I was misdiagnosed for year and could have died when I went to the emergency room. I needed surgery and was told my wait would be two years. Then, when I went to Serbia to have life-saving surgery, the government would not refund the cost, because they decided it was not an emergency—I “could have survived with a catheter”. The doctors in Canada are kind and lovely people, but they are just overworked. The system is completely broken. I’ve been telling all my European friends who are thinking of immigrating to Canada to stay far away. Is there a single government service in Canada that is functioning well?

2 Words HOUSING BUBBLE. Remember that for the last 5 years we have been warned that the housing bubble will burst. The housing bubble is too big to pop. The governments will continue to prop it up because they & their donors personally profit from it + voters won't accept a depression that would cause a price correction. Just get used to renting & waiting to inherit from parents. Get used to increased social problems associated with the widening wealth gap.

I'm 36 born and raised Canadian and if I were able to get out of this country I would... I was rushed to the hospital with congestive heart problems not as far as failure but definitely issues and I waited over 14 hours in the waiting room. I came here as an international student, back then you could only get your PR if you studied at an accredited university, not a career college. Back then skilled workers were required, and that is how you were able to get a PR. Canada has changed so much, multicultural has left and more and more there are two cultures dominating. I came here because I use to visit for our annual holidays then decide I liked the culture and wanted to study here. The landscape has shifted , Canadians will soon be the minority and that is not the Canada I want to be paying taxes in. \nThere are always protesters waving foreign flags demanding that the government help their families, love ones in another country, meanwhile Canadians here are loosing their homes , can't afford food, basic life necessities and living in tents. Charity should start at home first.\nResponsible tax payers cannot afford to have kids, why because the taxes we pay are too high, if we're struggling to survive why would we subject a child into this world to experience the same. However, there are millions of dollars in incentives for people who never paid in to come to Canada with their extended family members who are dependent on government support, that we the taxpayers have to finance. The aging population could be address if the affordability could be address for citizens living here and PAYING taxes. If the government wants to bring in aging populations who never worked in Canada, their families should be funding their living here including healthcare, not taxpayers. Invest in your people first , help Canadians become more skilled to fill positions that there are shortages, lower taxes to allow Canadians to have said families and replenish the population , these are the people who would always put Canada first.

Twenty years ago the average IQ was 100 in Canada. Today it is 90 and trending down. Canada has become a tax farm for increasingly authoritarian governments at all levels to harvest as they please to enrich themselves and keep an iron fisted hold on power. If Canada was the 51st state of the U.S.A. it would be the poorest state, with the highest taxes, the largest debt and the lowest GDP. My advice to young people? GET OUT WHLE YOU CAN!

My opinion is to stop the migration of international students entering into the country and focus on bringing in skilled foreign workers, for industries that have a skill shortage such as Healthcare - Nurses, Doctors, Pharmacists etc. Yes, the baby boomers are getting old and we need nurses, doctors and pharmacist to help and care for them. Having a business that was operating within the confines of some of these schools, the students would enroll in Business courses, arts etc and after graduating become truck drivers. The Trudeau government has been letting us down since elected, and always has a great plan but is poorly implemented from this to the stupid carbon Tax. Trudeau needs to go!

