Proud of Justin Trudeau of saying what needs to be said. As an American, I'm embarrassed by the way our government is behaving. This needs to stop! This bullying and chest puffery is only going to be our demise.

Crazy to see how relations have broken down between our two countries and sad for all my great American friends and thanks for your support but anyone with half a mind could see this coming. So many Americans, even republican voters, now waking up to the cold reality of a treasonous, mad president allied to a Russian mad man, isolating the US from the rest of the world. He was basically elected to repaire the economy. Ha! Nice going you orange freak. The stock market is crashing like a Trump casino. You bankrupt two casinos and now you are doing the same to America. I don't like Trudeau, but this speech was great. Intelligent when he needed to be, simple when addressing Trump. A strong start to this trade war which as he said, we don't want. I hope along with Ford we hit America where it hurts. Fertilizer is an easy one, Our farmers just need to go back to using natural animal/yuman waste which is ecactly what used to be done. It even saves farmers billions $ because they create a use for waste they now pay to have to process for removal. Lumber and products are also an easy fix. We Americans have millions of acres of timber that actually NEEDS regular harvest to reduce the forest fires that plague us yearly. Trudeau is serving the final moments of his last term, but his approval ratings shot up since the Trump presidency started. Trump genuinely such a crappy leader than other leaders with approval ratings in the dirt are gaining support for going against him. As an American, it’s damn amazing. I hope the next PM of Canada keeps up the same energy and doesn’t concede to the US. As a Canadian, I didn’t vote for Trudeau but I have to hand it to him, he has expressed the thoughts and feelings of the majority of Canadians very well. Canadians are generally pretty laid back and easy going, often too polite for our own good. However, as the Americans in 1812, the Germans in WW1 and WW2, the Chinese and North Koreans in the Korean War and the Taliban in Afghanistan found out we don’t shy away from a fight when we are provoked. We will never bow down to that orange orangutang in the White House.

I'm European and I really can't understand how you can make an economic trade war with an ally like Canada, a close and so friendly neighbor.... A dumb decision not only for the W Post...
