How truly sad and disgusted I am at Trump's attack on Canada, Mexico and all his allies. It is beyond comprehension that Trump is being allowed by the Congress and the Senate to trample on the Allies of the USA. I am in Australia and I feel the concern and the pain being suffered by Canadians, historically the like us, alllies of the USA, because of the treachery and betrayal by the USA, whilst supporting despots like Putin in its attacks on our democratic way of life. We are in dangerous times indeed. Where we end up only God knows. I know onr thing for sure God is not on the side of the USA in its treachery.

Trump is trying to end a war it’s not the same thing. We don’t need Canada if you haven’t been to America then you don’t know. We can make whatever you can make and better we can grow anything and more then you can just bc of regional weather. Canada is mad bc they make a lot of money off of us and trump is changing America and getting what it’s worth. America always pays more for imports and exports , why? and yet with out American people buying y’all’s stuff you your government will fall gotta keep last and for most gotta keep Canadian politicians payed as far as I know y’all haven’t had to worry about prices in y’all’s country. For years we have been paying more for stuff that should be made here or we pay less. Plain and simple we are getting what we are worth take it or leave. It will be funny when he cuts all exports from Canada it will take a little bit but we will compensate ans there gonna with they just took the 25% little saying over here is you never know what you got till it’s gon.

Unfortunately Trump supporters won't listen to a word of this. Trump is just trying to weaken the Canadian economy so they're more willing to join us. Trying to strong arm every country surrounding the U.S. I want you to know that most Americans are against this shit.

I grew up 30 min from the Canadian border. Canada has always been a neighbor and a friend. I cannot believe what has happened to our government and I did not vote for this. The majority of America does not want this and do not want Trump. Please know that.

I am hopeful that in Canada someone better than Trudeau very soon takes his place.

Canadian here, Trump knows our common border is not a Fentanyl highway. He is deliberately destroying our economies and needs to be held accountable for this. He also needs to be accountable for his ongoing bromance with Putin as disgusting as that sounds. Man is a psycho.

Trump is a bully. He knows that Canada is vulnerable. Trump wants the Auto industry in Canada moved to the U.S.. This will increase the cost of vehicles in the U.S. Trump does not care. If he can harm Canada he will be pleased. He wants to control Canada.. Canada is guilty of not arranging an alternative to the Keystone pipeline. The U.S. refineries need the Canadian heavy oil. If Canada had created pipelines to Vancouver they would be in a better position but as it is Trump wins.

I was never a fan of Trudeau, but compared to Trump he is a breath of fresh air. Give it 3 years and 10 months and Americans will be back to sanity. Don't know if America will be in one piece though. After the three stooges have fired everyone, and taken away their social security, and our soldiers dying for no reason against our allies, and the VA system disbanded from helping past soldiers who made sacrifices for this country, while the dollar has lost most of its value, while inflation is through the roof....yes it will be tough. To our Canadian and Mexican neighbors, do what you have to do to inflict pain on the meatheads in America who think Trump is their savior. They need to be taught a valuable lesson.

