The great replacement is happening fellow canadians before trudeau. We are getting replace by the 3rd world by our government. I am asian so as all color of canadian this is whats happening to us! Canadians cannot afford to buy a home, eat, fuel yet bring in more 3rd world to make affordibility even more out of reach!

If i compare Today's Canada with my home country Greece during crisis period(2010-2017), the wages in my country was, and still is crap but the good thing was the extremely cheap housing due to a housing crash. That helped me buy two properties. Now it's almost impossible to be a first time buyer. Now also, especially after covid, the energy cost, food cost, made even people like me who are owners struggling to cover daily costs(living in my own property and renting out the other + working overtime). I decided to move to Copenhagen, but i quickly realised that it's not much better, and i couldn't use my qualifications. Now i'm working double the average person here to be able to afford to buy a sh*tbox in a smaller city, and i cannot sell any property back home bc i will pay a huge capital gain tax as a Danish tax resident. My rental income from Greece can't help to get bigger mortgage in Denmark, but i think my income is enough for anywhere outside Cph. ...i don't want to imagine how Canadian cities, London, Australian cities are for the average renter/1st time buyer!

It's a lot harder for full born Canadians and 30+ Canadian citizens alone to survive given the insane cost of living. And yet, Canada can't even afford to welcome immigrants and refugees, but still open the doors. I got nothing against them coming here. But if the government cannot even fix this problem with their own people, then WTH

I'm a canadian in my late 20s and now I can't even afford a home. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against all the people that have came here, but there has been too many in too short of a time period. The government should've propped up the infrastructure to accommodate these immigrants before initiating this plan of overimmigration. Sure you are giving us a first time home buyer credit and only allowing individuals with a PR to purchase a home, but there is still an underlying issue of how born and raised citizens are now struggling. I cannot imagine how much worse it is for those who are coming here for an education. Not to include the lack of jobs, it is a tough job market out there as well, I may have to move to the US to have a professional career, which is not ideal because I want to stay in Canada.

I came here as an international student, back then you could only get your PR if you studied at an accredited university, not a career college. Back then skilled workers were required, and that is how you were able to get a PR. Canada has changed so much, multicultural has left and more and more there are two cultures dominating. I came here because I use to visit for our annual holidays then decide I liked the culture and wanted to study here. The landscape has shifted , Canadians will soon be the minority and that is not the Canada I want to be paying taxes in. \nThere are always protesters waving foreign flags demanding that the government help their families, love ones in another country, meanwhile Canadians here are loosing their homes , can't afford food, basic life necessities and living in tents. Charity should start at home first.\nResponsible tax payers cannot afford to have kids, why because the taxes we pay are too high, if we're struggling to survive why would we subject a child into this world to experience the same. However, there are millions of dollars in incentives for people who never paid in to come to Canada with their extended family members who are dependent on government support, that we the taxpayers have to finance. The aging population could be address if the affordability could be address for citizens living here and PAYING taxes. If the government wants to bring in aging populations who never worked in Canada, their families should be funding their living here including healthcare, not taxpayers. Invest in your people first , help Canadians become more skilled to fill positions that there are shortages, lower taxes to allow Canadians to have said families and replenish the population , these are the people who would always put Canada first.

The real issue is that Canada cannot *afford* skilled talent or educated Indian immigrants. Most of the people moving to Canada are from villages in India or people who arent educated. The Canadian PR is almost like a joke to anyone with a job in India.

