As an American who worked in HR for eight years at BMO in Canada, I’ve noticed an important trend: many local professionals often attribute their career struggles to the system, when the real issue is a lack of updated skills. In my previous office of 71 employees, around 60% were Indian and Chinese professionals — many of them exceptionally skilled and hardworking. The fact is, immigrants don’t take jobs; they earn them through their capabilities. I currently work at BlackRock, managing a team of 221 people. Individuals with strong mathematical and analytical abilities often come from Indian or Chinese backgrounds, while only about 20% of our workforce is American. I conduct 4–5 interviews daily, and the pattern remains consistent — candidates from Europe, the U.S., and Canada frequently lag behind in technical skills. It’s a tough truth, but one worth acknowledging: in today’s competitive job market, skill development matters far more than nationality.

As an American born Punjabi, I used to visit Canada when i was young (90's) and it was a beautiful place. Now I dread going there because the Canadian culture is lost. It's over run with Indians and they don't share the same value or even cultural norms as Westerners. I see this problem in America as well but it's nto just Indians. In America, it's every country in the world that comes and interacts with their own community and there's no assimilation. Even as a second generation American, I still feel like a guest in this country and I am grateful for the Americans to have allowed my family to come here to live with them. Citizenship is just a piece of paper though. I know if I didn't assimilate, they could send me to India even if I know nothing about it. It's just basic humility.

For those who are sying: "The problem isn't Indian people coming to Canada, its Indian people turning Canada into India", I have a question for you all? Q1: If you take Africans, East Asians, Middle eastern people, latin americans, maxicans, etc in huge numbers, wouldn't they turn your canada into Africa, East asia, middle east, latin america, maxico, etc? Q2: Your government took immigrants in huge number and only from India, whose fault is that?

Sad to see the racist comments both in the video as well as in the comments. There is no doubt that Canada took too many immigrants in the past 5-7 years. The reasons are many - and the blame goes on both the provincial conservatives and federal liberals. The tuition freeze in Ontario caused colleges and universities to treat foreign students as an ATM to balance their budgets. Foreign enrollments skyrocketed, especially in colleges, with students paying top dollar for dubious degrees with no job prospects. This put strains on the job market, and the housing/rental market. As an educated Indian-American who now lives in Canada, it pains me to see my fellow countrymen dominating Uber, Uber Eats, Bicycle food delivery and Tim Hortons. No one uproots everything in their home country and comes all the way for this. Most of these people are here legally and they work really hard. A last word - leaving aside the Khalistan issue that has caused a wedge between Hindus and Sikhs - the Indian diaspora, especially the Sikh, are amazing in the amount of charitable work that they do. Their concept of seva is unmatched. No one goes hungry when there is a Gurdwara around, as there is always free nutritious food. Same is true for temples. Even a young poor Steve Jobs ate at Iskcon temples. Last point - while some of Canada's problems are because of excessive immigration, Canada would be nothing without immigrants. The population would decline, with a native fertility rate of under 1.4, and entitlement programs would be in deep trouble.

I'm a Canadian, I was born here, who knows what generation Canadian I am - my ancestors were here long before Canada was a country, later they fought for the British (one naughty son fought for the "rebels" americans and was in jail for 5 years), the monarchy granted them 100 acres in the Niagara region which was farmed by a line of my family until the 1980s when the last of that direct line sold which is tragic. blah blah - Canadian. ANYWAY - I love other people, other cultures, every immigrant that spoke in this video I welcome with open arms, would befriend, share a meal with etc. I grew up working with many people from Pakistan and India who were escaping really scary situations, worked their butts off to be part of this country, learn the language, save for a home - live a safe and happy life. I feel very sad because, in the end, all immigrants end up paying the price for the bad attitudes of a few. I speak especially from the perspective of Latin American immigrants: we are not the majority in Canada, but we come with the intention of adapting, of including ourselves in the local culture, and of contributing the best we can. Our culture is not so distant — we share religion, family values, and lifestyle — and we arrive with the willingness to integrate, not to impose. Even so, for us the path is extremely difficult: getting permanent residency and, eventually, citizenship is a long, expensive, and complicated process. And we do it, we comply with the rules, we respect, we pay everything. What hurts is seeing that some other groups arrive with a different attitude: instead of integrating, they want to impose their culture, their religion, even their body odors, and if you make a face or express discomfort, they immediately take it as “discrimination.” It is not fair that, for example, my child should stop bringing meat in his lunch just because another child bullies him saying he is “a filthy sinner.” Inclusion should be mutual, an effort on both sides, not a one-sided demand.

The American president probably lost his mind. Let's imagine that the tariffs will actually be effective and three thousand companies from all over the world will come back. 3,000 companies will start producing, they need people. Where they pay American wages. These companies left because they could produce the product cheaper abroad and Americans could buy it cheaper. Most americans are not in agreement with any of what's coming out of the president's office. -DEAR AMERICANS ..., this video is a prime example of why the USA needs to stop depending so much on other countries for so much importing and start investing in building and start manufacturing products again in the US like it used to be and keeping our farmlands IS VERY IMPORTANT also. Now you see the other side to alot of what's going on , it's important for America as a whole. If you don't understand why manufacturing/ farming/ and investing into some independence like other countries is important ....now you know!!! . Yes their are always gonna be trades and we need them also, But USA is like totally relying on other countries for everything!! We have nothing to offer of value anymore as a country or trade!! \n\n Hopefully the leaders in charge work with these trade countries and they come to fair agreements in fairness and the best intrest of Canada and USA .

You people do know that the majority of this country does not agree with you right? We support Donald Trump and will stand by him as he makes America better again. We are getting stronger as new companies come in and will put many American workers to work. American workers will produce better products.

Let's not forget that the USA has only ever won one war on its own. The American Civil War! WW1 and 2 were a global allied effort, Korea a stalemate, beaten pants down in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan a shambles. Their recent treatment of President Zolenski was utterly shameful. Trump doesn't seem to understand that America will need all the friends that it can muster in the coming decade. The USA will be very alone in a war against China if they have isolated and belittled their strongest and best allies. Vance, should just keep his mouth shut, because every time he opens it he shames America. While every time Trump his mouth, Putin comes out.

If any American is shocked by this and believe that this deterioration of relations happened over night… allow me to remind you that not just Canada, but the entire world has prepared for this starting in Tr**p’s first term when he first started breaking ties with allies and sat in bed with your enemies. That is why the world is backing Canada so quickly and aggressively - we saw this coming and we decided back then that we needed to prepare for a world without the USA… and here we are! Trump-GOP-Q's nonsense execuse is fentanyl. However, Trump-GOP-Q's reps do not do the best effort to help Americans who are addicted to fentanyl & other drugs. The reason why fentanyl and other drugs keep coming into the USA is because we in America have too many drug addicts, mostly in the red states that vote for Trump-GOP-Q's reps. Medicaid could be used to help our drug addicts to overcome their addiction, but Trump-GOP-Q's are trying to cut $800 million from medicaid & redirect it for tax cuts for the wealthy. Historically, tariffs have been imposed to support production of American goods. Think cotton, steel, other raw materials the U.S. used to produce in past centuries. For the past several decades, America has not produced many raw materials because it's cheaper to buy them from countries who can pay their workers less to keep the cost of production low. It's impossible to quickly begin producing these things here, so Trumplethinskin's tariffs will do nothing but piss off our trading partners and dramatically increase the prices Americans pay for a long list of essential goods. I see a major recession coming soon.
