I am constantly annoyed by the following, but because I was born in Canada, I would be cancelled for saying the things you can. I am also Indian. Here’s the list that comes to mind. I might come back and edit this because I am sure there are things I am forgetting: \n\n- coughing into your elbow instead of your hands (literally watched a guy yesterday on the bus cough into his hands then put his hands onto the support bar)\n\n- Standing to the side and letting people off the train so you can get on instead of trying to walk through people who are trying to get off \n\n- Standing up and moving to the side to let somebody off on an inside seat of the bus. I have a butt. I don’t want to be squeezing by you \n\n- Taking off their backpack while standing on the bus and putting it between their legs\n\n- Moving to the back of the bus instead of crowding by the doors\n\n- Standing in lines to get onto the bus instead of crowding\n\n- Not littering. Either put your garbage in the bin or take it with you. Stop leaving it on the beach or on hiking trails.\n\n- Learn about hiking before attempting it. We have people going up in jeans and flip flops in the evening and getting stuck on mountains or injured. Some wear running shoes but they don’t have enough traction for the trail\n\n- Shovel the sidewalk in front of your home when it snows\n\n- Stop dousing yourself with axe body spray. \n\n- Understand that Indian food makes your clothes smell. It gives off oils that get stuck in everything. Open your windows and doors when cooking to minimize this as much as possible. You won’t be able to resolve this entirely but do what you can. The skytrain now smells like Indian food even when empty. \n\n- Stop riding your bikes and scooters on the sidewalk. It’s illegal and you have a responsibility to learn the rules \n\n- Stop hiring everybody that you know. Before nepotism was all about networking, but nowadays, it seems to be about hiring Indian people that you know. I am being discriminated by employers because they think I will do the same once I am in. Diversity in teams matters. Indian immigrants don’t seem to believe in this and think all that matters is the most qualified get the job. This is how you end up building facial recognition models that don’t recognize Black people. \n\n- You work at McDonald’s. Stop blasting Indian music. The McDonald’s by my place is blasting Indian music from the back and it overtakes the restaurant music. \n\n- In a work environment, even if it is all Indians, speak English. You ostracize your fellow colleagues and customers. You are also not improving your English skills by speaking in your primary language.\n\n- Make an effort to make non-Indian friends. It’s really intimidating even as an Indian to see large packs of Indian men\n\n- Learn how to swim. Every year we have multiple drownings at a lake because Indian people are unprepared for the reality of the water. This is a basic safety skill.\n\n- Stop staring at women. Even as an Indian woman I get stared at by these guys. Just stop. \n\n- Get headphones. Playing music or having conversations on speakerphone in public places is rude and very inconsiderate of others \n\n- Stop cheating. Whether that’s cheating the system or during classes. We grow up here and environment that even though we can cheat, the culture makes it completely unethical and you just don’t. The consequences are significant. I get it that you come from a country that doesn’t have enough resources for its population, but you give the entire Indian community a bad name when you cheat, lie, and do other unethical things.\n\n- Learn about Canadian values. The Canadian charter of rights and freedoms exists. Under it cases were won supporting equality for women, LGBTQ rights, etc. this is built into our constitution and it’s so ridiculous to come across people who don’t adopt Canadian values. Why choose Canada if you want a culture of what’s back at home. \n\n- I get it that our healthcare system needs to improve but am disappointing reading advocacy for private healthcare in Indian Facebook groups in Canada. Tommy Douglas was voted as the greatest Canadian. He is the founding father of our nationalized healthcare system. For the most part, Canadian are happy that we don’t have a healthcare system like the United States, where your access is determined by your employer or your income. We don’t go bankrupt when we have a health emergency. Go back to India or go to another place where you can pay for private healthcare, but stop advocating to transition our healthcare system to a private system. While you’re at it go look up who was determined to be some of the greatest Canadians.

As a Canadian, I agree with this move - especially if they have problems following Canada’s safety policies and are always doing a crime here. Trudeau is now under pressure because statistics have shown how much crime like car theft and robbery are done by this certain group of people, and Canadians are truly fed up!

Would the Indian people accept Canadians if they demanded India change to make them more comfortable there?

I don't think most Canadians would have a problem with Indians in Canada if the number of them here was smaller. Large groups of people in a society who have or are perceived as having close affinity to each other and limited affinity to the society at large will provoke suspicion and resentment, it has happened again and again in history.

Also, staff from Immigration Canada is bypassing all the other ethnic groups. Even PRs who've been here for a long time are waiting for their citizenship, but they are prioritizing Indians!

I'm 52 years old and a Canadian citizen my whole life. Canada has always been a welcoming country. I have friends from every part of the world here in Canada. But in the couple years there has been a brutal influx of Indians in Canada. My build alone had maybe 3 Indian households. Now more than 60% of the building is indians. And the problem is 6 to 8 people living in a 2 bedroom apartment. We use to have 1 garbage bin in the basement. Now we have 3 and they are over flowing and they leave garbage everywhere( I've watched them do it). Not everyone has house keys so they leave the security door open all hours of the day allowing criminals to get into the building. They have shit in the laundry room and the garage(I have seen this happen). They smoke in the building halls and lobby. They Dont use laundry detergent when washing their clothes so the laundry machines stink really bad. I have to was the laundry machine before even putting my clothes in.Also they have taken every job in the business in my neighborhood. They aren't very friendly. They come into my restaurant and act like entitled brats and hang out for 6 to 7 hours in groups of 20 and don't tip. They're loud and demanding. Now our regular client's have stopped coming. Since these new Indians have come here they have tainted everything. I have never been a racist individual in my whole life. My family is very diverse. We are white, black, packistan, and Asian. In the last 3 years I am so disgusted in the quality of people that have been coming to this country. The biggest group is Indians. I'm sorry but be don't need any more of these assholes. We have enough of our own assholes

