Present Canadian govt is dependent on DNP of Jagmeet Singh (Khalistani supporter). He can make Trudeau dance to his tune. Canadians of Indian origin mostly from Punjab are Khalistani sympathizers and they have fomented enough trouble locally in Canada and are primarily responsible for the poor relations between India and Canada. \n\nSecondly Indian emigration is of highly skilled work force consisting of doctors, scientists, financial experts, bankers, professors, businessman, politicians, and logistics business experts etc. They contribute to the treasury by paying the highest taxes than any other immigrant including european settlers. By and large Indians are peace loving people and excel in their fields. Now Indian origin people are into politics and Canada has a few MPs of Indian origin serving as ministers of defense, foreign affairs etc. \n\nThis xenophobia has to stop. Every wave of immigrants to the new continents have faced these problems be it Irish, Italian, Spanish, Dutch or East European immigrants. The process of assimilation takes a long time and in the meantime there would be some hiccups to which the society will eventually adapt. Every new immigrant group faces hostility from the earlier settled immigrants. It's much harder if the new immigrants don't look like the earlier settled immigrants. This is natural !!!.

Every one of you that are criticizing immigrants needs to sit back and zip your lip!! Have you sat back and wondered why immigrants are flocking into your countries (?? ????)? Your political leaders or governments started wars or economic policies that negatively impacted those countries which triggered a huge migration! 10-15 years ago, there was less migration as compared to now. Wars disrupt everything and rob people of their dignity! \n\nIf you people did not start wars in various countries lot of people wouldn't take those dangerous journies to come and sleep in shelters! Go to my house and set it on fire ?, I will definitely move to my neighbor’s house. \n\nAdditionally, every one of you who keeps bashing immigrants, except you're an Indigenous in Canada or ??, your parents migrated after WWI/II for a better life in America or Canada and born you there or here. \nSo, next time, when you try to bash immigrants ask your grandparents or parents where they actually came from. Bunch of hypocrites!! This world is a beautiful place for everyone to live in it. If people were not full of greed, we would not have even filled 1/3 of the earth. There will always be migration and no one can't stop it.

Ultimately, Canada is being taxed to high heaven, with little to no benefit coming back to citizen. We need to cut government, lower taxes on everyone making under 100k. One in four Canadians, and growing are living below the poverty line or homeless in such a traditionally stable and wealthy country, which indicates one thing, the country is broken and has been mismanaged or deliberately ruined by corrupt politicians and political parties. Bringing in migrants with little capital or skills just exasperated the problems and needs to be stopped before Canada becomes another Western failed state.

As baby boomers begin to retire and millenials stop having children, in 10 years Canada will face a massive deficit in workers. So much so that the only solution is to open our borders and train new young families to fill all the employment spots that are begging to open up. The average joe on the internet cant see Canada in 20, 30, and 50 years from now. We have good politicians that can. Its their job.

I am immigrant from East Africa and I love being Canada because culture. I came canada 18 yrs ago. Canada was different now and then. People who run out of visa should leave, sure, but it's basic human instinct to try and stick to the better place. Also, if you don't bring value to the country, you will be the first victim of deportation. If you had a valuable skill or strong academic accolades you would not be kicked out, but because you don't, you are getting kicked out, which is more than fair when a country cannot house you without hurting its own population. Two sides to all coins. \nThat said, I see that while the anonymous hate towards immigrants was always there, this atmosphere has changed the humble and polite Canadians into angry ones in open. I think it is government's fault for bringing people here, so we should point our anger correctly. They could ve stopped it at any point in time, but they didn't, and now people who came here like this good life, and yes it is coming at the expense of Canadians. I agree to that, but again, it's the government who bought them here, and filled their pockets, now as humans, immigrants want to stay at a better place. \nIf your read the whole comment. Don't blame India for this. Blame the vote bank politics of the liberal politicians you voted to power. These immigrants bring billions of dollars when they come here only to find a severely inefficient medical system and nothing in the name of jobs except factories, warehouses and Tim hortons. If you want change, push your government. Stop bringing anyone and everyone in. Your thumbnail is inaccurate too. A man with vermillion on his forehead is a Hindu. Most migrants from India are from the state of Punjab. Most of whom are NOT Hindus. The issue with Indian immigrants is that they have brought political disputes to Canada, including the involvement of the Indian government in the targeted killings of Canadian citizens of Indian origin. I'm all for immigration to help a country grow however, what Canada has done is first, bring in too many at once and not INTEGRATED the new comers. \n\nFact is, if you want to go to a country because of their freedom and job opportunity then don't come and try to change the country into what you just fled from!!\n\nAnd this is what has happened. Our own country, a country that designates french or English has signs and communities designated in foreign languages. This is not acceptable and is a cause creating divide. You come, you learn the language and INTEGRATE! We loved our country, you wanted to come for what our country has so don't try to turn it into the country you fled! And stop alienating the people who were here before you. \n\nSo, these are the two BIG ISSUES Canadians complain about. Rightfully so. \n\nI myself don't live in Ontario but find Alberta has become a foreign country and I feel like I am in danger now in my own lands. Integration is so important, and Trudeau bringing in millions in a short time line did not integrate but now caused a great deal of violence and many new comers confused and hateful to Canadians when they simply don't understand that what they have done is not integrate but are overtaking and we feel at war with them.

