You people from XYZ are really like the EU hypocrites that all you got is words. As a Canadian, I hate Trudeau and everything his government has done to the country. I want a PM like Trump that is willing go against the entire system(deep state) and dig out all the dirt even though you're in the way of a lot of powerful people and organizations. Out of all the world leaders today, Trump is the only one with that kind of courage. Compare that to Trudeau—aside from his nice suits and polished public image, what has he actually done to improve the lives of Canadians? \nWe need a DOGE go into WHY WE ARE PAYING SO MUCH TAXES. When I was living in Vancouver, I (and many ppl) would just drive cross the border to get gas and groceries because it's just much cheaper once you're on US soil.... For years we cannot retain any talents because they would just migrate to the states because the pay is much higher with less taxes. I used to live in a bubble thinking that even though life is tough and it's harding to make a living here but at least it's more peaceful here than the States. That is not the case anymore and everything is getting worse in the past 10 years.

I think it is time to use all the unused land to grow our vegetation and any thing else that gets planted to use for the Canadian. We do have the brain and the finances to grow our own fruit even if it takes a couple of years for the plants to produce the vegetation to supply the need. We need to manufacture our own goods. It is only one simple issue we will face but it is one we can handle! Oil, gas, car parts and cars...do it here and get some of the unemployed individuals Living on Provincial Checks off their butts and put them to work. I do not understand where all of you were before. The cars were more expensive, the canadian grown food was more expensive, the tv/cell/ internet providers were more expensive, insurances were more expensive, everything were more expensive and you expect me to support Canadian economy? Canadian here: I don’t agree with the WSJ that DJT is a very smart man. I think they are just being diplomatic and putting the emphasis on the actions, rather than speaking ad hominem. I think he is crafty, but not well-informed, or logical. Even if he is smart, he is not wise, and there is a huge difference. If you read Proverbs, you’ll see he has the traits of a nabal, a fool. I was glad that not too long ago... Trump actually did say the truth to the American people: Canada imports 95% of it's goods from the USA... with us refusing to buy American, with all of us buying Canadian or International products instead... how will he be making America great again ?? By bankrupting the country ?? Does he thinks that 25% tariffs will make Canadians shake in their pants and all of a sudden want to be the 51st State ?? No, it's just like bringing us back to the days before NAFTA. We were able to live back then and we will be able to now as well.

I support Trump and I support MAGA. However a president needs to keep his word and Trump appears to have broken his word here. He asked Canada to reign in illegal immigration to the US and Canada complied. He said do something about fetanyl and Canada did. Trump said the tariff's were because Canada was not acting on these but now they have and we imposed the tariff's anyway. We look like liars and cheats. \nEven with Mexico we threatened tariffs if they didn't help with crackdown on illegal immigration, fetanyl, and drug cartels. Mexico complied and is also helping us. And we still slapped tariffs on them. We lied to Mexico too. \nAnd now we want everyone to trust us to negotiate a peaceful end to the Ukraine war with Trump threatening more sanctions on China and the EU. What the heck should they trust us and believe us after what we just did. \nWhen it comes to defining your character your willingness to keep your word overrules absolutely everything else. Our president gave his word that if these countries took certain actions there would be no tariffs. They did and now he slapped them both in the face with sanctions anyway. He broke his word. This is a dishonorable action. I hope it does not escalate from there. \nIf it was about promoting or building domestic industries, I think the Canadians could have helped us with that but now.... good luck now that bridge has been burned.

He wants to do it with laws by getting Canada to join the USA. If that does not happen, he will use the military to do it, and Canada will be seen as the enemy of the USA allied with China. Trudeau admitted that without the welfare the USA has been providing to Canada, your economy will collapse. The Bank of Canada is bankrupt. The Canadian dollar is about to collapse. How will you feel next year when you need two dollars to buy what one dollar buys now? And plan on having fewer dollars to start with because your carbon tax, your sales tax, your income tax are all going up. WAY up. This is what happens when you decide to compete with a USA that is unshackled. The USA can produce more of our own oil than we can use, and we will sell the extra to YOUR foreign customers cheaper than you can produce it. Then you will be BEGGING for a pipeline. So Trump invited Canada to become a member of the most successful and powerful union of sovereign states in history, something that even our own territories of Guam, Puerto Rico, and all the others do not have. An invitation to be a bona fide member. Why do you think that is? Minerals? The USA has all the minerals we need. We have more oil, coal, and natural gas than any nation also, and we can produce and refine it cheaper than any country can. I’m a Canadian and no fan of Prime Minister Trudeau. It’s unfortunate the best speech he ever gave was after he resigned as Prime Minister. What he has said in this speech is absolutely true, despite the fact, I think Trump is doing some good things for the USA. This Terrif war with your neighbour is stupid. Unfortunately for us in Canada our Prime Minister has not given us the tools and freedom to grow economically and prosper the way we should have. Canadians should be living like Kings, but unfortunately are living paycheque to paycheque because of the stranglehold that our Prime Minister has put on businesses and its citizens. Now Canada has very little leverage, I believe to fight this Terrif war. I’m am Ukrainian Canadian and over the last few days I see how the new US government’s policy ruining everything we all believe in so dearly: democracy, friendship, helping shoulder to those who needs support against the bloody dictators, and firing thousands of people without cause who provided cybersecurity, guarded fairness of your elections… all being flashed down the toilet. And I watch it being replaced with bulling those who is bleeding, stabbing the friends and neighbors, singing praise to the war criminals charged for crimes against humanity with unlawful deportation and transfer of 20,000 Ukrainian children into russia. Children?! And I want to ask you a question: will you be a silent bystander watching the world plummet into the hatred, redivisions of borders and the rule of heartless convicted “deal makers”? I think I know who he made the deal with... And to those who voted for him: do you still believe this will lead you and your country to greatness?? One single fact that both Moscow and Beijing celebrate watching what’s happening should raise your eyebrows and question your decision to bring this man into power. Instead of making America great again the fight for saving America just began. God help you and all of us!

not sure how Canada imposing tariffs well over 200% (for decades) is being a good friend? I don't think Canadians know how much we carry you, not by buying your product, but by being severely ripped off by your government for your product. Lose the tariffs on us and we will reciprocate I'm sure.

