I'm an American with some family ties to Canada and I'm deeply ashamed of how my government under Trump is systematically destroying it's historic relationships with almost all our allies. Trump and his cronies are only interested in the use of raw power to dominate the current geo-political reality. This current regime is transmuting Trump's anger at the whole world into punitive measures. Tariffs will raise inflation, bullying and fingerwagging gratuitous. To use fentanyl and human trafficking and illegal border crossings as an excuse is chicken. Canada accommodated US by setting up commissions to combat each. So...what is the real schtick here? He is gonna alienate everybody but Putin.

I know a lot of people don't care for Trudeau. I am actually pretty impressed with him, and on his way out, he is showing his strength and intelligence. Trump has placed himself in a corner. He's completely incompetent. Because he is a bully and thinks people will roll over, he is going to look weak when he has to roll them back. When Canada cuts off the water, car parts, etc. and people start losing jobs such as car manufacturing, there will be a price to pay.