Trudeau has been pushing frightening press and internet censorship laws, freezing bank accounts of protestors he disagrees with, and now is pushing a bill to jail citizens for ill defined 'hate speech' where the accusers can remain anonymous- like when he called people complaining that Chinese espionage actors shipped live experimental viruses to Wuhan from our Winnipeg Virology labs in 2019 'racists' and silenced them for 'conspiracy theories and hate speech' because his cabinet was bought off by China and investing in Chinese banks. Basically by using outrage politics terms as a campaign platform and cover, it enabled him to push bills through that enact authoritarian powers like China and Russia use to control speech, communication, news, and citizens themselves without limit, all while stopping investigations into the intense govt corruption scandals. Canada stopped to offer opportunities. Bad political and administrative decisions(based mostly on greed) created a cap Canada can’t pass. It’s their bottleneck and I know many people that have moved to US where although is not all good still much better than Canada nowadays.

If you are sick and mediocre, Canada is a great place. Canada has no rights and the political system is solely controlled by the Americans and British. No offence to new immigrants but if you came here past 2018 you should not be allowed to buy a house until house prices get back to sane levels. I was born in raised in a small town surrounded by farmland in Ontario and the average cost of a home is now 700k. 20 years ago it was 150k. No one I grew up with can afford a home, I'm sorry but Canadians first. Other countries seem to care way more about their own people waaaay more than here. I feel like Canadians are constantly the ones who just have to suck it up. Its absolutely nonsense. Either something has to happen or I, and many Canadians in the same position will leave. Canada sucks at the moment, do not come here! Almost everyone I talk to who is born here agrees, lib, con, ndp, doesn't matter what political party they usually vote for, they want immigration to stop, and homes to be built. We're at the breaking point.

Canada was conceived by the British. They wanted to stop the Americans from taking over their holdings. Canada does not work geographically, politically or economically any longer, it never really did. Just look at the history of the west, Louis Riel, Quebec's submission, maritime poverty, etc. This 19th century British Imperialist experiment has failed. The Federal government is taxing and mishandling the billions of dollars it hoards. It doesn't seem to matter what party is in Ottawa, they all stay up late at night dreaming up ways to screw over the Canadian citizens.Housing? Why do people get shoved into these expensive and ugly mansions? What family needs more than 1800 sq. ft.?

This is true of so many larger cities in the US and Canada. The main issues are affordability and mental health. Now as folks find themselves homeless, many start to self medicate (major drug problems). And by the way, many move into the larger cities hoping to find services or a way to survive, so they are not all native to those larger cities. In the US, I found driving from Portland OR to the Bay Area that many homeless now live in rural areas as well. I wish I had a real solution, we all know that it will take money, which no one wants to put out. Whichever direction it goes (incarcerating folks is way more expensive then mental health and housing services), it will take a lot of time to correct these issues. I do wish that people would stop pointing political fingers and work on solutions.

I married my spouse and moved to the United States from Canada. Before, I didn't give the US much thought and merely loved travelling to a few of the locations. Having said that, even after spending five years there, I have never witnessed a country and a population as divided as the US. You proudly display your flag, yet you're so racist, illiterate, and a bible-thumper that it disgusts me. The United States is not the most free country in the world, despite what the public believes and thinks. In reality, it is also depressing to observe how the healthcare system handles people. The social safety net is completely missing, and by that I mean that most jobs don't pay for maternity leaves or vacations unless you work at a senior level or for a high-end company. The political system is so rigged that it is understandable why people are tired of voting every two years, and perhaps even every year. Most certainly, especially since your elections begin almost exactly when the previous one finished. I suppose I could go on forever, but I'll stop here. Although Canada is not perfect, is not free from controversy or problems, and is not the best at everything, we are able to concede defeat, acknowledge that someone was wrong or that we might have done better, work together with one another, and express that we are SORRY. Yes, it is a word that is never used in the US, and that is also the issue. I'm pleased to be back in Canada, where I belong, and I regret ever leaving. Yes, returning to Canada feels peaceful and inviting compared to travelling to the US, where every trip involves an interrogation to ensure that you don't remain too long. There is no need to worry because I won't be returning to stay, only visit, as previously.