Until 2020 (pandemic), most lifelong Canadians would have proudly & quickly said Canada is a great place. For multiple generations (young & old). It still is in many ways. But like all countries, a bunch of things have made life more difficult lately. \n \nDuring the COVID lockdowns, many people went wild wanting to buy a house (urban & rural). Increasing demand and rising prices. Not long after, inflation caused mortgage rates especially to rise. Rent costs soared too. People interested in working in hospitals declined. Less doctors etc.. \n \nSimultaneously in Canada, the number of people coming by air, land and boat to claim asylum skyrocketed. For example, in 2023 alone, in just one region (Central Canada) around 400 people arrived per day (on average). Ditto for other populated provinces. Also the number of international students SKYROCKETED too. In 2023, averaging around 2,000 per day across Canada. Years 2021 and 2022 had high #s too. \n \nThe majority trying to migrate to Canada recently have been from South Asia. And it's become extremely obvious to Canadians. Even those that are very used to much diversity & many cultures. Plus neighborhoods now know that international students are using schooling as a 'back door' ticket to come to Canada for permanent residency. No one says it in public amongst strangers, but everyone knows because they've witnessed the extreme PR frenzy firsthand by now. To many Canadians it has felt like a tidal wave that has reached all cities and small towns, with a post secondary school. This extreme situation never existed prior to 4 years ago.\n \nHospitals have been hit with many wanting free healthcare. Less doctors/nurses etc., means greater waiting times. Plus a VERY SEVERE HOUSING CRISIS has occurred in many western countries including in Canada. In ways not seen in people's lifetimes. And if you do find a place to live its quite expensive. Including small basement rooms. \n \nNow westerners want the money greedy agents (pseudo smugglers) in other countries to stop marketing & LYING to their own people about access to PR or citizenship … or accommodation/jobs … being easy (to get). And for any greedy people living in western countries to be ashamed of themselves if they're hurting students. Anyone doing things to make $ off of people's PR desires. At best, there is a 25% chance of gaining PR (better odds if you are masters/medicine etc.). \n \nNot all players across the board have acted honestly over the years, i.e. contract marriages (IELTS spouse), anchor babies, fraud, false asylum claims. Canada has asked the India government to prevent “ghost consulting”. The new PRIVATE (non-public) colleges are being investigated (including looking for strong oversea ties). \n \nCanadians are meeting students who told Canada they have enough $, but it turns out they borrowed it (some borrowed it for the application process only). Canadian food banks and other CHARITY services have been recklessly advertised on YouTube (by India students in Indian language). Many transit services have launched stricter rules, i.e. lost monthly bus passes registered in your name are now never replaced (unlike before). \n \nThen this year throw in all the Palestinian vs Israeli angry protests happening regularly in cities. Plus the Sikh vs Hindu violence/extortion mostly happening in Ontario and British Columbia. Plus the Canadian government also recently launched investigations in regards to foreign interference in Canadian elections. All stemming from Asia continent. Hate crimes have gone from rare to occasional (primarily South Asians against South Asians). \n \nCanadians are so so so so so not used to all this. So many, who have embraced multi-culturalism and immigration for decades are now VERY worried and fearful (due to all of the above). And all are praying it doesn't turn into great anger (like in the USA). \n \nCanadians want multi-culturism to succeed … and for all people (including immigrants) to be okay. Everyone I know is VERY happy with Canada Immigration's recent changes (reductions & investigations). Including multi-generational long-term Asian-Canadians where many have been the most upset (by all of this).

Canadians becoming poorer isn't because of immigration, it's inflation and your government printing more money than it ever did. What BS. Canadian Government just reduced the number of student visas to deal with skyrocketing housing demand. If people were returning in large numbers there would be no need to reduce the visas. You are presenting 17% returns as 97%.

we need to take into considerations, these opinions are from a few people... Immigration is just 1 factor that affects services and housing provided by the government. But in all reality a lot of this is more politics, business. If the government supplied affordable housing (apartments with 1000 units at affordable rates with a low/medium standard) and a person had the choice to rent from subsidized program or an investors condo (mid/high standard), than investors renting their units would have a base rental price to compete with, giving the government control (hopefully in the interest to the majority). For some nations Canada turned into nightmare by spoof call attack. Many people died or killed. I worked at a tax office in Burnaby BC where the owner is Chinese and whom claimed millionaires from China who were non residents (still actually living in China), and claimed no income alrhough they wee multi millionaires and claiming child tax and GST cheques and he would save them for the 6 months until they came back into the country and then would come pick up rheir months worth of cheques... He also made me upload the Canadian immigration exam that included all the answers to hand out to the millionaires who were just here to buy up residential properties and screw over Canadians! That is just one tax office there are tons doing this and the government knows it and does nothing to help homeless citizens!!! I will never be able to afford a home and I am not drug addicted and I work full time in a white collar job!

First of all you took 3 years to do this extremely limited investigation that doesn't even begin scratch the surface. Your interviews are selective and show only a certain problems. If you truly investigated, you would have looked at government programs at ALL LEVELS of government. The rules and restrictions that are applied like, healthcare, CPP, Disabilities both mental and physical, welfare, and the host of other programs that for most part create and maintain poverty and are nothing more that government fraud and covered up at all government levels. As a one time homeless and then advocate for homelessness, I can tell you first hand that money destined for these programs is often gobbled up by faux do goods who actually pocket this funds for themselves.

