The depression you get in the winter is so bad that it affects you physically, mentally and spiritually. Canada has changed for the worst over the years. It no longer is a paradise for the poor immigrants. Heavy Taxation, bad healthcare system, corrupt government, extreme weather condition, high cost of living, boring, work and life imbalance, discrimination, traffic and the list goes on. There are still few good things left though. We are happy to be leaving soon.?

My wife, my 3 kids and I used to like Vancouver but not anymore!!! The weather is why we plan to leave for good but also the expensive rents! I also heard about horror stories at many hospitals (and yes, I have worked in Africa and to be honest, Africans hospitals are way more functional than the ones in Canada in terms of human aspect… there they care, Canadians do not give a shit about anyone!!! And I am saying this as a Belgian!!! I have some African colleagues at work here and at least 80 percent of them either want to go back to Africa (one is actually going to start an Afro business there and build his own house) or move to Europe (one of them plans to live to my homeland Belgium and two others in France as apparent the pensions there are way better than the Canadian one) as soon as they get enough experience in canada! None of us at work , including me, want to retire or get old here in Canada! For me personally, it is the Canadian extreme loneliness and lack of willingness to open to others that really shuts me down… I am fed up and and tired of paying taxes in a country where some (not all) hospitals and some retirement homes treat patients like … objects, not human beings! I now understand (as before I did not) why even some of my African colleagues are looking forward to go back to Africa or to some of them, immigrate to Europe! .. none of us want to be left alone and depressed in this so highly individualistic and unfriendly, falsely “cool” country called Canada… a country that claims America and France are racist countries when not even one CEO in Canada is coloured! I am also fed up of Canadians being cool!!!! Cool???? Yes, their humour is crap and they are all too serious… not astonishing why so many end up being depressed or on meds to be able to function! \nLast: I am fed up with 1. The stupid credit score system which makes North Americans anxious and frustrated!!!! Stupidity does not even exist in France or Belgium where I am from! 2.food is Canada is … not good…lol… really close to being bad! 3.the country is boring… reason… people are so disciplined and nothing happens!!! I just miss Europe even if we are far from being perfect and I prefer our imperfections to the Canadian perfect society which end up making people boring and annoying!!! 4. Canadians are shallow compared to us Europeans 5. Their transit system sucks if compared to Europe 6. Health care system is nothing comptable to what we got in Europe!!!! \nResult: I leave Canada years before retirement as The last thing I want for me is to remain in a country and get “sunk” Into Canadian depression, Canadian loneliness and Canadian “coolness”. \nOhh just as an indicator, it is really rare to see someone who is happy in Vancouver BC these days… the city just looks like a factory to make people work, make Canadian banks richer and pay taxes! Apart from that, I do not give a damn about the beautiful scenery and lakes as long as everyone around gets scammed with unjustified and ridiculous high cost of living!!!

In 2004 I wrote a somewhat famous article called 'Eight reasons not to immigrate to Canada'. In short, the Canadian authorities tried to destroy my life. They made it so that I could not be employable in Canada. So I moved to the U.S. in 2005 and then some years later I moved permanently to Asia. I am happy that so many years later videos like yours are saying essentially the same thing. I was ahead of my time. I will never go back to Canada, not live, not to visit, not even a connecting flight. Too expensive, too cold, too depressing, very high taxes, no jobs, xenophobic people . . . a horrible place.

As hunting goes, we get some of the most varied big game species in all of Canada (Black bear, Moose, Elk, White Tail Deer, Forest Bison, Woods and Plain Caribou, Wolves). Cost of living is easy on the wallet, and life is just pretty chill.\n\nIf Manitobans are the least happy, it's because our Province was founded in revolution on the principal of keeping the Government out of the lives of the people and leaving the citizenry self-determinate, and when we see the people running the Province and Country forgetting that, it annoys us.

Good for you. We left Canada in 2011, wishing we had left earlier. Moved to NYC then California, maybe Texas next. I came back for a visit in March, could not believe the Covid rules. About the drinking, loved downtown Georgetown TX, you can get a traveller and walk around town and people are happy and friendly

Ok. I think the 1st reason says it all. You were not happy.\nI moved to Canada (Montreal and then Toronto) from Spain (Barcelona) and it has been nothing but positive for me. I could drive earlier, studies were so much more practical, I had asthma and it went away (lot less air pollution), jobs were better, bigger houses, less people. Don’t get me wrong, Europe is great but I love Canada as well.

