I've been here from August 26th. I live in Saskatoon. Found a job in 8 days, I didn't have a career back home, except for being a mechanic, saftey guy and 2 more diplomas. I started from ground up working at grocery shop, paid the bills, smoked that good weed, can video call my family everyday, hanging out with the boys and chilling. \n\nBut I understand how most people who had a career back in their home is having trouble getting the exact one here. My roommate did software engineering stuff back home and he works with me. \n\nAlso Canadians have been really great with me. I had made some friends.\nAlso I'm 27, so I have time and I understand where he's coming from

Ah, the USA, the land of freedom... freedom to get bent over by the system.\nBtw, police are armed in Canada too. The difference is it takes longer in Canada than in most States to become a police officer, and most act and present like professionals. They are also not seen everywhere, just the occasional police cruiser. When you see a lot of police here, the feeling it gives is that they are needed, which means there is trouble.

Despite the differences in opinion, we are example to the world. Whenever one of us has trouble, the other comes running (the Canadian Caper in Iran, the people of Gander NF during 9/11) The Americans are ofren the FIRST to help others! I don't know where you got the idea that anyone in the US can just buy a gun at Walmart and carry it around. Purchasing a gun requires passing a background check, and there are many questions on the forms you'll need to submit which will bar you from owning one. Being less than truthful when filling out such a form can result in a prison sentence. Carrying a gun on your person requires a special concealed weapons permit, which is only issued after a thorough FBI background check. Even the slightest hint of trouble in your background will get you denied. You can of course purchase guns illegally, but you can do that in Canada as well.

Just one request to all, don't think they are Sikh and represent all Sikhs. They are not even .05% of Sikh community. I hope Sikhs around the world are not troubled due to these radicles. Over the past 25 years and in numerous directions, Toronto has slowly been losing professional integrity. This is but one reason why the city is running into long-term trouble. People are no longer looking at the big picture, but are acting more to secure self-interests over others.

So how are these asylum seekers come? Do they come from the country that they are looking for asylum and they are denied shelter? Then the trouble is how this claimants are processed, there should be a way to firm up the needed resources or simply there's no room in Canada. If what they are doing is coming to the country and once at the port of entry they claim for asylum we need to take a serious look at how lenient we are in accepting just anyone who comes by automatically granting asylum. That should stop. There should be no illegal immigrants in Canada. Those who are here illegally should be sent back. There is enough trouble now to handle this. Maybe in the future, not now.

I’m born & raised in Montreal, Quebec and while it’s extremely multicultural and has an incredible education system, we have been experiencing a continuous housing crisis. Every year the rent prices and general cost of living are skyrocketing yet wages remain the same. It’s actually becoming a huge problem in Montreal. Young people are being pushed out as prices are starting to little by little be comparable to Toronto. \nAnd don’t get me started on the hate Anglophones receive here. Even Montreal natives like myself who are historically English get discriminated against every day. \nThe Quebec government is pushing the English language out of Quebec, making it harder and harder for Anglophones to be able to function and live practically here. You can’t even go to the hospital and get service. If you don’t speak French you can’t call and speak with any government services, and even businesses are forced to have French names, and only conduct their business in the French language. \nI myself am bilingual, but for someone who doesn’t speak the language, or is learning having trouble it’s nearly impossible to live in Quebec as they wouldn’t even be able to get a job. The discrimination Anglophones receive is insane and we are seen as a ‘bottom of the barrel’ minority, which is so sad seeing that this is where I was born and raised and where I call my home. \nThey’re taking away more and more public & social services and literally funnelling multi millions of dollars of funding , which is desperately needed for homelessness and many other social problems we have within Montreal and it’s all now going towards pushing the French language in Montreal (we literally have what’s called the ‘language police’ who’s job is to enforce French. They will give businesses thousands of dollars of tickets and even shut them down all because someone is caught speaking English) \nHopefully something will change soon or else Montreal is going to continue to become a place completely taken over by hate and discrimination and it will experience a MASS exodus (which is already starting).

Forgot to mention that it may be challenging raising the kids since it’s no longer education being taught but political correctness and white liberal theology masked as sympathetic political jargon meant to shield you from the fact that all Canadians are being turned into tax slaves by narcissistic sociopaths who believe they are saving the masses. You should also not contradict their views with your cultural or religious upbringing since this could get you in trouble with your job or who knows what else. Life here is becoming tough for ALL not just immigrants and those in charge are doing it purposely thinking it’s a good thing.