Canadian here - lived in the US for 5 years, moved for work and then quickly found I was in golden handcuffs and had way less job mobility due to my healthcare being tied to my job. In Canada there’s so much more freedom to grow professionally. Moved back because of that and also culturally I missed the community feel. Also - the politeness, even something as little as ordering food in the states bugged me. No one says please or thank you - it’s ‘I’ll get a number 4’ instead of ‘can I get a number 4’ - pretty small difference but once I noticed it I couldn’t stop.

For all the amazing things the US has to offer, right now we don't even want to visit there, let alone move there. We've talked about it a lot, but nope. In Canada, generally speaking (although there are exceptions to every rule) we have no idea what political leaning our neighbors favor. Political campaigns last no more than 51 days; they do not start the day after the last election and go on for years. This way, elected officials actually do some work instead of campaigning. Right now, the politics in the US, as well as the judiciary, are literally insane. Gun violence in the US is insane, as is the attitude towards guns. It shouldn't take a shooting that affects you personally to make you care about it, and it's not just at schools. The US has had 28 mass killings, with 140 victims, in 6 months... but the problem is that no one down there cares about that enough to stop it, or even discuss ways to stop it. The politics is so sold out to corporations that what is good for the people just doesn't matter. It is capitalism run amok. Environmental protections? They are an inconvenience, and most of them were rolled back a few years ago under the presidency of He Who Must Not Be Named. So politics, elections, shootings... but wait. There's more. I have a wonderful friend in the US who has amazing health care, and yet when he got cancer, he was screwed. We do pay a health care premium up here, but it is a drop in the bucket compared to what people in the US pay for private insurance. Yes, you have the best hospitals in the world, but it doesn't matter if you can't afford to walk in the door. Now dump the intolerance -- racism, homophobia, religious zealots, misogyny (yes, I am talking women's rights, equal pay, access to health care, etc) -- throw in the crazies with guns, and now ask the question again. I absolutely know that Canada is not perfect, and that the tolerances and attitudes towards all these subjects differs from region to region, but overall we are a country that tries to respect the rights and needs of others, that has empathy for others, that wants to help others, and that is a pretty firm foundation to make us want to stay here. (please don't interpret this as all Americans and all areas of the US have no respect etc... but the predominant issues of health care, politics, religion, corporate greed, and violence, now all supported by a bat-crap crazy SCOTUS, sadly spills and taints it all. I know there are amazing, generous, kind people all over the US, but I don't know where the crazies are or where they might pop up).

I am Canadian and live on the east coast.. still not a bad place to live overall but the cost of living and the toxic political cesspool here is making it very difficult. \nMy wife and I went to Thailand recently and absolutely loved everything about it. I have not stopped thinking about the idea of relocating to there. \nI am pretty well done with Canada mentally.

I moved to Canada from the US a few years ago. I lived in the US for over 30 year and the US government is a JOKE. Congress never got anything done regardless on what party is in office. If you're gay or trans I wouldn't move to the US because it's been very dangerous for that community especially in red states. The US still can't get better gun control to stop all of the mass school shootings yet and they think TikTok is the main threat right now. You can see where their priorities are. During my career - I an recently retired - I was located in a few other countries and Canada still remains a great country with opportunties . I also know that most who claim they will never come back almost always do because there comes the point where they are older and have health issues and in most cases they come back to Canada. At the same time, we are charged excessive fees for internet and cell phone useage. I note that both major political parties ( the Liberals and the CPC) ever take any real action to address the excessiv charges rendered by Shaw, Rogers, Bell Media, and similar conglomerates .

I'm Canadian and I love both Canada and the US. However, I don't think I would live permanently in the US because I think life is better in Canada overall. We have free healthcare, so no medical bills and no health insurance to deal with. Only a bigger tax bill that doesn't change according to your health situation. We have much less crime, especially gun related crime. We have less poverty and a much better social safety net. It horrifies me how many Americans are homeless even if they previously had a good job, but they had to stop working because of a health condition. We have less political extremism and polarization. Extremist Christians have no control over our politics, so LGBTQ+ rights and women's rights are much safer here than in the US. We don't have cities being burnt down by antifa on one side, and elections and social peace being jeopardized by MAGA extremists on the other. On a more positive note, I love the weather of the US, their fast food joints, their local food, the landscapes, the cheaper gas and all the attractions. I really wish the US could solve all its problems and become a better country. Maybe one day, we could end up similar and open our borders like Europeans do with the Schengen Accord.

Eh we were all in the same boat as these people or our ancesters were. some of us were taken by the British and forced to come here. So stop whining and be polite to our guests. the government should be building towns on our North shore so we can start selling our resources and Canada could b e a very wealthy country. But too many that have been here for generations still hold their hand out. Even taking from our country for crimes committed years ago by some one thats been dead for years . and it wasn't them that the crime was done to.
