This is disheartening... this means that my husband will never be able to live with us. My children will grow up without their father, and for some reason, Canadians are OK with Canadian children growing up in a broken home. It's going to take 35 months, for my husband to be able to immigrate to this country. That's 2 1/2 year that my kids won't have a dad, our son especially is suffering. He has a serious disease, is often hospitalized, and I'm a married woman living as a single mother. Now I'll need to rely on the government for more financial support, and my 6 year old is actually depressed because his dad is years away from being with him. I work full time, have a great home, and a side business. But now I'll need to depend on meds and disability support to take care of my child, when he has an ablebodied father that can support us, especially when our child is in one of his regular hospitalization. You all are cruel.

The process is not the same as it was in the 80s when they did not require renewal every couple yrs w high $ and rules to return to home country for a set amount of time risking losing your home/job/business etc. Some renewal process for green cards have sped up but still takes 6-1yr and a new green card renewal and new one for Mexico can take 1-3yrs for approval. So someone that’s been here +20yrs will have to leave everything they have built here to go wait quite a long time. Its not if you agree how they got here, its what they have done in our country since being here. There are majorly two types of ' outsiders ' that the government takes in : students and asylum seekers. Seen purely from financial viewpoint, homing and providing for the latter group makes no sense at all. They are a permanent leakage of funds without return..\nRegarding students, there are the undergrads who pay 5X times the Canadian students and they are the shock absorbers for fee burden on Canadian students. This category is precious, especially those studying in reputed colleges. Then there's the student who comes for post graduation studies, doesn't pay as much a undergrad but still a valuable resource. Then there's the diploma students who make studies as an excuse to get into the UberEATS, mcdo kind of Job market. Cap on them may be needed to protect Canadian interests. However the last category comes mainly from one province in India who has political clout in Canada, so it is the hardest to curb. Without making this distinction, if the government is going to lump all categories of students as one, then they are throwing the baby with the bathwater.\nIn any case, the person who gets the best of both worlds is the Chinese-Canadian

Thanks for sharing, I believe the immigration system here before granting visas should test every newcomer’s understanding of rules and Canadian culture along with all existing requirements. And the consequences for breaking some of the basic rules must be severe so that no one breaks them in first place. This all started last time Trudeau visited India, Trudeau did not count on India doing a drug search of his plain because he thought he had diplomatic immunity when he landed . He did not count on India walking drug sniffing dogs through his plain .They found drugs on the plain so Trudeau tried to influence the Indian government not to say anything about the drugs .India did as Trudeau wished but held the plain there for some time before releasing it so Trudeau could fly home. Trudeau lied and said the plain needed parts as it could not return him home right away . Please when you mention international students just rephrase it to international Indian students because they are the only ones protesting. They need to go back to their country. I'm leaving for the DR Congo in six months (March 2025). I will be there for two to three weeks (depending on the job) and home situation. To be honest, I need to make some changes in my life, but this is one way for me to see what options are out there beyond Canada. My trip to Africa will be the first litmus test.

$200/ month for health ins is a lot. $2400/ yr. or $24,000/ 10 yrs. That is the amount just to be insured for ONE family member. It doesn't include copays when you do have to visit a doctor or need medication. Then what happens if your plan doesn't give you enough coverage or ANY coverage for a new illness or what is considered to be a pre-existing condition?! Cdns could very well pay this in taxes, but the taxes pay for a lot more of what is needed to have a functioning society. Americans pay these amounts plus taxes. YIKES!!

I do get upset at a long wait at the hospital and needs improvement but, then convince myself am getting free service. In US if you don’t have insurance one would pay about US$20,000:- that's my understanding. While in Canada it’s free and so are x-rays, knees surgery etc. I didn’t mind paying taxes as would be taken care of medically when needed.

