It's 100000000000× times easier to make real good money in advance economies like Canada or USA than it is in (third world) developing or undeveloped economies...and problems like inflation, shrinkflation, rising housing price etc. are a thousand times worse in third world countries..\nSo anyone from advance economies or developed countries who would blame immigrants for their money problems is just a lazy, pampered, privileged a**hole who lacks the understanding of the real world and a c*nt..full stop..

If it were up to me the USA would make citizenship even harder. We should cap it at 10,000 per year, you must have an extrordinary degree, and come with 500k in cash. Any crimes committed in the first five years and you'll be deported immediatly and any kids you had on US soil would be joining you. We cannot sell out the citizens already here just to keep up with the world economy and ever lasting profits. We need have compassion for those suffering on US streets and those who cannot afford homes.

In terms of average life expectancy, Canada ranks 6th in the world. The USA? 48th. [SOURCE: CIA World Factbook 2023] Why? Canada has universal health care, gun control, and a social ethos that works. The US has for-profit health care, ineffective gun control, and Trump. In Canada, cancer is treated as a disease. In the US? as a profit centre. Even so, most Canadians love most Americans as cousins and friends, and always will.

I am surprised that you are surprised about our concern about gun Violence! I don’t think people in USA consume news in the same way Canadians do. Or maybe you have just become numb to it. Because there have been over 400 mass shootings in your country SO FAR this year. It is widely considered to be one of the most unsafe countries in the world! It seems Americans are the only ones who don’t get it.

The problem lies in the fact that in the mainstream the issues are different and they are different for the secluded populations. For capitalists minded people, Canada is really not the country whose economy they can rely on. For the socialists, and reformers, there is a lot of potential in Canada but it also required a huge amount of resources to begin with anything. To be honest, Canada is a different kind of world, but it is better than USA in my opinion.

Children getting shot is not a “touchy subject.” It’s an insane problem. And yes, there are children shot daily! Dude, there is no where on the planet where there are children and humans shot on anywhere CLOSE to the scale that it happens in the US.\n\nAnyway, move to the States? Not on your life! I used to like some vacations there, but the current insane right-wing, fascist politics, anti-vax and anti-mask and anti-science entrenched attitudes, and MOSTLY the pervasive threat of gun violence and the manic love affair with guns — UGH - all mean I am not interested in even vacationing there. There is a sane world outside the USA.\n\nNor would I want to live inside such an inward-looking, self-absorbed “we are the centre of the world” culture that truly believes itself superior to all others in the world. The hubris and delusion are very off-putting. \n\nAnd to live in such a broken health care system? Where profits drive it all? Not on your life.\n\nOh, I couldn’t stand the hot weather that so many places have either. No thanks! I’ll take my coldest large city in the world (Winnipeg) any day. \n\nThere is nothing appealing about the prospect of living anywhere in the States, despite WONDERFUL vacations I’ve had there is past decades.

We have too much to worry about on our home front without this. ? these are people that will immediately sign up for benefits or commit crimes in lieu of manual labor jobs. We have the opioid crisis. The homeless crisis. CHILDREN that go hungry. In the USA ! I’m not describing a 3rd world country here! Like come on people! If the masses don’t start demanding and forcing change, this country is going to continue to wither and rot away until we are no longer the country we used to be. If we’re being honest we already aren’t but the longer it goes on the less salvageable we will become.

I question even travelling to the USA. Unsafe gun crazy. Rude af maga people to difference. Many think they are the be all end all. Loving their ignorance. \nNever moving. Ever.\nBut still amazing places… my favourite ‘near to travel to’ spots. In the past. Fingers crossed for better times ahead for the USA. Their economic and defence powerhouse standing in the world makes them a leader. But the politics, religious aggressiveness, etc… such a number of batsh!t crazy. Truth.

9:30 Actually, Tyler, many children are being shot on a daily basis in the USA, just maybe not in schools. America has over 100 times the numbers of guns deaths for children per capita than Canada. Also your mass shootings are so prevalent that they do not even make the top news in the US anymore, but the rest of the world sees it. I can't even think of the last time we in Canada had a mass school shooting. It does happen, very rarely, about once every 3-4 years, but it is mostly just one on one violence. I think it was 2006 when we last had a mass, indiscriminate shooting in a school.

I`m Canadian, and did move to the USA, then moved back to Canada. Americans are Taxed on every dollar they earn, most states have to pay Fed an State tax, Health Care cost is way to high, when they economy goods bad, it goes south really fast. America tax on avg 22%, Canada 15%, America state tax 5.75%, Canada 0%, America sales tax 7.4%, Canada 7% plus 5% GST, however you get the GST back when you file you`re taxes. The 1 thing I really like were the people, made some very good friends but, they are not very educated, most people don`t leave they`re state, because they can see the world on TV, so why travel, as I was told.

