This guy helped a lot of Canadians during COVID when a huge number of Canadian health care workers abandoned their jobs. Or, is everyone forgetting that? We bring immigrants in, because Canadians don't have enough children to keep the country running and the pension system going. And, yet ... you want to send this guy away. I'm amazed at the ignorance of some people.

Talking about my trade, aviation., it is really huge in germany, but..with 50% tax on your income..and the german security clearance which is absolute bureaucratic nightmare to get..and it's only one among Others..i gave up .., going to more straight forwards neighboring countries...\nTalking about German people.. there are the one in Europe i enjoyed the most working with.. because they have the best compromise between discipline, ethics, and laid-back Attitude..\nPeople commenting, complaining about lack of English speakers in administration...come on !! this Germany ,you have to speak German..you are the guest not the host.

I feel bad for those who were duped into coming here to Canada. They had big dreams of becoming successful here, instead not being able to do that and being forced to live in cramped accommodations. I work in healthcare, and a lot of people who work in the facility in which I'm employed were brought here from the Philippines and India, mostly. Some were hired directly by this employer, while others came here some other way. Those with professions like being an RN were under the impression that it wouldn't take that long or be that difficult to get their Canadian certification to work as RNs here. Instead, they found out that the process for that here in Canada is a lot tougher and takes a lot longer than they'd been led to believe. So many are left not being able to use their education to its fullest, instead working as care aides until they can get the proper certification. I know that this has also happened with doctors and engineers and to many in other professions for which they went to school for years. It's a real shame.\n\nThis massive influx of people coming from other countries, though, has been really tough on those of us who were already living here. It's been way too many people, and we just weren't prepared. It's been one of the biggest factors in the huge increase of cost of living and, of course, it's by far the reason we have an enormous housing shortage.\n\nI'm not completely anti-immigration, but I think that it needs to be stopped, at least for a while. Let us deal with what's going on now instead of bringing in more people that would only help to make things worse, through no fault of their own. There's no reason that we need to have more people coming here right now. We have way more than enough people here right now.

They need skilled immigration and they take unskilled immigration, which instead of adding to the budget will draw from it. Where is the sense and logic in that? For many years, Germany drained Poland and other post-communist countries of skilled workers, then the difference in the standard of living between the West and the East of Europe was huge, today it has decreased to the point that people prefer to live with dignity among their own people. Now Poland has become a country accepting immigrants from the East, the language is similar so it is easy to learn, the culture is similar, the standard of living is good and the streets are safe. Germany is no longer as attractive to skilled workers as it used to be, the cost of living is high and you can get stabbed in the liver on your way to work.

Canada has very kind government - accepting all people from around the world, our health system is overloaded. Today I took a short trip on a bus , I saw two recent migrants: one old black man in wheelchair and huge young but mentally ill black man - he was screeming and throwing his enourmous fists all time during the trip - passengers were terrified. It is very different picture from what was 20 years ago.

Canada has huge land and a tiny population! Weak economy is not caused by immigration but the lack of ability to utilize its ENORMOUS resources! Even if Canada just focuses on farming, it can't have economic crisis ever! For all that, it needs planning and of course human resources!

Australia, Canada, UK and USA are rubbish, shithole countries with insanely overpriced housing bubbles. Anyone immigrating to these countries in the next few years will be making a huge mistake. Don't do it!

The US is a huge landmass and the land of plenty. Why would Greece accept Afghan and Pakistanie immigrants? Ship them all to the USA which created the problems in their countries in the first place

It's not exactly an immigration problem. More like an illegal immigration problem. People are coming in illegally, and the country has to take in more people than it can handle. No proper housing, jobs or infrastructure to support a huge number of people.

I totally agree with literally everything you mentioned. I have been working since 2018 in Germany and since that time I feel the same, you pay every month a huge amount of taxes however you get a few back. Still not saying about the pension which I probably won't get.

