While your reasons for moving are very understandable and commendable, I also get a feeling of hopelessness when I hear that western countries are becoming hostile environments for practicing Muslims. I moved to Europe from Pakistan and I am constantly in a conundrum of whether I would want to settle here permanently. On one hand, the cultural differences here means that I will probably always feel like an outsider in this society and will always have to work harder to be able to practice my religion freely and to find a good community around me. On the other hand, because of Pakistan's economic situation, going back means constantly living under the threat of financial insecurity and a plethora of other problems such as a corrupt justice system, a weak passport etc. Not to even take into account that the average Pakistani society is just Muslim by name and not in actual practice. So it feels like there isn't any clear options and you just have to weigh the pros and cons of each situation. But I would warn you that while it's easy to say that you want to live in a Muslim country, the reality is hardly as idyllic. Its easy to play the azan in a mall but it's difficult to create a society that actually adheres to and values Islamic principles, and in Pakistan's case I don't think such a society exists. You would also find that many Muslim countries' leaderships have supported tyrannical regimes and nobody's hands are actually clean. It's a complicated decision but I hope you find a situation that works for your family.

You mentioned, Halal, food access, you live in the GTA, which has the greatest amount of Halal food access available. And there’s a fair amount of masks. Think of the people that live in areas where there are no mosques and they have to drive 3040 minutes to get to a Mosque or they have to find a Hello butcher in the city or in the country somewhere because there’s no hello restaurants or groceries where they are. You guys live in a great Muslim area in Canada but I totally understand why you wanna move and have that environment around you 24 seven.

From a 12 year old girl, who wanted to explore London, study in UK and constant and full heartedly prayers... I came to UK when I was 27... But I had to face a new me here.. after my course completion, where I stand now, and still having the opportunity to continue here . I decided to choose a middle eastern country .. most importantly for my Imaan and my child's good upbringing. Though I get questioned from everyone around here for choosing to leave this country, I know what I want.. and I need what I seek.. The other thing my girl started to question some topics they have been receiving at school and it is a constant battle for me to keep explaining to her the right and wrong. More over she is listening for now but not sure for future and this scares me.\nAs you said praying and being a practicing Muslim is difficult here as well. We are Turks but do not have Turkish nationality but when we go for religious holidays in Istanbul I feel completely different, it just feels like I have to live there near the mosque. My inner me begging me when we are in Istanbul in the old part of the city to stay there forever. \nI really know what you feel and want. I am looking for Muslim countries where possible we can move BUT unfortunately I made the conclusion that there is not a place even in a Muslim land that we can live the way of peaceful practicing and being a Muslim what we want to be. \nJust advise be careful with the Arab world, other than that if you look at Türkiye I would say do your research really well, not in every town there you can live your religion. It is a Muslim country, alhamdullilah, although there is a major class of citizen coming up here who'd like it to be more 'open minded' like the West. May Allah protect us from that day. I would suggest that you move to Saudi Arabia, preferably into or around Makkah or Madinah. I believe that these two are the best cities in the world for Muslims. Imagine saying your five daily prayers in Masjid-e-Haraam or Masjid-e-Nabawi! You kids could study there and grow up speaking and understanding Arabic like Arabs. Imagine the understanding and appreciation they'd have of the Quran and Hadith moreover, they'd be able to reap benefits from the work of all major scholars. InshaaAllah. BUT, on the other hand, you guys are Allah's workers there in Canada. You could do dawah, spread Allah's word (you're doing that beautifully already). You'd be doing what the messengers of Allah did. Think of it this way, if you leave, there'll be one less family supporting Palestine and the Islamic way of life in Canada. Maybe, Allah wants someone like you to represent Him there. Allahu Aalam. Immigrants flee their home countries because they don’t offer a good way of life. Then turn around and want to recreate the same environment in the new country. Sorry if that’s the way you want to live, go back to where you came from.

I am Canadian. I love my country. I wouldn't move anywhere else. We have our problems sure, but all counties do. Move somewhere else and trade one set of problems for another, maybe worse. In this modern age of social media, bellyaching and victim hood are all the rage. A bit of hard times and they want to quit. In the early 80s the interest rate was around 21%, that was much worse than today.

you should try Sri Lanka... its a multi cultural country. And the people around are very kind and its easy to blend in cuz there's no discrimination at all! most foods are halal also cuz the muslim population is big, many restaurants are run by muslims and there are many girls schools for muslims including religious studies... u cn find musjids in every city/town... and again, the people are so flexible. as a muslim in sri lanka, im so glad im sri lankan cuz i love the people in this country, cuz no matter what, all of us have each other's backs.. <3

Interesting about the islamic atmosphere, I live in England and there are so many Muslims around me, I even hear they calling to pray once a day but I don't see a Christian atmosphere even though it's said to be a protestant country but for sure there's a Christian atmosphere back home in Brazil.\n\nI absolutely love living in Europe (Ireland and England) but I do miss this atmosphere from Brazil and my culture that 1000% I want my kids to have.\n\nI have the exact same opinion about things that are being taught at school that goes against my believes and i know many Christian parents are making the change to homeschooling and i might do the same when it's my turn.

