Sadly it dont matter where each country seems to hacmve it Im in Canada Im a mix of cultures I get it from both sides they make me feel like I dont belong on earth I dont fit any where it hurts so much more then words could ever say in my heart we are all the same beings here just different cultures to learn from so much to learn im Irish , Scottish, Duch , Mohawk 60 years old still I dont fit anywhere ?

These people are desperate, can you imagine things being so bad in your own country that you travel thousands of miles to try to get into another one that promises a better life? It truly is sad for those who have empathy. Perhaps the United States should tackle the immigration problem by trying to make things better in other countries so those folks don't feel in need to cross over into America. Instead of stopping us aid helping other countries, and waging and supporting wars in other countries, the USA could take a different approach and actually help the world become a better place. It's crazy I know, but it just might help.

This is really sad becuase life after deportations is tough for somebody who was raised in USA. I was taken to the U.S. as a baby and grew up there, but at 19, I was sent back to Mexico—a country I had no memory of, no connections in, and barely spoke the language. My entire family had migrated when I was little, so I was left to figure everything out on my own.\n\nComing back felt like being thrown into an unfamiliar world. I wasn’t fluent in Spanish, had a weird accent, and my mindset was completely different from those who grew up in Mexico. I used to be outgoing and got along with everyone, but now I’ve become more introverted. I struggle to relate to people, have trouble socializing, and often feel like I don’t belong. I feel completely alone, with no one to talk to in person because everyone sees me as an outsider. Many even think I’m a terrible person for coming back after being raised in the very place they dream of moving to.\n\nMaking friends has been challenging too. Many assume that because I grew up in the U.S., I have more money, and friendships often come with the expectation that I’ll pay for everything.\n\nOn top of that, daily life is a struggle. Renting a place is extremely difficult because I don’t have a co-signer from Mexico, and they won’t accept one from the U.S. Getting legal documents like a passport is nearly impossible because my parents haven’t been in the Mexican system for over 19 years, and officials tell me they have no way to prove who I am. Unlike in the U.S., where there are laws against discrimination, I face rejection at every turn here.\n\nThis life is hard. I wish my family had never migrated—or at least had done so after I was old enough to understand the risks and what could happen in the future.

The only people who are here illegally should feel uneasy. You’re breaking the law by crossing ILLEGALLY into the US. This would be no different if I was to cross into another country illegally. They would have the right to remove me from their country and face legal charges for breaking their laws. Every generation will have a very different life if they grew up in any metropolitan place. My grandfather came to Vancouver 1896. His family of five lived in garages while he built houses. No communication with the outside world. My father went to war in 1940's and experience things many will never see. He worked in Vancouver his whole life. My generation saw the first home computer, cell phone and color TV. and the internet was born. I was always taught hystory in school. My kids tell me , they don't know how people lived the last 100 years other than first nations people, and historical figures. Its not taught. They have no idea how people struggled to survive. My kids and their friends are fascinated by the pictures I have from the past 120 years in Vancouver. People now want everything. They are not willing to sacrifice life style. Even my own kids feel this way. Luckily i taught good values and work ethics to my 3 daughters , so they are very successful.

I'm reading.\n Some of the comments. I know my opinion may not matter. But it may eh inside some people. I hope I guess the way that I would look at this is being in their shoes. It's completely different than ours. We are given opportunities from birth. Basically to common deer, the life that we would like to have well, at least most of us are. In the United States, people from degrading. Or degraded countries are not giving those opportunities. So I would imagine over the years. Any type of hope that they had for a great country is depleted. Solidarity in countries like that is not accepted it would be suppressed. It would be stormed on and smashed out by the you. I can’t find the proper words to describe how I’m feeling about the life in Canada! I feel extremely disappointed and angry. EVERYTHING has changed since the early 80s unrecognizably, even the service and how different people treat or mistreat each other!! There is no more courtesy, politeness and human respect in hospitals, government offices, banks, etc. \nThe elected government officials are mostly corrupt, unfit for their duties and pursue only a personal agendas in promotion to a higher level! \nRight now, as of January 2025 we are again expecting endless flows of refugees from Gaza along to anticipated tax increases imposed by Trump. \nI have no more words! I feel that this country becoming a dump with an unbearable quality of life. I am feeling mostly depressed and feel no joy due to current conditions and limited opportunities here. I simple cannot even stand it any more and can’t wait when I would be able to find a new place of my residence outside of Canada!

