As a Canadian child (early 1970's) I collected money with my candy on Halloween for people in Bangladesh. We have food banks and shelters and assistance programs for those suffering misfortune and our society WAS designed around public sharable services and programs. When I was a teen, a Guianese immigrant co-worker told me Canadians are stupid for providing handouts to immigrants and he laughed at me for buying his house with my taxes. In recent years there has been an influx of new residents whose focus is how they can take advantage, what they can get for free and those who try to cheat the system and cheat others. The scams and cheating that sends thousands of Indian students to Canada for an education at a school that cant take them is the same kind of scams starting here. The fraudulent proofs of income banks were receiving for house purchases has resulted in an artificially inflated housing market. I just bought a house and my Canadian born Indian neighbors literally gated and locked me out of $6000 of my land, while we were on good terms, because the felt like it. We were a society built on honor, trust and respect and while I wouldn't say its all the fault of Indians, there are by no means a small percentage and its getting worse.

It is all about economy and business, The Government is collecting huge capital from sponsorship and visa applications and processing system, and Colleges, Universities are making lot of money from foreign students charging 4,5 x fees, also people they move to Canada ?? ? they sell their properties and bring all the money to this country to start the business, providing jobs and contributing in to building Canadian economy even more stronger, we can’t say anything bad to any community just because of some bad people. Stop criticizing International student! They bring money here to boost economy and hardly collect money for living here during their stay. Yeah those who work on cash should be monitored. In Manitoba it’s a little bit easier but the RTB is such a drawn out process. \n\nYou need to have justifying grounds. Easy. They didn’t pay. You have to serve them their termination, with a minimum of five business days to vacate. This is where it gets tricky. You have to attempt at least 3 times on different dates at different times of the day. Usually around 7:00 AM, Noon, around 7:00 PM. If that fails. You have to pay to be allowed to post the notice on the door. After that you have declare they’ve been served. Then book a hearing which can take a month or more. At the hearing which can take hours or minutes depending on how well prepared you are, or how much the tenant wants to argue. \n\nOnce the hearing is concluded. It can take 1-2 weeks to get the final decision. If they’re told to vacate. They usually have 5 business days before you can involve law enforcement. Which then takes another week for them to show up. Finally the landlord can change the locks. \n\nExcept, the tenant can then file an appeal. And take the landlord back into a hearing which can take another month. If the tenant fails to change the verdict it’s final. Then you need permission from the RTB to send them to collections, which can then take months if ever, to get the money back.

I am Canadian and I work in an area with a lot of foreign student labour. This is an accurate summary of the situation. I have some college education, and I noticed many Indian students are going to private colleges a distance away. I believe the colleges aren't properly vetting these students in order to allow more in and collect more money from them. International students pay more to go to school in Canada. These young people unfamiliar with a western education system don't understand things aren't being done properly, but the bad reputation of these schools gets around and these students credentials are worthless. It's sad considering families frequently go into debt to send their kids to Canada. The education in the United States is horrible in Canada. All schools are treated easily money is put in a pot in a provincial pot and it is shared with all schools in the United States. I lived in canada for past 35 years. I am married with 3 kids. I work like a dog 60 hrs a week , i pay heavy taxes on my salary soo the government can give away hard tax payers money to people who scam the system. Examples are walfare and ontario works. I know people that get $1350 minimum on odsp and they are more than capable of working but choose to scam the sysytem collect free money and work cash jobs for less money and take away jobs from others. I immigrated to Canada from Ukraine in 2022 and have since been living and working in Winnipeg. This country has offered me numerous opportunities, even though I do not hold high-ranking positions. My wife and I are able to save a bit of money for unforeseen expenses. Just when I started to feel settled and thought that things were going quite well, I encountered numerous videos claiming the opposite, particularly highlighting the scarcity of affordable housing. \n \nDespite the prevalence of such content, my personal experience differs. I pay $725 for housing with a salary of $2.3K, which I find to be a reasonable balance. Some might say I was fortunate, but affordable housing ranging from $800 to $1000 is readily available in Winnipeg, and this is just one city's example; there are many other cities across Canada. \nFrom my perspective, the issue of housing affordability is overstated and not solely attributable to the country's policies. Such scenarios can occur in any nation if half the population desires to reside within 4% of its land area (namely, Toronto and its vicinity), leading inevitably to soaring prices – that's simply economics. \n \nIt's not my place to dictate how Canadians should live, but it appears to me that the crux of the problem lies in the uneven distribution of the population. As the second-largest country globally, Canada can comfortably accommodate 40 million people or even significantly more. However, this necessitates a collective understanding that concentrating the population in a single city may not be the most prudent approach.

