Honestly I think the real problem is a smooth path to residency/citizenship. \nIllegal immigrants want to do it right but the system sucks and takes way too long. I’m talking more than 5, 10, 15 years. \nPeople act like you can get it done like going to your local Starbucks. Illegal immigrants pay taxes just like everyone else and don’t receive a lot of benefits.

Some of our citizens are benefiting greatly from illegal workers including construction, manufacturing, services, agriculture, … but they don’t support their own workers ? those are truly disgusting people!

How about passing this law: If you sneak into the United States of America, you will Never be a citizen and Never get any benefits. No Exceptions. For those people whining that the illegal migrants already pay taxes--that's their loss. Apply the legal way to work in this country.

This woman is right. We need people who are willing to sacrifice their time and their old citizenship to become Americans. She sacrificed a great deal to become a true American citizen. I do not want to be a citizen of another country although I have spent time as a guest worker LEGALLYin other countries. I was not allowed to take jobs in those countries (Japan and Germany) that native workers had the right to take. I was not given benefits or a right to vote. I had a passport which I was required to carry at all times because as a foreign worker I could be stopped and questioned about my legal status. My passport showed my working status in country with the appropriate stamp. I accepted these restrictions as part of my working conditions. I wanted to keep my own citizenship as an American although I could have worked to obtain the fluency level required and the citizenship understanding of law and legal procedures to become a citizen. It would have taken time and waiting for an application to clear. That is what it would have required but I wanted to be an American. I did not renounce my citizenship lightly…nor should anyone without work and thoughtful consideration of what it is to BE a member of that country.

What they apparently don't know is that time and again historically Republicans have blocked any legislation to fix our broken immigration system. They don't want to fix it because employers like having cheap labor & that they can threaten to call ICE when undomented workers complain of unsafe working conditions or low wages or no benefits.

We shouldn’t be preparing for an influx we need to prepare to close our borders. No more asylum seekers into Canada. Our resources are for the people that pay for them not for those who come here to benefit from our better standard of living. Fix things back home and then immigrate through the proper channels. how will they identify the illegals? what happens to the businesses who lose employees? employment rates are high in the US. we have high employment in australia with many businesses who cannot find people to work in their businesses how will they identify the violent criminals? will they increase the police forces/army? will the costs of doing this outweigh the benefits? what are the benefits of getting rid of these people beyond some 'trumped up' idea they are somehow a threat??

Take away all the free benefits, don't allow businesses to hire any of them, tell them all to leave on their own and apply the right way, the ones that don't leave they will be deported and never again have the option to apply for citizenship again

I give it two weeks after they actually begin before we get reporting that they have deported a legal resident (3 days for it to happen, and the rest is for discovery and reporting).\nI give it one month tops before we find out they have deported actual citizens.
