She conveniently missed mentioning the real reasons why visa applications of Indians get rejected -\n1) Thousands of Indians go on tourists visas only to 'disappear' and never return. It doesn't just happen in Canada, US, UK, Aus but also welcoming countries like Thailand, UAE.\n2) Indian Visa (to visit India) itself is one of the most expensive and complicated to get for foreigners, so other countries have no incentive to make it easier for Indian citizens.\n3) Developed countries know that if they make it 'easier' for Indians to travel to their country, they will end up with tens of thousands who wont want to go back to India. It is already the case when its difficult to get a visa, imagine the situation if its made easier.\n4) Most of the Indian tourists fall under the mass category, they are not like the heavy spending Chinese tourists. We are not the most well behaved, so till we start getting more affluent, we wont be in as much demand.

As an Indian citizen, I can clearly understand why do visas are rejected. If you give visit visa they will disappear in that country and live there.

The New Zealand Government has looked at problems with certain countries that have an issue with fake documentation, multi identity documentation, failure to attend educational Institutions as a foreign student, false partnership and marriage application. Also the vulnerable class 4 and 5 Accredited Employers Work Visa holders that have been scammed by employers or agents that do not pay wages, provide set hours, lie about providing accommodation etc.. A large percentage of these problems arise from inside these communities. That is for example a Chinese or Indian businesses owner that is a New Zealand Permanent Resident or Citizen sponsoring a Worker from either country and exploiting them.

There’s more pride and nationalism projected in this video than real facts. Why do Indians need visas? It’s very simple: Most Indians are more likely to figure out a way to stay abroad once they touchdown abroad. \n\nAmericans, Canadians, Europeans, etc, don’t need visas wherever they go because most of them always return to their countries eventually no matter where they visit and how long they’re away. \n\nCitizens who don’t need visas wherever they go hardly ever leave their own countries for another. It’s really very simple. Just look at Singapore, Switzerland, etc. How often do you see their citizens leave such countries for another? Almost never. That’s why.\n\nIt sounds like she’s trying to make an argument that this rule shouldn’t apply to Indians because India’s economy is powerful. You need to convince this fact to the Indians who are leaving India, because if you can’t even sell this point to those Indians leaving India, then you don’t even have a case.

The problem with the way things have become here is that now people that have immigrated legally to Canada and are citizens are now becoming targets of hate and violence. I agree that once the visa is expired people need to go and honor what they signed for. We are also punishing those people who have done nothing wrong. This is really scary to see in our country. Hold government accountable for what they have done and ourselves accountable for who we elect and how we treat other human beings. We are all humans no matter skin color or where we are born so be kind to each other. First of all why there is craziness to visit abroad. Let western nations come and beg for indian visas. We have everything in our mother land. In Asia they would be shot. Thats why I have so much respect for those countries. Illegal activity that puts their citizens or their well being at risk will not be tolerated. Indian should go to finishing school. They should rebuild there educational system so the youth shouldn’t go out of country for education. They should create jobs and opportunities so youth is not frustrated and don’t have go to other western countries and treated like a second class citizens. Have pride for heavens sake.

It’s not fair! If a person comes to America legally on a student or marriage visa, their parents have to pay everything to bring them here, and those individuals cannot receive government assistance for five years. However, if someone comes here illegally, they are given free housing, cars, money, healthcare, food stamps, and other benefits. We need those resources for our own citizens, as our country is already struggling. If you can’t come legally, please stay in your country.

Have you seen the stupid visa forms for entering India for European citizens? \nStop cribbing when you are making it complicated for Europeans to get a visa.\nAlso, even countries like Thailand do not want Indian tour because of the disgusting behaviour many Indian tourists bringing a bad to name to all Indians.

South Africans have had to comply with these requirements for years. Letter of invitation for your stay. \nProof of residence in host country.\nProof of financial means to support yourself whilst there.\nQuality medical insurance in case of emergency. \nReturn flight ticket. \nMedical clearance for TB, HIV, STD's etc etc\nProof of employment in your home country.\nProof that you will return home. \nSubmit all that, and probably a few things I've forgotten. \nBTW, my hubby is a UK citizen, and we've been married for years, and I would still need to apply and comply!\nNo country owes anyone right of access, and if it threatens them in any way, they have the right to decline the application!

We Indians must agree that India is a $hithole country. There is a high chance of visa rejection because applicants might not return after entering and could stay illegally. Nowadays, many Nepali citizens stay in other countries illegally, which has resulted in our passport ranking very low on the global index.

Unfortunately, there has to be some criteria by which each country has to make a judgement. I do not understand why she is cribbing here. There is this guy who keeps going on international trips and everyone in India for gaga over the importance he brings to India through those trips. What happened? Not working? India should stop e-visas for govt employees of countries like the US. Any US citizen who or whose immediate family member is a US govt employee should be asked to queue up at an Indian consulate and given an appointment after 1 year. They should be asked to submit various sorts of documents, submit their passport, wait for 45 days after which depending on the mood of the officer at the consulate, a sticker visa could be issued. This policy should be for OCIs who take up govt job as well.\n\nPS: Egypt had removed Canada from their visa on arrival list after canada began arbitrarily rejecting egyptian visa applications. Ma'am, when a country makes it harder for citizens of a particular country to enter their country, it is often because of the number of recorded incidents, crime from people from said country. If there is a higher rate compared to people from other countries, then it becomes harder. Let's be honest here... Indians don't have a good reputation abroad when it comes to such things... I'm half Nigerians and at least many Nigerians acknowledge why lately, it is harder for Nigerians to get a visa (Obv crime as well.) Has nothing to do with discrimination. Also, look at the state of Canada. Nigeria and India need to focus on bettering their citizens so that less people go abroad, which also reduces the chance of certain people doing crime, to avoid making it harder for honest people from the same country to get a visa. I live in Canada. A citizen now, love this country but India is and will always be a home. Canada is facing hard times currently, which is being faced by every country now and then but even the cause root of all these problems Canada is facing right now is coming from somehow from India. The most disruptive and disturbing people are here from India only with no civic sense. They come here and do not value the Canadian culture at all. They do all sort of illegal activities and try to do jugaad in everything, from which we escaped from India. Even on political grounds, the man who somehow messed up everything was under the influence and pressure of the man having Indian roots. A passport's ranking depends on how many countries its holder can visit visa-free and how many offer a visa on arrival. To boost India's ranking, the foreign mission could focus on increasing the number of countries Indian citizens can travel to without needing a visa.

No one is targeting anyone without reason. While there are many reasons for visa refusals, let's not ignore two major issues you are not mentioning: document forgery and overstaying visas. Unfortunately, these problems are common among citizens from your country.

It is about demand/supply, per capita income, general level of education/behavior, and past experience with visitors - especially the risk of undocumented immigrants. Indians are too keen to visit other countries - but those countries do not view this as a good thing in terms of cost/benefit. 5th largest economy holds much less water than a mid-level per capita income - when we are talking about individual citizens.

How many of them are going to visit and return home. Let's be clear. And other countries need their citizens to have job. Indians are smart people to solve this problem they should make india great again like china.

All the government in every country should do more for their people so that their citizens wouldn't want to leave.

Indian passport can travel everywhere.. but to get employment and other visa in the foreign country is another thing. Every country wants to put their own citizens FIRST priority!

Maybe as we all Indians know all too well, many of our fellow citizens travel to other countries like in the West & stay they illegally - often working in their black economy. Even if caught, they destroy or hide their passports to conceal their origins & even if proven they are to be Indian, the Indian gov't refuses to take them back without their passport & other I.D documents.
