I've been to several embassies Western and other European Non Western embassies in India over the past 25 years and most of them don't allow Indian visa applicants inside the Embassy/Consulate. Some allow Indian visa applicants only at the entrance or only inside the gate not beyond. Others allow Indian visa applicants only at the gate and you hand your application and passport to the security. It depends on what kind of visa of course. If it's for tourism or a short term visa then you're not allowed inside. If it's long term then some embassies interview you so those embassies allow. But the embassies of those very countries in countries other than India are much more open and you can actually go inside the embassy and speak to consular officers etc. In India in most Western embassies and even some Non Western embassies you cannot do that unless you're applying for long term visa or immigration etc.

The answer is easy, Indians want to immigrate in large numbers. Reciprocal restrictions on visa against the Western countries is meaningless. This lady is loud in her nationalism but has no useful ideas. What does she suggest as economic leverage?

The problem is fear that Indians will travel to the West and not go back. Not just Indians, but Africans, South Americans and many Asian countries do the same. I've lived in the US for 55 years. There was an Indian music troop that came to the US to perform, maybe 20 people, including singers, musicians, comedians etc. After their tour in the US, half of them did not return to India. They figured they can make a better living in the US and live here as an illegal immigrant. This is too common. The next time when a troop of musicians want a US visa, chances are the immigration office will think twice about approving a visa. I can travel anywhere with a US passport because people know that Americans will return back to the US.

Indian news, and particularly your commentaries, are just nationalistic rants. You need to speak the truth and explain the real reasons why Indians have a hard time getting visas for Western and developed countries. The largest number of illegal immigrants in the US, Canada and Western Europe are Indians. Many Indians have no intention of returning to India. You should at least mention this, but not even mention this factor shows you are just tightening nationalistic sentiments,

It's a shame that we talk about 5th biggest economy.... and politicians and actors saying at immigration they ask are you coming from Modi's country.... Bullshit... the moment they see Indian passport they don't want to trust that you are here for tourism.. ... We are treated worst than 3rd class citizens. Immigration dept of many advanvanced countries make lot of money out of mainly indiansy, and tax heavily those who are allowed and work. That runs in billions. That helps the coward laws to house and pay for unruly immigrants!! ;And then they also condemn the indians.

Hilarious that not so long ago Palki was in Oxford giving a speech about how powerful India passport is. Apparently according to her the Immigration officer in the UK was impressed about her Indian passport.lolzz. Indian passport holders and quite unfortunately Indian citizens/Indian subcontinent folks are some of the least respected people around the world. Our passport ranking is similar to poor african nations what do you expect one of the worsts in the world . The government doesn't secure our countries borders to prevent illegal immigrants entering the nation and our some beloved Indians break rules and stay illegally in other countries . Check lithuanai 100 percent visa rejection I checked .all student visa. They take college fee , visa fee totally 3500 euro ? finally rejection. They did from 2015 till now. Totally they scam more than 35000 crore . Do documentry . Klaipeda university and it is public university sell application to minimum 10 thousand students and never reply . Application fee 200 euro ...even got tution fee 2000 euro and never reply . I personally went to university in Lithuania and checked . Being indian i was put into severe check and questions by immigration officers at Hong kong, Macua and Japan though i have decent travel history...this is due to indians have reputation of over staying in the past in Dubai / Malaysia/ Singapore with tourist visa. As indians we have to blame ourselves. They check are we genuine traveller and have sufficient funds to meet our Travel expenses i see nothing wrong in that.

When you have smashed your manufacturing, you won't have money, if you won't have money, people will be running to other countries like crazy, It's unusual immigration which is hated anywhere even if you tell.them with broad smile that we are the Vishhvguru they gonna hate you. Countries do not just reject visas for no reason. Probably because in there data many Indian Nationals over-stay there visa and stay there for good even though tourist visa already expired. Immigration can determined who is entering and departing in their port of entries. Many Indian nationals stay in a country undocumented that's the reason of visa rejection!

Indian Government should voluntarily help countries to deport illegal Indian immigrants. Though majority of Indians travel abroad for holidaying , around 25% of them try to illegally settle in host countries . This is not just problem of Indians, even Pakistanis & Bangladeshis also has same mentality. Hence GOI should bring in strict rules and mechanism to stop illegal migration from India . This will boost confidence on Indian passport .

Indians are peddled this dream that everything outside is a heaven since early childhood. They see pictures of skyscrapers in Manhattan, London and Frankfurt and think everyone is living like that outside. These people are further brainwashed by immigration agencies and disguised human traffickers to put lakhs or even crores on the line for just going outside. They sell their lands, properties and other assets just to be able to go out pursuing a misleading dream.\n\nThis is a problem especially in states like Punjab, Gujarat, Telangana, Andhra and Kerala, where most of the people still believe that it's better living outside than inside. These are not people who don't have anything in India but rather well-to-do families that have homes and assets and families in the country. \n\nThen comes the added Western bias and negative media image through propaganda. \n\nIndia has much work to do - if the country keeps complaining, nothing will get done.