Indians should be banned from every First world country. They are inconsiderate, don't care about any one else's culture, less a mess everywhere they go, fish illegally, drive wages down substantially, take up housing that citizens really need.... Wow the entitlement is mind-boggling. If that is the attitude that people have coming here on a temporary Visa. 33 years ago I had a temporary work reason to work in the UK I worked six days a week paid rent paid bills and we built a business that hired other people and put money back into the economy. I can’t imagine being out in the streets protesting it to the UK government that I haven’t been pretty to the privileges of people that were born and bred in the country and were there before me in Ontario we definitely do not have housing available. The cost of housing for a room is $1000 a month outside of the city, basement apartment is 2000 and Condo, one bedroom and den is about 3000. I’m not sure what jobs students are expecting when employment is not at all-time high and the healthcare system is already strained and failing people that need vital surgeries. Seniors are waiting three months for an MRI and students that were born here are having trouble finding employment because entry jobs are given to immigrants we are approaching UK and Ireland crisis levels, it’s not about racism. We don’t have the infrastructure.

I almost can't name one thing that is actually good about Canada that you can't find in another country? Or you can't get better in another country?. You have more rights and freedom in China. Then you do in Canada and people really need to understand that.

I can tell you one of the major reasons. It is the fact that these immigrants from India do not want to assimilate into Canada. Instead they bring their ways with them into Canada and some of those “ways”, are not acceptable in Canada. One example of that is the whole using the bathroom on the beach. But one that hits hard for me is the insane amount of immigrants that are harvesting spawning salmon with nets, without any of the properly paperwork that is needed to fish salmon with a rod. Using a net is illegal, I know they know it because when I catch them doing this. They become quiet and all of a sudden, after hearing them just speaking English, they pretend they do not know English… I can tell you this is all true. The other thing I have seen with my eyes is shop lifting from the local grocery store. I have never seen that before, not ever in all my years living here. It would be somewhat different if they were stealing essential items and essential foods. But they are not doing that, they are stealing all the luxury items. I am a white Canadian and I am proud of it, but guess what. I am also proud of the fact that I have a doctor that came from India and his family is thriving here. It makes me proud that he chose our country try to come to, with his educational background, it also makes me proud that he and his family have taken the time to try and assimilate into our culture. When I say assimilate by the way, I do not want them or and immigrant to completely abandon their cultures, I just would prefer it if they assimilate to the point where we can have a healthy community instead of all these separate cultural areas in our towns and cities. The other thing I have to add is that the word racism is thrown around too much and too easily in our current woke cultural climate here in Canada and this is just making the immigration issues worse because it produces a culture of fear for those Canadians that would like to help educate those immigrants that need help. But they do not do so because they are afraid of being labeled a racist or some other word and having their livelihoods and overall lives ruined. I am in a position in life where I do not care if people want to say such things about me. I am also well educated and in the position to come up with well articulated arguments in my defence. My main issue with immigration that bothers me more than the rest not only affects us Canadians but also affects the immigrants as well. Ok so before mass immigration was a thing here in Canada our healthcare system that we all used to be extremely proud of the as showing too many cracks and we knew it was falling apart. You think the government would place more funding into the healthcare system. Well that has not happened and if anything they have taken more funds away from our healthcare system than any other time in our country’s history. So before the mass immigration begun we had a major issue with having way too many patients and not enough medical staff to adequately treat everyone in a timely and healthy manner. So now think about that, the healthcare system was already stressed with the current population before mass immigration. How do you think adding waves and waves of more people every year via mass immigration is affecting that system? The answer is this… if the system was stressed beforehand, it is collapsing now. I am one of the lucky few that has a family doctor right now. It takes three months the just for me to see her… If I have an emergency and have to call 911, the ambulance will take me up to the local ER and then I will be wheeled out to the waiting room, which defeats the purpose of me calling 911 for a ambulance. I have waited two days at the local ER just to see a doctor. So here is where it affects the immigrants coming in. If a Canadian that was here before you is already having major issues with the healthcare, then I can only imagine how hard it will be for a new citizen to our country, nuff said really… the local er near me had a person die in the waiting room this past January. Add to this fact that I am actually pretty sick at the moment and so are my parents and you can understand why I am upset about our failing healthcare system. The politicians do not have to worry about our such issues though because they can afford to pay to go outside of Canada and pay cold hard cash for medical treatment. That is why they do not mind removing funds from our healthcare system, it will not affect them and they get to line their pockets with more of our tax money… I honestly place most of the blame for what is going on right now on Trudeau’s government and not the immigrants. The immigrants could help make this crappy situation a lot better for both of our parties though if they tried a little harder to adapt to our ways of life here. When in Canada try to live like a Canadian, I do not think that is asking much. Again, as for racism, I believe in judging a person by their actions and not by the colour of their skin. Racism is such an antiquated way of thinking… Our skin colours maybe different, just like our cultural backgrounds, but after all is said and done we are all members of the human race. Here in middle east, One of our helper in my work place is indian, i feel pity on him cuz his company taking advantage of him. He cant read, and write or even understand English, they hire him as cleaner sometimes hes coming to work without shoes or sometimes no food for lunch. Working 14hrs a day, salary is less and most of the time salart is late for months. My question is why?? Why do u need to go abroad with this situation.