The USA is free while Canada is rapidly becoming a third world slave state. If you're enterprising, Canada's governments will crucify you. Move to one of the red states: Idaho, Texas, Florida. Avoid the Democrat states for sure. And get a gun. Live free or die.

As a truck driver that has been almost everywhere in the US and Canada I would agree that I would never live in the USA. I do vacation there on occasion, New York, Disney World. There is way too much violence, politics, racism and people are in to much of a hurry to be out front. Everyone seems to need to be number 1. Great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. Ironically I do spend about 8 to 10 days a month working there. I find the people on the west coast of the US friendlier than the east coast. It is the opposite in Canada, east coast friendlier than the west coast. Just my opinion and I have lived on both coasts in Canada.

I wish for a strong, unified, and prosperous USA. \nThe CCP, wants to take over the world. \nTheir propaganda and algorithms, do promote a breakdown, of western culture and institutions.

Never in a million years would I move to the USA. There is not enough money in the world to pay me to move there. I visited many times over many years and the answer is NO.

I'd like to make it clear that most Americans I've met are wonderful people. I'm a creative professional, I can see being tempted by a high paying gig, but several of the points raised here I agree with. I've got diabetes, and insulin prices alone would bankrupt me (that might have been fixed recently, but I have no idea whether that's been fixed by legislation). You mentioned it being safer in smaller towns, but was Columbine a big city? Uva!de Texas? Sandy Hook? Some of my favorite places in the world to visit are in the USA, but staying? Sorry, but not likely.

After comparing the following from country to country: Women's reproductive rights. LGBTQ acceptance. Health Care. Gun violence. Overt racism. Criminal misconduct of politicians. Cleanliness of cities. Infrastructure degradation. To name a few. I have to admit Canada is the better choice. We (Canada) are not perfect and have to still work on making our country better for all who live in Canada. I am a 72 year old male and to this day I thank my lucky stars that both sets of my grandparents immigrated to Canada and not the USA. I also know that I am very fortunate to have lived my entire life here in Canada. I have travelled to many places outside of Canada and have always been well received by the people of those countries and appreciate the good reputation we (Canadians) have around the world.

Each countries have their pros and cons. Yes guns and religions are a big turn off but in Canada we're not as free as in USA. \nHere, in Canada, i can't defend myself or my home, i have to way for the police to show up (and it take enough time for the cops to find a corps) if i do and do arm or kill the offenderl, i end up in jail which leaves Canadians with 2 choices. Either get killed or get in Jail. \nIn the last years i saw Canada going to a close to be socialists system and slowly going into a communist system which scare the shit out of me. I won't allow the governement to tell me where to work, where to live, when to bath or what to think. \nThen there's theses biggots who wonder why their church is not open 24/7 and believe earth is flat who claim everything that's not related to them is evil. Theses are the most stupid and dangerous people in the world because they're armed and fanatics. Sometimes you can almost think they'll start a new crusade 400 years after the grand inquisition. In Canada we kicked out theses priest and their BS out of our homes and pollitics for 60years now and that's one of the main reason why Canada is better. \nThen there's that millitary expense problem. We don't spend 2/3 of our incomes into a war machine then say there's no money. We don't bail our youth to FORCE them to do their millitary services. \nI wish i could have a gun to defend myself and it's a shame i can't do neither of thoses.

Not worth it. \n\n- It's a country where the number one cause of death for kids under 19 is mass shootings.\n- There is political and racial violence and threat of violence rampant everywhere\n- the USA has 60 times the number of active serial killers at any given time as the rest of the world COMBINED\n- Educational standards are abysmal in many states, particularly the red ones.\n- Hand in hand with that is a general air of ignorance that is impossible to ignore or live with\n- At least one third of the population is afflicted with a strong case of Dunning-Kruger effect, and elects only those most strongly afflicted...\n- People are still fighting for basic rights and still being vehemently opposed.\n- 35 million Americans have zero medical insurance, and another 80 million are under-insured, versus zero Canadians.\n- way more people possess guns than are mentally equipped to handle one.

Canada's standards of living are a lot higher than the US. USA's say they're no1 in a lot of things but Canada actually is the best place to live in the world. Not to mention the gun violence or the unhinged far right. You guys got waayyy too used to the mass school shootings. Its insane, sorry buddy. ;)

The usa is number one in gun deaths. Since 1953 103,000 service members have died during war. In the past 3 years over 150,000 civilians have died from guns in their own country. usa is a nightmare country to move to. Of the 30+ first world nations that have national healthcare usa isn’t on that list. How fucked up is that?