It is very interesting to observe how demographics have changed over the decades.When I first arrived in Canada in 1972 (51 years ago), the Indians were almost invisible, it would be an extraordinary sight to see one. Now, they are all over the place and there is no housing by the way. But yes, it's the student visas that have saturated the system and now the inept government is scrambling to find solutions to the housing problem that has ballooned. I get CPP and old age pension but have to continue working due to the high cost of living, it is ridiculous.

BC changed their labour laws to where an employer only has to give 2 hours of paid work in a day and they call that a job. If employers would get the same kick backs and perks for hiring Canadians then there wouldn't be a need for hiring temporary foreign workers and the illegal immigrants and providing them with housing that Canadians, especially veterans, don't get. Plus the federal government allows China to buy Canadian businesses and all they have to hire is 1 Canadian and after that they can bring in all the Chinese workers they want. Labour shortages are nowhere near the levels that the current government would lead you to believe. It's more about buying votes for this same government. Every city in the country is incredibly overpopulated causing major issues from housing to inflation. Canada will never be the same again.

WHEN THE FOREIGN WORKER PROGRAM, WAS FOR UNSKILLED JOBS!\n\nDID THE PRICE OF MEAT GO DOWN, NO! DID YOUR HOUSEHOLD DEBT GO DOWN, NO IN FACT IT WENT UP AND WITH THE CARBON TAXES, THE COSTS HAVE TRIPLED, HAS YOUR WAGES MATCHED THE COST OF LIVING, NO IT HASN'T, IN FACT IT HASN'T REACHED THE LEVELS, NEEDED TO BREAK EVEN!!!\n\nBRINGING IN MORE IMMIGRATION, IS NOT THE ANSWER!!! \n\nLIFTING UP PEOPLE OUT OF POVERTY AND STOPPING ABORTIONS, WILL HELP INCREASE THE POPULATION AND PUT PEOPLE BACK TO WORK, EVEN AT MINIMUM WAGES!!! \n\nWHICH ARE AT $15 DOLLARS PER HOUR, IF THE GOVERNMENT STOPPED STEALING THE OVERTIME WAGES, IT WOULD HELP PEOPLE OUT OF POVERTY, THAT MUCH FASTER, WITH A SENCE OF PRIDE!!!

Their was never a labour shortage but now they did bring in a excessive amount if people where their is now a work shortage and companies are hiring these immigrants at a cut rate just to fill the position because sure you may have to hire 2 or 3 too replace the position their taking but the government will give you tax breaks on hiring them and you onkt have to pay them a third of what you would have paid a actual canadian. Not onky that the government will actually force you to hire a certain number of them just too put canadians out of work

Teaching children about the drag queen lifestyle in Canada and so on. When you have to move your whole family thousands of miles away in another to get away from all this craziness in Canada. Can we do that in Canada without getting criticized for it ? NO ! Because the Trudeau Liberal government is anti-Christianity bigots. Some Canadians want to also leave…… taxes and quality of affordable living working and life balance…..spent early 20s to early 50s working 60-80 hrs per week and only now realized that all that hard work hasn’t paid off enough for early retirement or a wealthy retirement. I met some of these people in Thailand after COVID. There was a small group of Chinese who kept to themselves at our hostel. One day I overheard them in Chinese repeatedly talking about my country Mexico which got me to talk with them. They were quite happy to learn I could speak Chinese but more excited to learn I was from Mexico. They started asking me a bunch of questions about crossing the border into the US to which I bluntly told them I had no idea about and discouraged it. I asked where they got these crazy ideas from and they said that people were posting videos and tutorials of how to cross into the US online. The Chinese government hard handed approach to COVID was what made them leave. They wanted to go both for the freedom and economic benefits but they had a very naive and overly optimistic view of the US. They saw the high wages US workers were making but had no idea as to the incredibly high living costs associated with living there. I tried explaining that there was a housing shortage and that their expectations for life in the US would set them for disappointment but they either didn't believe me or brushed off my criticism. I also tried encouraging them to go to German or Australia instead (places which I feel would be better and easier for them to enter) but they seemed dead set on just going to the US. Unfortunately I don't know where they are now as Wechat is blindly and constantly blocking and deleting accounts in SE Asia without reason......................
