Why are so many Indians choosing NOT to leave Canada even their visas have already expired?

Many Indians are making problems in Canada. Sorry for the good Indians, you are being generalized because many of your countrymen don't respect Canada and its culture.

Canada’s Indian population is less than 2% . That translates into too many white people. Time to balance the scales.\nFor decades canada and America discriminated against Indians and shut them out. Things are about to change. What goes around comes around. Karma is a bitch.

So its basically sonething of an National Registrar for Citizens programme in India. \n\nContext - It all began in Northeast India, a tegion which has been neglected by the Indian government for quite a long time. The region is populated by Hindus speaking Assamese (in Assam), Bengali (in Tripura) & Meitei (in Manipur), with a large significant population of Tibeto-Burmese tribal populations following either Christianity, their own folk religions or integrated with Hindus & a minority of Bengali Muslims (mostly in Assam). This area was conquered by the British in 1820s, & with the British came a lot of non-native peoples (mostly Bengali speaking people), thereby making the noatives absolutely hate their presence. Following the Partition of India, many Bengali Hindus fleeing persecution migrated to Northeast India, fuelling further unrest. Over time, a large number of Bengali Muslims from what is now Bangladesh illegally migrated into the Northeast & integrated themselves with the local Muslim population (settled by the British), thereby changing the regional demographics based on religion. In the 1980s the increasing number of Bengali Muslims in the Northeast Indian state of Assam sparked an insurrection, which was put down after the Indian government promised to identify & deport illegal immigrants. Similar rebellions also broke out in other states of Northeast India by the tribal population against the rise in numbers of Bengali Hindus seeking shelter from religious persecution by Muslims in Bangladesh. However, very little progress was made in identifying illegal immigrants in Northeast India. After 2011 census revealed that Muslims outnumbered Hindus in Assam (but the combined Hindu-tribal populated outnumbered Muslims), talks began about setting a registrar & tribunal to speed up the process of identifying & deporting illegal immigrants from Bangladesh. This picked up pace after the Hindu nationalist BJP party came to power in the union government in 2014 & in Assam's state government in 2016. Around 2018, the Assam government started the National Register of Citizens to register the names of all people of the state provided that they can show proof of their/their parents being present in the state before 1971, inabilty to do so would cause to stand trial before a Foreigners' Tribunal to prove their citizenship or face deportation. This exercise was fraught with allegations of xenophobia, with Bengali Hindus, Gorkhas (settled by the British from Nepal to serve in the army) & Austro-Asiatic tribals (settled by the British to work as labourers in tea gardens) being branded as illegal infiltrators alongside Bengali Muslims. Those who were unable to prove their citizenship ended up rounded in detention centres, eventually to be deported out, which at that time many in Europe & USA had compared with Nazi concentration camps. \nIt would be interesting to see whether this same Nazi analogy is drawn up in case of the Trump administration doing the same as what happened in India.

See, I know this is wrong. But we have to be honest I am an Indian but moved to America. I stayed in New Jersey and the environment we created there is absurd. We made the place dirty, uncivilized behaviour and the list is long. This is happening in Canada too. Canadians identify everyone as Indians but the major problem they have is with Khalistanis. They have become a menace, gun violence, crimes and a shit ton of things done by these people. There is always a reaction and it is unfortunate that the innocent ones has to face the reaction. We Indians only look at the good ones as an example when it comes to Indian immigrants, but the chaos and misconduct is created by the rest of the uncivilized Indians who are huge in Numbers. My experience girlfriend was Canadian, her mother owned a departmental store she caught and called cops on many occasions were our peyare caught on camera stealing, damaging the store and also peeing right in the corner of the store. I saw all these footage. The major problem with Canada is most of the Indian immigrants that went there were uneducated and directly went to Canada from Indian villages, it's a cultural shock for them and during the initial period everyone behaved in a uncivilized manner. Please understand the root cause of the issue. If I am a guest at your house and keep on causing harm to your home and if this keeps on repeating you will end up frustrated.

We should show to the world that they should feel about oh Indians are highly educated, deplomatic, very polite, good cultured etc. etc. India never learn this, that means we all are loosing golden opportunity being there and having good job becoz of few bloody Indians. Indians panicking. They are being shunned In so many countries for their bad ways. Canada can find more affluent and less troublesome students from elsewhere. Students visas are NOT for staying permanently or for working indefinitely.