As a Canadian I’m sorry to say I’d pick most anywhere in the world over the USA.

I could see myself adapting to any part of the world. I love visiting the USA! Such a beautiful country, just like Canada. The food is outstanding and cheap! The people are friendly and outgoing! I would move there if I had a valid reason to. I'm happy living in Canada and satisfied just visiting various places across the US. It's always a treat!

I don't live in the mountains, but I don't deny they are there. Small towns are safe you say.....until easily accessed guns are used to kill so many kids, like in Uvalde . I have 6 kids, and not one cost me a cent when they were born. Don't get me wrong, I have been down through the usa many times, and met great people. Last year I was in Livingston Texas, at a gas station, and a guy beside me was carrying a handgun out in the open, filling his car while smoking.....I was not about to confront him, and just stopped getting gas and left. Also, I checked with 3 different generations in my family (educated in 2 different provinces) and each one reports that in grade school geography we all learned about each state, capitals and it's location in USA....and the other countries in the world. While you may not like the school shooting comment, as of data from 2020, the US child death rate by firearms was 5.8 / 100,000 population. Compared to the next country in the world (Canada at 0.8 deaths / 100,000). Also, the death by firearms is now the leading cause of death for children in the USA, more so then even motor vehicle deaths... which is absurd. Sorry but the USA has a serious gun problem, and more of them is not the solution. Btw, a proud Canadian here, who has travelled and worked extensively across the US. I def. would not live long-term in the US.

As a quebecoise, canadian french, I think we're still far from all problems in the USA. But we shouldn't forget that there are 300 millions more american people than us, canadians. The more we'll grow as population, the more problems of all kinds will follow. So no, i would never move to USA, it's a fact, but I think it's a little unfair to compare both countries. Plus, Canada tends to be more and more influenced by USA and their politics... And we're no safe anywhere in the world. There are not a lot of them, yet, but still, we've got also few mass violence shootings increasing for more than 10 years now. It exists here too. Nothing happens in a small village because we don't expect it to happen most of the times. But as beautiful as Canada may look, I can tell you it will never be the same again. My uncle moved to Texas when he married my Texan aunt, but I’m fairly certain that’s only because she has a medical condition that means she physically cannot endure the temperatures we get here in Canada in the winter months. She would have quite literally been housebound for a third of the year every year if she came up here.\n\nEdit: Also, Canada may have a smaller population than the US, but we actually have the second-largest total land mass out of all the countries in the world. Russia is the only country with more land.\n\nEdit 2: In 2022, there were a total of 51 school shootings. That’s more than 4 school shootings *per month.* Of course we don’t trust the USA to be a safe place for children. I would never move to the USA, no way. It’s unsafe and too racist compared to Canada??,by far. I was once asked by a American colleague why did I not immigrated to the USA, the answer is: it was not even in the list of possible countries. In fact it is on my top list of places not to move to. \n\nYou have a good insurance through your job? That only means you have one more reason to fear losing it or stay on a particularly bad one if you don’t have anything lined up, if you have a chronic health condition, then you are straight out hostage to your employer. Even if you do have good insurance your bills may one day go beyond the maximum and you still risk bankruptcy. \n\nIf you do go bankrupt, in any civilized country you can’t go to jail for debt, in the USA you can, the country with the highest incarcerated population in the world in absolute numbers and relative too. To add salt to the injury it is a country that did not completely make slave work illegal, it is still legal if you are not a free citizen and your prison system exploit that.\n\nSo it is a country that you can become slave because you got sick.\n\nThen there are the guns… the fact you think you are exempt of school shootings says it all, if you live in a small city it would not affect you? Are you really saying mass shootings never occur in small cities?! No, never. I would NEVER move to the USA. The only kind of weapon a citizen should be able to buy are hunting rifles and hand guns. Both of wich you need special licenses to obtain and can take up to 2 months to get. When guns are the most common way children die, how can you kid yourself it's not a problem. One of things that I learnt 33 years ago when I moved to USA was not to convert the money because you won’t be able to eat. I sponsored my mother almost 20 years ago and she didn’t enjoy living here because of her life and friends back home. It was very difficult to move here especially when you are in your fifties and especially if you aren’t working. One of the things that aunties are exaggerating is about the cost of the restaurant, I have never eaten in a restaurant that cost $400 for 4 people, even some of the best steak restaurants don’t cost that much. Final thing when they compare the Malls of Canada with India with limited supplies actually the malls here carry sizes that are not even available anywhere in the World. I do respect their views.
