Let's face it....governments encourage immigration to tax more people. Why can't people see it?\nIt won't change unless people speak up...and now they are. It's time for a honest discussion.

#1 Yes, Canada needs more people but the government should be encouraging Canadians to have many babies (maybe tax breaks for having kids, but I'm not sure about this)\n#2 Remove all restrictions on house building, Build many houses\n#3 When you bring in immigrants focus on high skill immigrants not low skill. This takes away jobs from low educated Canadians.

It's not a humanitarian crisis. It is a deliberate invasion that is sanctioned and encouraged by the US government (the largest human trafficking organization in the world) and the communist democrat regime hellbent on destroying the US.

Yeah I being Indian I have faced lot of problems from Indian land lord , they are pain. Again all of them are not same , as India is a wide nation with different sub culture in there. There is a small chance the government will encourage them to stay, but as all socioeconomic predictions call for, more workforce mean more money made. The real question is Canada vs Florida because the U.S. consists of many mini countries that have agreed on a common constitutional document and basic laws but otherwise are different countries. With that said Canada loses on every metric that matters to Florida. From economics to taxes to business to self defense and personal property Florida wins. That is what the right to bear arms was for first and foremost not just self defense. Canada ignores this entirely and instead has the perspective of give the government all the power and expect government to be “good” and act in good faith to the people which it has continually failed to do so. The government has welcomed in 1.2 million people from January 2023-2024. We cannot sustain those numbers, and even more disturbing, our new immigrants are from Asia and East Asia, and Africa, not from other countries off the world. We don’t need people like you encouraging more immigrants to come here, when we can’t afford the average 600,000 new immigrants per year that has been forced on us since 2015.

Hey most of the international students who come into the country join 2nd tier colleges and pay exorbitant amount of college tuition. (They can get better education in India than what they get in Canada for what they are paying and they joint shit colleges which no domestic applicant in their right mind would join), the only reason they pay that is so they can settle here and the government of Canada always made immigration policies that made it easy for international students to get a permanent residency so they can boost these shitty 2nd tier colleges who are not worthy. In my humble opinion to make it fair, I support tightening immigration laws that don’t encourage poor quality immigrants any further, but impose the law in such way it doesn’t encourage future immigrants by not impacting people who are already in the system and came due to this immigration hopes promoted by the government. (Indirectly through policies). You won’t find Indians doing menial Tim Hortons jobs in the USA, coz USA only gets and gives PR to Indian immigrants who add value to their country. I agree with you It’s not right for these students to stay, for that please also shut down your 2nd tier colleges where the domestic applicants are less than 70%. If they have no skills are attaining Canadian education should those colleges even exist ?

The situation is really bad, I am not supporting the migration here but first off Canadians need help to kick those drugs and then they can save their state, city and country. But it looks like the government is showcasing a dystopia by encouraging people in drugs and doing all wrong things to retain power and make money and one such move is migration.

I met some of these people in Thailand after COVID. There was a small group of Chinese who kept to themselves at our hostel. One day I overheard them in Chinese repeatedly talking about my country Mexico which got me to talk with them. They were quite happy to learn I could speak Chinese but more excited to learn I was from Mexico. They started asking me a bunch of questions about crossing the border into the US to which I bluntly told them I had no idea about and discouraged it. I asked where they got these crazy ideas from and they said that people were posting videos and tutorials of how to cross into the US online. The Chinese government hard handed approach to COVID was what made them leave. They wanted to go both for the freedom and economic benefits but they had a very naive and overly optimistic view of the US. They saw the high wages US workers were making but had no idea as to the incredibly high living costs associated with living there. I tried explaining that there was a housing shortage and that their expectations for life in the US would set them for disappointment but they either didn't believe me or brushed off my criticism. I also tried encouraging them to go to German or Australia instead (places which I feel would be better and easier for them to enter) but they seemed dead set on just going to the US. Unfortunately I don't know where they are now as Wechat is blindly and constantly blocking and deleting accounts in SE Asia without reason......................

People are not getting value for the taxes they are paying. Government is using the tax money to encourage illegal immigrants.

This is a fairytale ghost country where people are not encouraged to do creative things like innovation and business entrepreneurship, everything is capped by tax and government beaucracy. I would encourage Canadians to get involved more in politics and demand changes to the system. Housing is high in Canada due to lack of building permits and blue collar laborers. Canada accepted a high rate of white collar skill immigrants but lack job opportunities for them. Vancouver economy is tourism dependent while Alberta is energy base and Toronto financial base. Healthcare is available for every Canadian but salaries are low in the industry compared to US. The government should encourage companies to invest in Canada and create jobs for the economy. Since the tax rate in Canada is higher compared to the US, citizens should ask themselves if the money is going to good use and generating jobs in the economy.

Symptomatic of Canada is the fact that on average Government employees earn 20% more than those in equivalent jobs in the private sector, they retire will fully indexed pensions equivalent to their 3 highest salary years (private sector employees must pay for their own pension or try and live off the universal pension of $1,200 per month from CPP), their benefits and vacation time are unmatched by the private sector. It is workers in the private sector and the companies that employ them who pay all the taxes required to compensate the most overpaid and bloated government service in the world. As a result, Canada's private sector is no longer competitive. It is a country where parents no longer encourage their children to find a high pay job in the private sector, they instead encourage their children to either move to the USA (if they're ambitious) or secure a government sector job. THIS IS THE PROBLEM WITH CANADA. and God help you if you're born in Canada as a Caucasian Make your change of securing one of these high paying government jobs is close to zero.