Canada cannot make its own money. So what does it do? It has to figure out unethical ways to bring in money. This is done by bringing in immigrants. There is multiple birds with one Stone hit here. Meaning gives immigrants the lie of a better life. So they take all their money that they have in their nation. And they bring it here. That's free money that Canada did not have to work for and now other nations have lost. then they lied to them and tell them that they can get anything they want. For me to get a franchise here while owning other businesses was IMPOSSIBLE 5 yrs ago. But these guys with no credentials are getting it right away. I wasn't allowed to modify my house or rent by law. And they are now allowing all of that. My mother had an international driver's license from France and she had to go through hoops to get her licence here. They are handing things over with no screening to these people which is cause instability and chaos. No structure. They let them bring their huge money here and put into franchises with no credentials. Bank loans free approval no questions asked. Meanwhile, most of those franchises will never make any money. Then they will take that money also, and put it into homes. Rent etc, and this is the part where they basically drain the immigrant money in an instant and put it into Canada economy. Now that you have all these immigrants buying all these businesses. Now you need slave work, so you start Bringing it more immigrants to work those slave jobs. Because in the 1990s, all the way up to 2010. You were encouraging Education. During that time Education was the money Maker. So you kept pushing that. Billions went to universities. Telling people that they'll have a better future. That was the lie of that time. Now you want the same people to work min wage jobs. Now immigration is a bigger Money maker. They say they're bringing in these guys Because they want to work these jobs that a canadians don't want to work. That's because you just made those fake jobs by creating more immigrants to come here have franchises that need minimum wage jobs. But you also promised the rest of us that if we worked hard enough, we will get better jobs. So why would we want to resort to minimum wage jobs on top of you ruining the market for housing inflation taxes etc? How could we even afford while working Minimum wage jobs. And that's why they're bringing people in here. This goes deeper than it seems. socialism. then they get mad At us and demand more taxes and more money. But Canada is a closed system. So how can we afford giving you more than we're making? This insanity has to stop. This chaos needs to stop.

We don't need more Uber, Skip or cab drivers or pretengineers with Master's degrees from U of Deli or some other unknown school who don't know s**t. I'm a 1.5 gen Canadian from Toronto, immigrated here with my parents when I was 5, I'm 24 now and making over 100k annually but I cannot afford to buy a home here. Accepted a job offer in Pennsylvania because I can actually afford to buy a home there, settle down and actually have a life - goodbye Canada.

nothing is free in Canada . in 2024 the average Canadian cannot afford to buy a house anymore . if you are married then it becomes easier , but once you get divorced. you wont be able to even rent a place due to the cost of losing everything . the country has gown to shit, example two bedroom in albert 1250 old building, new building 1400, car payment 300-600 dollars, car insurance 300-400 dollars for new drivers and the list goes on

I used to teach and coordinate programs for international nurse, this is spot on - and I have always wondered about Canadian students getting into programs - we need Canadian students who are talented and want to study but cannot afford it. There is so much i could unpack. In general, most of the students are lovely and hard-working, but the intent in most cases is to get a PR status - so most of them stay. Many also are disappointed with Canada - as they may come from a place where they were in a different social class. I know many of my students now are productive members of Canadian society working in their chosen fields. I am proud of them - as the move was not easy and they left their families behind. Considering that most of the world is a collectivist culture versus our individualist culture of the West, there is much to adjust to. Good piece.

think about it , up to 90% of the school funding come from international student. Without them , I cannot imagine if local student can afford the tuition. If schools can still hire the best professors. And how many people may loss their job. Why can’t we think of education industry just like any other pillar economic sector similar to finance, manufacturing. The only thing we need to solve is housing. I am a dual USA and Turkish citizen. I highly recommend migration to Turkiye. I don't recommend Istanbul because it is too crowded, costly, and inflationary. Have you considered fight instead of flight? Any government support for isNOTreal is top down tyranny. Failing , that’s the right word. Canada keeps taking new immigrants ( mostly undocumented & refugees) over staying tourists. Not deporting. Lack of affordable housing/ apartments. Cost of living is too high & taxes. Minimum wage don’t match reality. Highly educated or degree holders are great & still don’t appreciate how lucky they are. No matter how successful & achieved a good job professionally when you retire, they put you back below poverty as senior. Max government pension is about $1,600 . How can you afford decently & independently to live alone. Not enough to rent a bachelor apartment. Government housing nowadays gives priorities to new / refugees / non documented immigrants than real average Canadian citizen who works hard for years. Long waiting lists for affordable housing Thank God & to myself alone , I started early & fought for my well deserved affordable housing after I retired otherwise, no way I cannot live decently as a senior like others who didn’t contribute much during their early years to the government. It's a misconception to assume that the US medical care is always better, or that the wait times in Canada are a lot longer.\nWhile there's no question the quality of care depends on where you live, rural areas in both countries don't typically have specialists or all the latest equipment. Major urban areas are much better served.\nAlso, the measured outcomes for many types of surgical procedures are often statistically better in Canada, with higher success rates and better recoveries for many types of procedures. The big difference is because more Canadians have regular check-ups, problems are typically caught sooner, before they become serious. That's a big reason why our life-span is several years higher, and our infant mortality is much lower than the US. Because of the extra co-pay costs or because they don't have insurance and cannot afford basic medical care, many Americans put off doctors visits until they're really sick. \nDuring a routine check-up I was diagnosed with a minor heart condition last September. Was able to see a specialist within 5 weeks. That specialist sent me to a heart surgeon a few weeks later who scheduled an Arterial Ablation day surgery in December. (I walked out 6 hours later...) Lots of pre-surgical and post surgical testing and follow-up. As it turned out, the other side of my heart also required the same surgery, and by March that was completed successfully too. Again, multiple follow-ups and tests, and I've got a totally symptom-free outcome.\nI had a hip replacement a few years ago that went well and resulted in a totally pain free hip that allowed me to return to normal activities I could no longer enjoy before surgery.\nTotal cost in the US for both these types of surgeries would have likely been well over $100,000. The most I paid was for the hospital parking...\nIs it better in Canada? - Absolutely...!!!