I'm a Finn living in Paraguay. My husband and I lived in Germany for eleven years until we moved to Paraguay two years ago. Life is good even though financially it's different than in Germany. However, we have built a house, we have some land, two dogs, a cat, and some chickens. We have a car and food. It's more than I ever dreamed of. We strongly feel that we have a future and it's lovely.\n\nOne thing one must keep in mind: part of your first home country and your past will always be in you. That creates a process of mourning you have to go through. And the longer you are away the greater becomes the difference between you and your own country because you both are changing but to the different directions. You realize that there's no going back. After living in the US 30 yrs and raising 2 kids, I had to return to Canada for family reasons, and THE biggest difference is the comfort in knowing my health care is covered without having to pay 100's of dollars a month for that secure feeling.

White people were already minorities in the cities before that though. Decades ago Blacks had moved to the cities and many Whites moved out to the suburbs to avoid them, and used discriminatory policies to stop the Blacks from following them. It's truly heartbreaking to witness how things have unfolded between two countries that were once united. I often listen to the stories my grandparents shared, about the peaceful times when they lived in hawalis, surrounded by neighbors who were Hindus, and how they used to cherish the old crockery they brought from Shampura. So while people tend to equate your democrats to our liberals or our NDP , and equate your republicans to our conservatives. It’s just not accurate. If you throw our span of parties and American span of parties on the SAME spectrum /polarity line. You might be surprised to realize how shifted left our systems range politically is from the American one. \n\nThis hugely impacts the average normal expectation , what we clutch our pearls at hearing coming out of the mouths of the general public , and our range of what we expect to not hear or see ranted about unless they’re to our view , extremely right leaning politically /social values. \n\nFor us this means that actually genuinely , a lot of America does get experiences by us as bat shit crazy racist homophobic immigrant intolerant culturally and religiously ignorant , and somewhat backwards in larger or smaller amounts ? I know that’s not fun to hear but. Being the most diverse country based so much on immigration means. My parents were both born in the states and my older brother was born there but they moved up here when he was a baby. So nearly all my extended family lives down there and I’m a duelly. And my experiences discussing things with my cousins or visiting absolutely could be described as culture shock at times. The insane things that came out of my own cousins mouths when they hear our friends or partners of various cultures , our not understanding how big a deal and incredibly insulting apparently it is to have assumed someone American was lgbt lol the list goes on. The fact that you could get the same amount of money on CERB as working a full time job that pays above minimum wage. I made $2 above minimum and I got about $100 above CERB over the month....... All this is why so many said no to working their backsides off to live paycheque to paycheque. Myself, I need to have a routine. I understand traveling for years outside Canada for the last decade will put you far out of the Candian market. If you followed the traditional work-invest in Canada approach you might feel different. As a baby boomer, I am set and my nieces and nephews who have entered the market early, they all have homes. If you are just coming to Canada now, blame the Trudeau immigration plan that has overwhelmed the system. I don't think Trudeau and Trump feel the same way about each other as they did 7 years ago. Seven years ago was a different energy and now its a new energy between them. I also don't think it's nice that people run away from a citizen of their country that was newly elected as President. Donald Trump is human with feelings. We shouldn't do unkind acts towards him. Besides housing, cost of living, etc, my main thorn with the newer refugees AND immigrants are that they refuse to assimilate. No one is telling you to discard your religion or culture. But something as simple as fishing with a permit (instead of taking your entire clan to go empty out a river whenever you like in disregard to size/amount/seasonal regulations), waiting for people to dismount from a bus or train BEFORE you push your way into it, not trashing the entire downtown core every single night way into the early morning with loud music while people are trying to sleep, actually learning the language and not giving an attitude when someone gently tells you that their order is wrong, and so on. \n\nMany cultures and generations before you have done it and are embraced for their differences.
