I don't understand why people do not put the blame where it belongs - on Trudeau. He is the one that has created this entire crisis by purposely continuing to allow huge numbers of immigrants, half a million to million a year!! People do not see that Trudeau is doing this on purpose to undermine our Canadian culture and country. He wants to destabilize the middle class because he knows that's where the power lies in terms of informed voting. He needs to be removed AS.A.P. before Canada is destroyed completely.

What people don't understand is that if the U.S. didn't ruin these migrants's countries, there would be no need for them to come here. The reason why the democrats allowed them to come into this country is to pass a bill to allow them to vote for the democrats. It doesn't matter who's in office, the both dems and reps are puppets of AIPAC and Israel. Netanyahu said that America is the golden calf and we will suck it dry and make it a welfare state.

A Canadian citizen of British roots will come to you in 2024 complaining about immigration that made his life miserable.. forgetting that his ancestors were immigrants themselves 200 yrs ago. Listen I feel for migrants and refugees, but it’s also not the job of other countries to take them on. Most countries are already struggling to provide for their own people. This is why I understand why leaders like Trump say he wants to send back illegal immigrants. So much resources have to provided to refugees and migrants. It’s important for people to also push back and reform their own countries. If they are seeking refuge due to circumstances beyond any control, then it’s somewhat understandable…however, many factors need to be considered before taking them on. All country’s citizens deserve the priority first. So many countries are struggling and then are expected to provide for illegal immigrants/migrants :( it’s not fair to these countries.

Last time I checked Mexicans can’t enter without a visa Canada your material is very wrong on that. I’m not understanding your statement that people are coming by bus from Canada to the US. They will get stopped at the border and be asked for documents to enter- I’m not understanding the bus schemes you are talking about! Can you explain to us how are they crossing the border with the bus? Generally if you cross the territory of another country none can stop you from using the transportation available in that country the drivers are not in the wrong here and are not obligated to check the passengers for a visa. Yes, you might get away with a year or 2 of not paying rent, but at some point, you'll get evicted, and your name will be on the Openroom website, how TF then you'll get a landlord to accept your application then ? They're welfare shopping and Vice is ignoring the root cause; illegal immigration. They just want a better life, and I understand that, but they keep backing corrupt governments and religion. And they are refugees from their own countries because those countries can't manage themselves. If my life was at risk and/or I couldn’t go from poor to at least middle class in my home country, I would leave too. The problem is that people don’t understand that Canada is a federation. There needs to be coordination between the federal government and the provinces. Canada lets people in, provinces provide the services. Canada doesn’t build housing, provinces and municipalities do. Canada doesn’t build schools. Canada doesn’t build hospitals. This is a federation and until people understand the country they live in, they will never solve all the challenges ahead. Just like Quebec, all provinces should negotiate with the federal government to provide immigration permits according to their needs. The more Ottawa centralises everything, the bigger the problem will become.

I don’t understand what’s the problem if you let everyone migrate to where they want too. It’s just lines on a map that separate us, think back a couple 100 years people could go basically anywhere they wanted.

Bernhard needs to perform an in depth examination into the push/pull factors associated with migration. He needs to be more objective in his analysis of the impact of immigration and its relationship to public and private services. Even though his organization does a decent job of integrating immigrants, their limited focus on the principles that attract people and understand that the services available are limited instead of blaming policies that are decades old.

I understand the concern, but asking for asylum does not guarantee you to stay in Canada. Now, in marine transportation, if stoaways/crew members fleet or ask for asylum the marine transportation has to pay fees and is considered responsible for them ... its up to the company to make sure this does not happen... regardless of laws people will do this

My understanding is that people are being played upon again, in-fact the real threat is de-dollorization, about which nobody talks much. As noticed recently through the news, manufacturing is returning back to West from China which obviously will demand skilled labour. Dollar loosing it's value (due to de-dollarization) and once immigrants starts leaving Canada, this will add on to the trouble exponentially, leaving Canada unattractive....When I say, skilled labour, then I mean the real working guys, not the cozy European immigrants. These are my understandings...Lets see how it goes, I am eager to see.

A Sri Lankan who always gets misidentified as Indian reading the comments here. ? I moved here with the genuine purpose of studying for my LLM, after considering several countries. I was offered a scholarship from my university (a top ranking public university) I know several of my Indian colleagues who came to study & now work in universities & firms. I know educated people who came here from SL, India & other South Asian countries who came to study with the genuine purpose of studying & now pursuing PhDs here & elsewhere. I understand how concerned the whole immigration issue is for Canadians & new commers like us. I’ve always loved to study in Canada & now that I’m here just to see all these negative sides is truly heartbreaking. I was able to secure a decent apartment & decent job (both me & my husband)& so are my friends & colleagues. I love Canada & means no harm. I’d love to use my knowledge & serve developing countries like mine one day. I kindly request anyone reading my comment, please don’t judge. There’re people who came here to study & love to contribute their knowledge & skills to the world. Thank you.

There isn’t much to understand. It’s not a rocket science. Immigration used to be a driver of the work force. I don’t understand this “reporting”. If I go to Chinatown and become enraged after seeing majority Chinese population I’d say something is wrong with me. Go to a small town in Alberta, Manitoba etc you’ll see majority white people. People in the comments keep saying “Canadian” what is a Canadian. What values do born Canadians (such as myself with Pakistani parents) that other ethnicities don’t have which makes them unCanadian? All you have to do is put 2 and 2 together. Look at what's happening around the world. We're not the only country allowing millions of people in, and we're not the only country embracing socialism.
