Maybe he should discuss the constant duty fees and border crossing fees for anything shipped from Canada to the USA that have been constantly rising for years; fees that his very own government sets. Maybe he should talk about Canada demanding that anyone that sells anything foodwise to anyone in Canada from the USA has to have a special Safe Food For Canadians Food License or the goods being shipped will be rejected at the US owners cost, seized by the border and held in storage at the US owners cost, and destroyed and billed to the US owner. A license that no one actually needs considering other legal and ethical controls are in place to prevent unsafe foods from crossing the border, but Canada reserves the right to make us pay for one or we suffer consequences. Maybe he should discuss how they left their borders open to migrants, making it much easier for criminal migrants to get into the US. Maybe he should understand that the US has always been bleeding money to Canada on a trade level for about half a century with it getting much worse in the last decade because Canada's government are greedy. Before any of you come at me, keep in mind I work in the food ingredient industry as an order processing, logistics and customs & border crossing and have done so for 15 years. These tariffs were a long time coming and if any of you are on the inside of trade in the manner I am, then you know what I'm saying is true. The US is constantly paying additional tariffs by way of duty fees, customs fees, certain applied taxes (like there is literally a blueberry tax to ship US grown blueberries into Canada to prevent US blueberries from taking over the Canadian blueberry market). The blueberry tax is about 25cents per lb. which drives the price per lb. up for the seller and buyer. You wanna know why Food costs so much? All of the above with a huge side helping of GREED.

Love how he switched to/from sugar-coat mode. We all know who needed the sugarcoating. It wasn't the Canadians. I stand with ?? and the ??. I apologize for the crass buffoon currently living (part-time) in the White House. He's crossing too many boundaries. The people of this continent are angry!

Don't tell lie to people border was not safe look at the historic number in 2021, 2022, 2023 where people crossed border illegally from Canada that's only because of you Trudiot. you opened door for mass immigration like student, visitor and work permit. so, some people used those visas to enter Canada and crossed US border. I am Canadian and moved to US for work only because of this guy Trudeau who devalued Loonie in 10 years. Only Canadian lived better in Harper Era. You destroyed everything.

As an American and a Trump supporter, I agree with these tariffs, but only equal to the tariffs other countries charge the United States on our imports. I do not agree with imposing this on our brothers and sisters to the north. I’m speaking of the good people of Canada. I have traveled to Canada and crossing the border was just like crossing into another state. Yes, there was a border gate which there should be, but I had absolutely no problem whatsoever. I hope our government can work this out very quickly and stop this foolishness. But to countries like China and Europe the United States should charge a reciprocal tariff as to what you charge us on our import. It’s only fair. Why are we paying an exuberant tariff for our goods entering your country and you expect to pay nothing with your goods entering ours. Most Americans, love Canada and love our Canadian brothers and sisters, we’ve always supported each other in world, wars, and other attacks against our respective countries. I pray this is resolved quickly, and then we can once again live United and in harmony.

If your insane president won't back down, electricity will be cut off, and potash and nickel will no longer be exported. Agreements with Homeland security will be canceled, NORAD may be cancelled, and cross border travel will be severely restricted soon. Canadian armed forces will be standing by to halt an American military operation, and our European Allies will join us for what we hope will only be another cold war.

do any Canadians remember this very low IQ Governor allowed his government to Seize your bank accounts for protesting an experimental jabbb and lockdown... now he calls the U President dumb.?? Y'all are about to find out really quickly why this person crosses his legs like a chick... he has no balls and will lose this fight.

As a Canadian that crosses the border, there is an archway with two gates at the crossing. On it the words that say “one mother, two sons” may these gates never close. \n\nNobody wins when family fights family.

I'm usually reasonable enough to realize that while I may disagree with many policy decisions, there's usually a relatively coherent line of thought to back said actions up. The problem here is that there’s no clear logic behind using tariffs as a tool to curb fentanyl trafficking or immigration. I'm not going to speak on the issue of immigration at the Canadian border because there simply is none. Yes, there are illegals from Canada, but almost 100% of them are from overstaying visas rather than crossing the border unlawfully. So let's talk about fentanyl. \n\nMost fentanyl in the US originates from China, often in precursor form, and is then processed in Mexico before being smuggled into the states. But it's typically trafficked in small, high potency quantities, often hidden in legitimate shipments or through mail, and only on very rare occasions is it being brought in by individuals crossing the border. It has _never_ been documented to have shipped in as part of large scale commercial imports, so a 25% tariff on legal trade with Canada and Mexico doesn’t directly target the black market supply chain at all.\n\nIf we take Trump’s reasoning at face value, the argument seems to be that he wants to exert economic pressure on Mexico and Canada as a means of having them crack down harder on drug trafficking networks. But the issue is that fentanyl simply isn’t coming in through mass import channels, so all this looks like is a punitive measure without a clear mechanism to actually achieve its stated goal. And the implications? Drastically higher costs for consumers in the US, Canada, and Mexico, with absolutely nothing to show for it.