Maybe we are the ones that need a heart check❤ there are things that people have had to go through to be in this country for a normal life like floating on a raft for over a week or walking through 100° desert ? mountainous, terrain with children, risking their lives, or having to cross tumultuous rivers, Some will never know the hardships and the desperation, that others have had to endure in this life just for a hope of the better tomorrow less the sorrow ?❤ we take things for granted in this country not realizing that we truly are the Promised Land that everyone is seeking ❤

OMG, what loving God would agree with that ? \nAs for the progress that black people have made .. it’s all being striped away in plain sight b/c most of the states are Republican run … \nMost of the U.S. is SO far away - the pendulum has swung so far away from the Centre (CDN. So ?) that there isn’t a centre anymore. … people from both sides compromising, agreeing to possibly disagree but come to agreement as best they can .. I’m empathetic but we can’t take in others when most Americans can barely keep a roof over our heads/find housing. No. 1 rule when the plane is in trouble, ensure your mask is on and you have air before you attempt to help anyone else. Right now Americans are being tossed about the cabin on a dumpster fire of a plane in the dark trying to find a mask of our own just for a breath of fresh air. We can’t help others, when we ourselves need help.

I feel like we have not even started to hit the major trouble yet. I am not sure how people will be able to handle the massive mortgage increases, pay massive rent increases and afford crazy prices for needs like groceries. All this on top of bringing in record numbers of newcomers.

Lemme skip to the end and take a guess as to what's actually happening.\n\nIndians go to Canada first so they can get to their final destination, America, faster. Once they're Canadian citizens, they can apply for US green card and travel easily to America in the meantime. They can work and bide their time in Canada while working in America only having to return to Canada every six months or so instead of back to India.\nBottom line:\nEvery foreigner who goes through the trouble to become a US citizen (clearly worth all that trouble) should be absolutely against ALL illegal immigrants who just walk across the southern border and demand to stay.

But the average American family is twice as big as in Canafa, so they don't need as many immigrants to support their troubled old age security system. When you look at demographics, the picture is optimistic for America compared to most of the world.

All I can say as a Canadian is why would anyone want to move to the USA.The more I learn the more I love where I live the USA is a hot mess and watching the kind of people that you elect is mind boggling . People travel with different mood swings and mindsets. Also with loss, emergency, fear and sitting for a long time in discomfort, and traveling with strangers next to them like that... Adding fuel to the fire someone (a child) kicking them from the back seat is too much. Parents should take responsibility to help their children learn to sit properly on the flight without creating any trouble for the co-passengers.

one of my friends same way came to Canada from Newzealand, and now he went back, the same way another friend from Germany came on PR and went back to India due to he got good opportunity, I was a software project manager in India and my wife was a professor in engineering college having a degree of Ph.D. in computer science but facing trouble to get right job in Newfound land. so we met so many PR newcomers in last 6 months and herd same story like us so moral of the story for others is ,please be aware about expenses , cost of living and hidden costs .

If a person had choose a safer place to live, doesn't it means that country is in trouble? Not saying we in Canada does not have our problems with a porous borders, recently we too have some gun violence.

I remember a scottish lad in america got into trouble for wearing a dirk (scotland knife) to prom or other function. Wanted to wear the full get up and got slammed by the school for the knife.

I never want to move down in United States first of all they don't have free healthcare they don't have free medication while some medication and their food does not taste like ours I've tried their Pizza Hut that I found was totally disgusting they're McDonald's was totally different also lots of flies in this in the restaurant around where they make the hamburgers and that they're washing very filthy women's washroom overpopulated and you never know when you're walking on the street when you're going to get killed by a gun at least where I live it's a slower pace it's starting to become crazy with the homeless and people that like to make trouble but they're still not that much guns because we don't allow it it's more safe we can still walk on the streets without anything happening happening even at night where I live it's a slower pace the air quality is also better it's not muggy as much as the states a lot of places people here are more friendly but just like it here I was born here

I've worked with a lot of people who have moved to the US for work. It's a very compatible place for Canadians to go. The culture is very similar. People move for work pretty seamlessly. I lot of older canadians go to the southern US for 6 months a year for the weather but maintain their canadian citizenship for he medical coverage. \n\nThe COVID mess where twice as many US citizens per capita died compared to Canadians was a bit of a downer. Watching how poorly the political system seems to be to deal with all the real world problems that are out there. \n\nThat 73,000,000 voted for a self admitted scammster and criminal for President is troubling. \n\nThe Gun mess also tends to chase people off. \n\nThe American people seem to be desperate to maintain their freedom to kill each other. I'm not interested in that freedom

The problem with gun violence is that it CAN happen literally anywhere in the US. Anywhere, you can have an unhappy, marginalized teenager marinating in hatered who wants to leave this world with a statement. We have those in Canada as well. The difference is that in Canada, IF they can find a weapon, it will probably be a hunting riffle or something big, really hard to conceal and long to recharge. In the US, they can have a few pistols or a semiautomatic, which can be large but can cause a lot of damage in a short length of time. We had school shootings in Canada, but usually, by the time our troubled teenagers find a way to act on their impulse, someone find out. In the US, it can take just a few days, and the casualties are usually high.