Indians are flooding these countries and many stay back illegally . Many are now undertaking underhand activities. Huge numbers coming with FAKE educational qualifications and documents. The trust system is broken now. Unchecked immigration has put high pressure on the health and housing sectors.

The Rejection rate is still very low . India can also do more to prevent illegal immigration to other countries. That gives all Indians a bad image and more scrutiny when they apply for a Visa. Like Requiring all Indians travelling overseas to have a return ticket and digital copy of their Visa, passport that can be accessed by the Indian embassy in the country they plan to visit . So if they are illegals or lose their passport, the India Embassy/Gov will know or be able to help them with a new passport to travel back to India. Digital copy is to be submitted to the Indian Embassy in the country they plan to visit days before departure, with conformation .\n\n These simple steps will bring more credibility to Indian Passport holders.

It is surprising they still give out millions of visas while a significant number of travelers abuse the system! Rest of the world also does not want illegal immigrants/visa abusers the same way India doesn't. They might reconsider their rejection if India offers free deportation flights to back home for the millions of Indian illegal immigrants around the world and do a better job of screening potential abusers at the emigration step.

I usually agree with everything you say, in this case it’s sadly illegal immigrants and abuse of visas. Come as a tourist or hidden in a truck, work as a take away driver. \n\nMany Indians say dual citizenship leads to dual loyalty, if U.K. or USA open up their country to India. Last year, the most illegal immigration was from India, a very humiliating figure for an Indian by birth. And very naturally UK will step up to reject visas now. Nothing wrong with it !

Please fact check your video. Atleast in EU shengen irregular immigration from Indian subcontinent is a social hot potato. Refer Portugal for example- theres an entire parliamentary debate this week on addressing the social havoc irregular subcontinental immigration has caused. The scenario can be true for most Mediterranean southern European countries. Ground reality is most of West is not dependent on India for skilled immigration. Infact most that comes through is low skilled labour. Skilled STE(A)M immigration is a not a high percentage. Until India changes this, the passport strength will not improve.

thats because indians once they land in a foreign country donot want to go back, thats reflects a very bad image of indians.. I am a legal immigrant in UK, but I see so many indians who misuse study visa to stay beyond their visa expiry and eventually become illegal immigrants just taking advantage of the system.. this reflects are very bad image.

Australia banned student intake from 4 north indian states. they have reason to do so. no country shuts door to quality immigrants. myself and my spouse (Skilled couple) got invited for PR with in 2 years of our stay in Australia.

Many people now days have a negative view of Indian immigrants. USA is flooded with Indian scammers. Many complain about behavioral issues. So, the reputation is not exactly great. I've seen more and more US and Canadians pushing back.

Funny that One major point probably was missed by the editor.. Indians themselves need to be blamed. The level of missue of tourist visa- creating ruckus-going on a holiday without surety of funds.. \nplease also check the status of immigration rejections, which play the most important role in such census..

how about indians entering countries on visitor visas and staying illegally ... so 1st and foremost we need to mend our ways \nlot of people are after easy money or some fake illusion of luxurious life abroad without putting hard yards in ... fact is most of these idiots end up selling their ancestral properties or forcing parents to take unfavorable loans in search of their world of fantasies .\nMy advice to all such people skill up and work on yourself you will be able to live your life with dignity irrespective of where you are either in India or abroad . Sorry as a British born Indian I must say this when Indians from the motherland come it pushes down the salary we natives get as big companies pay Indians from India less than natives. It is a massive problem for us local people??????? I am a proud Indian but I am also a proud Brit from my lovely west country, 80s born. How about a few more major reasons why Indian Visas are being rejected by most of the countries. It's not anti immigrant it is anti -indian sentiment because of our uncivilized behavior, breaching visa conditions and seeking asylum all over the world. It's not western world that needs our talent, in fact India needs the west to export our talent because we can't afford our population. Sadly, government officials are helping the human traffickers to create forged documents and police cases so that they can make a valid excuse. Indians are being hated everywhere because of India.

It is about demand/supply, per capita income, general level of education/behavior, and past experience with visitors - especially the risk of undocumented immigrants. Indians are too keen to visit other countries - but those countries do not view this as a good thing in terms of cost/benefit. 5th largest economy holds much less water than a mid-level per capita income - when we are talking about individual citizens.

Illegal immigration is the main reason, everywhere in the world indian illegal immigrants seeking Asylum.

Indian govt should guarantee the return of any illegal Indian immigrant from these countries and there won’t be many rejections unless there is a strong reason for rejection.

Palki, the reason is see the percentage of illegal immigrants. Indians have a huge disproportionate high share of this. You need to start looking at the issues in a dispassionate manner. Unnecessary nationalism will not fetch you any brownie points.