Trust me I’m a Canadian Citizen I’m moving out from Canada. Life in Canada is not easy nor happy life as you thought especially for those whom come with nothing it will be very hard and will be struggling to make the end needs . I’ve landed in Canada as international student in 2018 and in 2021 I became permanent resident \nLife here is not all flowers and greens (though life in Canada is much more easier than in India)\nBut i enjoy my life here, even I’m making little as $17 and I don’t know if I’ll be able to get myself property or no, \nBut I’m happy \nThank you God!

I am a Registered Nurse in the Philippines, then migrated in Canada in 2014, and become Canadian Citizen in 2020. I tried to be a Nurse in Canada, but it was extremely difficult.. Fastforward, I got to enrol in a bridging program for International Nurses in 2020 in Ontario and I was so happy! When I was about to start the program, COVId hit and they cancelled the school.. Not knowing if I could secure a seat in the program (the usual waiting time for the seat is 3-5years!) I decided to just moved to US and work as an RN.. But I really miss Canada, planning to live near the border, but the rentals are 3-4x expensive compare to US! Canada is becoming more and more expensive too.. ?

Wow unbelievable immigrants come from everywhere and still complain about Canada why don't u leave then this is a first World country I'd rather live here in Canada than USA or Europe, I don't see people from south America come here and complain that's because there happy to be here than a 3rd world country . be thankful for Canada rather than complaining

Immigrants will not be happy living in Canada.

I have friends that live in Ontario. A great place if you are Type A and super outgoing. A great self promoter brimming with confidence. Otherwise you may be happier in the Maritimes or Western Provinces. Ontario is not terribly happy with those people who do not measure up to the Ontario brand of success. It can be a miserable place for new Canadians who may eventually realize that they can happily live in other parts of Canada.

I left canada after living 3 years there. I realised money can't buy happiness ?. Very happy with my decision. Canada is beautiful but u feel lonely there.

Sri lankan here, totally agree about Canada. You dont see anybody outside. You only see you neighbors once a week when they put out their garbage or shovel the snow for 9 months. Only 3 months in the summer you see few people here and there. Its very depressing, stressful, and anxious. I've been here for 30yrs and still can't get used to it. I travel.alot and many tropical places are very poor but they're happy enjoying and lively. If my country is not committing genocide and corruption, my country sri lanka is beautiful. I was hoping the country will get better, its been 30yrs and its at the worst situation presently.

I think Canada is better. You can strike up a conversation with anyone and most times they are happy to do so.

I lived in Canada for 15 years and this rang true more & more as the years went on, I would never order food online as I needed an excuse to leave the house. At 49 I found myself pondering what to do with my life, I went on vacation to Thailand and the first thing that struck me was the openness and friendliness of the place. People sit in the front of their house with the doors open and everybody is welcome to say hi, of course there are exceptions. I now live in Thailand with my new wife in a small village, our doors are never locked, family comes, neighbours come, kids play, everybody is welcome anytime. Such a better way to live. My experience about Canada after living here for a few years now: \n1): Healthcare: There are two sides of it. If you need a specialist, forget about it, just live with your disease or problems and hope it will cure itself and won’t get worse. If you are in a life threatening condition and need a surgery, you’ll get it and the medical bill won’t scare you. I needed a dermatologist, never got one, eventually had to fly to the US for a simple treatment. \n2): Taxes: You’ll pay extra to take care of the large aging population of Canada and to maintain the infrastructure in the extreme cold weather. But, you can make a good use of your RRSP and TFSA accounts, and you can also buy American stocks without paying taxes. \n3): Travel and transportation: Forget about public transportation methods like buses and trains. You’re on your own. But a vehicle ownership isn’t very hard here. \n4): Social networking: Good luck with that. Good luck finding friends here or being a part of a friends group. Canadians are polite but not outgoing and extrovert. Most people make a few friends in Schools and College. You’re not going to see people of different races and origin hanging out with each other. \n5): Real estate: Population is growing, population is aging, it’s all happening but what’s not many houses are getting built. Buying your own house isn’t easy. If you’ve bought one, good luck with the energy prices. \n5): Landscape: It’s gorgeous out here, if you want to be happy in Canada, go out for sightseeing.\n6): Jobs: Totally depends in which jobs you can fit in and what previous experience you have. Manitoba is one of the least happy provinces, but in Canada that’s really happy.

