I am trying to get my Architect's license but immigration Canada keeps giving all the Intern Architect jobs to immigrants instead of Canadians like me who want to build more housing. If you want more housing then you need to give future real estate developers like me a job as an Intern Architect. I can't build houses if I am unemployed.

Trudeau's words are smoke and mirrors a bit imo. Liberals will go forward with an additional 20% carbon tax dispitie the tariffs occurring. Trump isn't the only one that is harming Canada in one way or another. Trump is forcing Canada to do better with our borders and crisis's that had not been addressed quickly enough. We (Canada) allowed these issues to get out of hand and it took another country to tell us that we needed to do better because the issues affect them as well. I'm stating facts here and now we Canadians will suffer for all of it.

Canada has been acting as part of US for years, taking orders from the US regardless of Canadian interest, for example arresting Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou per US order. Why not agree to become the 51th state of the US?

Has anybody ever even mentioned that border control happens at the country that you enter? Sure this was necessary, but don't forget Trudeau has been putting tariffs on Canadians for a while with carbon tax and was planning to quadruple it. Trump might not be the hero for America, Trudeau is for sure the villain of Canada.

Our borders aren't safe. Trudeau opened up our borders to allow all these immigrants into our country and mow have ISIS terrorist here in Canada. Trudeau is the biggest terrorist in this country. I effectively spent a chunk of my childhood in America with relatives. I treasured these memories, but now all the feelings of wonder and happiness when thinking of my visits to America have faded. You have essentially been taken over by a global entity that doesn’t care about democracy. We are going to manufacture our own weapons to have zero dependency on America. That makes no sense to buy weapons from the country threatening to invade you. \n\nHow will America feel to be totally alone in the global stage all under the power of one unstable man with multiple personality disorders. Trump things Putin is Americas friend and meanwhile in Russian media America spoken of as enemy number one. Meanwhile, America is 30% full of people with such little education in politics that they do not even know what is considered red flags to democracy. The 20% needed to shift will see the light once the worst man made intentional recession begins and the billionaires buy up 30% of your homes and buildings. Nothing at all will be outside of billionaire and corporate control and now all your data is in AI. how did all American value fall in just one month. Trudeau does not represent Canadians. He has had a minority government for years. Trudeau was finally forced to resign months ago. He should not be speaking on our behalf. He suspended parliament and refuses to call an election. No decision / agreement can be made re. Tariffs, etc. because technically we have no leadership right now. Tariffs have been threaten for months, and the Liberals have made no moves to do what’s right for Canada. He is using this as an opportunity to regqin power. He is not a man of the people.

This is wrong. Canada / Canadians are our friends and allies. This is not how allies treat allies. I feel like I need to apologize to Canada.

It will be tough for both sides, the US and Canada. But the Canadian government has its people's support, while the majority of US citizens do not support Trump and his government. The US will be a sad, lonely planet in the middle of the world. Shame!

That fact that the Prime Minister speaks of Canada as a whole and for all Canadians speaks volumes. Where Donald always speaks against our country not being one.

This is not anti-American, it is just fighting back from an unnecessary trade war. It does however break my heart because many Canadians have family on the U.S. side. I know it would also break my father’s heart as he grew up in New England and had a lifetime affection for the U.S. I despise politics and have not been a proud Canadian for a few years but I have to admit that this speech is getting me going again. Canada needs to get its act together and rebuild its military, not to fend off the U.S. but to hold its own should other countries decide we are ripe for the picking. I want U.S.-Canada relations to be tight again. We’re neighbor. We will have our disagreements and that’s fine but these trade wars will hurt everyone and, if it lasts, may leave lasting grievances.

It makes me sad because my girlfriend is Canadian, and I love Canada as an American.

I’m a 53 year old Canadian. I went to college on an athletic scholarship & lived there for 10 years after turned professional in my sport. Why, why, why - with all the problems going on in the world right now to tackle - why would you want to start a trade war with your closest trading partner & most loyal ally? Not to mention that your list of Allies is shrinking daily. This is not going to end well for either of us. \nI just arrived home from a trip to the grocery store - making sure nothing in my cart said “ made in the USA” on it due to the new tariffs that began today. \nThe irony is, many of the states where Trump won by the biggest margin, are the states that are going to get hit the hardest from Canadian retaliation tariffs ( Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Indiana, the Dakotas - just to name a few). A lot of farmers in those states are going to be hit extremely hard with the fertilizer tax. After Canada, the next 3 largest Potash producers are Russia, Belarus & China. So , good luck \nWhen the cost of fruit & vegetables skyrocket across the US. Maybe you’ll put a little more thought into your vote 4 years from now.

Trudeau has had his up and downs in Canadian politics over the years, with the ever present divide between Conservatives and Liberals here in Canada, but one thing is for sure, he's a true statesman, who speaks with wisdom from the heart, and for that is respected around the world. Trump would be smart to take notes from Trudeau, a man with considerably more skill, etiquette and experience in the field of political leadership, both hear at home, and on the world stage.

I have not always been a fan of Trudeau, but I have to give it to him today. You spoke with care, adressing the issues and standing up for Canada amidst this hard time. You deserve a standing ovation. Thank you Justin. I am a proud Newfoundlander, but also Proud Canadian. Hoping that hopefully Trump will choose to work with us not against us. Canada is 347 0ut of 348, global container ports, Trudeau stymied growth, infrastructure, and Canadas future, he blames the USA, for his only push three issues, LBGt, carbon tax and Dei... Why no new industries built in Canada, we essentially only sell cars and oil to the USA at 20% discount. Try buying Canadian, but these are all foreign products, because Canadian bureaucracy and poor productivity, ie, unions and government employees all at home. EXAMPLE, after owning hunting rifles for sixty year, Trudeau minions, contacted my at least six time when I attempted to renew my firearms licence, even phoning my wife for a old man... Go figure, Trudeau only knows how to Hire voters... The problem is Trudeau, you voted for it so now you will pay!!!