As salamu alaikum, may Allah guides you to the best decision and place for your family and use you in the goodness whatever wherever and accept your good deeds ameeen ?\nJust to not be shocked some of your reasonable reasons for looking for more Islamic environment are not available as you wish in lot of Islamic countries.\nOf course there's more daily Islamic things that people in these countries take for granted while Muslims in western countries suffer to get/live and though the gap in cultures is shrinking, which should be a good thing in its principle, but with time of more fetan it sometimes means faster spread of fetan between countries to find some of what your suffering from is there also but maybe alhamdullelah still not in same pace or widness.\nIt hurts do much being in countries whose governments support obviously the wrong side, just keeping mind it's hurting (regardless now of whether hurts more/same/less) when you are in some Islamic countries and not free to express your opinions freely.\nIt's worth mentioning that moving while kids are not yet old enough to get familiar with anti-islamic things around is better in timing.\nOne suggestion that I'm not sure whether is affordable or time wise is good or not or whether you've gone this all the way of trying or not is to continue living in Canada with more surroundings of people of similar core values (by the way not all of whom I mean have to be Muslims, lot of non-Muslims are conservative about education and society pushing their kids to ideas and behaviors against their core values) if you've tried this already and even tried moving within Canada for that purpose and didn't work, then may Allah help you to go for the best.

My family moved 22 years ago from Mumbai to Toronto…while the struggles said on your channel are real, there are also perks which I feel like you didn’t get to experience. If people have good jobs, stable family life then DON’T move…culture shock is huge that people moving from India don’t consider, just by wearing and eating western food doesn’t make you western! \nThere are sacrifices to be expected which you don’t realized as your great grandparents or grandparents might have made when they started out! \nMoving to another country is never easy, unless you’re loaded with $$$. People in India are lazy as they have people working for them and don’t realize how difficult it is living outside of that lifestyle (not everyone in India can afford housekeepers, cleaners). Being independent and doing things on your own has its own positive (just need to figure it out). \n\nI have worked in healthcare for 16 years and let me tell you…social system works better as everyone gets the health service without being judged about $$. Healthcare is based on priority around the world but people don’t understand this as they feel like their problem should be attended first no matter what! \nNot all drugs are legal in Canada, marijuana is legal though with acceptable limits…you probably were misinformed about drugs! Teach your kids about right /wrong when it comes to drugs, smoking, alcohol and that’s the best you can do! I know people who live in India and do all that which you mentioned you were worried about for your kids. \n\nWhat you experienced was a classic case of culture shock and your expectations didn’t match the reality! Moving away from family, changing lifestyle and being responsible adult (doing things on your own rather than relying on workers) is difficult but doesn’t make the country bad that have you an opportunity to settle! Don’t take things for granted even while you live in India…appreciate the effort that goes into everything- keeping roads clean, people working hard, etc. \n\nBest advice I can give to those considering moving to any foreign country is: Keep an open mind, be ready to work hard and visit the country you want to move to before you make the grave decision of uprooting everything! Things usually turn around and get better after 5 years mark- focus on upgrading your education if you have a basic degree from India (even you know how competitive things are in India, so how can western world not be!)\n\nBeing vegetarian- things are tough when it comes to food but living in Toronto has never been an issue. Even people living in India avoid outside food due to hygiene reason which is not a problem in Canada as food inspection is pretty strict (having worked with ministry of health). \nCities like Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, etc has variety of food options (including veg)…just have to be really open to trying other cultural food (Asian, Mediterranean, Italian,Mexican, etc). My parents are strict vegetarians and have never truly struggled when they are out. \n\nCost of living is definitely higher as the standard living is higher compared to India. Education (until grade 12) and healthcare are free (in reality, you pay tax for it), you get pension when you retire (based on your contributions and type of jobs you had)…you failed to navigate the system and I will say having family around is why you didn’t take opportunity to explore and learn on your own. \n\nPlease don’t come to Canada and make life difficult for other Indians who choose to willingly accept the culture and lifestyle here after going through this hardship- cost of living and housing has gone up dramatically in major cities because of immigration influx! If you’re serious about moving and putting up, only then move! Otherwise all the best for your future endeavours!

