At least our banks in Australia don’t go broke like in US . Since the Covid lock downs a lot of people are homeless all around the world . I live in Sydney and I could not care less if we are isolated . We still can visit New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and South East Asia . I rather live in Australia than overseas because my relatives in the UK , and Cyprus didn’t care to spend time with me when I visited there . Their attitudes are not laid back . Anyway there are international students who find work here in Australia . We have heaps of lovely places in Australia to visit . There are amazing places in Western Australia and the rest of Australia to see . I agree Canada is amazing as I have been there but it doesn’t mean Australia is a dump like you are saying . I am sorry that you had a bad experience here but it doesn’t mean Australia is a horrible country to live in . There is beauty in our deserts thank you .

Countries in courage this so they can get employment in the US and send cash back to their families back home. That helps their economy and their government doesn't have to spend as much money to help their own people. So Americans are helping to take care of their citizens for them. My friend is from Mexico who came to the US legally and has been a border officer for many years now. He has a very hard time telling Mexican migrants that they cannot enter the US illegally. But the law is law and it is the same if you enter Mexico. It's just a matter of Mexico doesn't have many opportunities for jobs that pays well and it's a better life in the US. I grew up with migrants all of my life. They worked 3 jobs for many hours per day but would rather have that than go back to Mexico - with no job. If Mexico had a flourishing economy, I feel migration isn't an issue. But then there's history - California belongs to Mexico but someone sold it to the Americans long ago.

This is a result of Venezeula and their economic collapse. If it happened sooner, it would've happened during Trump's time. My wife, a teacher here in North Carolina and I, a hard working legal migrant worker and a tax payer were given a temporary visa to stay and work here in the US for 5 years and we need to exit this july because of the US revise law. I do not understand why the US government doesn’t want to give us visa that will allow us to stay long. In my working place, theres a lot of workers(asylum) from south america mostly from haiti and they keep on coming. The number of black haitian are more that the number of combine black and white american. I would say.. this people are lazy, loud, rude, can’t speak english well yet the US government look’s like they prefer them than us.

My work which is at a hotel just got a bunch of Puerto rican immigrants who are working and living at the hotel for free and they get paid and they treat all the other workers with disrespect and leave everything a mess and break rules constantly and can’t even talk to the managers and we’re all trying to be as understanding as we can be because I honestly can’t imagine going through immigration like that but still there’s no rules for them and meanwhile us other workers who are American and don’t get paid as much and don’t have the amenities that they do it’s just kind of a ridiculous situation in my opinion. There’s no structure or organization with it and it doesn’t make sense that we’re illegally transporting immigrants all over the us and giving them the free pass for most all things without even going through the legalization process. Like I can completely understand immigration and see nothing wrong with it when it’s done legally, but I don’t understand why we’re disregarding the people already in the long process of legally immigrating. I might just be very ignorant in the issue but that’s my personal take on the issue. It doesn’t make sense to me. I will say I have absolutely nothing against any person who’s an immigrant but just the rules and regulations surrounding the situation. I don’t mean to step on anyone’s toes or offend anyone.

Canada accepts more than 2.5x the immigrants per capita as the US. That is with a far more rigid system. So yes, those requesting asylum are treated humanely and under international law. That doesn't mean they will ultimately be accepted. As far as legal immigration, there is a defined system so only those needed are accepted. It's not always perfect, but it allows immigration to benefit the country.

There is supposedly an agreement between Canada and the US called the Safe Third Country Agreement which means illegal immigrants are supposed to apply for asylum in the first country they come to. Unfortunately, because of Trump, the Canadian government doesn't trust any US government to give these asylum seekers a fair hearing. Second, this agreement only applies to official border crossings, not unofficial ones like Roxham Road. Trudeau is absolutely right in wanting to renegotiate the Safe Third Country Agreement.

Biggest difference USA has was more places to live every variety of climate you could ask for. It has way more opportunity because of the higher population. Way more jobs, way more national parks. They're extremely similar countries but I have to give it to the US is the variety of places to live. Canada may be bigger but most of it is a desolate wasteland. The only nice places to live in Canada are cities directly on the border. As far as how nice people are Canadians are just polite not always genuine. If an American is nice to you odds are they actually like you or they're someone you can't trust. But generally if a Canadian in nice to you they could hate your guts. An American seeing how Canadians act gives them a idolized view of who we are. If an American doesn't like you you'll know it and if they do like you you'll know it. This is the perspective of someone who grew up on a border town.
