Controled and properly veted immigration is important to any country. Irresponsible open border policies are harmful to the fabric of the nation. Accept immigrants on our terms, not theirs.

I’m a Canadian nurse and I lived in the US for 10 years during my career. I did it when I was young to gain work experience and travel with friends. It gave me a lot of insight in how it feels to live in both countries. I’ve been a nurse and patient in both counties so I also know how it feels to work, live and be a resident in both. \n\nI cannot articulate enough how it has confirmed to me how fortunate I am to be Canadian. The perks to living in the US were very superficial and frivolous things that matter very little in the broad scheme of things,….which I see as more restaurant chains, cheaper restaurant food, more shopping options, etc. As a young person when I lived there,…those things seemed amazing but matter far less as I get older. \n\nWhen I lived there, I paid a fraction of the income taxes that I paid in Canada but it’s only short term gain for long term pain. The cost of health care, the amounts of gov funded benefits (disability, EI, pension, etc) in the US makes it well worth paying taxes to offset these things as in Canada. I have had cancer 3 times in 5 years and I’ve not paid a cent for treatment, scans, surgery, etc in Canada. My employer held my job for 2 years and I received long term disability of 70% of my yearly wages and my employer paid my full pension and benefits as I was off of work. After 2 years, my cancer returned and was deemed incurable so I will continue to receive this pay and benefits until I’m 65 and can retire as I can no longer work. I have no financial worries as I battle cancer. \n\nTo contrast,…my US employer was a world reknowned hospital that had excellent pay and benefits. Had I been working there when I was diagnosed with cancer, I would only have gotten full pay for 6 weeks until my sick time and vacation time was used up. Then I was eligible for a fraction of my income for 3 months, which would not be enough to live on. I would not have had my pension paid. After that, I’d receive no more pay and my employer would hold my job without pay for 6 months and then I’d be let go. My cancer required nearly 2 years off of work so after 5 months of this minimal pay, I’d have no income, no job and no benefits with a new pre existing condition to ensure that I’d have a snowballs chance in hell of getting future coverage. Meanwhile during that 5 months of some pay, I’d still need to pay huge costs of treatment despite having insurance but that would disappear after I was let go from my job. I’d have to return to work during my treatment just to afford to continue it. I have many US friends that had a similar cancer that worked throughout to cover basic cancer care while I was able to recuperate without working or fearing being unable to pay. There is nothing comparable to this when you are sick. It is everything!\n\nSadly, many of my American friends are very ill informed on how health care works in other countries and don’t see the shortcomings in their own. Ironically though, they are willing to argue it without proper information so I often find that bizarre. While lived there I felt as though I was in a bubble where the only news that I saw was US news. I saw no info or minimal about Canada in my whole time there,…aside from falsehoods about health care to scare people away from seeking change. “Canadians are all dying while waiting”, “they are all coming to the US for care”, “they pay 80% income tax” etc. All propaganda,…some from politicians or those that should know better. It was truthfully mind boggling to me how educated people could know so little about the world. It almost felt as though they heard so much propaganda about how terrible other places were while only having knowledge of the US, that it ensured that things would stay the same without anyone wanting beneficial changes to dysfunctional policies (like health care, cost of meds, lack of gun regulations, etc). I agree, the high prices of daily spendings on food and groceries is due to lack of competition.\n\nI realised this even in Europe ,particularly France. There is absolutely no logic behind those high prices of daily items in France when people can easily move to warmer climates, live in world class modern cities like Singapore or some city in China or those in South East Asia and spend much, much less on those without compromising on real quality.\n\nWhat i mean by real quality is maintenance of quality which ensures proper sampling and testing of those items are conducted regularly and proper rules are followed in production and business and consumers are protected from health hazards and sabotage. I think most of the rest are just unnecessary decorations in name of maintenance of quality. That is wrong on so many fronts , biggest is on business ethics and it hammers on any kind of Christian value which i know of.\n\nOligarchy or monopoly is a major problem i feel. What Canada NEEDS is AFFORDABLE Housing for the working poor, OW, ODSP and get the homeless who want housing.\n\nAll Pubic Colleges and Universities should be AUTOMATICALLY adding a housing cost for International Students. This way these foreigners aren't creating housing problems for the local community. So Colleges and Universities should be buying property within REASONABLE DISTANCE from their Campuses that are only for CURRENT STUDENTS actually taking classes. \n\nThe Government needs to be RESPONSIBLE for LOW INCOME housing. More people are finding themselves unable to take care of themselves. As soon as you land in Canada, get your information straight. Know why you are here, where you will be staying and for how long. Do not approach the border officers with fear or panic as this video is trying to make you feel.Canada doesn’t just set people aside for deportation at the airport. Once you land in Canada you are protected by Canadian law and international law on immigrants . A visa officer will not warn you of overstaying your visa (if you overstay you won’t be granted visa next time) no officer will tell you that. That’s not their job. People can be set aside for proper screening or scrutiny but that doesn’t mean they are being set aside for deportation. Deportation has a procedure and it’s a costly process even for the Canadian government.These are assumptions. You are exaggerating! Don’t be afraid people, Canada is a beautiful and welcoming country. Information on your application has to match information you give in your questioning. If they don’t match then suspicion is aroused.Even if it doesn’t , they are so many explanations you can give as to why ( stress, airsick,tired, confused ,hungry cus of the long flight) officers will give you time to cool off and come to you later. If it gets to the worst, invoke your rights as an international immigrant and ask for entry to Canada being a safe country as a refugee claimant . You pass by my old apartment in this video. I literally had to leave Brampton because im disabled and worked in mississauga and could no longer take the bus anymore because of the influx of students. The buses would literally drive right by you if you had a stroller or mobility aid because there's no way for people to navigate on the bus. Theyre so overcrowded, i imagine theyre running at over max capacity. I would watch elderly people who were even more disabled than myself get on the bus and the international students who were sitting in the disabled seatinv would look up at them and then back down at their phones. I would be yelling at them to give up their seats for other people while i stood on the bus leaning on a cane. They litterally do not care about anyone but themselves. And no matter how many times i complained to Brampton transit about disabled people not being able to properly use their services anymore, nothing came of it

This was an extremely horrible accident, in terms of this ruling key word accident, caused partly by a system that does not accredit new truck drivers properly, or maintain safe roads properly. I support those parents of the victims that support Mr Sidhu. Accidents will happen, yes Mr Sidhu must be accountable but tragedies will continue to happen if agencies meant to keep the public safe are negligent, they must construct proper intersections and monitor and enforce proper training and licensing for professional drivers. Now it costs 10000 dollars to get a class one drivers license in Alberta. If they just enforced the law to begin with there would not have been an issue. The guy was not trained properly and there are lots more not trained properly. Now there is not enough truck drivers which costs us more for goods. I knew the university I went to would not be able to say no to me when I applied to get into this program. Today, the families have been divided, people do not connect or communicate properly and I have to question what living skills did I learn? Instead, my head was filled with propaganda which sadly, I've had to relearn. I say, stay in your own country and fix it there. Indian has some wonder ancient wisdoms for healing and health. If you are not a citizen. You do not have the civil rights achieved by becoming a citizen. You don’t have the right to citizenship if you came to Canada with a work visa or a student visa! They didn’t immigrate through proper channels. (Although those channels are corrupted anyway)

If I go to a foreign country to school on a temporary visa I have to go home when that is done. They have no right to protest anything our government decides . Nope pack up their stuff and send them home. If they want to emigrate they can then apply and go through proper channels for that purpose.