I was born and raised in Toronto. I have no family inheritance to give me a jump start. I make good money (middle upper class) but I’m still struggling financially. Not because I spend like crazy or anything, but because taxes are crazy and everything is so expensive. And now with the high interest rates, my monthly expenses went up $4000+ for no reason. Just based on interest rates. I had a pho lunch for 2 last week and it was freaking $70! Crimes are increasing like crazy and the government keeps having talks of handing out money when we are in so much debt. Seriously the government right now is discouraging talented hard working ppl and encouraging lazy leeches to keep being lazy. Our healthcare is also a joke. Doctors know nothing and are only there to write prescriptions. The amount of people I know that was misdiagnosed for conditions so obvious that any 10 year old can figure out by googling their symptoms is ridiculous. \n\nBeing a Toronto native I really hate seeing the city/country crumble like this. I am starting to question if sticking around is the right choice. But I’m so established and embedded here I don’t know how to uproot everything and move elsewhere. It is encouraging to see someone who may in fact be a Liberal sharing her grief of living in Canada. I am a 5th generation Canadian and have been appalled by the situation and the damage the Federal government has inflicted to the country. That is why many, myself included have moved out or now live abroad.

I mean we have people here that can't even speak English or French and are accepted by immigration. When wealthy people and those aspiring to be wealthy use homes as investments, and governments encourage this, homes are going to be increasingly unaffordable.

As an older person who migrated decades ago after protesting in my old country, I encourage young people below 45 to FIGHT for your countries. Fight bad goverments. 7 billion people on the planet cannot move to the few western countries that seem to work and appear attractive on the surface, it’s not possible. I “fought” oppressive corrupt regimes with other like minded folks when I was younger before leaving! I wish we were more that were interested in protesting! Now folks are giving up without a serious protest, distracted by entertainment and the illusion of utopian countries which is not true. They find out too late! \n\nWestern politicians and governments need to stop cooperating with oppressive governments in these areas if they truly want to tackle immigration. Freeze their stolen loot like we did to the Russian oligarchs, force them to return the loot into their various economies and create good middle class jobs! \n\nThe west works because most work is assembly line in nature, glorifies slavery. A doctor has a target of about 15 to 20 patients to see per day and rushes you out of his office because the corporation he works for only cares about money and KPIs! You really aren’t allowed to interact with patients and provide personalized service. A pharmacist has to fill anything between 200 to 350 prescriptions, give a certain number of immunizations and see a certain No of patients per day. There is no time for niceties! A corporate professional May work remotely but has to deliver on so many projects he is up till 10pm and only gets up to eat. We have beautiful homes, drive nice cars etc but MUST work like the clock in an assembly line fashion! Most of us pay so much of our income as taxes we end up with less than 70% as paychecks! Things aren’t always what they seem!

There should be no way to come here as a tourist and stay and this type of behavior encouraging this should also be considered criminal. Canada will hopefully have a new government soon and hopefully every loophole in our immigration policy is plugged

The similarities between Canada, US and NZ, Australia is startling. Money losing vigor in residential real estate instead of invigorating the economy via business. And immigration being encouraged because of a brain drain as the Canada and NZ's economies are impotent (thanks to rentseeking). And both blessed with governments promising to solve home ownership (family stability) but no action

All while this encouraged distraction is happening, our government is up to NO GOOD

Manitoba is the best provinces I used to live in. House expense is cheap, lots of beautiful landscapes in Manitoba. Unlike such as Toronto big cities etc. very expensive property cost, ugly human made concrete forest. You only feel out of breath for everyday hard work including weekend overtime work to make a living. Lots of wasting time and money for political elections. For example there is no forum discussing highway 407 free driving again. This is for working class people to save money and can expense more in groceries etc. and finally increasing lots of companies products to sell and finally increase more employment. But there is no politicians talking about it. And capital country Canada encouraged capitalisms bribery government for advantage rights to get ugly extra money. Like Chinese government does!

Canada does more to discourage start ups then encourage them. Canada is a terrible country to try and start a business which explains why so many exploit the house market, which in turn has made a complete mess of affordable housing for Canadians. Foreign property investing was suppose to have been stopped but the Liberal government changed their mind and decided to allow foreigners to continue buying up properties and driving the house prices higher too the point properties are empty because no one can afford the rental prices. I guess that's why the Federal government introduced a new tax for properties that are vacant. Oh Canada

Immigration levels are causing the housing market boom. Colleges are paying the government of the day to keep immigration laws lenient as this would encourage more international students. The result- the quality of people coming in this country has dramatically declined. The healthcare has been hit badly as the wait times can be months. Everyone wants to come to Ontario causing unemployment as immigrants work for less pay and ordinary Canadian can’t afford to work for that less. People keep on buying houses and renting it out and millennial can’t buy houses anymore. I don’t know how will canada feed all of us when AI takes our jobs. \nThe past 5-8 years of Trudeau has ruined my Canada.

Canadian business culture and government regulation encourages mediocrity and conformity, and boat rocking of any form is viewed as almost heretical.\nYou are expected shut up, do the same thing you did yesterday, and pay 4 different layers of taxes. Nothing more, nothing less.