Immigration is fine, but need to be a bit more selective though. It appears as there is only one country that is supplying immigrants to Canada currently, India. Which is not fair to anybody as it defeats multiculturalism. Why there is only one race dominating? So many Indians everywhere. \n\nBring migrant from all over the world instead, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, why just India. Something is not right.

Germany needed foreign talent for a veery long time but it is unwelcoming. At the end they are loosing against the competition. What a shame! They were way ahead. Also Germany is loosing its own talent to other countries due to better opportunities. All ads up to Germany lagging behind. One result is VW closing its factories and German workers are crying.

I'll tell you about prices in Canada. (please fact check me fellow Canadians, I wrote this in a rage. Also, most of this is from Ontario cause I live there) The monopolies here are insane. Highways that were built using tax payer money were sold to companies and now Canadians need to pay to us it. Most grocery stores are owned by a few major companies and I see butter prices rising every few months. A 1L carton of cream at my local store is $8! I won't talk too much about housing cause it's obviously sh**. I will say a couple of years ago the Premier of Ontario, Doug Ford (my greatest enemy), was releasing the protection of the green belt, a protect part of Ontario used for agriculture. He said he would use it to build new homes, great right? NOPE. First of all, the green belt is used for food to reduce prices for Canadians cause its local. He has stated he would move it to another location but that land there is less fertile. The worst thing is, the reason he is saying he would use the green belt to build houses is because the land there is very valuable. And guess who owns that land? His BUDDIES! That means he would sell that land to developers and his buddies would get all the profit cause the money developers use to buy the land will directly be put on the buyer. Not to mention, Doug Ford, the same person, since his instatement as premier, has cut the Ontario education budget by 50%. 50%!!!! ABSOLUTELY UNREAL. Can't even afford air conditioning in schools where the weather is so extreme. Rogers? The largest internet provider in Canada? Absolutely cr*p. So many complaints about bad connection and cutoffs which I also experienced when my mom bought one of their products and my internet was sh** for a couple of months. The ONLY, and I mean only, good major thing Trudeau has done is legalize marijuana. Another thing I forgot to mention is that our government is made up of criminals. Doug Ford, he and his family use to partake in drug dealing. Another major complaint is the ttc which is public transportation costing so damn much! As a student, it costs me over $1000 a year to get to school using the ttc. The times aren't even that great either as even on a major road, I had to wait 25 minutes to get a bus. Thats my rant.

The foreign students are victims of the agencies immigration and the schools because they need money but theirs no assurance in Canada that's the truth I'm from the Phil too one of the victim stop all the foreign students that the parents they're suffering from the debt turn it back to the Phil.

If only one or two races are complaining about Indians, you could say it's racism but if all other races complain on Indians, Indians need a wake up call.
