The contrast between immigrants, many from India, and the rhetoric of those who now feel like a new minority was striking. It should not surprise me that racism appears anywhere humans are, but what stood out was how some speakers treated all Indians as a single people, despite hundreds of cultures, and accused them of failing to assimilate to ‘their way.’ Many of those voices were themselves descendants of immigrants who were once pressured to abandon Norwegian or other identities in the name of assimilation. Yet there was little evidence they had actually spent time getting to know their Indian neighbors, their cultures, friendships, or daily realities. Instead, the focus was fear and a narrative of societal collapse, rather than honest engagement that separates real local issues from blanket blame. Of course, any local community can have problems, and some groups can be unwelcoming. But the argument presented implied there is only one way to be Canadian. That echoes xenophobic rhetoric in the US about who counts as ‘American,’ often while ignoring the reality of Indigenous peoples entirely. I do not deny the importance of shared commitments like the rule of law, freedom, and evidence based policy rooted in the Enlightenment and scientific thinking. But culture and learning can coexist with those values. What troubled me most was how poverty and discrimination were replaced with racial generalizations, and how victim language was used to deflect responsibility, something that resembles DARVO. Given the same conditions, these problems could arise in any group, regardless of race.

I don't see an invasion but a small town that has a lot of Punjabi migrants that are fleeing the persecution and discrimination but bring money and skills not driving skills and the majority do not want to go to US except that have family there. But the county could issue stricter rules for drivers. The town was less hectic before but having economic uncertainty. And speaking of going through the roof, numerous houses were lit on fire late last year from new immigrants irresponsibly lighting off MASSIVE amounts of fireworks during Diwali, then you have the crowds of Indian families going to our previously pristine beaches and digging pits, which they then proceeded to use as their bathroom. People were actually selling "Beach $hitter" t-shirts because the problem was getting so common. Immigration is ok, but the amount of people the Canadian government has allowed into Canada, ALL from totally different cultural origins, in such a short amount of time was never, and will never be sustainable. In my opinion, Canada needs to full stop close its borders to anyone immigrating for at minimum 5-10 years, to allow the countries infostructure time to catch up with the masses of people who have already come into the country. I worked with the liberals in 2017 and this was orchestrated. Trudeau plan 400 was the name of it and he claimed it was to build relationships with india and Pakistan for free trade. That was a lie....... Trudeau's libs were financially strapped when ndp and conservatives dominated the previous election. We have the same driving issues coming into Springfield, Missouri. I see it all the time, especially on the northern part of town. People bring their bad driving habits to the United States and pretend that the traffic laws don't apply to them. For some reason, many countries ignore road safety and because of that, they bring it to other countries who do take it seriously and ruin everything.