Is Trudeau attempting to fool us into thinking he has our best interests at heart when he struggles to represent Canadians effectively? Didn't he once consider resigning because his own people disliked him? It will be the businesses and employees, not the politicians who are now trying to act tough. If we want this to turn into a real kinetic war, then turning off the taps may do it. \n\n We have seen countless times where politicians tell us what we want to hear, making us think they are heading is a certain direction, only to find they do the exact opposite. This proves you can not believe what career politicians say and have to go by what they do, or don’t do, instead. Yet now, they confidently declare that Canada will never become the 51st state. When you ALREADY have tariffs in place against the US you cannot claim Trump is starting a trade war. You started it. Now we have a POTUS with the sand to stand up for us not the world. Republicans understand that things will get tough. Liberals are already snow flakes that were in a melt down from the day Trump took office. We voted them out. I don't think Canadians are going to tolerate much for long unless you open the Treasury and give them money thereby bankrupting them. Drop your tariffs and Trump will drop yours. Is a win win.

Stock pile our oil and gas for our use and lower the prices of these things so that transportation cost make things easier for business and personal enjoyment. Don't tax the farmer so that they can supply food to everyone cheaper. We should not be struggling in this country which has all the natural resources . The unnatural population growth has put a strain on the whole system and in some cases put us in danger too. The crime rate has increased in large part to your lax immigration system. All the businesses increased the prices of everything due to this unnatural population growth. Supply and demand is not working the way it is supposed to anymore. In a normal household we make plans and prepare for changes. You just said ok, let's bring people here and forgot about the preparations. Infrastructure first man. If your going to bring half a million people over here, build the houses first bro. Nobody in Canada should be homeless which is another result of poor preparation. What a joke you are PM Trudeau! Do you really think your puny little 25% tariffs on America is going to hurt us? We, Americans, shall see you come begging, on your knees, for forgiveness?. Americans obviously didn’t understand what tariffs are, didn’t get that it’s an import tax which they must pay on goods and products they buy from Canada, a tax which tRump collects from Americans and uses to pay for tax-cuts for the richest citizens. But one more thing Americans don’t get is that before this fateful day an unofficial boycott against ALL US goods has been growing since tRump insulted Canada’s Prime Minister and threatened Canada’s sovereignty—whereas Canada’s official countervails ( which only kicked-in today )only target certain US goods, not ALL of them like ordinary Canadians are doing in growing numbers right now—in fact, the imposition of tRump’s tariffs today has only made the unofficial boycott bigger and more organized. It’s heartening that so many nations have solicited Canada, offering alternative sources for common US exports to Canada —citrus fruits, pharmaceuticals, and other manufactures, to name a few.\n\nI don’t think Canadians even realize how big this unofficial boycott is getting because it’s growing so fast. I’ve never seen a surge in Canadian patriotism like this. Never in my seven decades —which includes the two Referenda on Quebec separation. And there’s a federal election approaching when all partisans will be one-upping each other in the patriotism department—which manifests in more boycotts of US goods and hospitality services.\n\n Americans should know that the unofficial boycott is more harmful to US exporters than the official targeted countervails because it features immediate and longterm diminishment of Canadian purchases of US goods—all retailers know it’s very hard to recover lost customers once they’ve found alternatives (and the added patriotic effect only makes it worse). Most all the overseas US mfg might come home to moma. \nI would advise Trump to selectively wave tariffs on some items like lumber from Canada and food from mexico. As for oil from Canada I think Trump will let Chevron develop and buy heavy oil from Venezuela. If not might have to wave/reduce tariffs on Canadian diluted bitumen oil.

Let's see, make peace at reasonable cost with a man who's war with Ukraine showed the world that they cannot last in war with US on a military vs military bases; and the only option against the US is a nuclear, while Zelenskyy want's to use US as a deterrent against Putin, all while asking the US for billions. On the other hand, Canada, Mexico and Panama are being over ran by chinese businesses. People think this is against Canadians, Mexicans and Panamanians, but these tariffs are against chinese who are manufacturing in these countries and bypassing tariffs already in place by the US. The chinese are manufacturing in Canada and Mexico and placing (made in Canada/Mexico) and shipping those items to the US, while Canada and Mexico do nothing.

We are all living in strange times! The bad guy (Putin) is defended like he’s the good guy and the victim (Zelensky) is criticized like he’s the aggressor. Even though we as Americans might disagree with President Trump, we have to stand firm on some things here, the way PM Trudeau came on here and reversed this tariffs on the US after all we done with this is still an attack on us, we have to think broader and wider, I am a 22 year retired Navy vet and seen how these countries treat us and we have been taken advantage of, it’s time we stand firm. I love my Canadian brothers and sisters, but this more a government issue here.
