Canadians complain because they've only seen good throughout their lives. I, as an immigrant, appreciate everything this country has given me and truly love Canada from the bottom of my heart. Travelling to a country and living + working in the same country are 2 very different experiences. My friends, family, and colleagues based in the UK, Spain, US, Australia, and Dubai all have been complaining about things very similar to what you're complaining about. Even Latinos with legal status (the denaturalization clause) can be deported if they find they lied on their application, to enter, or who poses a threat to American democracy, (which the Supreme Court said could be interpreted in many different ways), or who entered the country and became legal, but whose life was not in any danger to where they needed assylum

If they were viable options for legal immigration particularly for people of color, the US border would look very different

With the mandate Trump was given and control of congress he should push to repeal the Cuban Adjustment Act. Cuba shouldn't have a treatment different to any other country.

Remain in Mexico applies to arriving aliens applying for asylum, not asylum seekers who have already been admitted. The latter contravenes federal immigration law, and that's something that a President can't do via executive order. As well, if we deport asylum seekers to a different country, or make asylum seekers wait in another country as their asylum cases are adjudicated, the US government is STILL responsible for providing essential resources and ensuring their safety (this includes providing migrant centers) and the US cannot impede on their right to counsel - and by virtue of making them stay in another country that doesn't HAVE US immigration attorneys, this DOES impede their access to legal council, which is an immediate infringement on civil rights and a key reason why Remain in Mexico was challenged up to the Supreme Court and was kept from fully going into effect.

I grew up in Saskatchewan and it was NOT illegal for people other than law enforcement and military to own guns. Healthcare is far more complicated in the United States. Yes, every province in Canada may have slightly different rules, but every insurance company and every plan within every insurance company has different rules. And your options for insurance can suddenly change dramatically if your company decides to use a different insurance carrier or you change employers.
