Canada never assured PR for anyone, at any point of time.\nOnly the eligible will get PR, and the rest will have to go back to their respective countries. \n\nIt is a positive news that about 1 million temporary workers/students will be given PR in the next 3 to 4 years.\n\nI remember a student, who came to Canada ?? in 2007, studied/ worked for 5 years, and went back to India, as she didn't not get PR.\n\nOnly those occupations which are in demand will attract PR. \n\nThere is nothing new in this. I can't understand, why there is so much confusion over this issue.

Politicians always play safe for their benefits, but any native should never feel a stranger in their own hometown, it's a nightmare, I'm an Indian, from Kerala, I can't think of feeling and outsider in Kerala, so totally understand what people feel in any part of the world. But don't you think, any outsiders coming and occupying the masses seems like a problem with the efficiency of people there, even here in Kerala we used to speak of Tamil population in early 80s and now Bengalis occupying our street, but can we actually blame them? I would say no, we didn't do our job, they came and did the job and now they are in huge numbers. The same happens anywhere in the world. You don't do your job right, someone will come down the job and probably occupy a heart share of the city gradually, for malayalis Kochi esp Aluva is a real time case study for the same.

Simply…Government overflowed the country with immigrants to lower entry-level salaries hence all the salaries have frozen and become stagnant, housing has suffered pressure by demand, entry level jobs have gone to these immigrants that will work for lower salaries cause they need to pay their studies to become PR and as always there are some immigrants that came with bad intensions which put the spotlight in those who actually came to make a life in Canada

I once came across colleague who arrived on study permit, went to construction jobs while on the permit, took advantage of favouring exchange rate in his home country, send all his savings there, bought a 4 acre land and gets healthy crops there enough for his family to live a lavish life making enough to retire at 30. When his study permit and associated work permit expired and he didn't qualify for PR in Canada as per point system, applied for asylum stating political unrest back home. His asylum was accepted. We who think they are poor are fools. He was only 27 and said he will retire at 30. But I doubt he will ever go back to his home country.? Canada is his gold mine. He was from Bangladesh. Trust me Indians dont go that far. There is no political instability in India and if to the contrary Indians are claiming asylum the system is truly broken.

Very appropriate question you asked in the start itself. They have no right to be here. They came on the pretext of studying and now they say they have a right. What taxes are they talking about. All International Students are aware that they have to apply for Work Permit but it is not a legal binding on the Canadian Govt. to give one. What is India doing to its minority and what about International Students do they give the citizenship. Canadian Citizenship is not for Free throw the Garbage out they can't even communicate.

I met a guy from turkey on lyft and he told me he got his PR via fake refugee case. I asked him do you like it here and he told me canada is shit and back home was better. I was surprised by the entitlement. I too came in as an international student and this country has given me a lot and I love it more than back home tbh. It’s just people are missing common sense these days. As they say “common sense is not so common”.

Government made biggest mistake , took way too many people ! Open visa for everyone student got two year visa for business diploma, most of them came to do business or total management diploma! but their families got 10 years visa !95% student got visa for theirs families or fake marrying boy or girl who got student visa and others pay for their study !

Indian international students came to study but won’t leave Canada and demands for permanent residency

Can we tell something the people who came from India they paid a huge amount of money for studies , unfortunately so many students didn't got the pr , but here millions of refuges they came to this country from different nationalities didn't pay any single penny, but still they have so many grants from the government even came with pr as well, so please don't blame only Indians there are a lot of other migrants as well.

If indians are studying and are having better life as compared to so called Canadian born citizens then they should learn from indians that how to do hard work ? not the hard drugs. When they didn’t have much labour force to work they welcomed immigrants and now when they have came legally with visas they are seeing us as problems maybe vote for the people who actually represents you guys in parliament ?ok and just one more thing don’t just do drugs do some job at tim hortons maybe then you will get to live in a basement because you will not vote for those who want to build more homes ?

All the Universities, especially in Ontario Colleges official representatives came to my home town , and told me that if I spend this much amount of money to study this many years , I can apply for a PR. That is why I came here. I chose to study in Algonquin college, Ottawa.I spend 4 times more than a Canadian student which I don't complain.\nAt least authority should keep there word, or give back the money. \nThey should not invite those students.\nThose who telling us to go back , should go back first Europe and practice what they preach.\nStudents came here in a student Visa, which can legally apply PR. They lied to come here on the pretence that they were going to study most of them don’t study expect to pass work more than 20 hours and take jobs away from Canadian born students who cannot find any jobs. As a 56-year-old Punjabi woman born and raised here and absolutely disgusted in their behaviour and entitlement. We came the right way you guys want to cheat and then most of you can’t even speak English properly so I question did you actually pass the exams. Most of you don’t study don’t go to class expect to pass, even though can barely speak English. You don’t assimilate you make a mockery in downtown Vancouver and white rock. That’s excellent hopefully Canada will become Canadian again. As a Punjabi, I’m absolutely disgusted with these new international students. They came here on pretence most of them didn’t even pass the English test they cheated and scammed to get here. They’re not attending colleges and working full-time taking jobs away from Canadian born students, including my own son who applied for over 100 jobs and got nothing. They need to go back after studying what’s deplorable is their sense of entitlement now, I’m so embarrassed by them. If you don't care enough to respect the country which you're living you're not worthy of staying in that country. As simple as that. You do not own this country or India for that matter, learn to respect the people and culture of the country you're staying in. Keeping aside Canadia's vices, we always have to remember that this land is our home for the number of years we're studying here. If you wouldn't do something it in your own home, you shouldn't do anywhere else. It's because of people like these all the Indians receive hate. People like me who genuinely care about education and respect the Canadian Culture suffer. Although I am glad that most of the Canadians that I have came across till now have been able to understand how different I am from the bad experiences they've had in the past and treat me well. Now you’re leaving. \n\nVancouver is a pin point on the map of Canada. Vancouver (and Toronto) isn’t all of Canada, and CBC is hardly the reliable source it once was. If you don’t want to help build Canada, participate in the democratic process, and build a life in Canada, fair enough. You probably should leave.

Study in Canada and when you graduate go home help make your Country be great and prosperous. I feel that these students only came here to escape poverty in India. I feel bad about what you are going through at the moment. Youre parents should sue those Agencies who robbed them of their money just to be able to send you here to study.