There are also massive problems with integration into the Canadian culture. There are huge variants between our two countries. For example, it is illegal to touch/grope another person without consent. It is illegal for men to touch woman/children inappropriately!

Immigrants/newcomers were never responsible for our failing housing policies while policy makers are !\n\nWhen we market ourselves as the dream destination for mass migration and lure hundreds of thousands of new comers per year it's OUR duty to ensure that our housing and services can support the huge numbers we're letting in.\n\nOur policy makers failed immigrants as much as they failed their own citizens in the process.

Most(80% or more) of people in Canada are immigrants. Europeans, Asians, Africans, etc, so it’s laughable when some people say immigration is the problem of Canada. \nThe real issue was COVID. It strained the economy of Canada and most other countries. Also, many of the countries are sending a huge amount of money to Ukraine, Israel, Palestine and Russia, as they are at war.

Germany is just a huge factory owned by Germans that need workers to keep the factory running. Don’t expect to be accepted and you’ll be fine. But do well to save money and get out as quickly as possible

I'm Canadian born and raised. My grandparents came from England after WW2 for a better life and sadly the Canada that they immigrated to is long dead. \n\nThe lack of opportunity and the insane policies of the federal government has severely decimated the quality of life in Canada. I wanted to start a family and own a home, nothing huge or extravagant, just something to call my own and all of that seemed impossibly out of reach to me. I had a somewhat well-paying job and lived within my means and I could not seem to get ahead. I didn't own a large or new vehicle, rarely ate out and would always try to buy used. Still, I could barely save or invest anything. \n\nNot wanting to live in a place that just wants me to be poor, lonely and unhealthy I pulled the trigger and left for Eastern Europe. I have no regrets and while it has been a difficult and stressful process, it has been well worth it.

Daniel Bernhard from the Institute for Canadian Citizenship totally blew off the infrastructure problem and therefore is a contributor to the hardship all Canadians including newcomers will be facing for many years. Saying we need immigration and ignoring the needs of all in Canada to have a job and a place to live is a big problem. HUGE.

I find there is a huge amount of double-speak in your comments, so much so that you sound very insincere. Example: all the praise of Canada, yet you are planning to leave, and with good reason. I've done extensive research on several countries to move to and it's not very difficult to see why so many Canadians (among those who have options) are leaving Canada. Here's one important data point for anyone who is interested: In the OECD's national growth rate projections to 2060 (not a typo, 2060), Canada has placed dead last! There are 38 OECD members. What this means is that the fundamentals are not in place in Canada. The country is now in free fall, as there is not enough wealth creation happening, and it's just not true, as this video suggests, that Canada still offers endless 'opportunities'. Stop the disingenuousness.

We don't have enough for Canadians while trying to provide for new people to come in and pay such a high cost of living. Newcomers are taking jobs from Canadians in huge numbers. These competitions aren't provided resources for our Canadians, while bringing loads of people.

Thank you for sharing your story. There are so many Canadians who share your views and who are equally upset about the state of affairs in Canada, including me and my husband. We have recently started contemplating moving to Serbia (my home country). Compared to Canada, Serbia has very affordable housing, and a much better healthcare system. Moreover, the majority of the population also speaks English and for someone coming from an an English speaking country like Canada, this is a huge bonus. Good luck on your journey and you have made the right decision to move.

You just gave us a huge hint....you probably are appling to live somewhere in Europe because you said once you are there you will have the opportunity to travel to so many contries. I think you refer to being part of the European union.....but maybe I am wrong.

The wealthy won't stop until they have everything! The US and Canada suffers from this because of EXTREME Capitalism! Your tax money goes to subsides for large corporations and not the people. This needs balance to improve the social contract. The rich buy everything up and charge the masses whatever they please, not what the market will bear! People go into huge debt just trying to live! We've had the USA madly printing money which stokes inflation as well as predatory global corporate cartels using covid as an excuse to collude on raising prices and boosting corporate profits. Then we have US and British corporations using countries like Canada and Australia as cheap mine sites. Finally, we have the property Ponzi scheme which keeps housing out of the reach of young people. In both Canada and Australia, the birth rate has fallen because young people cannot afford to have kids. Both countries maintain their population level via immigration but that con is now falling apart because migrants can see that the game is rigged. Canada and Australia both produce a huge amount of wealth but it doesn't flow to young folks. Old folks who have fat investment portfolios don't want to rock the boat but, by their inaction, they're throwing their country's future under the bus. It's no mystery as to where this path leads. Just take a look at the catastrophically low birth rate in South Korea. Look at Italy with its falling population.

