More people need to speak up like mister Trudeau here. American government is not only screwing others, but also their own people. I do not believe that Americans understand how much disrespect they have gain. It is time that Americans start to wake up and speak up. Canada, we respect you big time.

It’s an embarrassment. I hope Canada and the rest of the world realize that millions of intelligent progressive Americans do not support the orange clown who we have the misfortune of having as our president. We envy you for having an eloquent respectable leader.

I have always been a proud American citizen. My paternal side of my family has been traced back to the Mayflower and I have ancestors and family that have served in the Revolutionary War, the American Civil War, WWl, WWll, Vietnam, the Gulf, and Afghanistan. This country has made many mistakes and has had much shame throughout its existence for various things but this is the first time and U.S. president has turned his back on our friends and allies in favor of an evil authoritarian leader named Vladimir Putin who strokes his massive ego and gives him elusions of power and respect from Putin when in reality Putin is playing Trump like a fiddle. The New York Times was not right. Donald Trump is not a bright guy. I stand strongly with my friends in Canada ??.

While we understand these tariffs will impact all consumers, as Americans, we acknowledge that Canada and Mexico's responses are a direct result of policy decisions beyond their control. The speech of Mr Trudeau, the way Canadians have shown solidarity for one another, today it all puts my country, The US, to shame. Since taking office literally not one thing he has done has made sense to me as an American. I grew up in Commerce Twp Michigan. I visited Canada regularly and, even as crime from Detroit poured across the border into Canada, Canadians always treated us with respect and welcome. I never imagined that would stop but now I find it hard to imagine how it might continue and it breaks my heart.

As a child, I remember my sister-in-law, who lived under the regime of Hitler, explain to me the horrors that occurred in their country by this tyrant. Now, the USA has a maniac who is taking us Americans through the same things that Hitler took my sister-in-law and her family through. Being an older African American woman, I am not afraid of this President, or what he can do, I grew up with strong black women, and he can't bring me down!! As an American and a Trump supporter, I agree with these tariffs, but only equal to the tariffs other countries charge the United States on our imports. I do not agree with imposing this on our brothers and sisters to the north. I’m speaking of the good people of Canada. I have traveled to Canada and crossing the border was just like crossing into another state. Yes, there was a border gate which there should be, but I had absolutely no problem whatsoever. I hope our government can work this out very quickly and stop this foolishness. But to countries like China and Europe the United States should charge a reciprocal tariff as to what you charge us on our import. It’s only fair. Why are we paying an exuberant tariff for our goods entering your country and you expect to pay nothing with your goods entering ours. Most Americans, love Canada and love our Canadian brothers and sisters, we’ve always supported each other in world, wars, and other attacks against our respective countries.