Trudeau a dictator himself himself sit down we fired that shameless embarrassment two months ago he screwed us by allowing unlimited economic migrants millions into Canada illegally many who illegally crossed into the US illegally they did little for years to stem the flow of hard drugs organized crime out of control clandestine drug labs all over Canada now hundreds of thousands of Canadians dead from overdose he screwed us now Trump is screwing us we are really screwed with this clown show at the helm still we should have had an election a year ago so a competent government was installed working instead the Liberal red green show is in charge

Thousands of Canadians crossed the border every day to work in the United States.Don't let them see what happens

When are people going to realize that the Tariffs have nothing to do with fentanyl crossing the Canadian border, that is just a smoke screen. the real reason is the fact that Trump is Putin's puppet and Canada is aligned with Ukraine, so now they are trying to hurt and possibly ruin Canadas economy. Trump is like Putin where he does not care if counter Tarriffs hurt the American people, he only cares about himself and his rich friends, who will not be personally be affected by them.

I'm Canadian and trudeau is so full of crap when he talks, trudeau hasn't done crap to improve our military. He knows what he needs to do to prevent these tariffs but he still wanted free drugs to cross the border same with illegals, Trudeau doesnt care about canadians at all
2025-03-04 0
As a Canadian, we don't produce any arms and the ones that we have in our country come from the usa...then we should do the same as Mexico...we should sue the state for the crossing border in Canada....

A trade deficit occurs when you sell trinkets that no one wants or trinkets of poor quality. Next steps. Restrict people who come from no vax/raw milk regions from entering Canada; Hold military exercises in Canada with EU, Mexico, Columbia, Brazil; Close the Detroit border crossing for 3 days (thousands of amurucans work in Ontario), Restrict electricity exports to NY and MN; Restrict Canadian air space; Alaska no fly zone; Increase landing fees at YYZ and YVR. . Remember 1814 and Lundy`s Lane.

No problem with Canadians. Not sure why they put up with Trudeau. It took this to get him to take action on the border, and from what I understand the Canadian accounting is flawed. E.g. one percent of ten percent surveilled is not impressive, when 90 percent are crossing freely.
2025-03-04 0
Why is CNN just repeating the MAGAt lies about fentanyl and migrants crossing the Canadian border. And on the southern border, 80% of fentanyl is brought in by US citizens at border crossings.
2025-03-04 0
We Canadians are suckers if we're giving billions more to Ukraine. Trudeau needs to go now. As for the tariff, I think we need to strike back hard, and continue the boycott of US goods. If we could, would be great do cut off all energy going to the States, but thanks to Trudeau, we don't have cross country pipelines to do that. BTW, Canada is not responsible for what comes into your country, we're responsible to keep things out we don't want in. That's the way these things are supposed to work, we're not East Berlin.

As an Australian who was born, raised, and has returned to VicDanistan... It's been a humiliating few years.\n\nBut when that same man's story has the added context of the fact that I happen to be here as a result of the path my (late) father took, coming here from Thunder Bay Ontario... The region our family had been in since the 17th century... and ironically live in Canadian, Victoria (so named due to the unknown Canadian killed in the Eureka Stockade).\n\nWhen I consider all that, it often feels as though the simulation is just trying to make jokes. \n\nBut I can assure you, it's not a life story that's easy to get behind, or laugh at. The maple leaf or even the southern cross are no star spangled banner, not in this current year, that's for sure.

From January to August last year, 23,358 migrants crossed Canada's border from USA side of the border. Migrants crossing the Canadian border from American soil are a lot higher that those going south.

You know what's crazy I bet as a white Canadian citizen and crossed the border went to a hotel shelter I'd be refused but if I was Indian or Hispanic or African I'd be sheltered 100% ?
2025-02-28 0
Canadian customs don't do shit they fly into Canada the Customs officers are Jeets so they ask no questions then they cross into the States illegally. Trudeau don't care.

ICE cannot ‘shut down the Canadian border’ The United States Border Patrol is responsible for who and what crosses into the United States - not Canada.
2025-02-25 0
why is Canada inviting criminals in so they can cross into the united states. There is something very broken in Canada, these criminals cant cross into the US they will be staying Canada which can not be good for hard working law abiding canadians

You must have a passport to cross the Canadian border. I visited Niagara falls and they check everyone on the bus.

Roxam rd is a way the immigrants use to cross to New York from Quebec Canada. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) protect that crossing and had journalists arrested for reporting on it. Canada has always backed the U.S. but a tyrannical government is collapsing our country just like the UK and Australia. WE NEED YOUR HELP. Stop trying to punish Canadians and HELP US get rid of this insane progressive liberal government that is choking the life out of Canadians. If not… Canada will become ChinIndia by the end of 2025 and will be fully controlled by tyrannical communism , and globalists.

In the fiscal year 2024 (October 2023 to September 2024), nearly 200,000 people were stopped by U.S. Border Patrol while crossing the border from the United States to Canada. This is a significant increase from the previous fiscal year. \n\nIt seems that it's a two way street. How come nobody talks about that? Don't take me wrong. I am pro-Trump Canadian, but fair is fair.