In my opinion if you move to Canada without taking the proper steps and expect everything to work out for you then you are very naive and cannot complain. First off a lot of Kenyans are applying for visitor visas instead of work visas which are harder to get and thinking once they are in Canada they can look for work. You are not allowed to work on a visitor visa and most employers will not even consider your applications if you do not have either a work permit, refugee status, or permanent residency/ citizenship. Work experience is also very important here and many employers will not consider someone even with canadian education that has no experience. Another thing is Canadian benefits such as subsidized health care etc is only available to people that are on long term work permits with no conditions, refugees, and permanent residency holders and government housing is only open to refugees and permanent residency holders/ citizens. So in short if you move there without a plan, the correct papers, and the willingness to work even lower income jobs until you get Canadian work experience and expect the government to help you just because you landed then you are sorely mistaken and will very easily end up on the streets. Another thing is just because you are granted refugee status does not guarantee you a home as we have seen, the government housing waitlist is very long and even Canadian citizens that cannot afford their rent end up on the streets because there are too many people applying for housing. So please do not think just because you were allowed to stay as a refugee life will be sweet. \nHowever if you do your research and take the right steps so you are fully prepared, put in the time and effort even though things may not be happening immediately then you can have a success story.

The States is wonderful in many ways, but the your private health care system is dreadful. People die because their HMOs tell Americans what diagnostic tests they can or cannot afford. I read that one in four US families go bankrupt because of huge medical bills NOT covered by their insurance. Also the gun situation would give most Canadians pause. In Canada, only hunters, trappers, remote forest workers and cops carry guns. Last but not least: the right wing MAGA goons terrorizing people for flying Pride flags freak me out. Canada is a free country. We have bigots and thugs here too — but they don’t run the show the way they do in so many places in the States.