In my teens, early 20s (early 00's) i dreamed of emigrating to Canada and Toronto. It had beautiful nature, was clean, safe, nice people and a great standard of living. But seeing it now especially the big cities is really sad. Many countries have had major turn arounds (Colombia for instance) and hopefully Canada can get back to being a great place again. Housing is very cheap for those that bought and/or rented and stayed 15+ years ago. Rent controls keep rents cheap (for them) and people in place as they do not want to move and take a higher rent and/or higher mortgage payment. This hides the problem until you find yourself evicted , break up or some event forces you into the housing market and then you get clapped.\n\nThis is an issue around the world in most developed countries. This is because the rich have optimized the system. Basically if you compare the world economy to a game of Monopoly. Being a young person is like joining the game with your $200 of start money and going against the winning player that owns all the properties and basically won but has not yet driven everyone to bankrupt or a rage quit! \n\nRich people are finding the way to underdeveloped countries to take safe haven from the mess they caused, only to start the cycle all over again driving up land prices in placed like Mexico. We have an issue when the Canadian, Australian etc dream is to buy property, get renters and move to central / south America.

Like the U.S., most Canadians consider themselves compassionate liberals and thus feel obligated to vote for said, compassionate liberal politicians. The problem is, for Canada and the U.S., these compassionate liberal politicians don't know how to run the nation's economy except to run it further into the ground. In my province healthcare is ostensibly nonexistent. Wait times at ER's are well over 12 hours and you're often directed to go home without ever seeing a doctor. \nThere is an extreme deficit of doctors. I've been waiting 6 years for one and there are people who have waited much longer with no relief in sight. \nHousing is unaffordable. A decent (nothing special) one bedroom 1 bath apartment is around 1600 a month and this is a largely rural province, not a metropolitan city. \nHomes are being bought as fast as they go on the market at extremely inflated prices by people moving here to escape the more populated provinces. This has raised property taxes by 20% in the last 2 years.\nThe economy is in shambles. Homelessness is exploding and the government seems uninterested in fixing it in any realistic or helpful way.\nFederal and provincial income taxes are nearly 50% of your income (44% for me and a bit more for my wife). So, what money you do make you get to keep a little more than half.\nElectricity is about 3 times what it is in the US and the rate here is increasing by 29% over the next 3 years.\nGroceries are unreasonably expensive and becoming more pricey by the day. Provincial sales tax is 15% on top of those groceries as well. \nThis is a short list of a few of the more glaring issues but there are far more. I grew up in Canada from age 15 years old, and somehow, at age 18, I became a chef . Life was easy and lovely in montreal, used to make $400 a week, pay rent 600 a month, and had very simple and happy life in montreal, then I endup up in montreal Casino ,lost all my savings and total of 120k credit card, long story short moved to Melbourne Australia 2012 again my addiction cost me another 150k of my first 5 years working here making around 1000k a week ,at the start of 2018 stop gambling and try to recovery from mental ,emotional and financial of my ediction, now I save up 250k Australians and have roof over my head and 3 little kid's, not happy as montreal but I guess was good call ,to get out and try new country, I'm not as happy as montreal because love canada and montreal specialy, but boy my beloved country not doing so good

I live in Brazil and we have almost all these issues. Most of these problems happens because of systemic questions in all the country around the world, citys planning for cars, real estate market completely dominated for super riches and Great fortunes operating without any kind of control. Canada still is one of the best countries to live.

as a Canadian who is highly educated and, your list is totally on point. I was born and raised here, and at 40yo I would say that leaving has been on my mind for the past 5+ years and will be the likely scenario for me once my grandparents are no longer around. If it weren't for them, I would have left years ago. The two primary drivers for me are job opportunities and the government. One thing I will correct is the wages you presented. The vast majority of Canadians, regardless of whether they were born here or not, do NOT make 6 figures and even the high 5 figures is not as common as people like to think. I have been turned down for work because of being over-qualified more times than not and now struggle on less than 50K/yr with 2 jobs. Just trying to get a part time gig to supplement is a problem despite my decades of experience. As someone who is single, one income just does not cut it here no matter how frugal or minimalist your life is. I can't imagine what its like for those with families. Plain and simple, this country, like many, is failing.

Canada is a great country. Many rich countries around the world have their issues. Population here is booming. If you want to leave for greener pastures good for you. I can see that most of your video was centered around Toronto (or Ontario). Other provinces have other, or additional problems. I feel sad to see immigrants coming to Quebec and being forced to send their kids to french school even if they speak english at home. 99% of jobs require knowledge of french. I feel sad for people coming from countries where the only 2nd language they know is english, but somehow I see them trying.

