Post-secondary institutions are underfunded in Canada. The tuition they charge domestic students can’t offset their operating costs, so they have relied on international students, whose tuition they can make much higher, in order to cover the shortfall. Note that this is also exploitative of international students; don’t blame them, the system is not their fault. The government should provide more funding to post-secondary institutions if they want high quality and affordable education accessible to all Canadians. Cutting visas won’t change that, nor will scapegoating immigrants.

as a young canadian i got denied from alot of the schools i wanted to go to, i figured it was probably because my grades weren't perfect, but the reason i want to go is to improve! and yet when i visit the school its almost entirely immigrants who pay 4 times as much, not 100% sure thats the reason but i cant help but make that comparison

Our military today is a high-technology force with career professional officers and enlisted personnel. The U.S. military exists to defend the country in war or prepare for war against foreign threats. Trump could quickly hollow out the military as career experts leave. The military does not exist for civilian police functions. It is illegal and unconstitutional for the U.S. military to arrest civilians or enforce immigration laws. The American military is apolitical. No one swears an oath to any political leader but only to our Constitution. Mass deportations of undocumented people living in the United States won't be done with the help of the Army, National Guard, or other military services. The U.S. military does not have to follow illegal or unconstitutional orders. Military officers do not want to engage in civilian police functions or enforce immigration laws. Trump firing military officers would hollow out the military, likely destroying our readiness to fight future wars.

Any politician/corporation/CEO that supports, ignores or enables the breaking of laws, should be considered to be in breach of those laws as well. I am definitely ok on cracking down illegal immigration and there should be criminal charges for employers that employ these migrant workers with slave wages. However with that being said to deport almost 20 million people that make up more than 50% agricultural workers in the country is a logistical nightmare. Once these migrants go these jobs will need to be filled presumably by Americans that command higher wages. I mean if Trump said he wanted to bring cost of groceries down this might not turn into a good plan.

I'm a master's student at a top university in the US, my dream is to be staying here LEGALLY and after years of work I want to build my own family and company here. My background is checked before I came here and I'm entitled to the laws here. There's a piece missing in the puzzle. Has anyone asked where's Mexico in all of this? everyone seems to forget that they're America's southern neighbor, and they're not helping with anything to mitigate the border crisis. Mexico has to be sanctioned, because they're not actively partaking in the protection of the shared border with the US, they're allowing immigrants to cross the border unchecked, sparing themselves the trouble of dealing with them. They're throwing the ball in America's court, making immigration America's problem. Since they share the border with America, they have an obligation to combat illegal immigrantion but they're not doing that. They want to get rid of their crimnals and the poverty in their country not by enforcing the law and trying to invest in their infrastructure to enhance the living standards of their people, instead they're encouraging them to move to America to find a better life. America doesn't have to pay the price of Mexico being a failed country. Now that she was able to become a citizen, rather than helping her family members to get their legal status, which can be difficult, tedious and very expensive, she could care less if the lives they have already spent decades on building here are completely destroyed. She seems to be fully aware that it can be a difficult process, and I personally have seen that it’s not exactly a fair one either. I have seen some people spend not only years waiting on a hearing or a determination, but spend thousands they scrape together on lawyers and obtaining records, while others submit minimal evidence and get a determination in weeks. Instead of admitting that there are problems with the system and vote for people who are actually trying to help, she wants the same system that made it a difficult process for her to stay the same for them. In fact she voted for someone who is going to make it harder if not impossible for them to come back the right way in the first place. Is she not thinking? If they get deported, that is going into immigration records and when that gets pulled up when they apply to come back it will likely cause any legally efforts to return to be rejected. And who knows how long that will stay in their system? Could be years, could be permanent. Biden’s idea to help those undocumented who are married to citizens to be able to apply and get a temporary visa to stay here while they wait so that families wouldn’t have to be broken up by having the applicant return to their country of origin. That was not just a great idea from a humanitarian point, but they could apply for a job that wasn’t going to take advantage of them by paying below minimum wage, with no rights if they are injured. That could help bring local wages up. They would start contributing back by paying their fair share of taxes, and do on. Republicans in red states stopped it though and are suing the Biden administration for trying to do what? Help people and fix some of the issues that our broken immigration system has caused? \nSorry lady, but you earned your family’s ire and whatever treatment you get from the administration you voted for.

I'm also an immigrant, been in Canada for 16 years, came here initially for uni. It's funny that I have no negative feelings towards immigrants from any other countries but India. And I didn't have any negative feeling toward them before I came to Canada, if anything, I only remember something positive my grandma telling me about Indian people being beautiful, that they have big beautiful eyes. After I came to Canada, over the years, based on countless personal experiences dealing with them, sadly my conclusion is 99% of them are bad, 1% are the exception. They are aggressive, rude, stinky, unhygienic, dishonest, always trying to take financial advantage of people or situations to save a few more bucks by being super annoying or cheating, extremely disrespectful and aggressive towards women!! Really nothing is appealing about them. And at a job position, 1 Indian will bring 10 Indians, 10 will bring 100, they are slowly encroaching the environment and taking over everything. Other races try to assimilate into the local culture, while the Indians are imposing theirs onto the local and other cultures. Canada feels like it's turning into a second India. It's lost its politeness, manner, rules etc. I no longer want to live here, I plan to move back to my country after a few years. And I don't really go to Tim Hortons anymore cuz the Indians are taking over all the franchises and lowered the standards of Hygiene and friendliness. I find that ironic insomuch as everyone here, other than Native Americans, are or are descendants of immigrants. Did they all come here legally?