I've only ever lived in Canada, but have been to many parts of the US, and my honest answer is: probably not. Don't get me wrong, there are many places and things in and about the US that I like, but, unless I was offered a job that was too good to turn down, I don't think I could ever live there. One of my closest friends is American, and lives only a few short hours away, but...Possible exceptions would be places like Maine or Vermont. I've read a stat numerous times over the years, that there about as many people in the US who cannot afford health insurance than there are people in all of Canada. It's a shame because the USA has top tier medical facilities, but access is not guaranteed.\n\nPS: from a Canadian perspective, I really enjoy your honest reactions, and applaud your efforts to educate yourself. No, I wouldn’t. I just moved from Vancouver to London, uk. Lots of people asked why I didn’t move to New York. Main reason is health care. I’m a self employed hairstylist and no one is providing health care for me. Second is gun violence in general, mass shootings are a big issue, just because it hasn’t happened in your small city, doesn’t mean it won’t. Mass shootings are just the most extreme version of gun violence. I don’t want the people walking down the street next to me to possibly be carrying a gun on them. That is truly terrifying to me. Third is that politics are so extreme and so prevalent. Lastly the fact that women’s rights are being taken away. I absolutely cannot support a country with very little benefits and aid for those who cannot afford to have a child, that then makes them have a child. That’s the briefest way I can explain my feelings, I could go on and on, but I’ll leave it at that. \n\nThe only benefit I see in moving to the us from Canada is for certain opportunities, and those come in big cities, so there’s absolutely no point in moving to then live in a small city. \n\nI appreciate that you’re being introspective as you go through the video. Unfortunately gun violence is a massive one for many Canadians, even when they travel to the us. Now that I’m in London, I hear a lot of the same sentiments being mirrored by the Brits. No one wants to lose their health and safety just to move to the us. I wish Canada did more R&D. We have the talent and brains to be innovative, yet so many of us go work in the oil & natural gas sector because it pays handsomely.\nAlso to live in the most scenic provinces like BC and Ontario is crazy expensive. We moved from AB to BC in 2009 which my parents bought their house for $550,000 that's situated 40km East of Vancouver, and today their house is valued at 1.4 million... almost 3 times the original purchase price in just over a decade. Now an adult, my wife and I were forced to move back to Alberta and leave our families because we simply cannot afford to rent there nor ever have an honest shot at saving enough money to buy our own place. It is what it is and I'm sure it's a common theme that's not only exclusive to Canada, but man, it does sucks. I'm happy for any immigrants to move here and call Canada their home too, but many are loaded with money and purchase numerous properties just to then rent it out at an absurd rate because they can. Long overdue, Canada can't afford or should I say refuses to house and provide medical/dental for people who have been here for generations. Canadian government likes to wallow in the spotlight sending millions in aide overseas when it can't house and provide proper health care to its own! As a hardworking Canadian, it is very sad and frustrated to see how people just cross the border so easily from the US when my immigrant parents who held bachelors and PHD needed to sacrifice so much to raise me. They had to do labor work in factories. Those people who seek asylum will enjoy so much such as free housing, food and education support. All the services are coming out from the taxpayers like me. I have been taxed so high that I almost cannot afford a place in large cities like Toronto and Vancouver. In my opinion, Canada should restrict the number of people seeking asylum every five years. It should offer less benefits to those people as well.

Go through the refugge application properly or get sent back. You cannot tell people that they have to go through a rigourous immigration application all for this to be a loophole. \nThe Canadian government has already exploited the real estate market as a comodity to the point that people cannot afford to live where they work.

You cannot come to Canada on a tourist visa to apply for a job. You can learn about the job market, or come if you are invited for an interview by a Canadian employer, but not apply with the intention of not going back home, if you are entering with a tourist visa.\n\nIt is possible for foreign citizen young adults to work in Canada in certain sectors like tourism, but this doesn't put you on the path to citizenship. \n\nThe best way immigrate is is to learn about the job needs (like healthcare) and to get those qualifications in your country, if possible. Many times, you can read about this in the job postings on the internet. You should also avoid colleges that are set up for foreign students to get their student visa, and which don't have any Canadian students (of which there are many). The government is making it harder for these graduates to stay in the country. Moreover, if you are not well educated, you won't make enough money to be able to afford the high cost of living in a large city like Toronto or Vancouver. You would be better to be a licensed electrician or tradesperson and work in more remote areas or central Canada. Canada admits many immigrants very year, and if you are not well qualified, you will be competiting with these workers for work, with lower pay and job security, in sectors like food service and day-care.

Mean while Canadians are taxed heavy to pay for migrants. Many Canadians cannot afford to live in any of the bug cities. Migrants get subsidized homes, food and citizenship.

Great video! Another issue is childcare for working parents. There is no free childcare for working couples, both parents have to work to afford bills and the mother staying at home is not an option for the majority of working class Canadians since life is too expensive. For this reason a lot of people decide not to have children in this country simply because of unaffordability. Considering all the taxes Canadians pay this would greatly help people. The government gladly keeps bringing more and more new people into Canada ( mostly to get voters) but ignores the needs of existing Canadians. Not only you cannot find a house to live or afford one but having a family is nearly impossible without 3 or 4 jobs and using the food bank because after paying the rent there is no money to buy food.