Actually it is really simple, the main reason that educational institutes (businesses in reality) and the country have been bringing in international students (whether India or elsewhere) is that *the international students pay 4-5x more in tuition* and so *educational institutes and the country wants to bring them in as cash cows, to milk them for the money!* *They have been using them as cash cows and milking them* There are so many institutes where there is such an imbalance, where 80-90% are international students and the local minority, the reason again is, $$. \n From international students and imgs there is a boost in the economy because of the high tuition they pay and the tax that is collected from that tuition, they spend on rent (crazy expensive as you know) transport, basic cost of living like food etc, entertainment etc, so the economy did benefit from immigrants and international students, but I completely agree that there is way too much influx. It is not good for them nor for the country, as everything has become so expensive, rent and housing affordability is gone crazy, due to crazy demand and low supply. \n So the problem is greed! I totally agree with True North's the Timz example, and the other places mentioned, and I really think that the government should work on affordability, the housing crisis, health care, sustainability, and fair and equal employment.

Canada has 4 big provinces with populations over 3 million. Thats 4 out of ten, and they're the biggest provinces By land area.. Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec. These 4 provinces are essentially Canada's money makers. And each of these provinces are like their own country. Collectively, each of these 4 provinces fund the rest of the country.

Well…. Look at the citizenship application process time. That is really long, and so long enough for people to find else better jobs outside of Canada.\n\nIn Canada, government officials are Crown servants not people’s servants. Except tax and else money collecting, the Government’s service standard is really low and inefficient.

Not only that they come under bogus universities/collages that just collect money and all these people get away with a permanent visa after that with no marketable skills and being stuck in the 15-23 pay range.

Stop accepting people from entering Canada, we are overloaded already. Stop being so greedy just to collect tuition money from international students.

I immigrted in 2016 and went back to my country in 2022 after collecting my citizenship, and staying a total of 5.5 years.\n\n In terms of money, i brought $15k as settlement funds. Saved in excess of $65k from salary i earned after paying taxes and got $16k in tax returns. From these savings i helped my sibling in paying his NDBE exam fee, paid hospital bill when my mom was diagnosed with covid in 2020 (she fully recoered and is in excellent health now) for myself i bought books, computers and other electronic gadgets of my choice, After returning back i made an investment of $20k and bought a plot of land for $25k measuring 240 sq yards and still left with nearly $12k.\n\nIt would need another $50k to built a double story house on it with all the luxurious ( which i will save in my next tour) . To me the best place on earth is where you can live a happy and comfortable life.

Idk how everyone seems to be confused why we have so much homelessness. Israels national investment firm called black rock has been buying up American housing for years. They were very outspoken about their plans to buy everything, and hold onto it indefinitely while renting it out for very high rates. Every politician has bought 50 or more homes to do this with as well. Tucker carlson has a load of them, as well as every other tv personality. People from other countries stay 10 people per home, and collectively can afford much higher rates than americans living 1 family to a home, again driving rates ever higher. Government is soley responsible for the dollar becoming worthless so quickly. Wages will never keep up. The government makes more money by cramming as many people as possible into the country, directly at the expense of quality of life for the citizens. Nobody is protecting the interests of American citizens. We are all getting robbed blind by predators while we all appear to be blind deaf and dumb. Nothing happening is an accident. Every loser creates a winner somewhere.