International students and Temporary Foreign workers are NOT IMMIGRANTS. There is a conspiracy going on and no one wants to admit to it. Some secret group of elite people has bought out the government and manipulate the Indians to go to certain countries to the west. I never usually comment, but really had to speak up. Those of you from the US should not be involved in this conversation considering ur melting pot country with little diversity who is unaccustomed to diversity anyways (i went to america and was shocked at how little coloured minorities there were, and if there were it was just one type that was not brown). Canada has always had brown people, and many of the people you are talking about could be those that immigrated many years ago here or those that were born here. This is different from those immigrating who are also brown - you are grouping those from all different countries in South Asia (with brown skin) as Indian. Just because you see a brown person working in Walmart, it could just be someone who was born here or came here a long time ago. Brown people and Indians included are not in a majority in any way - just look at the population stats.

The Trudeau government has been bending the rules concerning immigrants studying in Canada. The loudest of this group are foreign students from India. The conditions of their student visas include that they must have the ability to support themselves while they are studying in Canada. This is common with students from India, they lie about their financial circumstances to get the visa, then they come here and complain they need financial help. Why would Canadian tax payers foot the bill for a bunch of fraudsters. If they are found to be in violation of the conditions that govern their eligibility for their student visa, then the laws should be applied and they should be deported immediately. If they can't obey the laws and obligations necessary to obtain and keep their student visa, then it's a no-brainer. The world is taking advantage of the good will of Canadians, enough already. Send the liars and scammers home.

Eastern countries culture will never be watered down, yet we aren’t allowed to keep our westernised countries. I have no issue with being a multi-cultural country (Australia), however I take issue with multiculturalism. Immigrants of the past, would move to a westernised country and adopt the culture, lifestyle , mix with the locals and be proud to be one of them, that’s a multi-racial society. Multiculturalism on the other hand is Muslims and Indians etc that are known for not assimilating, instead living in enclaves and recreating their home country within our country. Why should these people who have zero interest in our culture , people and way of life be welcomed into our westernised countries where all they care about is using our resources? It’s absolutely absurd our governments allow this to happen! In Australia, Indians are the second highest intake, soon to be number one. There are so many of them, soon Australia will be India and Australians of all nationalities will be the minority in our own country. They buy up all the food businesses in the area, and fire all the non-Indians, they take up all the jobs in IT and low paying jobs due to being cheap labour. In teams, they ostracised the non-Indians on the team. Aussie suburbs now look like parts of India with them having multiple local fb networking groups where hoards of them take over the local park, playing their music loudly on the weekends. Ignorant people see them as mild mannered, they don’t see the dangers of how racist they can be to non-Indians and how rapidly they take over areas. When they become the majority in Australia, the non-Indians are going to be pushed out of their country. Unlike other migrants (with the exception of Muslims) they refuse to blend in and co-exist and become Aussies. They plan to overtake and destroy our countries into versions of their home country hell holes.

So they should change rule because of one group? \nThe past policy was not good to all, some suffered.

Sorry Indians are doing what they do in India! They bring their corruption and pollution mentality! They want to be rich overnight and live it up then show it off to each other, see how rich, successful & toxic I am so rest crowd follow the foot steps! Now there are many great Indians and do have ethics & moral. You do not feel unease around them.i just chose my friends carefully! Again immigration brings all different types of people! Many worked hard to have what thru have and are humble but this new generation is really materialistic and entitled! When one person’s bad behavior is rewarded then many follow and it become a culture of the group!

The Prime Minister Trudeau wanted to create problems in India ,his migration policies clearly showed this and India has been warning since decade to not harbour people with extreme ideology. Canadian government went to such a extent that they divided Indians based on religion and ethnicity in Canada, so they had Indian, Punjabi, Sikh and Hindu 4 categories for Indian people. I am a finland National and i did my student exchange in Canada for 3 months 4years ago with Lots of indian students in my class,i honestly admire their hardworking and resilient spirit,i still have few them as friends,though i am back in Finland and employed,so also is my Indians friends they are employed in canada and paying taxes,I am just curious why Canada is targeting and don't want this group in Canada,maybe Canadians don't need more workers :)

I'm in the production/entertainment industry and its filled with foreigners, mainly europe/africa. Both of these groups are getting the majority of the work at a lower cost for the employer, which makes it very difficult for a citizen to even get their foot in the door. The other thing is that both of these groups show signs of some kind of infection, they have bright pink spots all over. Health and safety is not even a concern anymore?

Every ethnic group in North America have been through this. The Greek community faced a pogrom in canada and many were killed, just bcos a Greek restaurant owner refused services to an ex serviceman. I grew up in Canada and I'm white. When I went to high school everyone who I met grew up in the country so it was very easy to socialize and make friends. When I went to college it was a very big culture shock because everyone traveled to Canada from another country mostly India, Korea, China and the Philippines. Most indians/immigrants ive interacted with are insanely smart people. In high school all the native Canadians were a lot less intelligent vaping is a huge issue but everyone was highly social so I was able to fit in easily even though im a pretty unlikeable person. The problem is that in college I couldn't really make any friends because of the cultural differences and since native Canadians are very rare where I was studying the culture was also kinda different. So it kinda makes me feel like im an alien in my own country. But honestly everyone kept to them selves a lot more. There are a bunch of other factors like people hyper focusing on studying but I wish people would just socialize more instead of just doing their own thing.\n\nI still remember back in high school when people used to know about everything that happened if there was something that happened everyone would know about it because everyone would talk about it there were group chats with tons of people in it where people would organize things or share memes. I think people should take inspiration from this and probobly do this more often but now its honestly just very lonely.