I worked at a college that became a diploma mill in Vancouver and you couldn’t go to the men’s room without seeing 3 or 4 dudes hanging out. Hey! Im a sikh that was born in canada, with my parents, grand father, great grand father also being in this beutiful country. I wanted to start of by saying a couple of things. My home was in brampton for a long time and I have personally seen the safety gone down, my family used to come back from trips with our garage open and everything would be completely fine. The long term sikhs and indians came and actually contributing positively and that can be seen with how good canada was pre 2020. Immigration too an extent was good, but mass immigration was never a good idea. In 2018-2019 the old time punjabi community was heavily against so many students coming in, so much so people that were indian had "no students" signs when renting their basements. It's sad to see people that came here running things so badly and ruining the effort and contributions made by many(I even face the consqeunces of things I have never done). Remeber don't be afraid to call out people for their bullshit, but also dont bash innocent people. Now many ppl came to canada and have done good like sikhs having the highest donors of blood, plasma, and platelets. We also giveway a lot in charity and food. A good news is Canada is cracking down on these bad people and quickly, and many good people who came are returning back home. For Canadians:- Improve your immigration policy, how the heck are you allowing so many people in a short amount of time? And what's that college scam, Some people from your country make fake Universities, contact people from abroad and make them come in Canada, then they take their money as fees and then flash! As an Indian living in India, I’d say it was your country’s government’s problem and mistake, similar to what the UK is doing now. Aside from government or policies, Indians immigrating to Canada is something that dates back to the British era, when Britain sent a group of Indians, specifically Sikhs, for security or labor work in Canada. This started the trend of Sikhs (turban-wearing ones) moving there. In modern times, the West was richer in terms of education and infra compared to Asia, which attracted many normal students and families immigrants also. Canada and America were built by immigrants, but now things are saturated, which I understand, and that’s where the resentment comes from. The majority Sikh state ( punjab) in India is still behind in development and job wise cooperation, and the historical pattern from the British era of moving to Canada for a better life has become a norm for many young people there. The close, collaborative nature of Sikhs—like a cousin in Canada inviting another cousin from India to come over, open a shop, work together, or share housing—is another reason many don’t hesitate to immigrate. These are some of the reasons behind mass immigration from India. Now, with saturation, the resentment toward immigration has grown. I am from India came to Canada legally (gone through 7 months of processing and waiting , submitted countless documents , photos , chat history to prove relation status and professional experience, literally submitted all my life story) to obtain PR and come to Canada just to realize that people without any of these come from different parts of the world especially India bypassing the system and living better life working cash jobs and doing random stuff. When i went to take driving license first time, An Indian origin guy rejected my application saying that my Indian License wasn't looking original enough , where I have seen people who couldn't even speak basic English were applying to get license to drive trucks. Brampton has not been a city of 18k or 28 k as many for at least 60 years. In 1980 the population of Brampton was over 200k, so very far above the supposed 28k. Slightly over 150k are from India or of Indian ancestry, so not a majority. A little under a third of Brampton inhabitants are immigrants. Again not a majority. Homeless shelters are usually found in churches, especially ones with homeless centers in them like the one visited by the video crew. 4 bigots in the streets is what was interviewed to present a bigoted view of a city. The colonial British gave them business loans, including Indian banks to extend credit and loans to Indians without surerities. They were allocated colonial govt freehold land for free in the most prime areas of uganda major cities like Kampala, Jinja, Masaka, Mbale, Soroti, Mpigi, Tororo etc while black Ugandan indegenous people were pushed into the rural areas to work in factories, mines and businesses set up for British Asians. So when i see how Canadians resent them I dont feel for them unfortunately. I already had enough on my plate in Canada. For example if you went to a shop and burgained on a KG of sugar or bread, or shirt, and didnt get fail to buy because you dont have that much or failed to get a good deal, the Indian shopkeeper would insult any Afriacn in Indian- Luganda accent " oba tayagala genda malala jali..mali ya nyoko?". meaning " If you dont want to buy go, others are there will buy, is this your capital/ stock?". Many songs were sung after the 1972 kickout depicting that phrase/ quote.

In the meantime, my family and I are struggling to pay for the international tuition of a future surgeon and engineer, and our migration process has been delayed due to the actions of many fraudulent individuals who have destroyed the entire system. At the same time, my taxes are funding all those lazy drug addicts on the streets. This is ridiculous.

Instead of relying on immigration, Canada should focus on innovation — create robots, invest in R&D, and encourage its own population to have more children. Solving the labour shortage domestically is a long-term solution. Bringing in large numbers of people from 3rd world countries won’t fix the real issues — it may even harm the system over time. Speaking as an Indian, I can say that many of our people don’t adapt to the host country’s culture or values; instead, they often bring the same mindset that created problems back home. Look at India — poor infrastructure, declining quality of life, and a government more focused on propaganda than progress. Importing that mentality, even among the so-called “educated,” won’t benefit Canada. Core values and a willingness to evolve matter far more than degrees. Your govt should also stop permit or spending public money on building temples, mosques, or any religious structures. Why do we even need them? Faith is a personal matter — keep your beliefs and celebrations at home. Things starts with these things only.

As an white american with white skin I want to have as many indians as possibly move to my home-town. I want a militant hindu state in my back yard subsidized with my tax dollars. If they work, file their taxes, don't siphon the system and talk to me in English then I do not care what they do in their own time. On the contrary, I wish them the best. That said, there have been far too many immigrants in the last decade, regardless of origin. I've lived in my small town in BC for 37 years and somehow I cannot get a family doctor (I visit all of the local clinics annually and am on the provincial waiting list) while a lot of newer residents seem to have a doctor within months of moving here. I am glad I bought my house when I did, I would not be able to afford one today. I am not against legal immigration, just slow it down so the infrastructure can support it and properly vet those who apply. The system for deportment currently employed in the US is far too hastened and imperfect for my liking but the lack-of-a-system (or heck, acknowledgement) that this is even an issue by the current and previous Canadian governments is equally as concerning (arguably more, other folks can debate the politics of it).