I'm not happy but we have to admite that Canada is no longer a good country to move to because of high taxes, extreme climate, poor and slow healthcare system, impossible to buy a house. This is so sad because Canada is a extremly beautiful country and the canadians are so nice and polite people.

Canadian's are losing everything. Immigration needs to end. This country can't afford to provide for more immigrants. As lifelong Canadian. I was raised in Brampton Ontario and when my family moved there from ?Nova Scotia there were a total of 20.000thousand people there and when I left there after my mother died I went west my brother stayed my father stayed for 10 more years then went back to NS and I went from BC to Edmonton To Prince Albert it would seem I go to every shit hole in Canada but when I left Brampton there were 3.8 million and when I went back to visit my father in N.S. and my brother in Brampton it was 6.8million and Pictou was the nicest Brampton sucked as the crime rate was crazy .When we were in EDENPARK DRIVE we were there first and the first Pakistani's moved in with the whole color scream hooked shoes with bells on the toes and robes we never seen be for and then finding out there child is named Happy that was different but when my father got a gas BBQ and he was cooking his first roast beef they were all out there cursing my father for cooking there sacred animal and he said dam right it is sacred that my f-ckin dinner.

Hi girls and thank you I thought about going to Canada but now no desire to struggle life is so precious been living in the state now in Paris France a country I hate so iam not happy here now that my American French daughter is 20, I don't think moving to America is good life over there is not of good quality and is based upon materialism and money only and physical appearance like if you are not pretty enough tall blond enough with cash you would feel like an outcast. Canada is a way of life. Don't get trapped in credits, mortgage, lones etc you will have a happy life. I have seen many benefits of the Canadian system so I don't complain about taxes.☺️

Canada is one of the best countries to live in period. However, it got way too expensive. I moved to Canada 16 years ago and the prices rose 300-400% including housing, Real take home income is less than it used be. This country is different for everybody. If you came with money and dont have to work then you dont need to worry about the income tax and you can still enjoy all the benefits of living in Canada like healthcare. Tons of people on welfare and other assisting programs. High minimum wage. Underpayed skilled professional. The only ones i am happy for are the construction workers but the climate is so bad you really need to suffer everyday because it is really cold in winter and hot in summer.

I am Italian, lived in Canada for about a year 14 years ago, and since then living in Canada became my life long dream and obsession at the same time. I live in England these days, I work as a Linux engineer and I make more than I can spend. Still I am absolutely unhappy living here, I don't anyone, don't ever go out, I don't feel I belong and likely never will. Unfortunately immigrating to Canada is not an option due to the lack of a university degree, and going to school is really no option for me either. So yes, hearing about these stories of successful immigrants going back home makes me break in tears badly. I'd be happy to take an initial 50% pay cat if I only were given the chance.

I’m a Canadian Citizen through my parent since age 5 years old and has lived in Canada almost of my life getting tired of how the system worked, deep down it’s like socialism system through the world it’s a greater country to visit but to live and raise your family it’s really a struggle almost in any aspects of area . Even though I’m working as a nursing field I realized Canada it’s really tough on work employment really discrimination etc….I’m here in USA so much freedom and life seems much decent living as long you know how to narrow it and live a peaceful life . Canada is over hyped, life is easy in UK, my family went to Canada 20 years ago from UK with UK pounds, it was easy then to get visa, property was very cheap not any more but now they are very successful and happy, I like Toronto city but the winter got me minus 30- And minus lots of pounds I came to UK one positive gains my son was born there hence a Canadian ????

It actually depends from what country you migrated from, your networks here and luck of course. Me and my wife coming from developing country and migrating here in Canada realized how much our lives have changed for the better. We could buy our own vehicle and purchase our own home. Yes its true, we have give up our friends back home but we found new friends here. It is how you accept life as it is and be happy. Canada is not for everybody I agree, but for someone like us, Canada is our second home.

I left Canada to have a better life overseas some years ago, and I'm very happy with my life now. I grew up in Toronto and moved to Vancouver with my family later on, but neither places had weather conditions we wanted. Toronto winter is too long and Vancouver has depressing non-stop rain for six months. On top of all that, everything there got way too expensive to live and everything is too slow... Did I mention endless road constructions everywhere since forever ago? Well, some of us tried very hard to stay but sometimes migrating can help. \nCanada is definitely a beautiful country, but beauty isn't what makes our lives happy in reality.

From my experience if you are skilled to work in IT (web developer, software quality assurance, cloud architect, DevOps) you can definitely get a job without local experience.