This is mostly the marginal explanation. What is actually causing the problems in Canada is PRECISELY the expectations of a high standard of living absolutely everyone has, including brand new immigrants. Who as if they were owed a palace immediately begin complaining about the work they have to do and the fact they're not immediately appointed the king of Canada. To put simply, we have an incredibly spoiled population, a population that expects low prices for everything and has a terrible productivity overall and does not wish to work in the kinds of jobs that every economy needs in order to fuel everything else. Food production is the so-called inceptive value. The more food you produce, the more people can consume it, and this in turn flows through the economy to enable all the other kinds of economic activity. We have to bring in hundreds of thousands of temporary foreign workers from Mexico just to be able to harvest. In the past, Canada allowed immigration from all over the world of people who were mostly poor, refugees, and those desperate for a new life. They worked all the time doing every kind of imaginable job in every kind of condition. They built this country with their perseverance and hard work. Anyone has taken one or two steps back to look at the big picture and noticed similar economic turns in most Western countries combined with increasing taxes and laws making renting out flats and houses if you are an owner very difficult? Prince Faisal is more than a little correct. The very idea that other countries should take in the Palestinians is the same argument used by Hitler. Palestine has been around for thousands of years and I see zero reason the children should be moved so Israel can get the oil and gas plus the gold mine recently found. ***National Post***\nMuslim leaders should've condemned Hamas instead of fomenting hate\nIf they had spoken out against terrorism, their advocacy of the Palestinian cause would carry much more weight. \n\nPart of the reason we are seeing division, hatred and unrest in the streets of Montreal, Toronto and other communities across Canada is due to the collective failure of Muslim leaders, in Canada and around the world, to condemn the despicable Oct. 7 terror attack by Hamas on Israeli civilians. \n\nIt was a horrific and cowardly attack by a terrorist group — not by all Palestinians, Arabs or the wider Muslim community. It should have been condemned and contained immediately. Muslims who pride themselves as followers of a peaceful religion should have empathized and consoled the grieving Jews. \n\nThere was a lot of time to do this. There was a lengthy delay between the attack and Israel’s ground offensive in Gaza. Instead of taking this time to condemn Hamas’s slaughter, Arab and Muslim politicians and government leaders promoted anti-Jewish hate to shore up their political support. This is nothing less than encouraging antisemitism. \n\nMuslim political and religious leaders, barring rare exceptions, chose to contextualize, equivocate and, in most cases, justify Hamas’s barbarity. What we have, as a result, is widespread hate bordering on violence in Canada — a country where communities have historically lived side-by-side in peace. \n\nThe situation got worse due to the statements made by community leaders like Amira Elghawaby, Canada’s special representative on combating Islamophobia, who did not hide her partisan and divisive outlook by clearly siding with the protesters on Canadian streets, characterizing them as “peaceful demonstrations,” even though we have seen people supporting Hamas, calling for genocide against Israeli Jews and harassing and intimidating Jewish-owned businesses. \n\nOn Twitter, Elghawaby approvingly cited a quote from a Toronto Star column reading, “The stories I have heard are both fantastical and true. Muslims (and others who silently sympathize with the loss of Palestinians lives) are being disciplined, maligned, isolated and targeted at work.” \n\nInstead of reaching across the aisle and consoling the Jewish community, she has instead chosen to focus her public comments on rising Islamophobia. \n\nSeriously? Remember the Muslim family who were killed in a hate-related attack in London, Ont., a couple years ago? All communities, including the Jewish community, across the political and religious spectrum unambiguously condemned that hate crime. And it brought a sense of relief and security to Muslims in Ontario. \n\nRemember how, after more that 50 people were gunned down while worshipping at mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, in 2019, political and religious leaders from all faiths stood behind Muslims and consoled them? \n\nAlso, after the Quebec mosque attack, almost all communities in Canada chose to stand with Muslims. There were images of people in Alberta who formed a human chain to protect Muslims. Similar scenes were witnessed elsewhere in the country. Jewish community leaders spoke out, loud and clear, in support of Muslims and against hate and bigotry. \n\nBut that is not what Elghawaby did. Instead, she makes it sounds as though it is Muslims who are the victims, while failing to mention the barbarity unleashed on Oct. 7. This is not leadership. This is not her mandate. Her job is to promote tolerance as enshrined in Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. \n\nNow imagine a scenario in which Muslims did what they ought to have done in the first place: condemned the Hamas attack, sided with the Jewish victims and dissociated themselves from terrorism. Is it disillusioned or miss informed. 100,000? -60,000? those numbers are still unrealistic for a new comer, for a couple with combined income? maybe. Ask around for realistic expectation, research, do your homework before coming. This way your dreams does not get crush as soon as you step foot in this country.