In California but 1000% Team Canada. I am actively seeking out Canadian products to replace those from red states. (Canadian Mist, Crown Royal and many others are excellent replacements for Kentucky whiskeys.) I hope (and expect) that Blue State governors are working with Canada and our other allies to put the squeeze on Trump-supporting states and industries. While I hold out little hope that Trump cultists will ever not be brainwashed, putting them through direct and maximum pain is the only possible way out. Canada, elbows up! I was very disappointed with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. While I have always been pressed by his superior leadership record and skills especially with his spectacular response to the impending tariffs by travelling to UK and Europe and talking about trading with Europe and East Asian countries.\nWhat a disappointment when he called Putin a murderous dictator. Justin, let’s look at the record of your friends in the West. USA has over decades bombed and killed millions of Muslims in Arab countries. Today the murders continue to go one without a peep from you or your western leader friends. In the last week the US has bypassed Congress to ship billions of dollars of bombs to Israel so Israel can with these US bombs cleanse Gaza. They suppy the mexican cartels these drugs to make and sell which comes across Mexican borders into the US. If china regulated the precursor drugs it could stop fentanyl manufacturing in its tracks. Again 10% tariffs vs 25% tariff. Americans obviously didn’t understand what tariffs are, didn’t get that it’s an import tax which they must pay on goods and products they buy from Canada, a tax which tRump collects from Americans and uses to pay for tax-cuts for the richest citizens. But one more thing Americans don’t get is that before this fateful day an unofficial boycott against ALL US goods has been growing since tRump insulted Canada’s Prime Minister and threatened Canada’s sovereignty—whereas Canada’s official countervails ( which only kicked-in today )only target certain US goods, not ALL of them like ordinary Canadians are doing in growing numbers right now—in fact, the imposition of tRump’s tariffs today has only made the unofficial boycott bigger and more organized. It’s heartening that so many nations have solicited Canada, offering alternative sources for common US exports to Canada —citrus fruits, pharmaceuticals, and other manufactures, to name a few.\n\nI don’t think Canadians even realize how big this unofficial boycott is getting because it’s growing so fast. I’ve never seen a surge in Canadian patriotism like this. Never in my seven decades —which includes the two Referenda on Quebec separation. And there’s a federal election approaching when all partisans will be one-upping each other in the patriotism department—which manifests in more boycotts of US goods and hospitality services.\n\n Americans should know that the unofficial boycott is more harmful to US exporters than the official targeted countervails because it features immediate and longterm diminishment of Canadian purchases of US goods—all retailers know it’s very hard to recover lost customers once they’ve found alternatives (and the added patriotic effect only makes it worse). Included is diminishment of Canadian visits to the USA. Indeed, the internet is replete with testimonies of Canadian”snow birds” not only forgoing their annual sojourn in the Florida or Arizona sunshine but also of selling their properties there with the parting shot, “I will never vacation in the US again!” Already Mexico has seen its visits from Canadians (who have had a modest presence in Mexico for years) surge to unprecedented levels. I know from much-welcomed temp Mexican construction workers in BC (where I live) that they view Canadians completely differently from our mutual US neighbours—and now that affection is growing like never before. \n\nI’m continually amazed at how uninformed Americans are about tariffs—and misinformed by tRump and his goofy, preposterous, and ridiculous fantasy of world-domination. When tRump uses the lame excuse to implement emergency powers —that Canada is “allowing” (as Vance puts it) fentanyl to “pour into the USA”—it’s tantamount to saying Ukraine started the war with Russia. They sell it to an Apple subsidiary call it Apple international located in a low tax or no tax domicile for $300. So No income tax. Say they sell it to Apple USA for $700 . No taxes owed by Apple international . Apple USA sells it in US for $700. Bought it for $700 = no taxes owed. BUT APPLE CLEARED $400 CASH. \nThat's with no tariffs. Now with 20% tariffs on China , the iPhone full import price $700 (sale price). is taxed(tariffs) x 20% = $140. Trump wants 20% corporate rate extended and ultimate 15% corporate rate. Most all the overseas US mfg might come home to moma. \nI would advise Trump to selectively wave tariffs on some items like lumber from Canada and food from mexico. As for oil from Canada I think Trump will let Chevron develop and buy heavy oil from Venezuela. If not might have to wave/reduce tariffs on Canadian diluted bitumen oil.

We are all living in strange times! The bad guy (Putin) is defended like he’s the good guy and the victim (Zelensky) is criticized like he’s the aggressor. I called the Canadian embassy in Washington DC this morning. I told them as an American citizen. It saddens me and breaks my heart that we are treating our allies with such disrespect. I do not stand with the United States government and their treatment of our allies. I also called the Mexican embassy and told them the same thing.