Many people have commented here to change India and make it livable instead of dreaming of Canada but let me tell you, ideally it is very welcoming and patriotic thought to make India top class country in the world in all respect but keeping current politicians standards, democratic model and caste & religion discrimination, it is next to impossible to implement changes. China has done despite massive population because it has hidden dictatorship and there are no inside traitors. Many entities within and outside India are doing their level best to break and shake India. \n\nI am from Canada, I just arrived in India on vacation. It disturbed me a lot to see trash and garbage everywhere ( especially on Kurla-Andheri-Mankhurd) on the streets from Mumbai airport, the town planning, landscape, traffic, road quality, people's civic sense (and many more things to mention) are in worst shape which is not a sign of good quality life. Especially when you enjoy lavish, luxurious, clean hygienic, sustematic life style abroad, you naturally tend tobe fascinated with that country, no matter how much patriotic you're. Somewhere people make the problem, somewhere government or governing bodies and somewhere both. \nForeign visitors must be experiencing what I experienced. That is why we Indians are always become victims of hate and criticism abroad.

People keep using fear mongering by talking about denaturalization and how it can strip your citizenship and depot you against your will. And while that may be true, that only applies to those who got their citizenship through naturalization....and there are many other ways to get a citizenship lol. I saw U.S born citizens (I am speaking about other races that white people) freaking out that they may lose their citizenship ?. Once , my cousin and his friend had an roommate who’s an Indian immigrant. That Indian guy caused trouble to my cousin and his friend. He borrowed their stuff with out asking them. And the Indian dude don’t know how to use the bathroom properly. He uses toilet paper after using the toilet. But he threw them in the garbage instead of the toilet. And there was toilet ppr with shit showing in the trash. And then my cousin and his friend got into an argument with the Indian and my cousin and his friend complained to the land lady and the landlady kicked out the Indian guy evicting him. It a problem that there are too many Indian ppl in Canada. U Indians are always into other ppl face! Thinking that this country is like India!

Everything is politics. When they allowed so many Indians to migrate because Indians were paying college fees of 40000 $, plus working 40hrs weekly at cheap rate till that point non of Canadians were having issues. Modern day slavery you guys wanted? Your govt did not take any action, they could have reduced this long time back but no one did that as it will effect there vote. I also came to Canada in 2006 as an immigrant with my 2 bags and started my new life with empty handed which almost all Indians had started on their time. Yes it’s very hard to adopt other cultures 100% for first generation. But have you think how this new immigrants have their own house and good jobs or business. Why their kids achieved higher education without any loan because their parents worked 7 days without looking around so called culture. They believe in work hard and focus on their family and kids and in extra time visit temple or Gurudwara just to keep live their believes. Do you know how many places where you find 3 times free hot food for everyone in Brampton at Gurudwara and Temple without looking at his originality. \nDon’t think the immigrants are coming here are poor in their country or helpless like refugees. Most of are millionaires in India but in Indian culture the stupid thoughts is to earn for next 7 generations so because of that greediness they work here 7 days and that’s why they are not homeless. As they have some values of their Indian culture they have not drug addictions.\nNot 100% Indian are good and loyal or honest. during the pandemic many restaurant chains suffered, so later Sikhs Indians, were hired to fill the gap, but now that things are getting back to normal they do not leave and even more come for these entry level jobs, but the problem is if people from India keep taking these jobs, our kids fresh out of high school are looking for their first jobs to break into the work force, which is now becoming difficult as the Sikhs already have already taken them.....

I went to Vancouver and Toronto, and yes see more and more Indians living and working there. I guess Canada need more (cheap labor) migrants. I am sure for Indians, standard of living and opportunities, for many are much better than living in India.

This guy is right for the most part. A gov't telling the world to come in and not integrate or learn English is a big part of the problem. Then there are Indians who exploit Indians overseas. The thing too is the bad people coming now get so much free stuff. The rest of the immigrants who built this country had no programs yet have to pay for the newcomers who are changing the country. So some things aren't the Indians fault. The rest of us who came and adapted now face discrimination from newcomers and our own people who say Canada has no culture. I come from a time when foreigners got along for the most part. Now so many groups that all hate each other.