I travel for living across Canada, and I have seen how even small towns have changed over the last decade. High crime and excessive immigration are just a few things. We have no one to blame but our current Prime Minister. How quickly our beautiful country changed. I lived in Ottawa all my life, but currently living and working in a small remote area in the Northwest Territories. Because I am a licensed, healthcare professional, It is not easy for me to work in another country and it will definitely mean a huge salary cut, but I am considering doing this as I am no longer feeling happy living in Canada. No need to demonize Canada like this,it might not be the perfect place to be and yes this crisis exists,But there are people who work their way through the system, Canada presents a great opportunity for a far richer lifestyle than in India,Of course there are a few downsides but not everything.I have been living in this country for the past 5 years and there is a huge potential in this country.Just need to be careful,And not everyone in Canada is injecting or investing drugs,Buying a house is expensive,That doesn't mean people live on the streets,They rent out.Due to sudden influx of immigrants and refugees there is a housing and job issue,But eventually due to measures in place this will be revolved Im sure Canada will bounce back and create more opportunities and affordable housing in the coming years

It is a great country but they are not business minded and thats why it is difficult to make money here in Canada. And the taxes on incomes and sales and on everything is huge and none sense and the cold winter is too long. and it is socialist , almost communist

Best of luck wherever you choose to go. Cost of living is a huge issue in Europe too - rents, food, property prices and so many other costs have spiralled out of control. The UK is particularly tough right now and most people experience a rude awakening when they come here - particularly London. Plus we have riots and real racial tensions now. I would not recommend anyone come to the UK unless they are wealthy.

It's not just Canada that has fallen, the WEFs tentacles stretch far and deep. The UK, is broken, my home of 52 years is no longer home. My wife and I have decided to leave, there is no way on God's green earth we would send our daughter to school in the $hithole that is called England. We are researching like mad, currently top of our list is Bulgaria, Albania, Mexico. It's a huge scary decision, but we can't live like this in this broken land, it is heart breaking to see the country you loved torn apart slowly and painfully piece by piece. If you or anyone inn the same situation have enough (A lot) of money, of course it's the smart choice to move abroad. You are still super young. But someone close to retirement and after living in Canada for a long time, Its not that smart. Canadian goverment wont pay you full pension if yu don't live for a minimum amount of time a year inside Canada. So giving away your money to the Canadian gov is not something that a lot of people are willing to do. Not after living years here and paying huge tax. But again you are lucky that you are young.

I lived for 8 years in Canada and then moved to Singapore three years ago. That was the best decision I ever made. I came back to Toronto this year, and was completely shocked by the cost of living, the drug problem on the street, and the huge amount of immigrants from one single country taking over the whole Canada.

Canadians are the last people to complain about immigrants, a huge portion of their doctors, engineers, nurses are immigrants. Even with that the shortage of these jobs is huge. You have to wait months if you need a surgery for example.\nI think immigrants should hold a strike for a month and see how Canada will function.

The employment reservoir of Germany ist huge. 3Mio in so called Arbeitslosengeld/Unemployment salary and another +4 Mio in so called Bürgergeld/Migration salary. Tendency is further increasing. Once this number passes the million 10 mark something will change.

Not anti-immigration, just not wanting record levels of immigration and the huge surge in temporary foreign workers. Young people cannot find jobs as foreign workers are given the jobs. No one can afford housing and there is little supply and our healthcare is overloaded with the dramatic increase in population.
