that use to hire students over the summer month claiming they can't find any workers. They bring in TFW yet Canadian students can't find work. You can tell the owners nationality of a business by the nationality of the workforce. A local store bought by a east Indian two years ago which at the time had a diverse workforce is now entirely staffed by east Indians. Yet who screams racist? \n\nCanada definitely needs to reconsider its immigration policy and bring in major changes.

I got laid off 5 weeks ago ( no renewal of contract).. after 7 years working for that NFP.. I applied for snap and unemployment… while applying for jobs( social worker field)… first, they ask for so many documents… including my bank account….( again I was laid off .. not fired nor left my job, nor finding reasons not to work all those years ), department of labor had a mandated zoom meeting to discuss what I needed to do 4 weeks after I was laid off( like i don’t know)… I ve been working for years and paying taxes… a lot of them in NYC, I was also told that I have to show what I am doing to search for work and eventually should take a job( even if the salary is low..ridiculous)… I was also informed that I may get a call from investigator from DOL..they may call individuals receiving unemployment benefits($441 a week after taxes?)… to verified that I was searching and applying for jobs( even though I enter my activities related to work weekly on their website…..)….. meanwhile… people with 0 legal documentation are entering the US and living here, free snap, free housing, free health insurance!!!! Lala land!!!! Can’t wait for this non sense to stop!!! Every corner of NY , you see families begging for money. Food…I feel bad as a human being, but refuse to help or I ll be joining them too… welfare system needs to change too! The politics NEED to change!!!All the best !

The percentage I saw is small bcos I know that the Indians are more than that in Brampton. Is just that they don't use Brampton address because of auto insurance. I agree that immigration should be regulated based on need or requirement. But let me ask this, are Canadians willing to work in the fields and do all blue-collar jobs for $8/hour? I don't know about Canada, but the problem in the US is that most Americans don't want to do these tasks for low pay so businesses rely on immigrant workers. If businesses pay a higher salary they won't be competitive with foreign companies. There is no easy solution to this. At least Canada doesn't have a green card lottery (which is 100% useless) system but a skilled-based immigration.

As a Filipino watching the economy of USA from afar, I think that no other politician has shown significant concern to help its economy except for Trump. He's pretty bold and not scared to voice out issues that make the democrats uncomfortable. It is not for me to decide who others will vote. However, I see a leader in Trump and he's not afraid to fight back. It's only a matter of time for the Chinese to create its own microchips that are of novelty and prestige. They will cope and soon establish theirs given their population and government financial backing. Trump was right to put trade war against them to regulate foreign trade as it did with Japan. If this won't halt, imagine a future where the Chinese RMB will be the basis of international trade. You don't know the real plan of the Silk Road guys. Americans are conquerors and we have adjusted with their ways already. And, the Chinese are conquerors as well. Their goal is to really surpass the USA. The rise of China has benefited every ASEAN member, but greatly the former than the latter. We can adjust with their ways. USA can use its weapons and influences against other countries, but can it hold the progress of it's rival economy for the rest of the years? You guys need a leader who is competitive and won't back down from a fight.
