I’m an independent that usually votes Democrat, but the border should be a nonpartisan issue.\n\nAmerica is not like Europe. European countries are the sizes of states, and they have the European Union to cross govern.\n\nAmerica does not have a relationship with Canada or Mexico like any of the EU countries.\n\nWe cannot be letting this happen. I feel for the people suffering in Mexico, I truly do. But mass illegal immigration is not the solution.\n\nNo matter how bad things get in America, I will never just walk over to Canada and demand a job.\n\nOur societies have to function on a system, and that system demands legal immigration.\n\nWe have to do something, but when it’s a bridge like this…I don’t know what ethical solutions there would be. \n\nMaybe an electrical fence? The thought of a child being electrocuted because they were pushed into that fence is devastating to me; it would be heartbreaking to see anyone injured that way.\n\nWe can’t hurt these people, that’s not right. But we have to find some way of keeping them from crossing illegally.\n\nA wall, a mote, an electric fence—honesty, I don’t see how any of those would keep people out…\n\nIt’s just an awful mess. Forget Democrats versus Republicans. This is an issue every American should recognize.

The issue is the people are scared of the government in South America and Mexico and because of that of course they’re going to try and flee so here’s the solution we invade Mexico and South America. And turn their government into how are government works that way the people of south America and Mexico will have individual liberties and will be protected from their government by a constitutional republic like we have in America Also allowing regular citizens to be able to defend themselves is critical and allowing citizens to have freedom if a citizen cannot protect themselves from any threat foreign or domestic, they will not be able to stand up for themselves and a lot of countries in south America do not allow you to own firearms legally, and that means only criminals have the firearms

It's unconscionable that we've invited people to come to Canada without actually following through on the promise we made to them in the first place. Was it all just sloganeering designed to appeal to liberal progressive NIMBYers? Was there ever any intent on actually doing something for these poor people beyond a sound bite or photo op? \n\nThe solution to migration because of war, terror, famine and so on is not by opening up the borders and allowing everyone in, the solution to mass migrations (over 100 million worldwide) is to tackle the conditions that make such migrations necessary. Almost without exception, each one of these migrant/refugee situations are the result of political problems that have to be tackled in those countries where the conditions exist. There are over 100 million people fleeing conditions that make life unbearable, even if we wanted to, how are we to take them all into North America? How does anyone propose we do that, and even if we could manage it somehow, another 100 million would show up on our doorstep next year...or next week...it's simply not possible or reasonable to expect us to be overwhelmed by wave after wave of the poor unfortunate. The solutions to war and famine abroad can't be found here and we need to make it plain that people who live in such conditions must first rise up to help themselves. We can and should help, politically, through foreign aid and individual donations (North Americans are among the most generous donators after all), and even militarily where feasible or possible. The UN and other coalitions of nations, must each take up the burdens before people smugglers take it up for them. We have our own problems to deal with here and I'm not willing to vote for promises made that were never meant to be kept.

Solution is simple. We all know the USA can easily make those third world countries better so none of their citizens would even think of coming to America for a better life economically. If I may ask: who made all those third world countries poor despite their rich natural resources? Message ???

Solution. Instead of sending $77 billion dollars to a lost war to Ukraine. Use that $$ to create jobs in Central/South America. That way you stop immigration and we can take advantage of their cheap labor. Which is the only way we can compete against China. \nYou are welcome!!!!!????????

I have a fix to all this. Make every American that came from a legit system, and grand parents, and parents who came legally back 4 generations count only and offspring.. No Tno anchor babies allowed from anyone who came illegally past 4 generations, record department can validate all this. All natural born and maybe been legally also count. Ok, everyone mentioned get mandated to wear a tamper proof wristband linked to ownership and picked up from the DMV and the bands are electronically active for six months, if cut it sends a signal RFID signal for warranted arrest. Everyone with a band can go to work, shop, travel and it's only temporary for 6 months then gets legally removed. All illegals can register on the way out and need grabbed to cube back through the front door if they have no violent or theft charges or rape/assault felonies. Temp residents/work Visas get a band too. Bring in NATO and our military to start operation clean sweep, we offer bus rides back and ditched air flights back to what ever country you can't from, the sweep comes from N.S.E.W. circling in..if caught after having a chance to leave and didn't you will have a index finger on left hand cut off as a marker for being a invader to our homeland along with a RFID microchip embedded into the wrist bone, the chip will signal in the future if you even get with in 500 miles to border and all airports coming into America. Solar drones charge and patrol the border in drives 24/7. All who participated can get in line to come back as long as clean record mentioned prior. We keep treating the symptoms when we really need to start finding solutions to the root causes. To the south, it is all America's fault. The American population funded all the cartels, funded the drug trades in Mexico and Latin America, now we let them suffer at the hands of the cartels and turn them away at the border. This country and the people here are disgustingly ignorant to the outside world.

The solution is for developed countries to force certain policies on third world countries. North America, Europe and Japan are paying for the incompetencies of third-world country governments.

Simple Solution! \n#1. Canada and the US both need to stop illegals crossing the Border in either direction. \n#2. The US HAS TO stop everyone crossing the Border with Mexico NOW!!! Close the damn southern border permanently\n and do not allow any one across to America!!!\n#3. Gather all illegals in America and transport them back to Mexico and tell Mexico they must deal with them and send \n them all back to their Home Country!!!\n\nENOUGH IS ENOUGH, before America is in ruin from these Foreign Invaders!!!\n(Drugs, Gun Runners, Human Trafficking, etc.)

I’m the son of immigrants. However, my parents asked for asylum by going to us embassy in Bangkok Thailand. So born and raised in America. But when I see this it breaks my heart, on one hand I feel for those who want a better life for themselves. On the other, we cannot let this type of chaos unfold before our eyes. Is the solution a militarized wall that mirrors the Korean DMZ or West Bank barrier- maybe, I hope not, i prefer not to build walls but bridges of friendship, trade, problem solving, and unity. Overall I’m just frustrated.

The unfortunate thing is, a lot of people can't talk about simple truths. And if you try to, you will be called a racist, because facts and statistics are racist apparently. But if you look at the crime statistics database, something like 90% of violent crime is committed by black and Hispanic men between the age of 18 to 45. If you removed that demographic from America, America would be like some future Utopian world where all we knew was peace. So those demographics need to be allowed to be talked about if we want to be able to find solutions and solve those problems. And no, giving reparations would never solve stop those crimes. It's a cultural things that's kept around by bad parenting, poor education, and their surroundings. Sweden is a perfect example where they had nearly 0 crime until they started letting in black refugees from all over. Grape, robbery, and assaults all went up by not 20, 30, 40, 50%. Not even 100%. Those crimes went up by like 400% or more. Women who had lived there their whole lives now had to walk the streets in fear. White men had to now be worried about getting assaulted or stabbed by immigrants who were hitting on his girlfriend in clubs. Or watch what he said back to a refugee who mouthed off to him trying to start shit. They are completely disrespectful and unappreciative of being allowed to live there and be given government assistance. This is how people become prejudice. They SEE how other cultures act and treat them, and they don't want anything to do with them because they simply fear for our safety.

I'm American. This new lifestyle of indoor culture is so different than the way my parents and ancestors and myself know in America. You have to become a organizer of events nowadays. Be a part of the solution in your communities.

Hey Mother Tucker. Your American solution is obviously much better. Kidnap the kids and lock them and their parents separately in dog kennels indefinitely. The reason there are so many more asylum seekers in Canada is the U.S. is systematically forcing them out, often after years of living there. Build that southern wall! Make the U.S. pay!