I don’t really understand why these people are receiving hate if they seem like they help one another and others. Those food banks and kitchens that offer a free meal to anyone is a good thing. I understand that many Canadians want assimilation but you can’t seriously expect people who were raised in another country for decades to automatically become Hockey viewers and poutine fans overnight assimilation takes time. Instead of looking at them with skepticism y’all should talk with one another instead. That old dude towards the end really said it best that we should help one another as humans.

I should have called the police many times, and I deeply regret not stopping this intrusion into our Canadian culture. Hazel, the mayor the time at least, stopped the construction of monster homes. Their sense of supremacy was tangible. It's well past the time to deal with unregistered apts, finding true identities and turning to the Indians made victims of the ruthless greed to get the truth.

Canada has changed significantly in recent years, and I believe our post-COVID immigration policies have played a major role in the challenges we’re facing today. Here’s how things went off track: Many individuals who couldn’t pass the IELTS (English proficiency test) entered the country on visitor visas or through spousal sponsorships—some of which were questionable or fraudulent. During that time, the government was converting visitor visas into work permits with little to no scrutiny. Background checks and rejections were rare. Meanwhile, colleges rapidly expanded their intake capacity—understandably so, since international students pay three to four times more in tuition. At the same time, due to inflationary pressures, the government allowed international students to work 40 hours per week instead of the previous 20-hour limit. This created a new, ready-to-work labor force in just a year or two, heavily impacting the retail sector. As a result, a large portion of retail jobs shifted toward a single ethnic group, while many Canadian citizens found themselves sidelined. One key factor was flexibility. Many immigrant communities—particularly Indian—were more willing to accept irregular hours and last-minute shifts, often adopting a more compliant, “yes sir” attitude that employers found appealing. However, I’m already beginning to notice changes in the retail landscape, likely due to the government finally tightening immigration rules. Going forward, we don’t need to close our doors—but we do need smarter immigration policies, with proper checks and balances, to ensure fairness and sustainability for everyone.

I wonder if they discussed how when Indian students who unalive themselves in Canada, the deaths are not treated as such. There are many families who have the remains of their kids (usually young males) repatriated and the death is left unclear. The gov’t of Canada has been obfuscating many such deaths. Was it the Canadian govt fully at fault for the deaths? Not quite… these students are often met with predatory individuals who take advantage of their vulnerable situations: such as predatory landlords who have sometimes 15 or more students renting one house, or unjust working conditions because the employer knows that the immigrants citizenship hopes are tied to the job, etc etc. Ultimately, it’s the Canadian government turning a blind eye to these realities and trying to make the deaths appear due to things other than unalive attempts. This shouldn’t be surprising considering the way the Canadian government has been pushing dystopian legislation around their medically assisted dying program (MAiD). Canada’s medically assisted dying program has the least guardrails of any program of that type in other countries. Not just this, but the legislation for MAiD comes at a time when Canada’s healthcare and mental healthcare systems are collapsing. Trudeau said he would address this with one his re-election promises in 2021: he promised 5 billion for mental health programs. I’ve worked in the field for almost 20 years with youth and that money never arrived, nor has any serious attempt to fund programs occurred since the brutal Canadian pandemic policies massively exacerbated the youth mental health crisis. Perhaps one day someone will be able to trace how the 5 Billion promised was send off in provincial transfers that did not benefit any programs and likely only helped pay for all the upper management, because Canada’s healthcare, education and mental health care systems are absurdly top-heavy. Canada becomes moral dystopian by the day, with regular folks (working class, blue collar, low-income) bearing the burden. Everyday more people join the rank of the oppressed regular people while a few who work in the government or favored industries are overpaid and the stats around all of this corruption are further obfuscated and buried. And as all this occurs, you see bureaucrats like the on in this video smug in their knowledge that most Canadians will never learn how dark the truth is.