Im a jealous of these immigrants being able to abuse the system like this while natural born north Americans struggle, maybe I could illegally cross the border and claim I'm a Canadian citizen climate refugee fleeing old man winter to more temperate climate in order to survive.

I tell you what, I have been saying this about the Canadian border for more than 20 years. I used to love to drive to Ontario and it was SO easy through Detroit, Niagara, etc. But the thing NO ONE is talking about is the ability to get a BOAT or using a FERRY to cross the border all the time. It's so easy it's scary. ALSO there is an area of of the New York to Maine border that is mostly forest and with minimal roads/population. Our God only knows what is going on there. I have to say, that when I drove through this area in 2013 as a woman with her dog, I was afraid. I don't scare easily, and I trust my instincts. Something's got to change.

What… how could Trump have known… those aren’t south americans! Those are Canadians crossing illegally!
2025-02-23 0
Remember the illegal border crossing into Canada at Roxham Road, now the illegals are going from Canada into the USA. As a Canadian I say let them go to unburden Canada from supporting them.

Canada RCMP and Border Security Agents successfully stopped 83 million kg of cocaine being shipped through the USA from Mexico drug cartels for sale on the city streets in Canada. Estimated street value is $84 million dollars (Canadian). With the addition of military drones, drug sniffing dogs, X-ray scanners of all vehicles crossing the border check points between the USA and Canada, plus the addition of the Fentanyl Czar to Canada's Opioid Crisis Prevention, drugs are being stopped at the Canadian check points. Now, military drones and police are stopping the trafficking of humans into Canada from foreign countries.

I used to be stationed at Ft. Drum NY on the Canadian border. Why don't they use them troops to cut down on crossings around there. We were issued anactic gear and had to dig out Watertown every winter, so they are equipped to do maneuvers..
2025-02-23 0
People from the US also illegally walked over the Canadian border and entered Canada. Some of them died in winter conditions trying to cross into Manitoba.
2025-02-23 0
I'm Canadian...and we absolutely should stop the illegal border crossings. And here in Canada we should get all who get off the bloody plane hoping to run the border.
2025-02-23 0
This is fake news. Im a Canadian and no one is getting away with crossing the Northern border.
2025-02-23 0
The mayor of NYC was shipping bus loads of illegal migrants to the Canadian border for years! 50,000 a year have crossed into Canada from the US at the Quebec border. It was at Roxham Road. New York has been crappy neighbor's to Canada.
2025-02-23 0
How are they flying to Canada what Canadian are letting them cross
2025-02-23 0
I bet Donald Trump told them that if you continue to allow them to cross the Canadian US border that he’s going to send all the illegal aliens to Canada like Texas did to New York and California? and I’m sure there were some also monetary threats to mr. T. The Prime Minister.
2025-02-23 0
You know ! I am Canadian and my circle of acquaintain also have India's citizens who wanted to cross the border to the United States. Many have gone. That has been since 2000.

Now go to the Peace Arch on the Canadian border and watch all the Muslims crossing into the U.S. It is insane.
2025-02-23 0

Really bad policies that are destroying America. As a Canadian I’m so very sorry to my American friends, family and all patriots, that my alleged gov has allowed & encouraged, both into and out of Canada the most evil & vile ppl on Earth. They belong in neither country and must be permanently expelled & borders locked up tightly c/w only legal crossings at legal border crossings. So sorry America, we love ya’ll.

As a Canadian I can tell you that Trash is right, 16,000 illegal immigrants crossed into the United States from Canada last year. But... What Trash forgot to mention is that 263,000 illegal immigrants crossed into Canada from the United States last year as well! Let's build a wall and get Mexico to pay for it. The we can keep our 16,000 illegal immigrants and You can keep your 263,000 illegal immigrants. Then Trash mentioned that fentanyl is being smuggled into the United States from Canada. This is also true... But again... Only about one half of one percent is getting into the USA from Canada. California alone is letting in 68% of all of the Fentanyl that is in your country! Why isn't Trump doing anything about that? Why isn't Trash Boredom reporting on it?
2025-02-23 0
Plenty of migrants cross in the other direction, from the US into Canada. At one point, when Texas first started shipping migrants to New York City, New York City started bussing migrants up to the Canadian border. Google Roxam Road.
2025-02-23 0

2025-02-23 0
Please state your sources for the 16,000 crossing from Canada to the USA. Also, how many people cross, illegally from the USA to Canada and while you are at it how much drugs and guns cross the border from the USA to Canada? No wonder Canadians are fedup with America and its liar president,
2025-02-23 0
The core problem is not migrants crossing the Canadian border into the US illegally... It's the number of migrants being imported into Canada by its pink-socked tyrant and his Progressive cohorts.\n\nThe simple fact is that Canada is in desperate need of a mass deportation process that would make anything President Trump is planning pale in comparison. This would solve their rising crime, soaring unemployment, unbelievable housing shortage, and much, much more... INCLUDING the migrant spillover from Canada into the US.\n\nJust sayin'.
