PRESIDENT OBAMA's VISIT TO MOSQUE.\nHE WROTE ON HIS TIMELINE.\nToday, I had the privilege of visiting the Islamic Society of Baltimore, a mosque that serves thousands of Muslim\nAmerican families. Like houses of worship across our country, it's a place where neighbors come together to pray, a school\nwhere students learn, and a health clinic where volunteers serve their community. My visit was a chance to celebrate the\ncontributions that Muslim Americans make to our country every day and to reaffirm the founding ideals that keep our nation strong, including the freedom of religion.\nGenerations of Muslim Americans have helped build our country as farmers, merchants and workers on Henry Ford's assembly line. They're the teachers who inspire our kids, and the nurses and doctors whom we trust with our health. They're scientists who win Nobel Prizes and young entrepreneurs creating new technologies. They're the champions we cheer for – from Muhammad Ali to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. They're the police and firefighters who keep us safe, and the men and women in uniform who have fought and bled and died for our freedom.\nRight now, though, many Muslim Americans are worried because threats and harassment against their community, their families and their children are on the rise. But we are one American family, and an attack on one faith is an attack on all our faiths. When any religious group is targeted, we all have a responsibility to speak up. We need to reject any politics that targets people because of race or religion. At a time when others are trying to divide us along religious lines, we have to\nreaffirm that most fundamental truth – that we are all God's children, all born equal with inherent dignity.\nI want every Muslim American who may be wondering where they fit in to know that you're right where you belong - right\nhere, because you're part of America, too. You are not Muslim or American. You are Muslim AND American. I want every American to know that Muslim communities are standing up for peace and justice as well. That's the spirit I felt on my visit today. And I'm absolutely confident that if we stay true to the values and ideals that bind us as one people, we're going to\nremain strong and united.

What i'm hearing is 1 muslims are peaceful 2 women are brainwashed (easily done ) 3 don't hate muslims because of jihadists ......All lies muslims do not simulate in society , muslim women have a lot of freedoms now but when sharia law takes over they can kiss a lot freedom goodbye (idiots) , all jihadists are muslim . think of it this way there are no other religions in saudia arabia , go there and try to open a christian church . I can see westerners being freaked out by the women who cover their face. I myself was like wtf when I seen a women with covered face for the first time back in northern Virginia, and I am from Ethiopia - a country that has a big Muslim population, more than 30%. We live among Muslims peacefully, because we respect our differences, but the ones back home do not really cover their face so I was not used to it. Really we should do better than creating differences, there is no better race or religion, all humans are the same, we all practice the 7 deadly sins religiously. and all the people commenting saying they hate Muslim and what it stand for, what religion are you because the Bible teaches compassion, it does not say to hate what you don't understand.

People real Islam is not a religion of peace! Read the Koran and you will see! It's true that most Muslims are peaceful,but most Muslims like Christians follow the traditions of their Mosque or Church but do not follow the full letter of the Koran or Bible. True Koran believing Muslims who follow the full letter of the word of the Koran are violent and are not tolerant of other religions. they are a threat to any civilized society! Wake up people this radical evil religion will do nothing but cause pain and suffering to any country who tolerates it! Christianity is a religion of love and peace,a religion who's member are full of a holy,righteous spirit and compassion for their fellow man. A religion that is freely given and freely received and a religion to never be forced on another human being! We as a civilized people must never bow down to evil, even if our evil government try to force us to . We must all stay true and firm to our God and our brothers in Christ no matter what the cost! The issue is islam, not all muslims. I understand the Islam Religion I read the Quran , Mohammad was a Nut case nothing more .I see Muslims asking for more than the people of Canada gets they want the government to fund Islamic centers and schools while the government does not do this for any other religion . what we need is an enlightment movement with islam where the individual determines whats best for themselves rather than these literal interpretations. In the U.S. at my school many of the 3rd generation muslim kids my age are becoming integrated. Girls wear hats that conceal their hair and long sleeves that fit within their religions dress code instead of the burka and young men are very open to other people ideas such as alchohol use. The problem is when families control their children, as in any case really, and are less than open to change. As a son of an immigrant the most important step with integration is the elimination of your cultural identity, you leave your values in your own country because you are no longer in an enviorment where your opinion matters or is relevant. If muslims could adjust/conform their rules to fit the conscripts of western civilization everything would be dandy. Adapt to fit the society that you move into, dont try to reform society to better suit yourself expecially when your a foriegner.

The best way to solve this problem is through education. Education is like a lighthouse that burns through the fog of religious rhetoric. As muslim people (and people of any religion, for that matter) become better educated, the grip of religion weakens and eventually disappears. It may take a few generations. I'm optimistic that Canada can beat this problem without violence.

Excellent interviews.Thank you for this video clip.\nI find the whole responsibility for the permanent tension most Canadians feel when around these immigrants belongs to the leaders of this country, similar to the European Union and somewhere else in Western civilization, where the political leaders decide on such an important matter without consulting the citizens of their own countries who ultimately have to rub shoulders with these people of such a different religion and education than their own.. Solution-citizens of these countries need to find the courage and clarity to express their disagreements and let their leaders know what they feel, and perhaps remind them who put them in power.

The niqab looks ridiculous.  It looks like what a bank robber or someone with a facial defect would wear.  The hijab should not be mandatory either.   Even the Quaran is not specific about the modest attire it prescribes (for both sexes).  There is too much pressure for Muslim women to put on this stupid attire.   It's pathetic that Muslims have to fear speaking out to even mildly criticize their religion and truly horrifying that most Muslims actually support killing people for leaving the religion.
